Southampton, UK based power metal band BATTLE BORN have today released their new album, Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel, via Prosthetic Records. Alongside the album release, BATTLE BORN have also shared a lyric video for Power Force – made by Aimed&Framed.

On their debut full-length, BATTLE BORN pull out all the stops with their power metal hymnals of war, dragons and inner courage that take place in the land of Skyrim’s Windhelm, Eastmarch. The Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel tour will take place next week – with full dates and info below.

Stream Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify

Speaking on the album release, BATTLE BORN comments: “Having started the journey of making this album almost 3 years ago, it feels incredible to finally be unleashing Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel to the world. We’re beyond proud of every single one of the tracks on this record, and we hope that our fans enjoy this labour of love and relish in every detail.

“Every part of the recording process was special, but particular highlights include our time recording drums in Germany with Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann, and recording the 15-voice choir parts with Kurt Fagan at the Ranch Production House in Southampton! The results speak for themselves, and the record sounds huge.

“We’ll be bringing some of these songs to the stage for the very first time on our upcoming UK tour, starting 17 May in Cambridge! Other album tracks like Fire Storm and Power Force have been staples of our live set for some time now, becoming firm fan favourites.  Whether you’re seeing us for the first or the tenth time, you’ll come away from these shows with steel raised high and metal beating in your heart.”

Since their 2019 inception and 2020 self-titled debut EP, BATTLE BORN has garnered a dedicated following in the burgeoning UK power metal scene and beyond for their approach to both storytelling and songcraft, as well as their undying reverence for traditional heavy metal. Previously released singles in the form of Bring the Metal Back and album track Fire Storm showcased BATTLE BORN as a step ahead of genre traditionalists, with wide eyed theatricality and grandiose flair being put at the forefront of their sound.

The group efforts of Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel’s meticulous creative process was vital to bringing their world of swords and sorcery to life, with production and engineering credits including Kurt Fagan at The Ranch Production House and mixing and mastering by Orden Ogan’s Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann at Greenman Studios.

BATTLE BORN’s affinity for European power metal is evident across the 11 tracks on offer, just take one listen to their foray into balladry on The Endless Grey or late album mini-epic Ride North for Winterhold’s majesty, with an emphasis on lavish orchestration throughout. Where others might slip into imitation or retro nostalgia, BATTLE BORN deftly pay their respects to a long running genre whilst injecting a youthful verve in the process.

Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel is visually captured in eye watering fashion by graphic designer Stan-W Decker (Blue Öyster Cult, Powerwolf, Dragonforce), perfectly echoing the wars waged in the band’s bold and daring world. BATTLE BORN’s Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel is not only an invitation to join forces with the quartet on their perilous mission, it also finally answers the question, “What would Skyrim’s greatest band sound like?”.

Blood, Fire, Magic and Steel tracklist:
1. Wind Caller
2. Dragon Heart
3. Blood and Fire
4. Power Force
5. When Empires Die
6. The Endless Grey
7. Fire Storm

Last month, metal legends CAVALERA announced they re-recorded SEPULTURA’s first EP Bestial Devastation and first full-length album Morbid Visions.

Today, CAVALERA reveal the albums will be released on July 14th via Nuclear Blast Records. They also offer fans the first single ‘Morbid Visions’.

Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation were re-recorded at The Platinum Underground. The albums were produced by Max Cavalera and Iggor Cavalera while John Aquilino handled the engineering. Arthur Rizk was responsible for the mixing and mastering of both albums. CAVALERA enlisted Eliran Kantor to create the artwork for both albums.

Max Cavalera comments, “As we get harder year after year, sometimes you’ve got to go back to where it all started! We re-recorded Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions with the amazing sound of NOW,  but with its raw and timeless spirit. The artwork reflects the times we’re living in right now…. Apocalyptic as hell! We also have two new tracks with riffs from those days, remembered by heart.”

Iggor Cavalera states, “I always felt like the recordings of our earlier work didn’t do justice to the way we performed the songs. So, this is a very special moment in our lives that we are very proud to show you real fans our true representation of the amazing records Bestial Devastation & Morbid Visions with an insane visual identity…enjoy and see you all in the pit.”

DEATHSTARS Drop Video for Title Track of New Album “Everything Destroys You”

Swedish Deathglam kings DEATHSTARS released their fifth studio album Everything Destroys You last week, which was eagerly awaited from their loyal fans.

Today, the band presents the video for the album’s title track ‘Everything Destroys You’, which is directed by Damon Zurawski, who also did the video for ‘Midnight Party’.

The video was filmed in the cold, hard surroundings of an old, abandoned slaughterhouse in Stockholm.

Whiplasher tells about the video: ”Everything Destroys You is a video that literally destroys the band. We have killed the band in quite a few of our videos, and for those who want to see us dead once again this is another excellent opportunity to see that happen. On one hand you could see Nightmare busy behind swaying chains in the cellar, while Skinny is working on a double bass at the same time as I got electric shocks from a depraved nurse.”

Stream the album on all platforms: https://deathstars.bfan.link/everything-destroys-you

Catch the band live on their extended European tour this fall/winter!
