TRESPASS Unleash New Album “Wolf At The Door”, Out Now

Five years after “Footprints In The Rock”, NWOBHM unsung heroes TRESPASS are back today with a superb new album entitled “Wolf At The Door”. Encompassing issues and subjects close to their hearts – especially environmental themes – the album was written by founding member, guitar player and vocalist Mark Sutcliffe at his home studio, being later recorded at Crooks Hall Studios, all in the wilds of Suffolk. Nigel Palmer (Raging Speedhorn, Satan’s Empire) then polished altogether in Lowland Masters.

This typical British environment helped Trespass maintain their NWOBHM signature twin-guitar sound, while having a drive and energy in the rhythm section that transports them right back into the 20s. The artwork, by Mark Wilkinson (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) put the final touch in a release that won’t disappoint the old-school fans, as well as new ones.

“Wolf At The Door” is out today on LP (black vinyl, limited to 500), CD and digital formats. Orders are available here.

“Wolf At The Door” tracklist:

1. Blackthorn
2. Daggers Drawn
3. Force Of Nature
4. Other Worlds
5. Ghost Pilot
6. Back To The Woods
7. Crooked Cross
8. Unsinkable
9. Stranger In Paradise
10. Live Like A King
11. Wolf At The Door

Trespass was formed in 1979 in Sudbury, Suffolk by Mark Sutcliffe (guitar, vocals) and his brother Paul on drums. The band enjoyed success and critical acclaim as part of the New wave of British Heavy Metal in the early 80s, although it has only released a few singles and an EP – the cult “Bright Lights”, from 1981. Songs such as “One Of These Days”, “Stormchild” and “Bright Lights” have made their mark.

In the 90s, Trespass was back in full action and in 1993 the band finally released their long-awaited debut album “Head”, helping keep the NWOBHM flame alive in a dark decade for traditional metal. The second album, self-titled, surfaced in 2015, and the group didn’t need another decade for a follow-up, with “Footprints In The Rock” being released three years after, with reactions, confirming that Trespass music is still enjoyed by rock and metal fans all over the world. While preparing the next full-length release, Trespass is currently rehearsing a set of classics old and new, for UK and European shows next year.

“Wolf At The Door” was released on LP (black vinyl, limited to 500), CD and digital formats via From The Vaults on May 26th, 2023.

Drummer Gil Moore: “Triumph Is Planning On Mixed Reality Tour & Documentary Pt2”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 28, 2023

Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently visited and interviewed founder, drummer of Triumph Gil Moore at the legendary Metalworks studio in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

In the chat Moore talked about the future plans of Triumph consisting of a mixed reality tour and part 2 of Rock and Roll Machine documentary. Moore also gave his thoughts on Artificial intelligence in music today and for the future.

When asked if there will a Rock and Roll Machine Documentary part 2
“I think so. I’m probably the only person that thinks that because I remember when we were filming this one (Rock and Roll Machine) I said to Sam Dunn who was the co-director, I said you know we got to keep some of this b-roll here because we’re going to do another one. And he’s like don’t get ahead of yourself and I said hey man my whole career I’ve been ahead of myself that’s how I had a career, so let’s stay with that. I have a plan to do a mixed reality tour for Triumph and I’m very serious about that. I’m working with our lighting director Paul Dexter at Masterworks in Los Angeles. He’s unbelievable and he’s kind of The Godfather of holograms, this is not a hologram Tour by any means. But we are going to use a form of holography or three-dimensional recreation to do this. There’s a lot of Technology involved. Let’s put it this way, it’s not going to be like anything that anybody’s ever seen before if Paul and I get our way with the way we’re developing the content that’s going to be seen. It’s going to be something that’ll blow people’s minds and it’ll be Triumph through and through. I don’t want to say too much other than, the key is, think of mixed reality and what that means, no glasses, no tricks that way. All the tricks will be coming from the stage. but we’ve got some phenomenal plans. All the music is pre-recorded, it’s all from live shows but it will be custom tailored to this particular performance l and it involves some actors. And involves footage of Mike, Rik and Gill and Recreations of Mike Rik and Gill and some of the coolest things that people are going to see in the touring Market, I can tell you that. I have a lot of things that I’m working on that I’m passionate about in the education field and so on for music so I don’t have the bandwidth for another Triumph tour at this stage and you know Mike and Rick have different things they’re doing as well .This is a way to give something to the fans that we know will absolutely knock them right off their chairs. ”

