Chicago, Illinois based metal outfit REPENTANCE has delivered another intense taste of their highly-anticipated sophomore full-length record, entitled “The Process Of Human Demise”, which will be out on September 1 via powerhouse label Noble Demon. Following the release of the first single “Withered & Decayed” (feat. Milo Silvestro of FEAR FACTORY), REPENTANCE follows up today with a lyric video for the album’s opening track “Buried By Fear”.
Guitarist Shaun Glass comments: “When we first started up the early jams of this song I knew it was something special & 100% was going to be a absolute bruiser of a song. Fast forward to June at the return of Milwaukee Metal Fest we debuted the song live for everyone and it was quite the response and for us as well! I can 100% say this track will punch you in the throat but in a good way!“
Vocalist Adam Gilley adds: “Buried by Fear is a smash to the face right from the start. It has the thrash and the groove to keep you moving. The song is about the fear of the unknown, the fear of death. Not knowing what is to be offered on the other side.“
Founded in 2018 by former SOIL and DIRGE WITHIN guitarist Shaun Glasss, REPENTANCE is a primal aggressive metal band; laden thick with heavy slabs of groove mesh that bleed intensity. Having played numerous gigs with high profile acts such as Trivium, Devildriver, Jinjer, Skull Fist, Toxic Holocaust, Sacred Reich and others, the band soon became known for their distinctive heavy yet dynamic sound, loaded with details and tension. In September 2021 REPENTANCE have announced their worldwide signing to Noble Demon, followed by the release of the band’s critically acclaimed latest EP “Volume I – Reborn” (2021). Five tracks of aggressive, fast-paced and technical compositions, enhanced by tight and sharp production, delivered an impressive Noble Demon debut and served as the perfect appetizer for the band’s sophomore full-length record. “The Process Of Human Demise” features 12 brand new tracks showcasing REPENTANCE at their strongest yet – With guest contributions from the likes of TRIVIUM‘s Corey Beaulieu and FEAR FACTORY‘s Milo Silvestro, the band’s upcoming album has become a relentless and intense maelstrom that will sweep you along and an album not to be missed in 2023!
“The Process Of Human Demise” was produced by Alex Lackner at Accelerated Sound. Mix and master by Chris Collier at CMC21 Productions. Album artwork by Colin Marks (Rain Song Design).

Founded in 1983 by Freddy Mylemans, the sole original band member, PatriarcH has solidified their lineup over the years with the additions of bass player Tweeva, guitar player Stijn Claessen, drummer Luc Seeuws, and vocalist Mario Cesar. Each member brings a wealth of experience and expertise from the metal scene, resulting in a harmonious and captivating synergy that shines through on “Demonic Heart.” The band describes their sound as a “fresh breath of air, a dynamic exhilarating sound that really is our own and stands out from the crowd.”
PatriarcH’s rich history dates back to its formation in February 1983 as Pariah. Due to conflicts with other groups sharing the same name, they rebranded themselves as PatriarcH in March 1988. The band signed a deal with Shark Records and released their debut album, “Prophecy,” in December 1990. Throughout the years, PatriarcH experienced lineup changes while recording demos and singles. In 2019, they welcomed Mario Cesar as their new vocalist, and together, they released a demo featuring three new songs. Despite the challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, PatriarcH persevered and completed the recording of their highly anticipated album, “Demonic Heart,” which led to their partnership with Wormholedeath Records for its worldwide release.
Brazilian fantasy power metallers DRAGONHEART will release their fifth studio album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” this coming August 2023 via Rockshots Records.
Revealing their first single “Dragonheart’s Tale” this past June, the band has their next track to unveil in the lead-up to the new album’s release.
Accompanied by a music video “The Devil is By My Side” is about the character “The Blacksmith” who is known from previous Dragonheart album stories and is loved by fans.
Vocalist Eduardo Marques explains:
“This track tells how Blacksmith sought a weapons master in a guild, but used forbidden magic to make them. He is banished from the guild and sent into exile. He swears they will one day need him when dark times come. (Blacksmith Music Anvil was used and the solo part now as Riff connecting the two songs and Thiago does a take on the plate as if he was forging a sword). With an 80s feel and influence from Accept this song is perfect to play live. With many quotes from the first song released in 2002 on the second album, The Devil Is By My Side has the potential to be a power/true metal hit”
Watch and listen below to the music video for “The Devil is By My Side”.
