XORSIST Premiere New Single ‘Coterie of the Depraved’

Stockholm, Sweden’s XORSIST are today premiering their new single, Coterie of the Depraved, via Decibel. Coterie of the Depraved is the second track to be taken from the death metal group’s forthcoming sophomore album, At the Somber Steps to Serenity, which is due for release via Prosthetic Records on October 6.

Following their self-released debut album Deadly Possession in 2022, XORSIST caught the attention of the Prosthetic Records with their old school approach to and affinity for Sweden’s death metal legacy and history. Founded by Gustav Ryderfelt (vocals and guitar) before cementing their line-up with both Birk Castenmalm (vocals and bass) and Alphonse Bouquelon (drums), XORSIST’s core sound is one rooted in deep reverence for the genre’s roots as much as it is a spirited progression of the raw and uncompromising Stockholm sound.

Seeking to continue their working relationship with the legendary Sunlight Studios (Dismember, At The Gates, Entombed, Grave and more), XORSIST once again opted to retain Tomas Skogsberg on co-production duties with Iñaki Marconi (Soen, Sepultura, Carcass). XORSIST’s proclivity for musical tradition is not mere homage so much as it is a graceful carrying of the genre’s torch. Siberian NYTT LAND Reveal New Album Details & Share Music Video for First Single ‘Nord’

Formed by shamanic couple Natasha “Baba Yaga” and Anatoly Pakhalenko in 2013, NYTT LAND is one of the most captivating and haunting acts the dark folk music scene has to offer. This fall, on October 6, 2023, the Siberian duo returns with its ninth epos, entitled Torem, via Napalm Records!

Torem invites listeners into a mystic world of ancient percussive instrumentation and mesmerizing vocal spheres. The album takes you on a unique sonic experience and journey of the band’s new trilogy, dedicated to the three worlds in the cosmology of their land. Torem is sung in old languages Khanty (Siberian Native Tribe) and Old Norse (Old Icelandic), and its title, in the Finno-Ugric languages of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, means “Great Sky” – the Great Sky on which “ancestors sit, and where the souls of people and animals are reborn in the form of birds. This is also the place where a shaman makes his first journey to learn the wisdom of the Great Spirit.”

Today, NYTT LAND presents the album’s first single – a song that according to the band, “is about the cycle of life, death and rebirth.“ NYTT LAND‘s unique sound is inspired by the sound of Siberian nature – their musical roots are deeply connected with mythology, historic themes and ancient shamanic culture, and you can’t resist tracks such as the hypnotic “Nord”!

THE 69 EYES Release Smoking Hot Cover Of RAMMSTEIN’s ‘Feuer Frei!’

Goth rock all-stars, THE 69 EYES, are setting the scene alight with another high-profile hit, hot on the heels of their gothabilly transformation of The Cramps’ “Aloha From Hell.” Their latest release comes just in time to bring the summer heat, as they roar to the forefront with a fiery rendition of Rammstein’s explosive hit, “Feuer Frei!” This scorching track was originally released as the fifth single from the German industrial giants’ third album, Mutter, which debuted on April 2nd, 2001, and has since sold nearly 1.7 million records worldwide. On August 9th, 2002, “Feuer Frei!” made its film debut in the Rob Cohen action feature, xXx, starring Vin Diesel, and can be heard in its near entirety at the beginning of the film, which takes place at a Rammstein concert.

Never ones to be outdone, however, The 69 Eyes have released their own cinematic companion to the track in the form of an official music video.
