EVILE Announce New Album + Reveal Music Video for Title Track ‘The Unknown’

Since their formation in 2002, British thrash masters EVILE have been turning heads and taking names, delivering pure thrash offerings blended with an uncompromising metal assault. Not only have the band played a notable role as the thrash metal resurgence movement of the mid-to-late 2000s, but as Kerrang! praised, they have “carried the genre’s whole ‘revival’ on their shoulders.” This summer, following their latest, critically acclaimed album, Hell Unleashed (2021), July 14, 2023 sees the four-piece strike again with their sixth full-length offering, entitled The Unknown, via Napalm Records!

This time, EVILE prove that they are more than just a thrash band, churning out slower tempos with a heavier approach. In addition, melodic vocals meet serious, in-depth lyrical topics – ranging from depression, overcoming loss and recurring nightmares, self-esteem and image, to more personal themes like living with dementia, struggling through the music industry and even the concerns of becoming a new parent.

We’re really excited to start revealing the next page in the Evile chapter”, says frontman OL Drake. “We’ve taken a completely different approach on this album and I looked inward for inspiration; I’ve opened myself up like I never thought I would. We’ve always been at 500mph, like on the previous album (Hell Unleashed) and this time around we felt we wanted to try the polar opposite – some slower-than-we’ve-ever-done tempos with more melodic vocal hooks, and give Adam some freedom on the leads/writing. I’ve been working on my vocals since diving in the deep end in 2021, and we’ve worked hard for 2 years on this, so I’m excited for everyone to hear the fruits of our labour. We’re really proud of what we’ve all accomplished with this album. This is the one I hope can catapult us to more ears and places we haven’t been before to play for people who are constantly asking us to play in their area.

First up is the title track, “The Unknown.” I wrote the basic lyrical content and concept back in 2017 when I was out of the band. The song deals with my fears and anxieties of becoming a father for the first time and all the doubts and worries that come with the responsibilities it brings.”

On The Unknown, EVILE are more profound, personal and deep, while also proving heavier, stronger and more raucous than ever! Songs such as “The Unknown” showcase the band’s haunting elements and the stirring, “new” side of EVILE, balancing a dark, melodic and almost mesmerizing vibe with colossal, heavy riffage and thundering drums. While EVILE still stays true to their explosive trademarks and roots, they leave nothing but a hammering new world of sound, building up to a stomping thrash manifesto. The Unknown unchains the rampant songwriting talent of these British thrash metal frontrunners, proving that thrash does not always have to be fast-paced. It can also be in-your-face with outstanding musical skill, without fear of showing a still unknown facet of lyrical depth and an enthralling, versatile, brave modern metal sound!

The Unknown was recorded by Tim Vincent at Longwave Studios, Cardiff UK, and was produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Clancy at the same Longwave Studios.

ROYAL AUTUMN Release Split Single ‘Say Goodbye’ & Club Remix of ‘I’ve Got A Hold On You’

Following the release of ‘Life is Strangely Accidental’ album in late February, the eclectic Rock project known as ROYAL AUTUMN have released their split single release on Thursday, 18th May.

Watch the stunning official video for ‘Say Goodbye’ here. Created by Very Metal Art.

Capturing a wide variety of influences, Royal Autumn are a unique and captivating group of artists that fuse many genres together with carefully thought out theatrics, and a blatantly deep passion for what they do.

February’s full length album, ‘Life is Strangely Accidental’ saw the band achieve some impressive reviews from critics who fell in love with their ability to weave influences such as Judas Priest, Ghost, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Tom Petty and more…

Their collective love for old school showmanship is very much present in their live shows where on any given night you’ll be treated to a visual spectacle of exquisite stage clothes, (as well as the odd feather boa), alongside a truly authentic sense of classic old-school Rock, but with a contemporary twist. In essence, Royal Autumn are flying the flag for classic songwriting.

Speaking of the singles and the decision to release it as a split with a remix of I’ve Got A Hold On You’, vocalist Neill Marshall says; “We recognised ‘Say Goodbye’ as a single early on, but it ended up being number 4 for a couple of reasons. ‘Take it to the Grave’ was released first, prior to the album coming out as a bite-sized sample, simply due to its length, ‘L.I.S.A’ second due to it’s accessibility & the fact we had filmed a ‘Stripped’ live video for it, ‘Thin & Blond’ was always the BIG music video to be released in tandem with the album itself, as it was the most ‘visual’ song, so even though ‘Say Goodbye’ is maybe the most catchy track, it got bumped to 4th.
We opted to do a fun B-side just to make the release a little more flavourful, the album is now 2.5 months old, so we thought a new music vid AND a remix would be exciting to throw out there. IGAHOY was chosen as it’s always straddled the line between ‘Synth song’ or ‘Rock song’ – The Album version is a bop, but now we get to unleash it as a fully-realised club banger.”

TAKALAITON Sign with Rockshots Records for New Album “Mindfection”, Out in July

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their latest signing of TakaLaiton for the release of their debut album “Mindfection” produced by Teemu Aalto (Omnium Gatherum, Insomnium) and due out on July 28th, 2023.

