THE END OF SIX THOUSAND YEARS Premiere Long-Awaited Comeback EP

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 16, 2023

Italian black-death metal punks THE END OF SIX THOUSAND YEARS have been mostly dormant since 2012’s “Perpetuum”, but have now come out of their long hibernation. The band returns with a new self-titled EP, which is slated for release via Hypershape Records on May 18th 2023.

Today, No Clean Singing is hosting the official premiere of “The End Of Six Thousand Years”. Stream the EP at THIS LOCATION.

The Italian black-death metal punks have crafted a release that will hit both hard and direct as well as challenge the listeners with its rich detail and enormous atmosphere. Extreme, yet diverse. Intense, captivating and simply brooding in every form!

The EP marks a new era for a band that has proven to continue to make music of the highest quality despite facing many challenges and line-up changes along the way.

Encompassing elements of black-death metal, post rock, dark punk and more and shrouded under a veil of bleakness, THE END OF SIX THOUSAND YEARS casts its spell and captures an atmosphere that is raw, otherworldly, and ultimately tragic.

Tracklist:

01. Collider
02. Endbearer
03. Voidwalker
04. The Man Who Loves to Hurt Himself (Today Is The Day cover)

THE END OF SIX THOUSAND YEARS was formed in 2004 as a five-piece scattered all over Italy.

After releasing a 3-song demo in 2005 and a split with the American act Embrace The End in 2006, T.E.O.S.T.Y. quickly gain a cult status in the underground scene publishing “Isolation” (2008), flawlessly blending Swedish death metal, black metal, crust and post rock influences.

In 2012 the band released the second effort, “Perpetuum”, which displayed a darker and more atmospheric approach to their trademark sound.

From the following year, the band limited their activities until entering a hiatus that would last for about a decade.

In 2020 the band slowly started over with a new line-up consisting of 3 founding members (Nicola, Matteo and Luca) with the addition of Michele Basso (Viscera///, Formalist, Hypershape Records) and Gianmaria Mustillo (Hierophant, Carnero, Abaton) both taking care of the vacant guitar duties.

The revamped line up brings forth a new EP consisting of 3 brand new songs as well as a cover of the influential American noise band Today Is The Day.

T.E.O.S.T.Y.’s latest opus sounds rawer, more aggressive and dissonant than ever. The mixing process was handled by Gabriele Gramaglia (Cosmic Putrefaction) making sure those bleak, discordant slabs of punk-infused black/death metal would be as punishing as possible.

During their various runs across Europe T.E.O.S.T.Y. shared the stage with The Ocean, Cursed, Mouth of the Architect, Dead To Fall and Martyr AD, among many others.

Current line-up:

Nicola Donà – Vocals
Gianmaria Mustillo – Guitars
Michele Basso – Guitars
Luca Dalù – Bass
Matteo Borzini – Drums

From its inception, WITHERED have been an outlier. The band are a perplexing charge of extremity that the metal scene still hasn’t put its finger on.

“We’re definitely a band for metal nerds”, says guitarist Mike Thompson, who also handles the vocals.

Originally formed in 2003 by Thompson and ex-guitarist/vocalist Chris Freeman, WITHERED set out to re-write black, doom and death metal mores. After 18 years and five albums, WITHERED have achieved that goal by refusing to call any one subgenre home. The band has toured with Mastodon, High on Fire, Mayhem, 1349 and Danzig. You never know what kind of mystery WITHERED are going to uncork live. Sometimes, it’s a DIY kick in the gut. Other times, it’s a stage soaked in bloody red and searing white lights.

‘Verloren’ is WITHERED’s most daring and iconoclastic offering yet. This album harkens back to the band’s funeral doom roots, especially on eight-minute opener “By Tooth in Tongue”. But it also features clean vocals for the first time ever.   The title, which translates to “Missing”, isn’t just a reference to friends, families and memories that disappear as time ticks by. It’s also a reflection on the pandemic and how much the band has missed writing, recording and touring together.

“For most people, metal is purely aesthetic, a grandstanding ‘f-you’ to society and an adolescent rebellion kind of thing,” says Thompson. “But at the same time, we do get positive feedback from the people who have looked a bit deeper and done some research. We just want to be honest”.

Line-up
Beau Brandon – Drums
Dan Caycedo – Vocals, Guitars
Rafay Nabeel – Bass Guitar
Mike Thompson – Vocals, Guitar

Florida death metallers INHUMAN CONDITION have revealed the details of their new EP, entitled “Panic Prayer”.  This marks the group’s third release since their formation in early 2021.

Set for a July 21st release on Listenable Insanity Records, “Panic Prayer” features three new original compositions, 4 live songs, and a smashing cover of the Blue Oyster Cult classic hit “Godzilla”.  With members of Obituary, Deicide, and Venom Inc, the trio is no stranger to extreme music, blending a mix of groovy death metal and thrash, with a pinch of hardcore.

