Avant-garde act THY CATAFALQUE is now unveiling the third offering from the upcoming album ‘Alföld’. The new track “Testen túl” can be found on the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE!

‘Alföld’ will be released via Season of Mist on June 16, 2023 and pre-orders are available HERE, while the album can be pre-saved HERE.

Mastermind Tamás Kátai comments: “Our last single from Alföld is Testen túl with Bálint Bokodi on vocals who is part of our live incarnation as well. The song is fast, dark and hopeless.”

LOATHER Announce New Album, Release Mesmerizing First Single ‘Holler Your Name’

Following their latest EP “Haganvelt” (2019), June 23rd will see the release of “Eis”, the debut full-length record by Blackened Doom Metallers LOATHER, which will be coming out on Vendetta Records. Hailing from Vienna, Austria, LOATHER have been continuously blurring the lines of European underground metal since 2016, releasing a demo, two EP‘s and sharing the stage with acts such as Gggolddd, Ultha, Wiegedood, Windhand and more. Being their first proper full-length album, “Eis” sees the band taking their unique blackened narcotic metal to new, at times unexpected territories – rest assured that the end result will ignite your heart while chilling you to the bone at the same time.

“Themes of loss and longing run through the DNA of “Holler Your Name”. The first single of upcoming album “Eis” (out on Vendetta Records on June 23rd) by Austrian post-“post-metal” band Loather starts out as a blackened mid-tempo dirge, all yearning guitar lines, soaring vocals and cavernous screams – which makes the melancholic ending passage of mournful, almost ecclesial bass and ethereal sighing even more effective.” The band comments.

As the name suggests, “Eis” (German for “ice”) is a rather chilling affair and while it is not a concept album at heart, themes of loss and interpersonal struggle can be heard in the soothing voices and desperate screams strewn across the icy landscape. Rooted in the groups signature narcotic approach to metal music, reducing the records atmosphere to mere genre tags would do their versatile worldbuilding through sound wrong: it’s not the direct influence of blackened or doomed metal that renders the nebulous haze of tracks like “Holler Your Name” so eerily effective – the key to this darkness lies in its successful blending of honest feelings with a lack of restraint when it comes to passionate delivery of good old heaviness.

HALFLIGHTED Sign Record Deal with Wormholedeath for Debut Album “Obloquy”

Catalan-based metal rising force HALFLIGHTED is thrilled to announce they have signed a record deal with Wormholedeath Records. The band has been hard at work creating their debut album, “Obloquy,” set to release on June 2nd, 2023.

“We’re excited to finally show the world what we’ve been creating in the shadows these last years,” says Halflighted. “This debut album is the fusion of five completely different influences that have landed at a midpoint, far from any compromise with the listener. These five years of hard work have spawned an uncompromising offering that won’t hide in the dark any longer.”

“Obloquy” combines Gothic undertones, Death Metal forces, Progressive tints, classic Rock drumming, a fair amount of Psychedelia, and many other hidden influences. The exact genre of this uncompromising soundscape is left up to the listener to decide. Sung in English, Catalan, and German, the lyrics of the album explore themes of war, inner struggles, and despair through various points of view.

Recorded in the spring and summer of 2022 by Varg The Mighty in Redrum Studios and mixed and mastered by Javi Félez in Moontower Studios, “Obloquy” is a highly anticipated debut. The album art has been masterfully designed by Óskart, the band’s guitarist.

Halflighted was conceived in 2018 by the minds of Óskart and Mark in Catalonia after the split of Mark’s previous Death Metal band Dryzer. Their initial idea for a Death Doom Metal project slowly evolved into an eclectic and genre-defying opus as the current line-up consolidated itself in the following years.

The current line-up includes Óskart on guitar, Mark on bass and vocals, Varg The Mighty on guitar, synth, and vocals, Pepe on drums, and MAD on vocals.

A KILLER’S CONFESSION released the first track Tongue today from their forthcoming 4th studio album. It is a darker and heavier version of AKC that no one has heard before. The first track was written by Dusty Boles & Waylon Reavis.

The title of the 4th Studio album will be VICTIM 1 with a release date and track announcement coming in the near future and will be produced by Dusty Boles.

The Tongue video is directed by Michael Levine, production by Corey James and director of photography Austin Scherzberg. Video was filmed at Perry’s Music Museum in Harvard, IL and features an appearance by AJ Good of The House of Masks.

Tongue is my first Victim. In the video you shall conceptually see the madman take Justice into his own hands. Victim 1 is a concept album of a vigilante with a split personality. The songs will speak for themselves.  It’s been refreshing to work with Dusty. We have had a-lot of fun creating together. It’s nice to step outside the box and have new perspectives on structure and song themes. – Waylon Reavis

Kre^u is released today, May 9th 2023, omonimous debut full-length of KRE^U, Black Metal project from the lands of Barbagia (Sardinia) sung in ancient sardinian language.

“A Palas Non Torred” is the second single published, after the much-acclaimed “A Sos Antigos“:

A Tenores chants and lyrics strictly in ancient Sardinian language enriches the whole sound, creating unique phonetics expressively angry, evocative and polytonal, The spirit of the mighty bandits of Sardinia animate KRE^U sound and music.

Iranian CATS SEASON Drop Heavy Track ‘Detached 1011001’

Iran’s leading deathcore band CATS SEASON are back with a new track. The band currently works on their debut album with huge collaborations from some big names in the deathcore scene.

The persian cats are back after a short break and moved to their new HQ to work on an upcoming album. 

Cats Season: “Detached 1011001 is the first episode of our new chapter, we are ready more than ever to start achieving our goals. We moved past the dark and hopeless times we were experiencing in our country. Big features and announcements coming soon.”

Detatched 1011001 showcases Cats Season’s anti establishment beliefs and the song urges listeners to look beyond the boundries of one’s surroundings to achieve a higher state of understanding towards the world. 

Cats Season has been one of Iran’s only bands which played underground shows and has their own merch line in Iran which was also popular among the whole Alt culture and is currently working closely with Iran’s top level designers to deliver high quality merchendise to appreciators of alternative culture.
