Up-and-coming German speed metal outfit KNIFE have unleashed another boisterous new single, “Night Vision”, together with an imprisoning official music video. Greeting demons with merciless, heavy guitar riffs and inciting the restless storm of raging singer Vince Nihil, the smoking hot video keeps the rebels trapped in an unyielding steel cage.

KNIFE on “Heaven Into Dust”:
“Bangers! When the night is darkest, the only light is the strike of the KNIFE. ‘Night Vision’ is the second assault from our new album, Heaven Into Dust. Aggression and power are unleashed, like a wild animal escaping from a cage. This is the essence of the pure KNIFE metal. A vision divine!”

Formed in 2019, the band defied the pandemic – quickly establishing their standing in the scene with their acclaimed self-titled debut record, Knife (2021). Now, the quartet delivers their sharpest blade with the new album and Napalm Records debut, Heaven Into Dust, out August 25, 2023! Fans can look forward to their furious set at Wacken Open Air or several tour dates with Sodom at the end of the year.

KNIFE’s new album kicks off with dramatic organ tunes and unsettling whispers. Album opener “Hawks Of Hades” sets the tone for their newest chapter. Raspy punk screams rule the darkness together with an eclectic arrangement. Followed by the rousing track “Night Vision”, remarkable classic rock riffs build its foundation while unbridled drums hustle along with shredding guitars. Topped by a catchy, raw refrain, vocalist Vince Nihil fits in perfectly with the fiery demonic atmosphere. Unleashing their 80’s hard rock and heavy metal influences on songs like “With Torches They March” and “Black Oath and Spells”, they showcase the band’s skill in creating remarkable choruses, characterized by soaring vocals, scorching guitar solos and leading drum strokes. KNIFE keeps on rolling with dynamic changes on the album closer “No Gods in the Dark” – featuring unbending, shrieking screams dueling with shredding riffs before the instrumental finale fades out. With Heaven Into Dust, the band has truly sharpened their tools and gets the listener’s heart pumping instantly while keeping the devil’s horns alive.

MÉLANCOLIA Share Video for Album Title Track ‘HissThroughRottenTeeth’

Melbourne-based blackened deathcore group MÉLANCOLIA share the video for ‘HissThroughRottenTeeth‘, the title track from their debut album of the same name released April 21st via Greyscale Records and Nuclear Blast Records.

‘HissThroughRottenTeeth‘ immerses listeners in a torturous tale of birth, life, and death, chronicling a fallen deity cast down from a godly realm and met with the punishment of reincarnating as a human with a wealth of knowledge yet stripped entirely of power. Track seven of eight, ‘HissThroughRottenTeeth‘, guides the album through to its crescendo, and the end of the first mortal cycle. Watch here.

“The song has always made us feel low, dreary and woeful – not quite awake and not quite dreaming, stuck in a horrible limbo somewhere between,” tells vocalist Alex Hill.

“The video represents that visually with low lighting and moody red hotel scenery, like a comedown from the worst night of your life. The title track is the breaking point for the album’s main character and the realization there is nowhere to go but low.”

MÉLANCOLIA sink their teeth into their monstrous storyline with eerie passages, guttural deliveries, and grotesque visuals, dispensing pure dread through their music. The quartet will share their vision live later this month as they support TO THE GRAVE on the Destroy All Lines presented ‘Director’s Cuts East Coast Tour‘ alongside STARVE and THE WANDERING. MÉLANCOLIA will showcase their live show for the first time to audiences in Sydney and Brisbane and will perform to a sold-out hometown crowd in Melbourne. Tickets on sale now.

They will also make their first festival appearance at Adelaide’s Froth & Fury Festival in November, joining the likes of THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SUNK LOTO, and more.

After establishing themselves just last year with the single ‘Horror_Ethereal‘. the band announced in February their signing to both Greyscale Records for Australia and New Zealand and Nuclear Blast for the rest of the world. MÉLANCOLIA may be fresh out the gates but they’re miles from the start line as the four-piece have crafted a unique sound that has already catapulted them to new heights.

MÉLANCOLIA unveiled their second single ‘[Inure]‘ alongside their album announcement in early March, which invited listeners into MÉLANCOLIA’s world of unease and doom, thematically inspired by sadomasochism and how it’s often used as a tactic to feel after experiencing a sense of numbness for so long.

MÉLANCOLIA echo a tormented entity trapped within the claws of despair, angst, and unnerving melancholy. Like messengers of darkness, Alex Hill takes his place at the forefront as vocalist, Joshua Taafe and Billy Morris join the fold as guitarists with Mason Page on drums. Storming through the gates of 2023 with a vengeance, MÉLANCOLIA played their first-ever show with THY ART IS MURDER on their ‘Decade Of Hate Australian Tour’ in January alongside STARVE and JUSTICE FOR THE DAMNED.

