BLACK STONE CHERRY Reveal New Single ‘Smile, World’

BLACK STONE CHERRY have revealed yet another taster taken from their eighth studio album, ‘Screamin’ At The Sky.’  The latest track, ‘Smile, World’ reminds everyone to raise the vibration and find the positive in their day.

The band tell us: “Smile, World is a song where its title says it all!  It’s something we think, in today’s climate especially, the world needs to do more of.  We ALL get overwhelmed, sad, mad, frustrated, etc… But sometimes the best thing to do is sit back, put things in perspective, and simply Smile, World!”

The Kentucky four-piece’s latest opus, ‘Screamin’ At The Sky’ is set for release on Friday 29th September via Mascot Records. The release will be available on white solid vinyl, a limited edition deluxe vinyl box set, limited edition blue vinyl (HMV exclusive), standard CD and digital formats and is available to pre-order here.

The band posed a question to their loyal Cherryheads, ‘What lights up your face?’, asking them to capture and submit a clip for the chance to be included in a montage for the song’s accompanying video.  Check out the final summation of all their smiles here: https://youtu.be/cF9yClnBEPA

After last month’s victorious headlining slot at Wales’ Steelhouse Festival, the Kentucky-based band, featuring Chris Robertson (lead vox/guitar), Ben Wells (guitar/bkg vox), drummer John-Fred Young (drums/bkg vox) and ‘new’ bassist, Steve Jewell Jr. (ex-Otis) are set to cross the pond once again in September, to celebrate the release of ‘Screamin’ At The Sky’ with a string of ‘already sold-out’ intimate shows at small capacity venues around the UK & Ireland.

In recent months, BLACK STONE CHERRY have dropped three other tracks from ‘Screamin’ At The Sky.’  Check out the lyric video for the title track here, the official video for ‘Nervous’ here and ‘Out of Pocket’ here.

‘Screamin’ At The Sky’ features all-new material written collaboratively while on tour, but when it came time to record, BSC tried something they’ve always dreamed of doing: tracking an album at The Plaza Theater in Glasgow, Kentucky – a legendary 1020-seat venue built in 1934 that boasts meticulous acoustics.  In June of 2022, the band rented the whole place, brought in all its recording equipment and trusty engineer, Jordan Westfall.  They set up the basement as the control room and the stage as the live drum room.  Time between recording sessions and incredible room ambience have resulted in a career high watermark for BSC.

BLACK STONE CHERRY’s last album, ‘The Human Condition’, released in October 2020 was their sixth consecutive No. 1 debut on the UK Rock Albums chart.  The album’s lead single, ‘Again’ was the band’s biggest single in over 10 years in America, peaking at #15, and their highest charting record ever in Canada, arriving Top 15. The album has racked-up over 50 million streams worldwide.  Down the years, BSC has headlined 12,000-cap arena shows and shared the stage with an array of superstars, including Alter Bridge, Def Leppard, Gov’t Mule, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Mötorhead, Halestorm, Stone Temple Pilots, The Darkness, and ZZ Top.  In 2018, BSC performed in front of 100,000 people at the Download Festival as main support to Guns N’ Roses and in 2021, the band played the venerated Royal Albert Hall, immortalised on 2022’s live DVD ‘Live From The Royal Albert Hall…Y’All’.

Stay tuned for even more new music from BLACK STONE CHERRY soon!

A melodically driven stoner punk track built up by hefty drums, smooth riffs and catchy lyrics, featuring Lou Koller from New York hardcore legends Sick of it All on vocals.

This is the first single from BOKASSA´s upcoming album, which was recorded by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Haunted, Halford) at Antfarm Studios in Denmark.

Listen here: https://orcd.co/bokassagoh

Bokassa comment:
«Garden of Heathen is a fast, riffy and melodic stonerpunker with one of our best choruses. A band favourite and a perfect way to kickstart a new album. There’s just something about the explosiveness of the track that makes it a real banging tune in our opinion. The fact that, the legend that is, Lou Koller from Sick Of It All appears on the track is nothing short of epic in our minds!»

The band who has built an impressive career through heavy touring, high technicality and unique punkified take on stoner metal, are now due for an extensive EU tour with heavy rock legends Therapy? in Nov. and Dec.

Therapy? released their impressive 16th album “Hard Cold Fire” in May.

Here´s Jørn from Bokassa note on the tour and Therapy? anno 2023:
«I already think «Poundland of Hope and Glory» is one of the best tunes of 2023 so the fact that we get to see it live 26 dates over UK and Europe with Therapy? alongside all their hits is awesome!»

SERENITY Return with Bombastic New Studio Album “Nemesis AD”

After welcoming Marco Pastorino as additional guitarist/backing vocalist and releasing their standalone single “Ritter, Tod und Teufel (Knightfall)”, Austrian symphonic metal force SERENITY have announced the release of their brand new studio album, entitled Nemesis AD. Their newest masterpiece will be released on October 27, 2023 via Napalm Records. Their previous studio album, The Last Knight (2020), which landed at #25 on the German album charts, and the band’s stunning 2022 live release, MEMORIA, contained SERENITY’s most iconic hits, such as “Wings of Madness” and “The Chevalier”, and have gathered over three million views on YouTube.

As a first glimpse of what can be expected, SERENITY unleash “The Fall of Man”, a mighty single off of the band’s new album, Nemesis AD! With vocal support from legendary singer Roy Khan (Conception, ex-Kamelot), the song is a sure future hit with fans old and new and is released alongside a fascinating lyric video.

Georg Neuhauser (vocals) on “The Fall of Man”:
“To welcome Roy Khan as a feature guest on the first single of our upcoming album is a great honor. We’re bound by a longstanding friendship between SERENITY and Kamelot, along with a strong personal connection. For me it’s really a dream coming true to collaborate with this outstanding and remarkable vocalist and to see how exceptionally well our voices complement each other.”

Known for their thematic albums inspired by historic characters and stories of the past, on Nemesis AD, SERENITY draw inspiration from the life and highly influential art of painter Albrecht Dürer of the German renaissance.

Grandiose intro track “Memoriae Alberti Dureri” sets the scene for the album, before legendary singer Roy Khan (Conception, ex-Kamelot) lends his impressive vocals on the mighty “The Fall of Man”. “Ritter, Tod und Teufel (Knightfall)” (named after Dürer’s famous artwork) features lyrics sung partially in German, for the first time in the band’s history spanning over more than two decades. The powerful track showcases SERENITY’s signature blend of orchestral arrangements, heavy guitar riffs, and soaring vocals. Heart-wrenchingly emotional yet empowering “Reflections (of AD)” mesmerizes the listener with its awe-inspiring instrumentation, multifaceted vocals and brilliant changes throughout the gripping eight-minute track. Theatrical “Sun of Justice” leads the listener to a faraway fantasy world while the vocal performance of skilled singer Georg Neuhauser ultimately unlocks the track’s hit potential. “The End of Babylon” represents one of the darker, heavier tracks on Nemesis AD – climactic arrangements carry the dramatic storyline. Monumental orchestral version of “The Fall of Man” closes the album on a thrilling note that is sure to send a chill up your spine.

With Nemesis AD, SERENITY adds yet another bombastic symphonic metal masterpiece to their notable discography – there is no doubt that the talented unit’s standing in the scene is well deserved.

SERENITY comment:
“We are always focused on historical themes. Our latest album The Last Knight (2020) was about Maximilian I and his era. The narrative unfolds further as we structured our new album around his contemporary Albrecht Dürer, who is one of the most revolutionary and remarkable artists of all time for us, representing a pivotal juncture between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, bridging Gothic and modern eras.”
