About ALCEST:
For principal songwriter and frontman Neige, ALCEST has always been a gateway to the otherworldly, a means of exploring his spirituality. An elemental two-piece, completed by long-serving drummer and creative confidante Winterhalter, ALCEST seem to dip their toes in a multitude of musical genres without ever quite fitting in. “In the metal scene ALCEST is a weird band, in the indie/post-rock scene ALCEST is a weird band- we never quite fit in,” Neige reflects. “This is how I feel in life, always an outsider; It’s not a problem, it’s just the way it is.”
The band released their last album Spiritual Instinct in October 2019, a soul-gripping masterpiece whose successor is already in the making.

ALCEST is:
Neige | vocals, guitars, bass, synths
Winterhalter | drums

OVTLIER Release New Single + Official Music Video ‘Heartless’

Just recently OVTLIER teamed up with SiriusXM Octane for the exclusive world premiere of their latest single “Heartless”! The single released today via TLG/INgrooves to all major platforms along with the official music video that was directed by Tom Flynn . Tom has worked with artists such as All That Remains, Body Count, 10 Years, and more.

“They say, ‘hurt people, hurt people’. ‘Heartless’ is about ‘toxic’ relationships and the effects it can have on one, not just in the present but will leech on you and wreak havoc in the future. You can become so numb in the process of it all by taking the abuse, whether it be physical, mental or emotional you become that very thing you hate. After my experience of this, I shut down emotionally, even more than my childhood trauma. I would be transparent out of the gate and state how deadened I’ve become and that I did not want a relationship or anything to build upon. I refused let anyone in. I could not welcome love. It is a virus that transfers easily,” says Joey Arena.

He adds, “‘Heartless’ is my personal favorite to date. A contender to all deep cutter tracks. A song that’s speaks to you and has you coming back for more. Packing a punch out of the gate and delivering a melody that will have you singing along by the second chorus. Sonically charged and rich with exhaustive lyrics, ‘Heartless’ is the song you didn’t know you needed in your life.”

In addition to their loyal fan base, the band has caught attention through achieving features in major media outlets such as Revolver, Loudwire, Alternative Press, Decibel and ABC News.

Continually hitting the Billboard charts, Ovtlier has been able to spread their sound nationwide through constant spins on FM radio and months of regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane– launching them into the forefront of their genre. Ovtlier has had three singles featured on SiriusXM Octane; “Who We Are”, “Buried Me Alive” and “Blame The Dead” have made fans out of satellite radio listeners across the country and emphasizes the band’s ability to stay creative while maintaining an ever-growing fanbase.

Ovtlier brought 2022 to a close with “Living Dead”-bringing the band their biggest success yet. Ovtlier earned a steady average of 1.5 million streams monthly on three streaming platforms (Amazon Music, Spotify and Pandora) alone and saw “Living Dead” become the most played song on SiriusXM Octane. With “Living Dead” behind them, Ovtlier is gearing up to outdo their own personal best with their upcoming release “Heartless”. The track was written by the band’s lead vocalist and founder, Joey Arena, accompanied by Evan McKeever and Julian Comeau (Loveless). “Heartless” owes its production to Justin DeBlieck (Ice Nine Kills, Motionless In White) and Evan McKeever while joining its predecessor as the second single mixed by Chris Dawson (SAUL, Any Given Sin) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (Bad Omens, The Plot In You). With Ovtlier’s dedication and a star-studded team of support behind them, the success of “Heartless” as the band’s most-accomplished single is inevitable.

Failure By Proxy (FXP) is an American rock band from Galt, California. Founding member and drummer Eric “Spaz” Lewis established the band in December of 2017 with current members guitarist Chuck “Cash” Schubert and bassist and backing vocalist Chris “Gemini” Alosi. This would be the nucleus and creative foundation FXP would build upon.

The band had instant chemistry and begin writing new songs. Within six months they released two singles, “Not Gonna Break”(2018) and “In My Skin” (2018). With 8 songs written, the original lineup was ready to immerse themselves into the local Sacramento music scene.

As fate would have it, in November of 2018, Anthony “Antman” reached out to the band looking to see if they had interest in second guitarist. The combination of Cash’s bluesy Rock feel and Antman’s technical skill and knowledge was a perfect blend of feel, power and musicality. The musical foundation of FXP was now set but the band found themselves missing a vital piece with the departure of their singer in mid 2020.

The band set in search of their new frontman holding auditions until they came upon Rob Wall. Rob’s powerful vocals, writing style and stage presence brought the band up to a new level. The band was finally complete. But tragically in May of 2022, FXP was blindsided with the untimely passing of their singer and friend, Rob Wall. The band needed time to process what happened, to grieve and honor their friend.

After this brief hiatus, the band reached out to Antman’s former band mate and local Central Valley artist Big Elk to audition to be their new lead singer. The band sent new music that he immediately connected with and began writing at a feverish pace. After only 4 months Big Elk has recorded vocals to 5 new songs with 3 more ready to go! The new version of Failure By Proxy is complete and now sonically a force to be reckoned with.

Their high energy and stage presence have led them to open for national acts such as: Gemini, Messier, FLAW, Smile Empty Soul, Oleander, Puddle of Mudd, Buckcherry, Joyous Wolf, P.O.D., Nonpoint, Islander, Nine Shrines. Failure by Proxy was also nominated for Best Hard Rock band for 2018 in the Sacramento News & Review SAMMIES Award. FxP has also been featured nearly a dozen times on the Sacramento Rock Station 98.5 Rock.