HissThroughRottenTeeth is streaming everywhere via Greyscale Records and Nuclear Blast.  Order your copy of HISSTHROUGHROTTENTEETH, here:

Guitarist Per Nilsson comments: “Xenotaph concludes Phase II in an open-ended way, leaving the listener on a bit of a cliffhanger musically as well as lyrically. About SCAR SYMMETRY

Formed in Sweden in 2004, SCAR SYMMETRY were a unique proposition from the start. Although clearly owing a debt to the pioneering melodic death metal bands of the ‘90s, guitarist Per Nilsson and his comrades were walking their own evolutionary path. As showcased on 2005 debut Symmetric In Design, the band were driven by fervently progressive and proudly melodic instincts, infusing their often brutal riffs and arrangements with wild, futuristic atmospherics, and sublime, emotional melodies that always hit their targets with ruthless precision.

As SCAR SYMMETRY moved forward, their music continued to evolve in tandem. They joined forces with Nuclear Blast Records for 2006’s breakthrough opus Pitch Black Progress (2006), and have since amassed an extraordinary catalogue of forward-thinking but irrevocably crushing modern metal. From the glossy, hyper-melodic barrage of Holographic Universe (2008), to the immaculate thunder of The Unseen Empire (2011) and the astonishing, cosmic odyssey that is The Singularity (Phase I – Neohumanity) (2014). the Swedes have blown minds and enhanced their reputation with every artistic step.

Roberth Karlsson – Vocals
Lars Palmqvist – Vocals
Per Nilsson – Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards

HARM’S WAY to Release New Album “Common Suffering” on September 29th, Video for Lead Single Revealed

For nearly two decades, HARM’S WAY have evolved from whispered underground favourites to favourite sons with an arsenal of songs that helped shape heavy music’s trajectory – creating a roadmap for legions interested in “reinventing” themselves. Harm’s Way has never stayed complacent and constantly morphed shape- absorbing and reapplying influences in new and creative ways to create some of the most well-executed songs in hardcore punk and metal. And yet, considering the changeling that they and their previous efforts are, Common Suffering is easily the most musically diverse undertaking in their catalogue. The album beams with incredibly memorable riffs, breakdowns, and impeccable songwriting with subtle melody and point/counter-point which kicks off loud and clear on album opener “Silent Wolf“; released today.

“‘Silent Wolf’ was birthed out of observing a sense of persistent distrust in governing bodies and systems of power in our current cultural climate,” tells vocalist James Pligge. “It speaks on the faith, or lack of faith, many have in these systems and an overall feeling of inertia and paranoia with status quo operations… leading many to the question: ‘what is really informing our reality?“

Despite Harm’s Way‘s reputation for unrelenting brutality, Common Suffering surprises at several turns with quieter moments of well thought out songwriting that emphasize light and shade. It’s their understanding of how to effectively orchestrate these dynamics that makes an already ironclad record feel infinitely more merciless. This is Harm’s Way at the top of their game – the ambitious sound of a band traversing new ideas. “We really tried not to settle on parts,” recalls guitarist Nick Gauthier. “Sometimes a direction that we could have taken in a song felt too obvious… We would just troubleshoot that until we felt creatively satisfied with the direction we were taking.”

The key to the success may be a shift to recording at Studio 4 in Pennsylvania with producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Code Orange). Going into the recording, the goal was to improve some of the band’s processes, examine vocal cadences and experiment during production to gain the best idea from each track. The first change dealt with refocusing members on their specific wheelhouses. While Pligge had previously assisted with riffs, on this effort, his main objective was to ensure the perfect vocal attack- leaning into Yip for advice and letting the remainder of the band take the wheel with their respective parts. The result is each player pushing to the far reaches and creating material that has previously never been colonized by any band, or hardcore writ large, before.

The title Common Suffering is a clear nod to the collective experiences of the past three years of chaos, misanthropy, paranoia, disorder, confusion and anxiety, with the band exploring themes ranging from personal struggles with mental health, relationships, political upheaval, corruption, and political power. Pligge digs deep into these subjects such as the track “Cyanide,” which examines the expansion of media outlets, the correlative rise of disinformation, and the pervasive impact it has on people’s lives and systems of power. Additional tracks include “Devour,” which examines the impact of toxic people in one’s life, the highly personal “Hollow Cry,” where Pligge explores his own humanity and relationships, and the somewhat improbable “Undertow,” which features the haunting vocals or Kristina Esfandiari–AKA King Woman–who adds a whole new dimension to the record and helps exhibit the band’s willingness to push into uncharted territory.

Common Suffering sees its release September 29 across all digital streaming platforms, vinyl and CD formats via Metal Blade Records. See below for variant options.

From AI-assisted artwork designs to the thematic exploration of unlimited possibilities in the title track, this modern trend runs throughout the entire album.
