TRILOBEAT Present ‘The Red’ Official Video, Feat. David Kollar

“Is the current state of the planet a reflection of our disconnection from nature?” asks the creators of the new music video for the track “The Red”. “Or are we still a part of it despite everything? Vulnerable mammals with basic instincts?” This motif is carried visually throughout the whole art piece, which in various levels and symbols discusses the relationship between humankind and nature, how they interact and intertwine with each other.

The track “ The Red” is featured on the album “Extinction Horizon” by the band TRILOBEAT. The album takes its name from the black ash line that signals the demise of civilization during archaeological excavations. It consists of a coherent story mapping the theme of the climate crisis and the fate of our civilization, delivered through instrumental compositions influenced by alternative music, nu-jazz, or prog-rock. On the album, Trilobeat collaborated with several international names – such as Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis, Trifecta) or David Kollar (KOMARA, Steven Wilson, Erik Truffaz), whose distinctive guitar sound can also be heard in the epic solo in the track “The Red”.

“The visual aspect of the work has always been important to us,” pianist and composer Jakub Mikula explains. “When composing the new album, we constantly had its cinematic presentation in mind – an allegorical documentary, you could say. However, it was clear to us that we couldn’t do the concept alone, so we approached filmmakers to help us turn the concept into reality.”

Jana Durajová and Ivan Hrušovský – Slovak filmmakers with extensive experience in documentary films on social or investigative topics – took over the script, the director’s chair, and the camera. “It was very inspiring for us to come up with the visuals for the track from the album Horizon, environmental appeal is an important topic for all of us. At the same time, it was a challenge – to create a story into a coherent piece of music that would fit the musical arrangement with this theme. Most of the time we work in the opposite process, where the music supports the image,” comments director Jana Durajová on her collaboration with the band.

Natural history filmmaker Braňo Molnár provided the wildlife footage from his archive. They appropriately complement the storyline and post-catastrophic scenes.

“I was left in complete awe at some of the footage. For example, we managed to capture a herd of roe deer grazing in front of a steaming refinery, as if we had arranged them there – an accurate representation of how heavy industry interferes with the natural environment,” recalls cinematographer and director Ivan Hrušovský. “As the album has many symbolic and surrealistic layers, our visuals are complemented with animations by Marián Vredík.”

In the music video, he created an ephemeral mythological beast whose body is pieced together from all sorts of creatures. He used the animation principle of collage, where he worked with cut-out fragments of animals, mainly from historical encyclopedias. The filmmakers visited a number of antique shops and selected suitable, as little digital visual material as possible. Thus, for example, drawings from a 1931 textbook of Natural History for town schools or the 1948 Encyclopaedia of Animals are included in the video footage.

Trilobeat is an emerging band based in Slovakia, which crosses borders with its new ambitious album and establishes cooperation with musicians all over the world. They create and perform genre-blending instrumental music supported by emotional visual projection. Their work has attracted music fans of prog-rock, nu-jazz, alternative, and even classical music.
The main ideas of their art are various contemporary problems and crises of humankind – existentialism, unsustainability, insensibility but also aspects of life of each human being – love, sadness, misery, or contentment in simple living.

Since its beginning in 2017, the band has released several singles and audio-visual recordings as well as an eponym debut in 2019, which established its spot on the alternative music scene. The band´s live performances have been broadcasted on national TV and singles have been included in playlists on several radio stations. The band also gave outstanding performances at festivals in Central Europe, while also holding more intimate events during their multiple club tours of their home country, Slovakia.

The band’s second album, “Zánikový horizont / Extinction Horizon” was released in 2022 via Hevhetia, a prestigious Slovak label. It boasts of a collaboration between both local and international talents featuring names such as Adam Holzman, keyboardist (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis, Trifecta), and David Kollar, guitarist (KOMARA, Steven Wilson, Erik Truffaz) in addition to the original line-up. The album is an impressive sound adventure, while their compositions combine variable electronic surfaces, a distinct piano sound, and a rough rock background. The outstanding world-class sound quality of the recording was created in cooperation with the multi-genre Toronto-based producer, Vlad Avy (Iamthemorning, Gleb Kolyadin).

In 2023, the band signed a worldwide distribution deal with Epictronic, and the album will try to get the attention it deserves also beyond the borders of Slovakia.

DAVID REECE Reveals Artwork + Tracklist of New Album “Baptized By Fire”, Out March 1st

DAVID REECE have revealed the cover and tracklist for his new album “Baptized By Fire”, which will be released on March 1, 2024, followed by an extensive tour through North America and Europe. The exact dates will be released gradually. The artwork was created by Newton Artworxx.