The group have once again enlisted the help of art-extraordinaire Dan “Babe Ruth” Goldsworthy (Cradle Of Filth, Accept, Hakan, Alestorm) for the cover art for the EP. Goldsworthy’s third album cover for the band features the bands “unofficial mascot”, sometimes referred to as “the Rat God”, who was on the group’s 2021 debut “Rat°God”, as well as 2022’s follow-up album “Fearsick”.

Kling says: “When you are face to face with the crushing weight of darkness, what will you reach for? Your wits? Your talisman given to you by an old family member? Or will you embrace the end? This thought will run through everyone’s mind. How you handle that moment is individualistic at best.

Believe me, it’s coming. Let’s see your panic prayer.”

Panic Prayer track-listing:

  1. Civilized Holocaust
  2. Final Credits
  3. Panic Prayer
  4. Godzilla
  5. The Mold Testament (live)
  6. Recycled Hate (live)
  7. Euphoriphobia (live)
  8. The Neck Step (live)

“Panic Prayer” will be available on CD, vinyl, cassette tape, as well as a unique box set.  Preorders for the album, as well as the first single/video will be released June 2nd at inhumancondition.bandcamp.com

The production for the album was done at Smoke & Mirrors Productions in Spring Hill, Florida, with Jeramie Kling and Taylor Nordberg mixing and mastering respectively. The live songs were recorded on their 2022 summer US tour with Deicide.

Inhuman Condition is:
Jeramie Kling – Vocals/Drums
Terry Butler- Bass

LIQUID FLESH Premiere ‘La Danse Des Ombres’ Video

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LIQUID FLESH. Leave a comment

French death metallers LIQUID FLESH are now premiering the new video for “La Danse des Ombres”. The song is taken from the band’s new album “Dolores”, due out on May 26th 2023 via Time To Kill Records.

The band comment:

“After our second album “Chair Liquide” released in 2020, we wanted to proceed a little bit differently for the next one.
Given the cinematic influences that have always guided our songwriting, we wanted to get closer to the process of creating a film. We made a draft for the cover, this draft inspired us a ‘screenplay’ in ten chapters, then we wrote the lyrics for ten ‘scenes’. The music came at the very end.
The album tells a woman’s journey from an aimless way of life to a surreal ending after a bad encounter. It is all about the dullness of daily routine, addiction and manipulation, told in a hallucinated way.
Musically, the foundations remain the same, death metal from the late 80’s, early 90’s, but with more atmospheric material than on our previous works. Nonetheless, Liquid Flesh is before all a live band, so we wanted to keep that energy intact.
While listening, you will be dragged from rock ‘n’ roll grooves to crushing death metal riffs, through psychedelic and doom oriented sections. Versatile and straightforward are great adjectives to describe this album”.

Tracklist:

1) Urbex Macabre
2) La Danse des Ombres
3) Tapage Nocturne
4) Dose Létale Médiane
5) Tribunal Fantomatique
6) Océan de Failles
7) Cauchemar Blanc
8) Bicéphale
9) Sans Relâche
10) Brouillard Hypnotique

LIQUID FLESH is a death metal trio from the french Alps. Influenced by bands such as Entombed, Carcass, Undergang and Autopsy, the band plays catchy songs with evocative atmospheres, drawing inspiration from sci-fi and horror movies.

The band was founded in 2014 by four active members of the Grenoble metal scene. After some gigs between France and Italy, the band quickly recorded its debut album “Spontaneous Liquefaction”, which contains seven death metal compositions with synth parts and many references to horror movies.

In 2018, Putrid Bruce, also vocalist of Epitaphe, joined the band as vocalist and bass player. Now a trio, LIQUID FLESH started playing a more radical and sophisticated music, characterized by a relentless punk energy.

The band released the album “Chair Liquide” in September 2020, which received good feedback from the press.

In summer 2021, Glaviar left the band and was replaced by Cephalic Niels from the power/heavy metal band Nightmare.

LIQUID FLESH finally recorded a third album in 2022. Designed as a concept album, it takes the listener into a musical journey that is both straightforward and psychedelic. A dive into a universe melting the dirt of “Street Trash” and the ethereal atmosphere of “The Neon Demon”.

Line Up :

Putrid Bruce – Bass, Vocals
Gastric Luke – Guitar, Backing vocals
Cephalic Niels – Drums

After recovering from the excitement of the weekend, the band is thrilled to release a new video celebrating the best highlights of the past year – including sold-out club shows, the stadium tour with Iron Maiden and countless other standout moments.

The new version includes 6 new studio tracks, great featured artists, singles released physically for the first time and alternate versions of the album tracks from Blood & Glitter!

