THE ODDEVEN Sign Worldwide Deal with Eclipse Records, New Album “Darkness” Out January 5th

Eclipse Records is excited to announce the signing of The OddEven to an exclusive worldwide deal! Based in Baltimore, MD (USA), the hard-rockin’ alternative metal band is known for their riff-oriented songs with massive groove and hypnotic kick. The band features Weed on bass, E.T. on guitar, Chris Volz on lead vocals, and Tosha Jones on drums. Following up on the success of their Dance of the Dead album in 2021, the band has written their best songs yet, and are currently preparing for the release of their new full-length album Darkness which is scheduled for release on January 5, 2024 via Eclipse Records.

“We originally met with Kenny Colgate who handles radio promotion at Eclipse Records, back in 2019 a few months after the band’s inception at a showcase in Brooklyn, NY” says bassist Weed. “We had a great conversation following The OddEven’s set and said we would get in touch when we were ready to record our first release.  The band was pulled in a bunch of different directions over the next couple of years with changing band members, touring, writing, recording, etc. so that was delayed a bit, but we had every intention of coming back to Eclipse one day and seeing if a partnership made sense. After submitting new music in late 2022 and meeting with Chris Poland (label president) a number of times, we mutually agreed to come together for the band’s 3rd release which features Chris Volz from Flaw on vocals and Tosha Jones on drums.  The OddEven is super excited to work with Chris and the Eclipse team to take our alien hard rock music to the masses!” Guitarist E.T. continues, “The OddEven approached, and was approached, by a number record labels prior to signing with Eclipse this year.  Eclipse had a unique vision and plan to release and promote our music with modern and fresh ideas so they were the best option for us.  Maybe signing with Eclipse makes sense because of their well-thought-out plans to push our music, or maybe it is the fact that an eclipse is an astronomical event, so the label’s name plays well into our alien sensibilities…  whatever the case may be, the stars aligned, and we are happy to be part of the Eclipse family!  Let’s rock!”

Darkness is the new alternative metal album by The OddEven, and we had all better strap in and get ready to fly hard and fast. The record is not just a collection of rock tunes, but more a journey to nightmares, dreamscapes, thrill rides, and butcher knives. This album make us want to stand on our chairs with our fists in the air, then go home from the show hoarse and happy. It wants us all to keep hold of the groove, and make all of us feel like Rock Gods. Darkness was produced by Weed and E.T., alongside Frank Marchand (Fiona Apple, Nils Lofgren) at Waterford Digital, and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Monster Magnet, Fleetwood Mac) at West West Side Music. DEN SAAKALDTE Premiere New Track ‘Å Skjende En Engel’

Norwegian black metal band DEN SAAKALDTE reveals new track “Å Skjende En Engel” in advance of new studio album “Pesten Som Tar Over” out on September 29th via Agonia Records. The song is available on all streaming platforms including YouTube, below:

DEN SAAKALDTE is the brainchild of guitarist Sykelig, established back in 2006, after Sykelig relocated from Hellas to Norway. The band started as a one man project but soon included in its ranks members such as Kvarforth (Shining), S. Winter (ex-Gehenna), Seidemann (1349) and Øyvind Hægeland to name a few. 

Through its years of existence, DEN SAAKALDTE released “Øl, Mørke og Depresjon” (2008), “All Hail Pessimism” (2009) and “Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete” (2014), along with a number of split EPs with notable bands such as Shining, Horna, Varathron and Principality of Hell. 

The band’s current line up consists of guitarists Sykelig and Fineidet, bassist Skoll (Arcturus, Ved Buens Ende), drummer Tybalt (ex-Pantheon I) and vocalist Svik, and is ready to release its long-awaited new album “Pesten Som Tar Over” on Agonia Records. 

“Pesten Som Tar Over” was recorded during March 2022 at Strand Studio (Borknagar, In Vein) in Oslo. The album was co-produced and mixed by DEN SAAKALDTE and Marius Strand, and engineered and mastered by Marius Strand. The cover artwork was painted by Chadwick St. John of Inkshadows (Arckanum, Darkthrone).