Dragonheart members are long-time friends that play songs with medieval and fantasy atmospheres. Some members are fans of RPGs, movies, and video games. As well as medieval music, renascence music, sailors songs, Celtic songs, 80s heavy metal, and German power metal. Their new album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is 52 minutes of power metal music of their own fantasy stories divided into 3 acts. The first talks about sea and pirates, the second about blood battles, and the third about magic and fire.
The album features 10 tracks covering many styles of power metal, with acoustic tavern music and an orchestrated track, voiceovers, and, sound effects stitching together the narrative of the fantasy world created by the band. The work is rich in instrumentals and vocal arrangements worthy of a band with 26 years on the road. It also features guest vocals from Henning Basse (Metalium, Fire Wind) on “Ghost of The Storm” and was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (Dream Evil, Hammerfall) along with the album cover artwork by Andreas Marschall (Kreator, King Diamond, Blind Guardian).
The album also marks the return of the band’s original vocalist, Eduardo Marques, the band explains:
“On our last album (Battle Sanctuary) we went towards a darker path, and now with “The Dragonheart´s Tale” we wanted to return to our original roots. This is an epic power metal record with medieval influences capable to put our fans to enjoy the fantasy stories. They are songs that old bards used to play telling legends in taverns of the olden days.”
Vocalist Eduardo Marques also adds:
“This new album is my Ph.D. in heavy metal. It was 19 years of waiting to return to Dragonheart and put all these musical stories together. It’s the highlight of our 26-year career and we hope we’ve made another power metal classic. We cover all varieties and influences in style. I believe that Dragonheart’s Tale has the capacity to make the fan dream again and live our sagas once more.”

About: The band Dragonheart started its activities on July 10, 1997, in Curitiba, in the south of Brazil. The original line-up had the brothers Marco Caporasso (guitar and vocals), Marcelo Caporasso (drums), Eduardo Marques (guitar and vocals), and Mauricio Taborda (bass and vocals). Soon the band was signed by a label and released their first album, Underdark. The album had excellent acceptance by the public and press.
With a good reception, they released their second album, “Throne of the Alliance”, the first part of a trilogy, and started to appear in 2002 as one of the main Brazilian power metal bands. The album has been mixed and mastered in Finnvox Studio in Finland and the cover art was by Andreas Marschall. And it was elected as one of the best live bands, album, and song of the year by the public and specialized vehicles in Brazil alongside Sepultura and Angra. In April, Eduardo Marques (guitar and vocals) left the band for personal reasons. At the beginning of September 2002, the entry of André Mendes (guitar and vocals) was announced.
In February 2005, the album Vengeance in Black was released, the second chapter of the trilogy, produced by the band and mixed and mastered by renowned producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids). The art was again in charge of the German artist Andreas Marschall. The album also left its mark on all the major media of the style and features the participation of German vocalist Olaf Senkbeil. And it yielded a tour in Brazil with the German band Grave Digger and 2 shows with the band Hammerfall and played with Nightwish, U.D.O, Epica, and many other great names of Worldwide Metal.
In 2010, drummer Marcelo Caporasso leaves the band. Then Thiago Mussi is cast on drums.
In 2015, the band ends the trilogy with its fifth album called: The Sanctuary Battle, produced by guitarist André Mendes, mixed and mastered at the Avant-Garde studio by the great Maiko Thome de Araujo. The cover was designed by Dusan Markovic. Pitch Black Records made a worldwide release with great repercussions in Brazil and abroad.
In 2019, the band invited one of the founders of Dragonheart, vocalist, and guitarist Eduardo Marques, to return to the lineup. After almost 20 years, he accepted the invitation and the challenge of composing an album that resumed the identity of the first two works.
Marco Caporasso (Vocals and Guitars), Eduardo Marques (Vocals and Guitars / Lead Guitars) e Thiago Mussi (Drums).
Finally, in 2022, the result of this journey comes true and the album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is recorded and planned to be released on Rockshots Records in August 2023.
