Iconic death/black metal, punk, grindcore- sludge fusionists KDVRFCKR have unleashed a first single taken off their upcoming studio album! Perfect in time to celebrate their 30th band anniversary this year, the four-piece will release their new album, titled “Superkiller (A Musical Journey Between Life And Death)” on September 29th, 2023 via Massacre Records. Available as Jewel Case CD, Ltd. Vinyl 2-LP and Digital formats, the album pre-sale hast just recently started at THIS LOCATION!

About their first single, the band comments: “Lyrically, the song deals with loss, the fear of loss and failed relationships, and the resulting psychological problems. No matter how much you fight against it, the inner demons always catch up with you and cause an oppressive atmosphere in your self. The inspiration for this results from own experiences… who would have thought it.”

The 30th anniversary of a band constitutes a point in time which affords reflecting. Back on a journey that – not unlike the passage from cradle to grave – is marked by both valleys of suffering and heights of ecstasy. “Superkiller” is a musical and lyrical manifest that attempts to portray this journey, told in 21 furious, new songs in four chapters.

The upcoming KDVRFCKR album was mixed and mastered by Jörg Uken at Soundlodge, and will also feature several guest musician appearances from such as Zagan (Black Messiah), Jens of Slaughterday and many more!

JADED TRUTH Announce New EP + Unleash First Single ‘The Shake-Up’

Canadian rockers JADED TRUTH have announced their new EP “Bitter” and unleashed the first single for ‘The Shake-Up’.

“The Shake-Up is a throwback to the early 90’s era of Rock. Inspired by the likes of Alice in chains, Soundgarden, & Nirvana”. Check it out here:

With their new EP “Bitter” the band has written 6 tracks which are definitive of their sound with elements of grunge, metal, punk, & stoner rock. The EP is scheduled for a September 8th release.

Jaded Truth was formed in 2019 in St John’s Newfoundland. It all began when Kyle Woodland & Aaron Jones were looking for a drummer after the demise of their previous band. They soon recrutied Michael Small behind the kit and began writing songs. Influenced by the 90’s bands of seattle such as Nirvana & Alice in chains, jaded truth has a heavy & dirty sound with influences of punk & metal.

2020 the band released their debut album Rx, which was a concept album about insomnia & addiction. They soon followed up in 2021 with Tsukimono which was mastered by legendary grunge producer Jack Endino.

September 15, 2023 sees the UK-based band DAMNATION’S HAMMER release their much-awaited, forthcoming magnum opus titled “Into The Silent Nebula” via Massacre Records. The album will be available as CD Digipak, Ltd. Vinyl LP and Digital formats and can be pre-ordered at THIS LOCATION!

Following the previously-released, first single, “Sutter Cane“ (feat. MY DYING BRIDE’s Aaron Stainthorpe), now, DAMNATION’S HAMMER have shared a lyric video for the fierce track “Outpost 31”, that features Fenriz of iconic DARKTHRONE! The band comments:

“Based on John Carpenter’s 1982 classic horror film “The Thing”. The movie starts with two Norwegians in a helicopter shooting at a dog, they land on the US Antarctic base – Outpost 31 – and shout a warning to the Americans “Get away you idiots – it’s not a dog, it’s some sort of thing!” The Norwegian voice in the song is from Fenriz from Darkthrone!”

Building on the foundations set by their previous 2019-album, “Unseen Planets, Deadly Spheres”, on their third album, DAMNATION’S HAMMER unleash eight songs of relentless heavy metal, incorporating the band’s trademark doom-laden groove.

Once again produced by Mark Mynett, “Into The Silent Nebula” will feature guest appearances from Rotting Christ’s Sakis, Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride and Fenriz from Darkthrone.

I HELVETE Release New Single ‘Uuden Ajan ABC’, Second Album “Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta” Out in November

Combining melodic black and death metal, i HELVETE has released the first single Uuden Ajan ABC from their upcoming second album Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta. The concept album tells the story of a movement that sees the direction of the modern world as doomed. Preserving the sustainability of the planet requires extensive and radical actions – and not everyone can survive.

The band from Seinäjoki, Finland released their debut album Sinisten Puiden Niitty two years ago. i Helvete’s new single Uuden Ajan ABC is now available on all streaming services and its lyric video on YouTube. Anna Pellikka, who also guested on the debut album, is responsible for the female vocals in the song. 

Singer-guitarist Aleksi Mäkelä comments:

“Uuden Ajan ABC was the first completed song from our second album. From the beginning it was a very strong ensemble and a single candidate. The song contains memorable riffs, female vocals and mood changes. The opening riff was played and felt for a long time before it got surrounded by other stuff. Originally, the song actually contained a completely separate outro, but when we arranged the song with Tapio, he came up with the idea that it should go back to the stuttering atmosphere of the verses instead of the new outro. Manu added an atmospheric guitar solo to it and thus the end of the song became much better! Lyrically, Uuden Ajan ABC serves as a good starting point for the concept album world, even though it’s only the third song on the actual album.”

Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta will be published on 24th of November 2023 via Inverse Records. Before the album release, the band promises to release two more singles. The album was mixed and mastered by Second To Sun frontman Vladimir Lehtinen, who is known for e.g. as Grima and Ultar‘s sound engineer.

“The composition process of our second album was surprisingly fast. After the release of the first album, it probably took a half year for this album to be composed. Of course, the recordings and other processes related to the album release still took their own time. YYY is perhaps a bit more straightforward compared to the debut album. We wanted to keep the sound world as authentic as possible, and in the recordings we tried to find the most ready sounds for the instruments. In addition to traditional band instruments, the album features violin, accordion, piano and mandolin. Instead of virtual instruments, we wanted these to be real for the record, and we used session musicians to record them. I think the sound of the album is really successful.” Mäkelä continues.

Gloomy patterns, addictive moods and melodic, unconventional music. That’s how Finnish extreme metal band i Helvete swallows the listener to the edge of Northern Darkness. The band took its first breath in 2018 by releasing double-single “Pimeyden Ytimessä / Umpikuja”. After two years of writing new material i Helvete grew from duo to a full band and went back to the studio to record their praised concept debut album “Sinisten Puiden Niitty” in 2021. Consisting of experienced musicians, i Helvete hasn’t played any gigs yet – it’s left to wait for the right moment. Instead, the band has focused on making new music. The second concept album “Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta” will see the light in November 2023.

Datalysium, the latest full-length from progressive death metal outfit THE ZENITH PASSAGE, shook Billboard charts upon its first week of release, earning the #4 position on Top New Artists Albums chart! Additional Billboard chart positions include:

Featuring an overhauled lineup that sees original guitarist/keyboardist/backing vocalist Justin McKinney joined by guitarist Christopher Beattie (Dreamer), vocalist Derek Rydquist (ex-The Faceless, John Frum), and bassist Brandon Giffin (ex-The Faceless, Cynic), Datalysium finds THE ZENITH PASSAGE further pushing disparate influences to the forefront of their sound.