Upcoming show:

5/7/23 Roseville, CA @ Goldfield’s Trading Post
Failure by Proxy w/Divide the Fall, Aware for Days, Signal, and COLD

Failure by Proxy are:
Chris “Elk” Elkins – Vocals
Chuck “Cash” Schubert – Guitar / Vocals
Antman – Guitar / Samples
Chris “Gypsy Blade” Alosi – Bass / Vocals
Eric “SpAz” Lewis – Drums / Samples / Screams

REACH NYC Sign Worldwide Deal With AFM Records & Premiere Music Video for Brand New Single ‘Killing Time’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 24, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: REACH NYC. Leave a comment

The hard rock alternative band, Reach NYC, has announced its return with a worldwide signing on German powerhouse label AFM Records! Featuring special appearances by Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach, Kiiara, Sonny & Marcos from P.O.D, Joey Santiago from The Pixies and Sendog from Cypress Hill, Reach NYC is currently gearing up for the release of their long-awaited, sophomore studio album.

Nils Wasko, Senior A&R Director of AFM Records, says: “Right from the start of our discussions with René Mata and REACH NYC, creativity and teamwork were the key words. We A&R’ed the whole album together and chose the best engineers and producers available. AFM is here to make sure everyone feels supported in every way. Getting to know René Mata has been such a pleasure and together we will propel their artistry even further on a global Hard Rock stage.”

Reach NYC was formed on Long Island in 1996. The band was active on the New York scene, frequently rocking infamous haunts like CBGB’s alongside the heavy hitting Papa Roach and System of a Down, and festivals like Vans Warped Tour. Originally named Reach 454, they caught a break when Lava/Atlantic president Jason Flom signed them after a strong performance at a label showcase. The band entered the studio in 2002 with producer Jay Baumgardner (Papa Roach, Evanescence), and emerged in the summer of 2003 with their self-titled debut. The album showcased Reach 454’s dynamic melodic shifts and riff-heavy guitar work. The band fell on hard times in 2004 and took an indefinite hiatus.

Throughout the years, Chester Bennington, one of the closest friends of Reach NYC vocalist Rene Mata, expressed to Rene how important it was for him to keep playing music. The last time Rene and Chester were together in NYC, they hosted a dinner hang with Jacoby, Tobin, and Tony from Papa Roach, Matt Sorum, Marcos of P.O.D., and Rob from Volbeat. While enjoying their dinner, Chester presented the idea of wanting to put together a tour for the following year with Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Deftones, System of a Down, Papa Roach and wanted Reach to open. Disastrously, Chester passed away that same July of 2017, and Rene fell into a dark depression.

Reach NYC has just premiered a music video for new single “Killing Time” on Revolver Magazine, and Rene reveals “The song is about my internal fight with myself after after losing a close friend. I had relapsed after 25 years of sobriety & had fallen into a massive depression after Chester passed away.

The video is the chaos in my subconscious in relapse & depression. A full on war in my heart, head and soul. Without Recovery, Family, Friends I wouldn’t have made it out alive. I know the band conveyed it in there playing and recording of the song.”

“Riffs Galore Powerful song what more do you want?” Asks Joey Santiago of The Pixies, while John Temptesta of The Cult agrees, “My NY bros Reach NYC knock it out of the park with their new single, Killing Time! Song is very catchy with great hooks and melodies. Excellent production!“

“This new REACH NYC tune Killing Time is as infectious as an OG case of Covid……absolutely sick af”, says Will Hunt (Evanescence), Marcos Curiel of P.O.D. comments: “‘Killing Time’ delivers that east coast gasoline. Definitely ignition for the soul to fire your ass up. I had the pleasure of performing on this record. I hope everyone enjoys listening to it, as much as I did guesting on it! Do yourself a favor. Turn this up to 11. Enjoy that east-coast Rock n roll.“

“I’m really happy these guys are back! Been following them since the start. The guys have always been hard working w their heart on there sleeves. Back from the dead is vibrant and exciting with outstanding vocals from Rene & Jacoby from Papa Roach a must listen. The video is visually stunning. The feeling of lost and alone is captivating.”– SenDog – Cypress Hill, Powerflo

In 2019, Reach NYC drummer Dante and Marcos Curiel encouraged Rene to put the band back together and open for P.O.D. in NYC. It was the band’s first show since 2004, and it quickly rekindled their friendship and their love of music. Their love for creating music, as well as the importance of friends and family, renewed their dedication to keep the project going.

On October 9th 2020, Reach NYC returned to the airwaves with a new EP titled, “Back From the Dead”, their first release in 17 years, also featuring Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach. The EP was mixed by Jay Baumgardner and mastered by Howie Weinberg in Los Angeles. The newly titled Reach NYC is featuring Rene Mata on vocals, Dante Renzi on drums, Nick Cavagnaro (guitars, vocals) and more recently adding young guns AJ Chiarella on guitars and vocals as well as bassist Tim Robbins. The band quickly got back to the stage, and returned to the New York scene performing with longtime friends Quicksand at the Bowery, and made an appearance at Danny Wimmer’s historic “Welcome to Rockville” festival in Daytona, FL in 2021. Most recently, Reach NYC signed a new international deal with AFM Records and is currently recording their sophomore album that is set to release in 2023, with special appearances by Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach, Kiiara, Sonny & Marcos from P.O.D, Joey Santiago from The Pixies & Sendog of Cypress Hill and Powerflo.