CRAZY MAD RIDE Investigate Meaning of “Life, Liberty, Death” in New EP, Out Now

US thrash metal group CRAZY MAD RIDE arrive on the scene with their first E.P entitled Life, Liberty, Death and it proves that the band has what it takes to be raw, powerful, versatile and original.

Delivering an immense amount of hook with the first track Lunacy, the listener gets an immediate taste of what is to follow. With guitar work that has never been done before, it earns its spot as the opener for the E.P. Continuing, Scorpio keeps the energy flowing with its fast thrash and ‘to the point’ attitude. The song is eight and a half minutes of pure aggression with a proper amount of breakdowns to keep the audience wondering what comes next. As the speed and power of Scorpio comes to a close, Bayou Bounty then takes the third spot on the E.P with a bass line opening as its calling card. As Doc Lopez comes in with some clean guitar chords, Brandon Barker follows shortly after with a slide solo. As the intro closes, the bass kicks into a distorted tone as it leads the rest of the band into a fury of riffs that will grab listeners of thrash and rock ’n’ roll alike. By the end of the song, the audience is sure to be nodding as the entire band kicks into a rock style jam for the ending. The Deceiver then comes in at number four with a highly unique guitar intro that gives a time traveling effect back to the 80s. With old school tones and techniques, the song contains original riffs that are sure to grab any high octane metalhead. For the duration of the track there is no holding back. It is constantly in your face with shredding solos, impactful lyrics, and the will to say “We are Crazy Mad Ride, and we’re here to prove we are the next best thing.”

American black metallers PROFANATICA have spit on everything holy since they were playing the backroom of Chinese restaurants alongside Gorophobia, Immolation and Incantation.

Led by drummer Paul Ledney, these heretics have wiped their ass with the Bible for 30+ years. They’ve hurled everything from profanities to their own feces at the heavenly host (not to mention other, more nefarious bodily fluids).

This Friday, Profanatica are releasing their new album ‘Crux Simplex’. As you can see from the cover art, it’s so blasphemous, that you just might lose your head.

‘Crux Simplex’ is vile even by Profanatica’s lofty standards. The album takes things another step too far by mocking Jesus on the day of his crucifixion (talk about kicking someone when they’re down). Each song bastardizes a different station of the cross. “Take Up the Cross” ushers in a fresh plague of stain and sacrilege with Ledney’s rotten death growl, while “The First Fall” gives our precious lord and savior a good lashing with cymbals that clank like rusty chains. By the time “The First Fall” comes around, you can practically hear those blackened chainsaw guitars ripping the king of kings limb from limb.      

“These 10 tracks represent the first 10 stations of the cross,” says Mayhemic Slaughterer of the Heavens Paul Ledney. “It took well over a year to create, and for all those who know us we consider it our gift  to you.”

Eonian Records announces the release of TAZ “Wake Up & Sweat, Vol. 1” and “Shipwrecked, Vol. 2”. About TAZ

Originally formed in 1983, TAZ started out in Orange County as Maniac Thrust. Founding
members, singer/songwriter Kent Kleven and guitarist/songwriter Ethan Gladstone had known each other since elementary school, forming their first musical project together while attending junior high. In 1985, the band changed their name to TAZ while adding new bassist Chris Roy, a high school friend of Ethan’s, and drummer Kenny Pierce. A few years later, added guitarist Rick Berry who was also childhood friends with Kent and Ethan. In 1990, just before heading to Japan, TAZ would bring in the final addition to the band, Florida native drummer Joey Carallo. Throughout their career, TAZ played at every well-known venue throughout Orange County, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and even Phoenix, but called Hollywood, CA, their home. TAZ soon became one of Southern California’s top-drawing original Hard Rock bands, headlining most every night. The band quickly made a name for themselves with their high-energy live performances and catchy songwriting skills, combining pop, funk, alternative, metal, and glam. TAZ had also become regulars in well-known publications such as BAM, Hollywood Rocks, Rock City News, Screamer, Japan’s BURRN!, RIP, Metal Edge, Metal Forces, and so many more. TAZ was a big draw, and fans were lining up. TAZ had formed one of the hottest bands to hit the scene in years.
