BAD BONES Release New Video for ‘Libertad’

Releasing their sixth album “Hasta El Final!” this past March via Rockshots Records, BAD BONES have a new music video to rock out your summer out to. Entitled “Libertad”, it’s an epic and powerful song that brings to mind the Hagar-era Van Halen and the Scorpions.

“We don’t always get what we want, living leads us to many compromises, but when we go out and about, all we want is to be free, break the chains, and resist daily disappointments.” adds the band.

Influenced by NWOBHM to the LA street rock scene, Bad Bones was formed in 2007. The band has made a name for themselves with tours across Europe along with making the move from Italy to LA in 2009 to make a foothold in the USA until returning to their home country in 2010. Over the years, the band has consistently toured the USA and Europe with appearances at events such as the Hollywood Rock Convention, Italian Gods of Metal, and Metalitalia Festival along with supporting bands like Steel Panther, Hardcore Superstar, Crucified Barbara, Entombed, Gotthard, Crazy Lixx, Strana Officina and more.

True Metal Magazine named “Bad Bones” the Best Hard Rock band of the year for 2010 along with Metal Hammer Italy awarding “Demolition Derby” the Best Album of The Year for 2016.

A musical amalgamation of blues, punk, classic rock, and heavy metal, Bad Bones‘ latest offering “Hasta El Final!” is a powerful record, that shakes your bones and must be listened to in one go, in its entirety, just like taking a shot of whiskey, throw it down and then enjoy it while it warms your guts.

“The sound of the band has changed since the beginning, the first album “Small-town Brawlers” was very raw, it sounded almost punk in some ways, in 2012 when Max Malmerenda joined the band, who has an amazing and very melodic voice, a process had begun that led us to write albums more on the 80s hard rock side like “Demolition Derby” in 2016, today, with the return of Mekk we have found a more powerful sound and we have several songs that we could define as heavy metal. We want Hasta El Final! to hit you like a punch in the face, we had this in mind, make it compact and powerful, we didn’t use samples, nor quantized/triggered fake drums, everything was played live, even the overdubs were kept to a minimum, and we wanted to keep the fierce spirit of our first albums.” says the band.

Making uncompromising rock that is meant to be loud in volume and make ya sweat in the pit, Bad Bones give listeners classic old-school rock n’ roll fun. Their lyrics reflect the things they see and hear, from memories, and life experiences, but also from movies or places they’ve been, there have many sources of inspiration that fans can clearly relate to.

Perth’s fearless, riff-laden, genre-bending band VOYAGER are back with their long-awaited eighth studio album ‘Fearless In Love’ scheduled for release on July 14th via Season Of Mist.

The band is now releasing the second brand new song “Ultraviolet”, featuring Sean Harmanis of MAKE THEM SUFFER, which is available via all digital service providers HERE and comes in the form of a music video HERE.

VOYAGER comment on the track: “‘Ultraviolet’ is certainly one of the darkest songs on the album. As the protagonist struggles to cope with the pressure of the modern world and its insane demands, the song has a message that we hope will resonate with many people. We collaborated with director Matt Pitcher to tell this story in a cinematic way. Due to the dissonant nature of the track, we decided to enlist our good friend and Sean Harmanis, to perform a guest vocal spot to really portray the unsettling emotion we wanted to communicate in the track, and he totally slays“

Pre-order can be found HERE!

THE COLD STARES Release Brand New Single ‘Cross The Line’

The Indiana trio, THE COLD STARES, have spent the start of the summer winding their way around the streets of Europe, including Sweden, Denmark and Norway in June, electrifying audiences and they are now set to the UK for a run of dates that include headlining performances in Sittingbourne and  Southampton, they will be playing with The Damn Truth in London before their first UK festival performance when they headline the Phoenix Stage at the Maid of Stone Festival in Kent. Tickets are available HERE. To celebrate the tour, they have revealed an unheard song, “Cross the Line,” which you can listen to HERE.

“Cross The Line” was part of the Voices album session the band recorded in Nashville. The song is a swirl of Univibe Strat tones and Fuzz Box sounds stapled to a snarly lyric about a vindictive lover. Talking about the song singer-guitarist Chris Tapp says, “When it came time to cut the album down to 13 tracks we pulled “Cross The Line” to hold it and another track for single release, just because we felt they would work well alone. It was a great opportunity to explore some different tones on the guitar as well as push ourselves into new territory with Bryce on bass.”

Talking about the tour, he goes on to say,” We’ve been amazed by the turnout and enthusiasm of the fans on this run. We are very excited to be back in the UK for another round of shows accompanying the “Maid Of Stone” festival. We love our UK fans and our only regret was that time restraints on the schedule only allowed us a week of shows. Playing in the UK always feels like home, because it’s the birthplace of British Blues which has always had one of the biggest impacts on the songwriting and our mentality as a band. It’s part of our DNA.”