Hailing from Finland’s far north, TakaLaiton garners a powerful melodic groove thrash-influenced attitude that is best seen in their super-energetic live shows that have always left fans with a sore neck and bruises from the moshpit. With a risk-taking thrash-fueled demeanor, TakaLaiton superbly blends fast-paced energy, and a bone-crushing groove, with melodies that can only be inspired by the dark, depressing, and frigid far-north. Not to mention the band’s lyrical onslaught, sung in both Finnish and English. Since their inception, the band has covered a lot of territories while on tour, bringing their rowdy stage presence to the Scandinavian regions, the rest of Europe, and Asian continents.

TakaLaiton has a “break the rules, exceed all limits” approach, as their name suggests; deriving from a Finnish baseball term for “swing the ball over the borders”. With that fierce frame of mind, the band has won “Heavy Metal Heart 11” a National Music Contest in Finland; and is ready to follow up their 2019 double EP “SisuKastraatio I & II” with 2023’s “Mindfection”, their first full-length that is based on today’s society, where we as people do everything to be a part of it and what’s sickening to the band is that people are ready to do anything in the name of couple minutes of fame. This album is based on this sick way our world has come to be.

The band adds about their signing:

“We think this will be the album that the TakaLaiton fans will consider a classic in the future. The well-known crushing sound and the rage are in there with the heartwarming melodies, which TakaLaiton fans are familiar with. We are absolutely psyched about the album’s release and the fact it’s coming through Rockshots Records! We spent literally everything we had when it comes to effort and money on this album and the final result turned out to be magnificent with the producer Teemu Aalto. With our great partners in Rockshots Records, we know that this album will find everybody that it has to!”

Singles and track listing will be revealed in the coming weeks. TakaLaiton‘s new album “Mindfection” is recommended for fans of Pantera, Slipknot, and Testament.

New DORO Album “Conqueress Forever Strong & Proud” to Include Duet w/ Judas Priest’s Rob Halford

Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada’s The Metal Voice recently spoke to Doro Pesch (Warlock) live on Youtube. In the chat Doro gave some details about her upcoming solo album entitled ‘Conqueress Forever Strong and Proud’ which includes a duet with Judas Priest’s Rob Halford.

When asked what can fans expect with the new album she replied,” The album will be released the 27th of October, 2023 via Nuclear Blast and the first single is coming out the 9th of June. The title of the single will be called ‘Time for Justice’ and we plan to have like 4 or 5 singles (videos) before the official release of the album. The new album is pretty heavy, it’s pretty hard. The first five songs are totally heavy and then there are some mid tempo ones, Anthem (like). The song ‘I will prevail’ is the heaviest one I think. The opening track I love so much it’s called ‘Children of the Dawn’. There are two duets on the album, one with a very famous German singer and the other is with Rob Halford from Judas Priest, which is a dream come true. Rob is a great guy and we have been friends forever, it’s a special treat. I am so excited , I am so grateful, I love Rob, he was the biggest inspiration to me and it means the world to me.”

MISCREANCE Share New Music Video for Song ‘The Garden’

Old school technical death metal revivalists MISCREANCE will be reissuing their debut album, ‘Convergence,’ via Season of Mist on May 19, 2023! The album was originally self-released by the Italian newcomers in in September 2022. The band is now revealing a brand new music video for the song “The Garden,” which can be found at THIS LOCATION.

MISCREANCE comments: “Where the darkest of energy once reigned, a small glimpse of light seemed to made the nebulae converge into a unspeakable form of life. ‘Convergence’ is a 31-minute long odyssey that narrates how the Miscreance microcosm was born when atoms were still floating into the nothingness, twisting and turning into the evolution process like in its songs structures and giving the world (and beyond) the ultimate experience in Technical Thrash/Death Metal. Prepare for a voyage at the edge of reality that will make your brain cells implode!”

‘Convergence’ will be re-released on three different colored vinyl as well as CD formats. The record is now available for pre-order HERE while you can stream it across all digital platforms HERE.

Track-list:
1. Flame of Consciousness (04:10)
2. Fall Apart (04:49)
3. Incubo (04:44) [LISTEN]
4. No Empathy (04:47) [LISTEN]
5. The Garden (04:03) [WATCH]
6. Alchemy (03:59)
7. My Internment (03:38)
8. Requiem for Sanity (01:27)

Though many have tried, few bands have successfully replicated the mind-bending technical death metal formula that was established during the genre’s advent by the Godfathers of DEATH. That is until Italy’s Miscreance entered the ring in 2022 with its debut full-length, ‘Convergence.’ Unlike tech death contemporaries who are known for speed and extremity, Miscreance artistry lies within its carefully executed precision, underscoring the focused discipline behind the music’s eloquent complexities.

Miscreance is a project reborn from the ashes of Atomic Massacre. As the former band’s members decided to change the course of their stylistic direction, they felt it was time for a rebirth, changing the name as well. In 2018, the band released its first demo, ‘From Awareness to Creation,’ which was originally co-produced by Red Wine Rites records in Switzerland and limited strictly to 100 copies.

Shortly after the demo release, the band ceased their search for a singer upon realizing that drummer Andrea F. was exactly what they were looking for, so they exhumed three songs from the pre-demo era and recorded a split with death metal grind-crushers Vile Apparition (AUS), released in late 2021.

In 2022, Miscreance made its debut with its first full-length, ‘Convergence,’ which took almost five years to complete. The offering quickly garnered the attention of Season of Mist, who formed a union with the emerging band and is now reissuing the full-length for worldwide distribution as the old school tech death revivalists prepare to unleash a sophomore offering onto the masses.
