“Seis Uno Nueve” is the second song from This Drama‘s forthcoming EP ‘Loose Talk‘, which is set to be released on July 14 on Golden Robot Records .”Seis Uno Nueve” sees the Canary Islands-based band break from their punk rock roots to explore more acoustic and haunting tones.
This Drama has had quite an unexpected yet stellar trajectory since their 2005 inception in southern Europe. Their debut single “Radio Explodes” premiered on the BBC-6 Rock Show program curated by the one and only Bruce Dickinson (yes, THAT Bruce Dickinson); teeth-cutting tours in the UK ensued and from then on the band never looked back.
In 2008, having clenched the top spot at the prestigious Rock Awards in Madrid (Spain), the band went on to record their explosive debut album “San Diego 13”, which lead to a series of tours in the US topped up by a showcase slot at the infamous SXSW festival.
In 2010 the five piece returned to their spiritual home of Los Angeles to produce their sophomore album “Tarantula Mata” under the supervision of Joby Ford (The Bronx) who helped the band defining their sound, inspiring a new direction. With a new album in tow, 2011 sees This Drama take on their most audacious North American tour yet and playing some of the biggest stages during the European festival season (Azkena Rock Festival and Resurrection Fest amongst many). Sharing the bill with artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Queens Of The Stone Age, or Rob Zombie.
It’s back to the studio yet again in 2013, this time with producer/guitarist Jag Jago of The Ghost Of A Thousand in Brighton (UK) for the recording of “The Wasted Youth EP”, which consolidates the sound of the band whilst exploring new creative avenues. For the band’s 10 year anniversary in 2015 the live album “Vive Siempre” is released followed by an extensive national tour supporting Canadian boss men Cancer Bats, which would lead to wholesome creative endeavors further down the line. In 2016 the band is invited to showcase their live album at the Canadian Music Week Festival (Toronto). The band return to their native Spain along with Cancer Bats**’ guitarist/producer Scott Middleton to record their “Summer Failures” album released in late 2017 by Venn Records (UK).
Come 2022 the band drops the distortion pedals, lock themselves up in a desert cabin, and produces their most visceral work to date with new label Golden Robot Records.
Following the release of their sixth and finest album, ‘Silver & Black’, on Golden Robot Records in 2022, Australian rock band Leadfinger travel back in time in with a ten-year anniversary edition of their 2013 album ‘No Room at the Inn‘.
‘No Room at the Inn‘ was published on the iconic label Citadel Records and is a superb and eclectic collection that has some of Leadfinger’sbest songs. However, the band had long been dissatisfied with the album’s audio quality and mix, so with the tenth anniversary approaching, it was determined to correct that error and give the record the polish and sonic love that the songs deserved.
There are numerous standout tracks on ‘No Room at the Inn’, including “You’re So Strange”, a 70’s blues rock swagger, “Cruel City”, a live classic and one of Leadfinger’s best hard rock guitar pieces, and the title track, which sees the band swerve into alt – country territory. “Gimme the Future” features soaring backing vocals from Chloe West, haunting 12 string guitar and searing slide licks. One of the most powerful songs off this underrated album, and is now available everywhere.
The 2023 re-release of ‘No Room at the Inn’ is a completely remixed and remastered album from the same team that worked on ‘Silver & Black’ (Brent Clark, Mixing and Kathy Naunton, Mastering), and it now sounds as heavy and powerful as it always should have!
America’s preeminent progressive rockers KANSAS embark this summer on a series of 50 landmark performances at some of the foremost theaters and performing arts centers across America and into Canada. The “Another Fork In The Road” Tour celebrates 50 years of the band’s illustrious music history with concerts featuring two full hours of memorable hits, fan favorites and deep cuts rarely performed live.
In a recent tribute to the band’s five decades of success, Billboard Magazine describes the basis for their longstanding appeal: “Blending blues-based hard rock and intricate progressive constructions, Kansas staked out its own musical territory, at once original and accessible.” Billboard.com – KANSAS Hits 50 Concert dates and KANSAS VIP Packages are on sale now and selling fast. “Our entire career has been a winding journey,” comments KANSAS guitarist and original member Richard Williams. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus, touring with Queen, and finally worldwide success peaking with Leftoverture & Point of Know Return.” Williams goes on to remember, “That was followed by various lineup changes, the valleys of the 90’s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and success of our latest new music over the last eight years.” He concludes, “There have been several forks in the road of that journey. This 50th Anniversary Tour and release will represent that journey and the forks along that road.”
To further celebrate the band’s 50th Anniversary, InsideOutMusic has released Another Fork in the Road – 50 Years of KANSAS. The 3-CD career-spanning collection features carefully selected tracks from across KANSAS’s sizable discography. It also includes a new version of the song ‘Can I Tell You.’ Originally released on their 1974 debut album, the song is updated by the current lineup. “I’m incredibly excited about the 50th Anniversary Tour,” adds lead vocalist Ronnie Platt. “I tell people I’m not allowed to create a setlist, because it would be five hours long. There are so many songs I want to perform live. I think fans will be excited not only to hear our hits and fan favorites spanning 50 years of KANSAS, but also some songs that haven’t been performed live in decades.”
With no signs of slowing down, KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences.
