SLEEP TOKEN have released their third studio album, Take Me Back To Eden.

Along with its release, the band have revealed the concluding visualiser in the albums accompanying animated series for title-track, ‘Take Me Back To Eden’. Watch below.

Take Me Back To Eden (an hour-plus of music across 12 distinctive tracks) is Part 3 of a trilogy, a spectacular chapter-closer in the ongoing Sleep Token saga – a saga that kicked off in earnest with debut album, Sundowning (2019).

‘…Eden’ features probably the heaviest moments thus far recorded by Sleep Token (i.e. “Vore” & “The Summoning”), along with some of the most immediate and certainly the most emotional (i.e. “Aqua Regia” & “DYWTYLM”), with a slew of other tones, textures and tangents touched on in-between.

TMBTE sees Sleep Token boldly re-confirming a true love of the epic (the title track is eight minutes plus), whilst further exploring and developing those elements that keep the music removed from any kind of pack, howling at a moon that’s all its own.

Meanwhile, album tracks, “Chokehold”, “The Summoning”, “Aqua Regia”, “Granite” and “Vore” have collectively amassed over 85 million streams, whilst standout single, “The Summoning”, has generated some 40 million streams alone, causing the track to trend on Twitter and take the #1 song spot on a host of international Spotify viral charts, as well as being selected as a ‘YouTube Trending Artist On The Rise’, featuring on YouTube’s home page, viewed by millions of people every day.

The unprecedented accolades keep rolling in, between the fact that ST has never played a headline show in the UK that didn’t sell out (a trend now following them around the world), “Aqua Regia” picking up consistent airplay on the Radio One ‘Future Sounds’ show hosted by Clara Amfo, plus huge popstar Demi Lovato sharing Sleep Token’s music with her 153 million Instagram followers, Sleep Token consistently smash boundaries that they refused to acknowledge in the first place.

And even though Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press (out of necessity, not ego or gimmick), media can’t help but write about the phenomenon, reporting on the band’s every move; NME note, “Sleep Token offer their fans an entire world to immerse themselves in if they so wish. Sludge/Death Metal sensations HALFLIGHTED have released a new lyric video for “This Winding Path,” a track taken from their upcoming album Obloquy, which is set to be released via Wormholedeath worldwide.

The song features the words of Virgil’s Aeneid, “Whence is this sudden sheen of weather?”, which explores the human experience of facing unexpected and uncertain situations, and struggling to find meaning and purpose in the face of adversity. Through the track, Halflighted brings to light the vulnerability and fragility of human beliefs and faith, and the ways in which they can be both empowering and deceptive.

The five members of Halflighted are known for their unique blend of musical tastes, which fiercely clash to spawn Sludge-infused songs that explore Gothic undertones, Death Metal forces, Progressive tints, classic Rock drumming, a fair amount of Psychedelia, and many more influences.

The new lyric video for “This Winding Path” is a powerful visual representation of the song’s message, crafted by the talented team at Volume Agency.

Irish NEBULARIS Release New Single ‘Subnautica’

Hailing from the Irish capital, NEBULARIS is a three-piece Technical Metal project that encapsulates the essence of Sci-Fi, cinematic film scores, with powerhouse progressive arrangements that exceed expectations.

The band’s debut single, ‘Cataclysm’ is a precursor to their full-length album, currently getting the finishing touches by engineer/producer/musician Ben Wanders [The Enigma Division].

Following the welcoming introduction to the bands debut single in April, Nebularis continue to push the boundaries of expectations with the their latest single, ‘Subnautica’, which flows seamlessly in line with futuristic concept linked to ‘Cataclysm’.

Speaking of ‘Subnauticia’, guitarist Mó Sheerin says: “The intergenerational crew of the colony-ship Sigma have awakened to a harsh reality. The ship’s navigational system Voyager has foreseen the need to refuel, and has chartered a course to a suitable celestial body. Upon awakening, the initial euphoria of reaching a possibly habitable world is crushed; the planet is an ocean world with no land in sight!”

AATHMA to Release New Album “Dust From a Dark Sun” on June 30th

Spanish heavy power trio AATHMA will be releasing their fourth full-length album “Dust From a Dark Sun” on June 30th 2023 via Ardua Music.

The video of the first single, “Burned Garden”, is now streaming at THIS LOCATION.

Originally formed in Madrid in 2007 as a new project from members of the seasoned bands Glow, Autumnal and Adrift, the band quickly developed their own identity and gained popularity, leading to their 2009 debut album “The Call of Shiva” being chosen as the best unsigned record by the readers of Terrorizer magazine. Gaining momentum with their next two full-lengths (2011’s “Decline… Towers of Silence” and “Avesta” -2017-, as well as the EP “Deadly Lake” in 2014), the band increased their live activity, including an European tour with the blackened crust punks Khmer and support shows for diverse renowned artists like Godflesh, Baroness, Forgotten Tomb or Altar of Plagues, as well as celebrated sets at big festivals like Madrid is the Dark, Resurrection Fest, Doom Over Paris or Bracara Extreme Fest.

On this new album the band pursues a more straightforward approach, with heavier shorter songs that still show the band’s peculiar blend of sludge, different styles of doom and atmospheric metal, with massive wall breaking riffs, mesmerizing ambient passages and frontman and guitarist Juan Viguera’s unique and emotive voice. The record’s lyrical concept revolves around the idea of becoming one with the cosmos after respecting Mother Nature’s creation, when we become dust from that dark star after trying to live a right and respectful life towards all other sentient beings.

The impressive cover artwork has been created by Robert Hernández, one of the most prestigious tattoo artists in the world and the stellar production is courtesy of the band’s longtime collaborator Carlos Santos (Wormed, Toundra) and Víctor García’s (Adrift, Boneflower) crushing mastering.

“Dust From a Dark Sun” is a fresh-sounding record that avoids pigeonholed stereotypes and will resonate with listeners who yearn for a sincere and moving experience from one of Spain’s most personal heavy acts. Would you come to the end of AATHMA‘s world?
