Frontman Johan Hegg sheds light on the mythological significance of “Heidrun“:

“Heidrun is an interesting mythological character, it’s a goat that stands on the roof of Valhalla eating the leaf of the big tree Lärad. The milk that she gives is the honey/mead that the warriors in Valhalla drink each night. The lyrics themselves are both about Vikings travelling the world but also metaphorically what it is to be a touring musician.”

BURNING WITCHES Reveal Smoldering Live Video for ‘Unleash The Beast’

Before hitting the stage at the world famous Wacken Festival tomorrow, Swiss heavy metal band BURNING WITCHES have revealed a blazing live performance video for the attacking track “Unleash The Beast”, cut from their recent fifth full-length, The Dark Tower! After storming the charts with their new album and peaking at #3 in Switzerland, BURNING WITCHES showcase their explosive live energy with the brand-new video, filmed at one of their album release shows in Oberhausen this spring.

But there is even more exciting news from the witches’ hut: after stepping in for guitarist Larissa Ernst as stand-in during her maternity leave, shredder queen Courtney Cox (The Iron Maidens) has now joined the band as a full member. Welcome to the coven, Courtney!

Courtney Cox comments:

ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ – the former recording artist for Down Boys Records, which belonged to Erik Turner and Jerry Dixon from the legendary American band Warrant – has been releasing a lot of new material in the past few months. This time, he presents a captivating three-part instrumental composition, a special new demo titled “Modern Blues Riot” under the moniker Citovitz and The Fireflies of February.

Citowicz enthusiastically shares, “This is a lost demo from my recording session for the album ‘Never Ending Storms.’ While it may not be the finished product, it’s a treasure that deserves to be shared, rather than collecting digital dust. Imagine the ethereal, glassy tones of a Stratocaster blending with the powerful beats of modern metal drums. With “Never Ending Storms”, Citowicz wanted to create an album that tells a story and takes listeners on a journey through his life experiences and emotions. “My music is like a diary of my life,” says Citowicz. “I wanted to express my deepest emotions through the guitar and create something that people can connect with on a personal level.”

The album’s title, “Never Ending Storms”, reflects Citowicz’s belief that life is a journey filled with challenges and obstacles. “Life can be tough, but it’s important to keep pushing forward,” says Citowicz. “The storms may never end, but we can learn to navigate them and find beauty in the chaos.”

BOSPARANS FALL Release ‘Dunkle Zeiten’ Video Clip

Since the end of May, “Götterspiel: Dunkle Zeiten”, the new album by the southern German RPG melodic death metallers BOSPARANS FALL, has been in the stores. With their melodic death metal, influenced by the role-playing game “Das Schwarze Auge” (The Black Eye), the quintet has obviously hit the nerve of the listeners; the debut longplayer and also the live debut at the Aaargh Festival met with positive feedback almost without exception.

Swedish six-piece AMARANTHE announced the release of their upcoming album The Catalyst live on stage after their bedazzling performance on Wacken’s main stage.