When asked to clarify if this sequel to the Documentary will consist of new video footage
“I think there’ll be a tiny bit of the archival footage that’s already in the can from the first documentary that was not stuff that wasn’t used. But I would say there’s gonna be a lot of new footage and it’s going to tie into this tour so I think that the footage that is related to the tour and how we develop the technology that we came up with. And stuff that’s really unusual like some of our technical partners like Microsoft is helping us for example. People would be like what? Yeah Microsoft Microsoft mixed reality yeah they’re really happening you know they’re really helping Triumph, so yeah pretty cool stuff. “

AXS TV USA is airing our Doc, Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine, over Memorial Day weekend. Tune in on Sunday, May 28th at 12pm ET!

Can’t watch this weekend? Mark your calendar! Doc will re-air on July 1st at 3:30pm ET.

Between 1975-1988, Triumph – singer/guitarist Rik Emmett, singer/drummer Gil Moore, and Levine – rocked the world, and in the process, gave us countless classic hard rock anthems (“Fight the Good Fight,” “Hold On,” “Magic Power,” “Lay It On the Line,” “A World of Fantasy,” etc.) and albums (Just a Game, Progressions of Power, Allied Forces, Never Surrender, Thunder Seven, etc.).

LOST ZONE Premiere Music Video for Acoustic Version of ‘Other Side’ Feat. Tracy Merano

After the Italian alternative rock trio, LOST ZONE, just recently shared an acoustic version of “Burst Like A Dynamite”, today, the band is premiering a stunning version of their song “Other Side (acoustic)”, featuring Tracy Merano on guest vocals! Both tracks will be released with their upcoming new CD edition, entitled Resilience – Full Circle, due out on July 14, 2023 via Drakkar Entertainment / Soulfood Music, and containing nine exclusive acoustic versions and 11 powerful rock tracks.

“The original version of “Other Side” is definitely one of the heaviest songs, which we have written so far, but the basic core of the title is very emotional. It’s about that one important person bringing you back to the “other side” again and again. That’s why we liked the idea of trying out the combination of a male and female voice. We just wrote to Tracy, sent her a demo and she was immediately up for the project.” LOST ZONE singer Florian reveals.

Like “Burst Like Dynamite (acoustic)”, the new LOST ZONE music video was shot at the Pavillon des Fleurs in Merano, South Tyrol, while the band was supported by various session musicians on the piano, violin and also on the acoustic guitar. Watch the new video clip for “Other Side (acoustic)”, featuring Tracy Merano here:

Ever since LOST ZONE debuted with their first EP, followed by Resilience in March 2022, putting the band into a bracket has never been an easy task as they include influences from rock, core but also pop elements into their music. Balancing between brutal, mean riffs and heavy beats, heartfelt ballads, a cover of Linkin Park’s In The End ( with more than a half milion views to date ), between alternative rock, metal core to almost covering the musical spectrum in its entirety, subtle similarities to Bring Me The Horizon, 30 Seconds To Mars and Linkin Park could be noticed. Vocalist / guitarist Florian said: „It’s impossible to fully hide our influences, but we do our very own thing.“

This is underlined by the fact that the Italian three-piece entirely writes, records and produces their music themselves. Drummer Simon reveals, “In 2017 we built our own studio, in order to work on our project independently.“

On July 14, 2023, the band comes full circle with their new, enthralling version of Resilience – Full Circle, the pre-sale has just started via Drakkar Entertainment at THIS LOCATION!

Resilience – Full Circle track listing:

  1. Leftovers

Finland’s hippie metal superstars EGOKILLS have set the release date of their third album, simply titled Egokills, on September 8th 2023.

