THE SCARLET OPERA to Tour with AVA MAX Across North America This Summer

Following the recent release of their debut EP Comedy and sold-out headline tour across the west coast, the hottest rock band in Los Angeles, The Scarlet Opera, announces they will be supporting Ava Max on her upcoming tour this summer. Kicking off on May 31st in Detroit, the tour will make stops in New York on June 8th at Irving Plaza, Los Angeles on June 20th at The Fonda Theatre, and many more. On the tour, frontman Luka Bazulka says, “Hot off our last tour, we were already itching to go back out on the road – we’ve been having the time of our lives! Now, thanks to Ava we get to continue gallivanting across the states – she’s such a powerhouse, we cannot wait to meet her fans and see some of ours xx”

The five-track collection captures all of the drama, ecstasy, lust, madness, and love at the heart of the band’s cathartic and cinematic rock ‘n’ roll. The opener and newest single “Riot” rides a propulsive drumbeat accented by guitar and bass as dynamic frontman Luka Bazulka croons, “Oo, I kinda like it, gets me excited, let’s start a riot, we could start a riot.”
 
The band set the stage for the EP with “The Place To Be,” “Big City Thing,” and most recently, “Alive.” Inciting feverish critical applause, Hits Daily Double went so far as to predict, “If anyone’s going to revive the glory days of Queen-style rock, our money’s on The Scarlet Opera,” while LA On Lock promised, “This is a band to invest in early so you can tell all your friends you heard them before the world caught on.” Check out the full EP tracklist below.
 
The Scarlet Opera also recently made their late night television debut with an electrifying performance of “Alive” on The Late Late Show with James Corden to praise from fans and critics alike – watch HERE.

Following the EP release, the band launched their first ever headline tour dubbed “Comedy : The Scarlet Opera Tour,” which included a string of sold-out dates up and down the west coast.

CALICO JACK Hit the Seas for a Naval Battle w/ New Video ‘Broadside Attack’

Named after the nickname for Captain John Rackham, the English pirate captain who operated in the Bahamas and in Cuba during the early 18th century, CALICO JACK was founded in 2011 by the brothers Toto (rhythm guitar) and Caps (drums) with the aim of merging legendary 80s heavy metal with modern Scandinavian folk metal, wrapping everything in a maritime atmosphere, inspired by folk songs and sea shanties of the Anglo-Saxon tradition. They make sure they present a flashback to those times with stage scenery and costumes.

“If you play pirate metal, you can’t help but fill the stage with bandanas, chests, skulls, cutlasses, and pistols. We are arranging to bring real parrots and cannonballs on stage, but we are meeting some resistance from animal welfare and pacifist associations… Aesthetics aside, our live shows are notorious for creating absolute chaos above and below the stage, so it is not advisable to attend one of our concerts if you are looking for meditative and intellectual listening. We also hold the record of never having played sober since the beginning of our career, and we offer unlimited drinks to any fan who asks!” adds the band.

In 2013, they released the debut EP “Panic In The Harbour”, and first self-titled full-length in 2019. Now signing with Rockshots Records, the band will rum running their sophomore album “Isla de la Muerte” out on June 30th, 2023.

For this new record, the band kept the style of their debut album but improved every aspect of their music. “Isla de la Muerte” is much more aggressive, the songs are heavier, more dynamic, and more powerful than past ones. The fiddle tunes on the release are more epic and refined, and there’s no shortage of some of Calico Jack’s trademarks such as the Caribbean sounds in ‘Antigua’. The band also added important elements such as a track of pure classic heavy metal Running Wild-style (‘Bad Fortune’) and a journey through the eastern sounds of the Indian Ocean in the final suite ‘Sandokan’.

Today, Calico Jack shares their first taste off “Isla de la Muerte” with their music video for the single “Broadside Attack”. The song is about one of the best-documented naval battles in the history of piracy, where pirate Olivier La Bouche defeated Captain John Frost. He attacked Frost’s vessel in July 1717. It took him a 12 hours chase to catch up to the vessel and when he did it was 9 o’clock in the evening. The pirate vessel had twenty guns and a crew of 170. Olivier La Bouche’s ship fired a broadside of double rounds and partridges, and a volley of small shots. The band was inspired by this epic event to write a folk-power broadside with which to cannonball the audience at live shows. The track, and the whole album, begin with real noises of Dave picking up his fiddle and breathing before starting to play.

The band adds:

“‘Broadside Attack’ is our attempt to narrate the epicness and tension of a naval battle through adrenaline-fueled folk akin to speed-power metal. This song contains cheerful guitar and violin melodies that contrast with the speed and rhythmic roughness in a way that results in overflowing energy, and it also contains one of our most beautiful guitar solos. We want this to become one of our wildest and most incendiary live anthems, and we chose it as the first single and album opener because we want it to provoke in the listener the sudden impact of a cannonball broadside.”

eptember 22, 2023 will see hard rock veterans, BONFIRE, reissue their most wanted albums “Point Blank”,  “Fireworks” and “Don’t Touch The Light” as “MMXXIII” re-recording versions with an entirely new artwork. Available for the very first time as digital format on all streaming providers, as colored limited and none limited vinyl and as CD digipack, you can now pre-order your favorite album via AFM Records at THIS LOCATION!

