SLOPE are proud to share another single and video entitled “True Blue”, which showcases yet again, that their musical influences come from a broad variety of genres, which makes them truly unique.

The band comments on their new single and video as follows:
“True Blue is a mood swing itself. Midnight Blues and High Life. Out detailed and simple. Smilin’ and Cryin’. True Blue.

The video is a mirror of life as we know it.
Times of joy and color interrupted by the strong melancholic Blue.”

In case you’ve missed it, check out their previous single and video “Freak Dreams” here: https://slope.lnk.to/FreakDreams-Single

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Beastie Boys, Rage Against The Machine and early Red Hot Chili Peppers, SLOPE infuses their music with infectious energy, irresistible hooks, and thought-provoking lyrics.

Their lyrics delve into the personal struggles and unsatisfying situations that many face in today’s world, particularly the feeling of being deceived by the system. Their music serves as a powerful medium to address these issues, resonating with audiences who can relate to their messages.

James Dorton Filling In on NE OBLIVISCARIS Tour

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 30, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: NE OBLIVISCARIS. Leave a comment

NE OBLIVISCARIS start their first tour of North America in 5 years next Thursday, October 5 in Baltimore. Unfortunately, Xen is unable to perform. James Dorton (Black Crown Initiate, The Faceless, Replacire) will fill in on vocals.

“Xen was unable to take part in our European tour in May earlier this year due to issues with his own health and well-being that took priority,” says NeO. “When it came time to plan for upcoming tours Xen was up front that he wasn’t quite sure what he would be able to manage, so we agreed to take things one tour at a time.

“Whilst it was incredible to have him back on stage with us for our recent Australian tour earlier this month, we understand 4 shows in your home country is not quite the same as 31 shows in 6 weeks on the other side of the world. With that in mind Xen has decided that unfortunately he is not able to perform on the upcoming North American tour. We are grateful that the incredible James Dorton, who has been on standby just in case, has agreed to join us once more after an amazing run of shows together in Europe earlier this year.

“We’re really excited knowing that James already knows the show back to front and did such an amazing job with us earlier in the year. The feedback from fans was simply immense and having James do this upcoming run of US & Canadian shows allows us the chance to still put on incredible shows for all of our fans there, whilst also allowing Xen the time he needs to focus on what is most important for him right now. This then creates the best chance for him to join us for all tours in 2024 and beyond, which is definitely the plan.”

While other bands bring a touch of prog and classical to extreme metal, Pop Matters recognized that “none come close to the astute world-building and intricate yet direct songwriting of Ne Obliviscaris”. Angry Metal Guy praised Tim Charles’ “sobbing”, “lonely” violin, while Metal Injection singled out album closer “Anhedonia” for being “magnificently disturbing”.

GAEREA Unveil Secret Track with Video ‘Dormant’, Currently on Tour in North America

waterboarding
/ˈwôdərˌbôrdiNG/
noun
a form of torture, typically used as an interrogation technique, in which a person is strapped head-down on a sloping board with the mouth and nose covered while water is poured over their face, causing them to experience a sensation similar to that of drowning.

Would you submit yourself to human torture to go beyond your limits to expressing art? Voluntary suffering for the greater goal in pursuit of artistic excellence is what one of the members of cathartic black metal band GAEREA (PT) went through for the visualization of “Dormant.”

The video (recorded by the great Claudio Marino, distinguished for working with giants like BEHEMOTH, WATAIN, SHINING) simply can’t be classified as a music video. It’s an eight- minute excruciating compilation of being waterboarded, trapped in a cycle of unending pain, with each passing moment feeling like an eternity, time becomes the cruelest enemy.

GAEREA comments: “Complementing the song’s aural journey, the video art installation accompanying ‘Dormant’ delves into the anguish and struggle for survival. The visuals depict the main character, trapped and enclosed in a tormenting world, as water relentlessly pours over his body, simulating drowning and suffocation. This immersive and visceral experience offers a harrowing glimpse into the protagonist’s fight for life, evoking a range of emotions and challenging viewers to confront their own mortality.”

“Dormant” had previously only been available to fans who purchased the bonus-edition of ‘Mirage.’ Now, the enigmatic horde is sharing the track digitally along with this masterful and real work of torture art. There are no actors, no gimmicks, and no special effects. The disturbing video can been seen at THIS LOCATION.

Video directed by Claudio Marino

In addition, Gaerea will be unveiling a secret screening event to kick start their imminent tour in North America! The clandestine event took place on September 28, at the original Kuma’s Corner in Chicago, IL!

Gaerea previously commented, “This is the death of ‘Mirage’ and the moment we start to let go of our world just so another one can be born. This unique event will showcase everything Gaerea has ever stood for. Get ready to witness something truly special, crafted specially to each and everyone of you who wishes to join us for an evening we shall never forget.”

Following the event, Gaerea kicked off its North American tour with Wolves in the Throne Room, Blackbraid, and Hoaxed on September 29 in St. Louis, MO, which will then conclude on October 24 in Denver, CO. Tickets are now available and can be found HERE while the full itinerary can be found below!

Gaerea will be supporting its incendiary 2022 release, ‘Mirage,’ debuting a new live aesthetic! ‘Mirage’ was ranked among the best records of last year by Decibel Magazine, A&P Reacts, Ghost Cult Magazine, Sick Drummer, and more! The album is available HERE.
