Finnish song Punainen Ovi is like a cool breeze on the heaven of rock. This new single starts with charming keyboards but grows into a bigger scale. This track obtains vibes from Heart-Dio combo when it mixes with RIICCA‘s soft, almost fairy-like, eccentric and a bit rebellious voice. And the massive guitar solo takes you back to the days when hair was bigger and pink scarfs hung from the microphone stand.

Riicca is a singer-songwriter from Turku, Finland. Her first single “Punainen Ovi” is a Finnish 80’s style rock. Destiny definitely spinned her fingers while making it possible for Riicca to head out from her work at the hospital and head in the studio where she and producer Timo Niemistö did some magic. The song was inspired by Heart/Dio-combo. Collaboration between these two will continue and new music will be released later this fall.
Line-up: Riikka Lehto – vocals Timo Niemistö – all instruments
As the last single before the release of their upcoming album NASTY have just unleashed the title track, “Heartbreak Criminals”. You can find it on all digital platforms as well as a visualizer done by their longtime friend Toni Grunert.
“It is a heavy hitting single with a massive catchy singalong for the broken hearted”, says the band about the song.
The quartet follow-up 2020’s “Menace” (2020) even more pissed off and with even more love in their hearts. Tracks like “Resurrection” and “Don’t Play with Fire” already illustrated NASTY’s growth as artists while continuing to hold the flag of “f*cked-up music for a f*cked-up world” high. Indeed, re-recording old-school, fan-favourite tracks “Declaring War” and “Chaos,” both off 2006’s “Declaring War”, connects NASTY’s brow-beaten dots from the beginning to who the group are today. Heartbreak Criminals is a sonic life lesson of fist-fights lost and battles hard won. NASTY are perseverance.
The band recently announced a special release show with Desolated, Words Of Concrete and Dogbite, so mark your calendars. 08.09.23 (DE) Essen – Turock

Long Island sludge metal trio RESTLESS SPIRIT have unleashed the steaming video single ‘All Furies’ taken from their forthcoming third album “Afterimage”. The new full-length is scheduled for release on October 6, 2023 via Magnetic Eye Records. The album pre-sale is now available at THIS LOCATION!
The heavy and psychedlic video clip ‘All Furies’ is now streaming at:
RESTLESS SPIRIT comment: “There will always be people who want to tell you how to feel, how to deal with things, how to live”, guitarist and singer Paul Aloisio observes. “The track ‘All Furies’ is a spit in the face to those types of people. After we released ‘Blood’, everyone kept noting the progressive nature of our sound, and we wanted to get away from that to keep things interesting.”

In the case of RESTLESS SPIRIT, the band name says it all, and in more than just one way. Their third album, “Afterimage”, embodies the East Coast trio’s aim of never wanting to sound exactly like before. Long Island deep-fried guitars meet pounding rhythms and emotionally raw vocals. Where the predecessor “Blood of the Old Gods” (2021) sometimes ushered the listener into twisted complexity, “Afterimage” delivers short, sharp shocks that hit straight home.
Lyrically, “Afterimage” is also born out of a restless spirit. Driven by tragedy and personal loss, singer and guitarist Paul Aloisio has put his heart and soul into the album. Confronted with a choice to deal with his pain in a healthy way or go down a destructive path, the singer and guitarist opted for the former but months later found his words to be prophetic for doing the latter. Deciding that artistry requires honesty, Alosio wanted to share his experience as a message to others in similar situations that they’re not alone in their despair. “Afterimage” might well be read as a cautionary tale.
Embarking on their musical journey very early in life, the band’s core of Aloisio and bassist Marc Morello met the summer before Kindergarten and grew up discovering music side by side. Channelling influences like BLACK SABBATH, TYPE O NEGATIVE, and THE SWORD and incorporating aggressive modern metal, unabashed stoner-doom pummelling, energetic changes, and stirring, earnest vocals, their band was finally christened RESTLESS SPIRIT in 2019. Their debut full-length “Lord of the New Depression” (2019) fit equally well into the stoner, doom, and sludge molds, while on “Blood of the Old Gods”, the three-piece developed a more varied, melodic approach with added complexity.
Discontent at being sometimes labelled ‘progressive’, RESTLESS SPIRIT, true contrarians that they are, avoided overly-long songs and excessive ornamentation on “Afterimage”, intentionally eliminating anything that might distract from the new album’s direct, crushing immediacy.
On the live front, the Long Island band has undertaken several tours in support of “Blood of the Old Gods” and shared stages with the likes of CROWBAR, THE OBSESSED and CANNIBAL CORPSE. They will return to the road in winter 2023/24 to present “Afterimage”.
With “Afterimage”, RESTLESS SPIRIT deliver a massive punch to the gut that actually feels damn great once the initial pain subsides.
Line-up Paul Aloisio – guitar, vocals Jon Gusman – drums Marc Morello – bass
Guest musicians Scott “Wino” Weinrich – guitars on ‘The Fatalist’ Mike Hill – vocals on ‘Shadow Command’