Since more than 35 years, BONFIRE are the embodiment of “Hard’n’Heavy made in Germany“, and belong to one of the most iconic German hard rock bands to date; their latest, 2020-offering “Fistful Of Fire” garnered high positions in the German album charts. Their first three releases, “Don’t Touch The Light” (1986), “Fireworks” (1987) and “Point Blank” (1989), which have shaped a whole era, still hold a special position in BONFIRE’s career. As one of the group’s founding members and its main composer, Hans Ziller came up with an ambitious idea: How would the songs from those now slightly dated releases sound if they were re-recorded in contemporary studio conditions? This concept was particularly exciting because the band’s current line-up is one of the strongest of their entire career. 

And so his idea began to take shape: The outstanding, current BONFIRE line-up, featuring new, exceptional vocalist DYAN, has completely re-recorded all three albums, supported by updated cover artworks. As Zillerrecently said: “What we wanted to do was to record the songs as if Bonfire had been a metal band in the eighties!”


Following a previously-released new version of the song “S.D.I.”, today, BONFIRE are presenting us the “MMXXIII” single version of their classic “Who’s Foolin’ Who”! “A power ballad that has it all.” Ziller comments. “You can immediately hear, this is Dyan’s favorite ballad. His vocal skills are big cinema. The guitars are blazing that it’s a real pleasure. An absolute gem.”

In addition to DYAN and Ziller, the current BONFIRE line-up features solo guitarist Frank Pané (Valley’s Eve, Sainted Sinners), New York bassist Ronnie Parkes and drummer Fabio Allesandrini (Annihilator). What literally screams metal by name definitely sounds like it: These recent recordings of “Don’t Touch The Light”, “Fireworks” and “Point Blank” see BONFIRE deliver a timeless momentum from the original albums in a powerful sound that, despite its unbridled power, has lost none of its complexity. Ziller: “Of course, we kept to the original arrangements as much as possible, perhaps slightly changing a riff now and then or updating the sound of a guitar part. But all the essential elements, right down to the lyrics, have remained untouched.”

Withering Scorn was formed in 2020 by brothers Glen and Shawn Drover, who have played together previously in heavy metal icons Megadeth as well as in Eidolon. The pair have teamed up once again for their latest musical offering and are joined by Joe DiBiase on bass, who played with Fates Warning for 14 years on multiple records and world tours, and German native Henning Basse on vocals, who is most well-known for his work with Metalium, Firewind, and others. The potent combination of these four incredibly talented musicians joining forces has given birth to an uncompromising heavy metal record in the form of their debut offering, “Prophets Of Demise”. 

“The four of us have been musicians most of our lives. MITCH MALLOY Returns with New Solo Album “The Last Song”

MITCH MALLOY continues to rock the night away burning the midnight oil! After several years as the frontman for the iconic rock band Great White, Mitch returned to the studio writing and recording his new album, ‘THE LAST SONG.’ The album will launch with an exclusive, limited release collector’s edition vinyl through a partnership with SING. Pre-sales for the vinyl release started on May 3, 2023. An international release will follow in June. 

Once again, Mitch is undertaking an album solely by himself from start to finish – song writing, producing, instruments, mixing and mastering. In addition to being an artist, Mitch is no stranger to the studio, and has worked with a variety of artists, labels, and brands from Taylor Swift, Boys Like Girls, Kenny Loggins, Craig Morgan, and Sony Music NY, to singer/songwriters Victoria Show, Gary Burr and Billy Falcon, and even voiceover work for Outdoor Channel, Field & Stream and many more. Mitch has even been the voice for Starburst candy! 

Mitch is also an award-winning songwriter, and has written with legendary songwriters like Jim Weatherly, Richard Lee, Mike Reid, Desmond Child, Dennis Morgan, Victoria Shaw and Gray Burr. He’s been signed to publishing deals with Warner Chappell and Chrysalis Music, but later launched his own publishing company to control his copyrights. Mitch loves the craft of songwriting… telling a story and resonating with his audience. “Songs are so powerful… it’s amazing just how much a song can impact a person’s life,” says Malloy. “Once again, life has delivered a lot of new material… from losing family members, to moving to the beach, to having a teenager. There’s definitely no shortage of inspiration!”

Mitch’s tenure as an artist has spanned several decades beginning as a regular on the New York music scene in the 80s.   Mitch soon garnered a major recording deal with RCA/BMG Worldwide, and achieved success on the pop and rock charts, landed a coveted spot on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and has toured globally. 

Mitch’s voice has been highly sought after as a frontman for legendary acts as well as a guest vocalist on other artists’ projects. In the mid-90s, Mitch was asked to replace Sammy Hagar as lead singer for Van Halen. But after spending time and recording with the band he declined. “When the band appeared on the MTV Music Awards with Dave [David Lee Roth], the fans expected his return – I expected his return. I felt as cool as the opportunity was, it just wasn’t the right time,” said Malloy.