The singer says: “The title choice of Baptized by Fire was suggested by a friend in America as we talk about the ongoing efforts in working on new music and the trials that always go along while creating the music, creating a visual to also flow with the music.I have branded David Reece with the Chief and felt the Chief should evolve like each new album I release so working with Ritchie Newton we agreed to give the Chief a new more aggressive look that also goes along with the sound and vibe of this record.I am very excited to share this album through El Puerto Records because it’s a natural progression in this journey.”

Not much more needs to be said about David Reece. Since the late 80s, his charismatic voice has enhanced successful albums by ACCEPT, Bangalore Choir, Bonfire and the Sainted Sinners, among others. In addition to this, however, he also continued to focus on his solo career. As the cover and title “Baptized by Fire” already suggest, his latest album is significantly “heavier” than its two predecessors. Twelve new songs full of power, mature and varied. One reason for this is certainly his new band line-up. In his adopted home of Italy, he found three highly talented, creative collaborators with whom he was able to work on the songs around the clock. A paradise for a “thoroughbred” musician like Reece!

Tracklist:
01 – Enemy Is Me
02 – We’ve Lost The Fight
03 – Wrong Move

ANTHRAX’s ‘Inside Out’ Re-Imagined by MAMMOTHOR for Its 25th Anniversary

Boston’s heavy rock powerhouse, Mammothor, proudly unveils their latest single, “Inside Out,” from their eagerly anticipated album, Lies By Omission. This re-imagined rendition, originally by the thrash icons, Anthrax, marks a compelling homage to one of the band’s pivotal influences.

“‘Inside Out’ emerged as a natural choice, as a cover for us on the new album,” shares vocalist Travis Lowell, acknowledging the track’s dynamic vocal hooks and thunderous rhythms. “The response from our live performances validated our decision. I even had the honor of connecting with John Bush, the original singer, who graciously extended his best wishes.”

Reminiscent of Anthrax’s original video 25 years ago, which cleverly parodied a Twilight Zone episode, Mammothor pays tribute not only to the song but also the beloved TV series, and in turn, Anthrax’s video. Collaborating with the visionary lens of Humble Hero’s Ben Proulx, Mammothor crafted an epic rock video that is destined to be timeless.

Fresh from the success of their latest album, Lies By Omission, Mammothor has numerous reasons to rejoice. With an astounding 3.1 million streams on Spotify and an incredible 4-week reign at the #1 position on the regional charts, the band stands as a rising force in the independent rock and metal scene.

“Inside Out” officially premiered on Friday, December 15, on all major streaming platforms. An exclusive premiere of their music video can be found on Youtube:

Mammothor is an American hard rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2012, Mammothor features vocalist Travis Lowell, the dual guitar attack of Josh Johnson and Alex Muss, bassist Lori Gangi, and drummer Euz Azevedo. The eclectic background of each member helps Mammothor deliver the essence of rock, combining thunderous heavy metal riffs with the versatility of 90’s alternative.

Mammothor has progressed with each album release, developing their sound throughout the years, and consistently improving both their live performance and their album production. Their 2014 debut album, Tyrannicide, showcased the band’s heavy blues rock influences, and its follow-up, 2017’s Devotion Lost, featured more progressive and alt-metal leanings. The band returned in 2021 with The Ecstasy of Silence…The Agony of Dreams, which proved to be the band’s most streamlined effort to date with the enlistment of Kevin Billingslea (Lamb of God) and Will Holland (Fallout Boy) for recording/co-production and Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Queensryche, Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) for mixing and mastering. Mammothor has once again teamed with Billingslea, Holland, and Zeuss for their latest album, Lies By Omission, with post-production handled by Jake Adkins and Connor Riley (Wake Up Hate).

Mammothor has toured with and supported many national acts including the likes of Saliva and Hed(PE), in addition to opening massive shows for legends including Megadeth, Godsmack, and Korn.

The people in the Ahr valley have suffered exactly this fate, as many have lost their homes, farmsteads or even family members. They had to leave their homes. Anyone who was ever in the Ahr valley before the flood disaster will understand when we say: The home, as we knew it, is no longer as it once was and it will never be the same again.

We would like to thank Markus Wipperfürth and Felix Sorge for providing us with additional footage and for their support.”

Iranian electronic metalcore vocalist Robobun makes her debut with the double-single “Red Dream”, along with the music video of the title-track premiering on BVTV music. The double-single features the song “Won’t be There” and the title-track “Red Dream”. Robobun was arrested and imprisoned for three days for being featured in a friend’s music video but that doesn’t deter her from creating and releasing her own music.

Robobun explores a profound journey marked by betrayal and loss. Frustration and loneliness permeate her world as friends and familiar faces turn away. Trust becomes a rarity, and aggression is a response to a crumbling reality. Amidst this chaos, the artist clings to a single constant—the dream that endures the turmoil. “Red Dream” narrates the story of a resilient girl steadfast in her pursuit, navigating the path independently. Despite societal restrictions on female vocalists in her home country of Iran, Robobun persists, utilizing scars and pain as stepping stones toward strength.