Italian maestros of modern melodic/symphonic metal TEMPERANCE will unleash their new concept album, Hermitage – Daruma’s Eyes Pt. 2, on October 20, 2023 via Napalm Records! During their successful European tour with Tarja (ex-Nightwish) this spring, the band introduced its new lineup and proved once and for all that this new arrangement is more than just convincing.
Expanding the characteristic sound of the band with a new member – professional opera/metal singer and vocal coach Kristin Starkey – the essence of charismatic singer Michele Guaitoli (Visions of Atlantis) and mastermind singer/guitarist Marco Pastorino (Serenity) reaches a higher level. Guest musicians like Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon), Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie, Illumishade), Laura Fella (Faun) and Alessandro Conti (Twilight Force) complement the exciting journey of the new album.
Today, the five-piece have finally released their new single, “Daruma”, together with a colorful official music video that perfectly introduces the mood and exciting story of the multifaceted album. Galloping guitar passages open the single while the album narrator and multitalented Arjen Lucassen guides through the catchy melodies. The dark timbre of singer Kristin Starkey introduces the villain Anningan, who will turn the life of the album’s protagonist Viktor upside down.
Singer Kristin Starkey on “Daruma”: “I’m so excited for you to hear our new single called “Daruma”. It not only sets the stage for the dramatic storytelling of our new album, Hermitage: Daruma’s Eyes Pt. II, but also marks the beginning of my chapter with TEMPERANCE. I really believe our new sound will be loved by fans new and old, and I am looking forward to your feedback! See you on the road.”
Catapulted into another era by finding the Japanese doll, Daruma, protagonist Viktor wakes up in a magical village called Hermitage, exploring its secrets track by track. Getting into a fight between the siblings Anningan and Irin, only Viktor’s destiny is the key to their conflict. “Welcome To Hermitage” presents the magical world of Hermitage with fairytale-like flutes, twinkling chime elements, and the vocal arrangements of singers Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie, Illumishade) and Laura Fella (Faun). “No Return” glances with the band’s characteristic sing-along refrain and operatic fragments while the track “Join Me” ranges from marvelous vocal harmonies to grand compositions. The spellbinding “Darkness is just a Drawing” and uplifting “Full Of Memories” gather the atmosphere of Hermitage – Daruma’s Eyes Pt. 2 once again, before “Cliff” closes the album with rising melodies, epic orchestration arrangements, and inimitable vocal spotlights. The concept album was produced by TEMPERANCE guitarist and singer Marco Pastorino and mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (Luca Turilli, Michael Romeo, Twilight Force) at Domination Studio in San Marino. Come explore Viktor’s legacy!
Guitarist and singer Marco Pastorino on the upcoming album, Hermitage – Daruma’s Eyes Pt. 2: “We are so excited about this new chapter called Hermitage. Personally, I’ve dreamed of writing a real concept album like this since the release of the suite called Daruma’s Eyes Pt 1 on the album Of Jupiter and Moons, and finally, we made it – a complete story with six characters (represented by six singers) plus such a great narrator. We decided to change the production team, 100% from Italy; we worked together with Simone Mularoni on the mixing, as we did in the first three albums of the band, plus for the very first time, I worked together with someone else for the orchestrations: Daniele Mazza, the mastermind of Ancient Bards. The artwork also was made by the talented artist Giada Belviso. Get ready for a journey through magic and dreams, and welcome to Hermitage.”
Hermitage – Daruma’s Eyes Pt. 2 Tracklist: 1. Daruma 2. Glorious 3. A Hero Reborn 4. Welcome to Hermitage 5. No Return 6. In Search of Gold 7. Join Me 8. Trust no one but You 9. Darkness is just a Drawing 10. Into the Void 11. Brand new Start 12. Where we Belong 13. Full of Memories 14. Cliff