”The third bunch of great Egokills songs is finally ready! There’s darkness, there’s light and there’s the balance between. We’re super proud of the record and can’t wait to get to play the songs live”, the band comments.

The album was produced by Matti Lötjönen and recorded mostly at Fantom Studio. The vocals were produced by Olli Anttila at Astral Studio.

Egokills just finished a succesful Baltic tour with two other quality bands from Finland, Black Royal and Atlases.

”We had a blast, and it was a priviledge to share the stage with such great bands and fantastic people. We belong on stage and are determined to tour extensively to support the new album!”

New single Feeble is online today. Mostly written by Pasi Viitala, it is a riff-driven song with a banging chorus. Viitala also delivers a fuzzy guitar solo on the track. Janne Selo’s lyrics tell a relatable tale about the darker moments of life.

ASTRALBORNE Share New Single + Music Video ‘Nocturneous’

ASTRALBORNE have shared their new single and music video, Nocturneous. Nocturneous is the second track to be taken from the Midwest melodic death metal trio’s forthcoming sophomore album, Across the Aeons, and features a guest guitar solo by Steve Redmond (FORETOKEN). Across the Aeons is due out via Prosthetic Records on July 28.

Stream Nocturneous via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify.
Pre-order Across the Aeons here.

Speaking on the album announcement and Nocturneous, ASTRALBORNE comments: “We’re very excited to share this song after years of intense work. Nocturneous is another heavy and high-energy track filled with face-melting solos and a fat infectious chorus. It takes the ASTRALBORNE recipe of harmonized twin guitars, blistering drums, and earth-shaking vocals, and amplifies it by a thousand.”

FORETOKEN‘s Steve Redmond adds: “It was an honor working with my friends in ASTRALBORNE to create the solo on this killer track. When they asked if I’d like to contribute it was a no-brainer. I’m stoked for everyone to hear it!”

After their 2020 debut album, Eternity’s End, introduced ASTRALBORNE as accomplished purveyors of both compellingly intricate melodicism and dexterous brutality in equal measure, Across the Aeons’ creative process began immediately following their lauded first full-length release. Commencing writing in spring of 2020, the group soon found themselves expanding upon the more grandiose passages of their sonic foundations, with conscious efforts made to accommodate cellist and composer Kakophonix’s contributions.

Recorded by bassist and vocalist Paul Fuzinki in 2021 between Call of the Yeti Studio in Swanton, OH and North Shore Studios in Fife Lake, MI, Across the Aeons was then mixed by Unnus Latif at Black Moon Recordings, Columbus, OH and mastered by Orden Ogan’s Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann at Greenman Studios in Germany. The end result of production sees ASTRALBORNE’s knack for lofty fretwork and rhythmic pummel shine among sanguine acoustic arrangements and beguiling orchestration.

The 12 tracks on offer chart a journey of acceptance in the face of humankind’s impermanence within a cosmic void, be it Fuzinski’s bellowing promise of hell itself, “chaos, death and fire” on lead single War Vessel or interdimensional overlap on Gemini’s celestial death metal pomp. Elsewhere ASTRALBORNE team up with labelmates Steve Redmond (Foretoken, The Day of the Beast) and Yegor Savovin (Fires in the Distance) on December Flower and the resplendent mid-album instrumental Promethean Fire respectively.

ASTRALBORNE’s interstellar voyage is visually brought to life in evocative fashion by Spanish artist Juanjo Castellano (The Black Dahlia Murder, Voidceremony, Coffins). For as alone as we may be in the cosmos of Across the Aeons, the band’s second album shirks the nihilistic connotations of such a realisation, opting instead to revel in the totality of all beings and things.

Across the Aeons tracklist:
1. Exordium
2. War Vessel
3. Nocturneous
4. Skybreaker
5. Gemini
6. December Flower
7. Promethean Fire
8. Star of Extinction
9. Paradigm Shift
10. The Pillars of Creation
11. Across the Aeons
12. Cadence of Sorrow

ASTRALBORNE is:
Paul Fuzinski – Bass and vocals
Derik Smith – Guitar
Jayson Cessna – Drums