LORD OF THE LOST says:
“The Curtain Falls” was written the day after I bought Steve Harris’ signature model E-bass. Last year’s tour with Iron Maiden burned itself into our hearts in such a way that we wanted to give back some of that energy. We put that energy into “The Curtain Falls”.This song will be our opening song for all Iron Maiden and festival shows this summer. We just came back from the ESC, where we had the time of our lives, and are looking forward to an unforgettable live summer.

Watch LORD OF THE LOST performing “Blood & Glitter” live at the Eurovision Song Contest Finals in Liverpool below.

LORD OF THE LOST comment on Eurovision Song Contest:
“Thank you, everyone, for this amazing experience! We loved every second of it! So, we‘re going back to our old lives now and we are looking forward to a most amazing festival summer, many sold out shows and a second tour with IRON MAIDEN!
Thanks to all of the other artists that we‘ve met on the road to Eurovision – you all deserve all the success and the love, and may all your dreams come true!
And last but not least, thanks to EVERYONE on our team: you have helped us to make our dream of Eurovision become reality.
We leave Liverpool tomorrow, knowing that we couldn‘t possibly have put more effort, time and love into the undertaking of participating here! And now the big question remains: who will Germany send next year to break the curse?

Chris, Pi, Klaas, Gared & Nik”

THE ZENITH PASSAGE Release “Datalysium” Full-Length on July 21st, Unleash ‘Lexicontagion’ Video/Single

Los Angeles-based progressive death metal practitioners THE ZENITH PASSAGE will unleash their towering Datalysium full-length on July 21st through Metal Blade Records, today unveiling the record’s cover art, first single, and pre-orders.

While far too many progressive and technical death metal bands are happy to walk the same path and stick to a tried-and-true sound, on their second full-length THE ZENITH PASSAGE forges new and exhilarating territory. From start to finish, Datalysium is driven by imagination and played by artists who have full command of their instruments, creating something that stands out of any pack while maintaining what made them such a riveting proposition in the first place.

Featuring overhauled lineup that sees original guitarist/keyboardist/backing vocalist Justin McKinney joined by guitarist Christopher Beattie (Dreamer), vocalist Derek Rydquist (ex-The Faceless, John Frum) and bassist Brandon Giffin (ex-The Faceless, Cynic), Datalysium finds the band further pushing disparate influences to the forefront of their sound.

The band elaborates, “There’s always been things that were subtly done on previous releases, like jazz fusion passages, dissonant black metal, synth, and orchestral elements, as well as singing. What we haven’t done before is put those influences and ideas more upfront in the songwriting and production. Singing has become a pretty prominent part of some of these songs, as well as synth orchestration and really eerie, dissonant, pissed off black metal influence. We’re doing all of this while attempting to tell a harmonic and lyrical story that keeps the listener engaged and wondering what could happen next.”

The result is the perfect marriage of technical head-fuckery, atmosphere, melody, and shifting dynamics, constantly demanding the listener’s undivided attention. From opener “The Axiom Of Error” with its stop-start attack to the agitated, richly textured and unstoppable “Synaptic Depravation,” or the dramatic, lush and epic closing title track, THE ZENITH PASSAGE is relentlessly creative and insistently push their sound in interesting, engrossing directions.

In advance of the release of Datalysium, today the band unleashes first single, “Lexicontagion,” noting of the track, “‘Lexicontagion’ is a representation of the entire musical spectrum from the band. It is a song that takes you on a crazy adventure, with fast speeds and unexpected turns, while maintaining a familiar motif throughout the piece. We wanted to highlight the dynamics of the band on a compositional level and production level. So there’s a lot of depth to it, where the listener can discover a new element to the music upon each listen. Which is the case for the entire record, it’s a wild ride.“

Datalysium was recorded between McKinney’s home studio and Rydquist’s apartment, with some vocals tracked at Flatline Audio with Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Wake), who also mixed the album. McKinney handled the tracking, while they brought in Ryan Williams (The Black Dahlia Murder, John Frum) to produce some of the bass and vocals. Having been friends with Williams for years, it felt natural to have him be a part of the recording process, while Otero also contributed profoundly. A longtime friend of McKinney, this is the first time they have actually collaborated on a record. “Dave is the kind of dude that just gets it, when going for the sound or idea we have in mind, even bringing an idea to light that we never even thought to do and collaborating and expanding on these ideas further. We were expecting some really epic stuff from Dave, but the end result of that has proved to be way more than those expectations.“

Datalysium Track Listing:
1. The Axiom Of Error
2. Algorithmic Salvation
3. Lexicontagion
4. Synaptic Depravation
5. Deletion Cult
6. Divinertia I
7. Divinertia II

9. Datalysium

Datalysium will be released on standard LP, limited-edition LP, CD, and digital formats. For pre-orders, go to: metalblade.com/thezenithpassage