Austrian heavy metal outfit ROADWOLF unleash a new lyric video for the track “Mark of The Devil”, taken from their electrifying second full-length, Midnight Lightning, released in May 2023 via Napalm Records! ROADWOLF’s new offering again confirms the band’s standing as one of the current metal bands that keep the true spirit of heavy metal alive and honors the legacy of old school heavy metal legends such as Judas Priest and Saxon. Exciting their fans in Brazil, the band will releaseMidnight Lightning for the first time as a physical copy on August 22, 2023 via Hellion!
Riveting “Mark of the Devil” showcases ROADWOLF‘s songwriting abilities, with multiple Iron Maiden-inspired solos and dynamic changes throughout the track, and takes the listener on an exhilarating heavy metal journey. The accompanying lyric video comes with vigorous visuals.
ROADWOLF on “Mark of The Devil”: “Prepare yourself for one of the heaviest tracks of our latest album Midnight Lightning! Bang your head to this foot stomping, headbanging worship of old school heavy music, swirling in a cauldron of screaming guitars, searing hot vocals and a fist pumping drum and bass onslaught! Don’t you turn your backs… on the ‘Mark of The Devil’!”
ROADWOLF sold their souls to traditional heavy metal – showcased on title track “Midnight Lightning”, which brings out their power with soaring vocals and scorching guitar solos, reminiscent of Judas Priest. “High Under Pressure” races along with a blistering pace that is further enhanced with great dueling guitar and saxophone solos. “Sons Of The Golden Horde” showcases another powerful song with lyrics of historic wars, reminiscent of Iron Maiden’s great historical anthems. “Don’t Deliver Us From Evil” uplifts with pure energy and catchy choruses that will have the whole crowd singing along. ROADWOLF keeps on rolling with another grooving track in “Running Out Of Time”. Bringing out their Motörhead influence on “Savage Child”, the song showcases the band’s speed metal skills, as well as catchy choruses with small alterations to keep it interesting with each repeat. Last but not least, the album concludes with the slow but beautiful ballad “Isolated Hearts”, featuring clean guitar reverb and soft piano underscoring powerful vocals singing of fading hearts in the face of warfare. SOEN have released the piercing new single ‘Violence’, which is taken from their forthcoming album Memorial, set for release on September 1st via Silver Lining Music. For pre-orders go to this location.
Founding member and singer Joel Ekelöf comments, “Violence touches the topic of coercion, whether it is physical or mental. Violence can sometimes be delivered very cautiously in ways that don’t give room for a reaction but with the passing of time will destroy your confidence and self-regard.”
The new track is as biting and abrasive as its theme along with a melodic grace that transcends across the whole of the new album.
“It’s a different song for us musically speaking, it’s very direct and full of darkness and anger.” Adds co-founding member and drummer Martin Lopez.

Never ones to take the restrained path, Soen face down the ills and ways of current society with a crisp, wounded venom that betrays their pain, anger and frustrations. Each guitar carries a greater serrated edge, each melody a richer heart, each lyric a soul and spleen venting definitive proclamation. At the same time, Soen’s unique blend of progression, aggression, and beauty shows more maturity than ever before.
Soen have been building up to this moment for years and now they’re here with Memorial, which is an inspiring modern hard rock classic.
Following their incredible performances at this year’s summer festivals across Europe, Soen, completed by Lars Enok Åhlund (Keyboards and Guitar), Oleksii ‘Zlatoyar’ Kobel (Bass) and Cody Ford (Lead Guitar), will be heading out on their ‘Memorial’ European tour, which will kick off in September in Odense, Denmark.
Today the band are excited to announce twenty-five new dates seeing them bring Memorial to the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tour will kick-off in May 2024 in Chicago, Illinois.
