Hard rock juggernaut SAINT ASONIA have released the music video for their single “Devastate.” Watch the video below.
The song is featured on the band’s new album, Introvert/Extrovert, which was released last December. The full-length also features previous singles “Above It All” and “Blinding Lights.”
Commenting on the new video, lead singer Adam Gontier shares, “We’re excited to share the new official video for ‘Devastate!’ Once again working with director Justin Reich, we had a blast doing this one. Hope you all enjoy it! 🤘🏻”
Talking about the meaning behind the track, Gontier adds, “It’s a song I wrote about those people in our lives that always seem to leave a trail of destruction behind them. I feel like we’ve all got, or had, someone in our lives that was just evil. Not caring about anything but themselves, and turning everything they touch into darkness. ‘Devastate’ is about that.”
SAINT ASONIA, comprised of heavy hitters Gontier (former Three Days Grace front man) and Mike Mushok (Staind guitarist/founding member), have been making plenty of noise of late! In addition to the stellar release of Introvert/Extrovert, the band is currently on tour in the US supporting Theory of a Deadman and Skillet.
Following the U.S. trek, Saint Asonia will play a series of headline shows in Canada, along with a support gig in the band’s hometown with Theory of a Deadman. In anticipation of these dates, Gontier says, “We are really stoked to be coming back home to Canada for a few shows! We’re working up a killer set for the headline shows, and supporting Theory in our hometown of Peterborough is going to be awesome! Let’d goooo CA!!!”

Bristlecone is the first EP release on Iron Head Records for Denver’s riff rock band, SEA OF FLAME. The five track EP showcases hooky, groovy guitar work coupled with complex, ever moving rhythms. Lyrically, the EP reflects on the isolation of the modern world and the power of breaking that isolation by banding together to accomplish more than can be done as individuals.
“We chose Bristlecone to be the title of the EP very intentionally. Those trees live thousands of years. Over that time they twist and turn into something gnarled but beautiful and tenacious. In a lot of ways that is emblematic of the journey of this band,” says bassist Ben.
BRISTLECONE tracklisting: 1. Pins and Needles 2. Loper 3. Lorena Hobbit 4. Rat Feast 5. Bristlecone
ABOUT SEA OF FLAME Sea of Flame is a slow burn that grows to an inferno. Over ten years of honing their craft in Denver’s underground rock and metal scene, the quartet of Ben, Heavy, Jim, and Miles have a reputation for powerful shows that bring the heat. “It’s always about playing live,” co-founder and drummer Jim Cook says. “We didn’t start this to be a studio band. We want to go up on stage and give the audience something they haven’t seen.” Formed in 2012 by Jim and Heavy, Sea of Flame has evolved over the years. Sometimes they were a three piece, sometimes a four piece band. For a year they were an instrumental outfit. With the additions of Ben on bass and Miles on vocals and guitar, the band stepped up to the next level. Along the way, two EPs were produced – their self-titled debut and 2018’s Ballast. “We needed time to shape our sound,” Heavy says. “We are at a point here, ten years into the band, where we have really found what makes Sea of Flame different from other bands. It’s a special combo of what each of us brings to the table.” “We strive to have lyrics and vocal melodies that bring everyone in. A lot of heavy bands express only one emotion. That can be cool, but we want to do more,” reflects Miles. With the release of Bristlecone, Sea of Flame has joined forces with Iron Head Records and Golden Robot Records. This partnership allows the band to move beyond the limit of what they can do alone. After ten years, Sea of Flame is stronger than ever and looking to burn.

With their 14th studio album Himmelfahrt, SUBWAY TO SALLY present a new beginning and departure. The German folk rock pioneers unveil their new album tomorrow, March 24, 2023 via Napalm Records, celebrating hope and life together with their fans!
The fourth single from the new album, “Weit Ist Das Meer” (The Sea is wide) underlines the album’s general mood and inspires hope, while spreading desire and depth. The lyrics focus on maritime topics, while musically, it is the most quiet and soulful of the previously released singles, highlighting Eric Fish’s haunting voice.
SUBWAY TO SALLY on the new album: “The new album marks a turning point. Himmelfahrt represents the ending and a new beginning at the same time. The work on the songs for Himmelfahrt began long before Corona, shortly after the release of the last album HEY!. This album addressed a broken world, the destructive treatment of people with their own kind and the environment in which they live. As the pandemic hit the world, most of the album seemed prophetic and depressing. All the material created up to that point had to be put to the test and was disposed of as outmoded.”
SUBWAY TO SALLY have always dealt with the dark sides of the human soul with relish. Over the years, a lot of blood has been spilled and murdered for love. But the lust for doom is an attitude that works well when a fully fueled helicopter is waiting on the roof to carry us away from the zombie apocalypse.
For the first time in the thirty years of the band’s history, we had to ask ourselves if it wasn’t time to celebrate hope. Hope is fuel for the future, and so many songs on the new album are about departure and journey, about reaching out to others to lead them from the deepest depths into the light. However, the most current events in the world put this hope to a difficult test. This explains the downer, the bitterness that clouds hope. That’s why God had to say a word on the album, to vent this disappointment in his work.”

DAKAR is the capital of Senegal. Dakar is a rally race. Dakar is also an American rock band from Duval County, Florida: named after the street in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville where it was founded by David Benfield, Darrell Edmunds and Luke Jean in 2019.
Benfield and Edmunds initially based their songwriting in the style of 90s guitar-driven alternative hard rock with 2020’s Come and Get It EP and evolved from there, incorporating indie, punk, modern, and southern with an unabashed penchant for pro-democracy, anti-facist, pro-diversity, and anti-racist themes.
In 2021, Dakar followed up with their EP Over the Line, leading off with a raucous dystopian cautionary title track blending overdriven classic rock guitars with an anti-police state theme reflecting the sentiment of the previous year’s political strife in the U.S.
After a few attempts with a fourth member, the band recruited bassist Alejandro Soto and recorded their debut full-length, Say It Again, at Friends of Friends studio in Jax with engineer Brok Mendes. The band was unanimous in their account of the nine-month production process as arduous, but gratifying.
Of all the meanings of Dakar, the boys prefer the name derived from the Senegalese local Wolof word meaning “whoever settles here will be in peace”.