Heavy metal heretics APOSTOLICA have released a video for their first single ‘Rasputin’, taken from the new album ‘Animae Haeretica’ to be released on September 22nd, via Scarlet Records.
Heavy metal heretics Apostolica have founded a new cult based on a mysterious, intriguing image, a bombastic and pristine sound, ultra-catchy riffs and plenty of unforgettable hooks.
The prominent style of the new album is a dark Teutonic power metal, enriched with church choirs and thunderous organs and featuring epic orchestrations and majestic, powerful vocal lines.
Drawing inspiration from the obscure history of the Apostolics (a Christian sect founded in Northern Italy during the late 13th century by Gherardo Segarelli), ‘Animae Haeretica’ delves deep into the sinister tale of this enigmatic movement.

Chicago, IL cybergrind group BLIND EQUATION has today shared a new single and music video, titled you betrayed the ones you loved. you betrayed the ones you loved is the second track to be taken from BLIND EQUATION‘s upcoming sophomore album, DEATH AWAITS, which is due for release via Prosthetic Records on September 15. Teaming up again with their long term collaborator angel gasm on directing duties, with editing handled by morta sustain, BLIND EQUATION‘s latest single incorporates a modern pop influence to their established sound and visuals.
Speaking on the single and music video release, BLIND EQUATION‘s James McHenry comments: “you betrayed the ones you loved is one of the first songs with a strong pop influence that I wrote for the album. I took a lot of influence from Porter Robinson and Jane Remover but wanted to still have the BLIND EQUATION sound present. The end result is a meeting point between our previous releases and DEATH AWAITS.
“Our long time collaborator angel gasm directed and filmed the video at the long abandoned First Estonian Church in rural Wisconsin, back in February. We sent it over to morta sustain for editing and we wanted to keep the VHS vibe of our previous video, never getting better, while focusing on a full band performance and implementing some new aesthetics in the mix and I think it came out great.”
Having become a staple name in the burgeoning modern cybergrind scene, BLIND EQUATION has seen sole songwriter James McHenry nurture his talents for the better part of a decade in the form of various split releases, EPs and 2021 full-length Life Is Pain. Abandoning genre confines, McHenry’s unique amalgam of grind, hardcore, extreme metal, chiptune and electronics has come to define BLIND EQUATION’s sound.
Following Life Is Pain’s warm reception in online circles by fans and critics alike, the intervening years have seen BLIND EQUATION amass numerous live performances and US tours – with shows alongside HEALTH, Author and Punisher, Tallah and The Callous Daoboys having taken place in 2023 alone – picking up a dedicated following for the band along the way.
n rare moments of downtime from the road, DEATH AWAITS was conceptualised as a meditation on real world anxieties and largely negative lived experiences. Retaining complete creative control of BLIND EQUATION’s musical and lyrical output, DEATH AWAITS was self-produced and mastered by McHenry for streaming and CD before being placed in the hands of audio engineer Steve Perrino for vinyl mastering duties.
Unflinching accounts of mutilation, deception and depression appear repeatedly throughout DEATH AWAITS, be it the pulsating 8-bit electronics and blastbeats of lead single never getting better that explode into positively anthemic proclamations of the title in the chorus, or the desiderium of you betrayed the ones you love’s electronic strings that give way to scathing rebuttals of broken trust. DEATH AWAITS presents interpersonal disarray and suffering in its rawest and most confessional form, summarised best on suffering in silence’s one-two vocal trade offs and glitched-out hardcore pandemonium featuring New Zealand artist DEATHTRIPPA.
DEATH AWAITS’ fatalistic worldview is captured in blurred neon pinks and grainy black by visual artist angel gasm, with light leaking effects on the symbolic flower as a beacon of hope among the hurt. For all the anguish BLIND EQUATION pulls from for the latest full-length there is sure to be those who find solace and comfort here, and DEATH AWAITS may well prove to not only be a watershed moment in modern cybergrind but also the beginning of a limitless creative incline for the band.
DEATH AWAITS tracklist: 1. death awaits 2. speedrunning life 3. you betrayed the ones you loved 4. fade away 5. choke 6. never getting better 7. killing me (featuring Rat Jesu) 8. suffering in silence (featuring DEATHTRIPPA) 9. warmth 10. the last glimpse of me