Self-produced by the band and recorded almost entirely over just two days with engineer Mark Needham (Taj Mahal, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Walk the Moon, Fleetwood Mac), ‘Voices’ stands as The Cold Stares’ most mature, eclectic collection yet, balancing gritty muscle and tender emotion in equal measure. The band released multiple videos from the album in The Joy, Nothing But The Blues,  Throw That Stone , Got No Right (live) and recently revealed Nothing But The Blues (Live and Stripped)

“We approached ‘Voices’ as each song being an idea for a film,” Tapp explains. “I think they still work well together but provide the listener a little bit more of a journey through the course of the album than we’ve provided in the past.”

Recently, their song “One Way Outta Here” – from the album ‘Head Bent’ – was the featured track on episode 3 of the final FX season of Mayans and tunes from their albums turned up everywhere, from ESPN and TNT to the hit video game Cyberpunk 2077.

Live is where the band truly thrive, and they’ve flexed that muscle on the road with the Rival Sons, Larkin Poe, Reignwolf, Spoon, Grand Funk Railroad, and Thievery Corp, among others. Chris Tapp (vocals, guitar), Brian Mullins (drums) and Bryce Klueh (bass) have a stage presence of electrifying authenticity. It is not one to be missed.

Metal Comedian DON JAMIESON on Latest Episode of Metal Mayhem Roc Podcast: “Have bands just become brands?”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 10, 2023

On this week’s show, Metal Walt presents another installment of their series “Rock N Roll Detention”, the specialty show where they take a deep dive into a particular talking point.

Metal Walt shared:
During this week’s episode, we welcome comedian and heavy metal enthusiast Don Jamieson to help us absorb the current state of bands. Are they just brands? Can they and should they continue with less and less original members? Does the general audience realize or even care that these bands have replacement members. Pantera without Dime and Vinny? Queensryche minus Tate and DeGarmo? Foreigner without any original members? All viable and debatable topics.

To help us navigate this discussion, we welcome back an old friend, original co-founder of Metal Mayhem ROC and die hard metal head Mark Washo. Mark shares his view’s of Judas Priest, Helloween and some Arch Enemy.

Another example of a great, unique, conversation filled with in-depth antidotes and disclosures found only here at Metal Mayhem ROC.

Thank you for the support and remember to always KEEP IT HEAVY!!

Blackbraid is a solo indigenous black metal project from from the depths of the Adirondack wilderness creating music as raw and powerful as the mountains from whence it came…

“…you can hear a delicately strummed acoustic guitar here, a traditional flute there. Catchy riffs, most notably on the single ‘The Spirit Returns,’ coexist with ambitious tracks like the 13-plus-minute ‘Moss Covered Bones on the Altar of the Moon,’ which waxes and wanes like an epic saga.” – The New York Times

“To get right to it, Blackbraid II is an early contender for black metal record of the year… able to take the traditional sounds of black metal and then further shape and move them in a very distinct and novel direction.” – Metal Injection (10/10)

“…one of the finest albums to grace black metal in years and you just get the feeling there is still more to come from this truly special band.” – Distorted Sound Magazine (10/10)

“Sgah’gahsowáh channels his heritage and love for the earth through his music, and with that, he also brings a certain energy that conjures up desert dunes and rolling planes from North America just as well as a Norwegian black metal band conjures up snowy, bleak hills.” – Metal Sucks (4.5/5)

“…forging a new path forward for black metal in 2023, one that will likely continue to set him apart from his contemporaries and become one of the biggest new faces in the genre for years to come.” – Heavy Music HQ (4.5/5)

IMPERIAL AGE have announced their Homecoming Acoustic Concert in London and Livestream, taking place on August 16th.

IMPERIAL AGE shared:

“We will be playing a special Homecoming Acoustic Concert in London on the 16th of August 2023. For those who don’t live in London, there will be a special Online Livestream – so that you can join from any part of the world!

After protesting and leaving our native Russia as soon as its aggression against Ukraine began and living for a year in Turkey, we were eventually endorsed by Arts Council England as “Exceptional Talents“.

We were granted UK residency under the Global Talent Programme and moved to Britain on 17th April 2023. Following 2 months of searching we finally settled in Northamptonshire and, after almost 1.5 years of peril and uncertainty, are now ready to continue doing what we are best at – music.

The Acoustic Concert in London
To celebrate our new home, we will play an acoustic concert on the 16th of August at London’s legendary Cart & Horses – the birthplace of Iron Maiden.

This will be our first ever acoustic show, featuring our songs in a smaller setting, played on acoustic guitars, piano, cello and drums.

Livestream
The concert will be filmed in real-time with several cameras and broadcast as a livestream to watch and listen online so that fans from all over the world can enjoy it as well.

Tickets:
the ones for in-person attendance in London got sold out pretty quick;
but tickets for viewing the livestream are still available.

This is the first time we have ever done an acoustic concert, and a significant moment in our story, which YOU – our fans – are the most significant part of.

Get your tickets now and witness history happening right in front of your eyes!”
