Extreme death metal masters INFERI will be unleashing its latest studio album, ‘Heaven Wept,’ on April 10, 2026 via The Artisan Era! To celebrate the forthcoming record, the band is now pleased to share the pummeling first single, “The Rapture of Dead Light,” along with a music video!

The clip sees INFERI vocalist Stevie Boiser, guitarist/vocalist Malcolm Pugh, guitarist Sanjay Kumar, and new drummer Nate Bigelow embark on an Indiana Jones style quest for the elusive Bigfoot. Watch the band square off with the battle-jacket wearing and headbanging entity to find out if their intricate riffs are a match for the enigmatic beast at THIS LOCATION.

INFERI comments, “We’re proud to announce our 2026 release, ‘Heaven Wept,’ marking the longest gap between albums since our return in 2014.

This album came together under challenging circumstances—after the departure of Mike Low (guitar), we had to completely rewrite material. We then brought Sanjay Kumar (Wormhole / Equipoise) into the fold and the process began anew. With Andrew Kim’s exit to join Brand of Sacrifice, Malcolm stepped in to perform bass duties.

Heaven Wept is also the final album with Spencer Moore (drums) before he moved on to Archspire. We decided to work with Mike Low again for recording, mixing, and mastering. His deep understanding of our approach made him the perfect partner to help us refine our sound with the new lineup.

The result is our most crushing and diverse material yet—an album that pushes INFERI to new extremes while staying true to the melodic and technical foundation we’ve always built upon.”

‘Heaven Wept’ can be pre-order and pre-saved HERE.

The album artwork was created by Helge C. Balzer.

Tracklist:
01: The Rapture of Dead Light (04:19) [WATCH]
02: Feed Me Your Fear (05:05)
03: Master of Nothing (04:49)
04: Eternally Lie (04:25)
05: Heaven Wept (05:10)
06: Atonement Denied (05:30)
07: Of Rotted Wombs (04:03)
08: Godless Sky (04:23)
Full running time: 00:37:44

In addition, INFERI will be performing at producer Dave Otero’s inaugural Flatline Festival, which takes place June 13 – 14 at the Oriental Theater in Denver, CO. More info and passes can be found HERE.

Since the explosive success of Inferi’s critically-acclaimed and chart topping 2018 full-length, ‘Revenant,’ the death metal battalion has continued to relentlessly churn like a raging maelstrom, dominating everything in its wake with the band’s melodic and virtuosic approach to the genre. ‘Heaven Wept’ picks up where 2021’s ‘Vile Genesis’ left off, putting forth the same mind-bending compositions and other-worldly musicianship that has set the band apart from their contemporaries. Inferi has risen to become a dominant force among modern American death metal acts since their reunion in 2011. ‘Heaven Wept’ is a master class in progressive extremity and is certain to make its mark as one of the greatest death metal offerings of this decade.

Formed in 2006, INFERI is an American technical melodic death metal band forged from the depths of Nashville, Tennessee. After reforming in 2011, INFERI emerged onto the global stage with ‘The Path of Apotheosis’ in 2014. Followed by the acclaimed 2018 release ‘Revenant,’ which landed at #26 Hard Rock albums and #28 on the Billboard’s Heatseekers charts, solidifying them as a household name in the underground technical death metal scene. Touring across the world with bands such Rivers of Nihil, Archspire, Shadow of Intent, Cryptopsy, Signs of the Swarm, Brand of Sacrifice, Deicide and Revocation allowed INFERI to continue on their upward trajectory. Creeping their way up the charts, and into the minds of new fans with ‘The End of an Era: Rebirth’ in 2019, their ‘Of Sunless Realms’ EP in 2020, and 2021’s ‘Vile Genesis.’ Now in 2026 INFERI stands ready to unleash their most devastating album to date, ‘Heaven Wept’.

DON’T BELIEVE IN GHOSTS Premiere New Music Video for ‘Paper Tiger’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 17, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DON’T BELIEVE IN GHOSTS. Leave a comment

New York City indie rock band Don’t Believe In Ghosts have released the new music video for “Paper Tiger,” the latest single from their album But On The Bright Side, out now via Mindful Recordings. Despite arriving late in the year, the album has already landed on multiple Best of 2025 album lists, an impressive showing that’s carried the band’s momentum into the new year.

The “Paper Tiger” video captures the restless, emotional push-and-pull at the heart of the song — that feeling of chasing something just out of reach while trying to keep your footing. It leans into moments of doubt, desire, and quiet determination, mirroring lyrics that wrestle with heavy thoughts, fragile confidence, and the promise of sticking it out anyway. There’s tension here, but also lift — the sense that even when things feel uncertain, forward motion still counts.

The track was co-written by and features backing vocals from Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs), Nick Brown (Mona), and Don Miggs (Whole Damn Mess), bringing a familiar melodic sensibility and collaborative edge. It was mixed by Mark Needham, whose résumé includes The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Fleetwood Mac, Neon Trees, and Chris Isaak, giving the song its balance of polish and punch.

Musically, “Paper Tiger” rides a driving groove into a sky-high chorus with a massive, sticky hook, pairing introspective verses with a wide-open, anthemic release. The song appears on But On The Bright Side, an album recorded across New York City, Nashville, and the Midwest, with an emphasis on live performances, analog gear, and classic studio workflows.

With the release of the “Paper Tiger” video, Don’t Believe In Ghosts continue to sharpen their blend of emotional songwriting and big-picture indie rock — music that feels lived-in, hopeful, and built to connect.

The band—Steven Nathan (vocals), Dan DelVecchio (guitar), and Ken Yang (drums)—has built a reputation for anthemic songwriting and high-energy performances. Past highlights include the Needham-mixed track “Put Your Head Back”—featured in the Apple TV+ series WeCrashed—and “Don’t Wake Me Up”, which debuted at #2 on the ALL ACCESS retail radio chart and featured comedy legend Gilbert Gottfried in its video. “Slow Down”has surpassed 2 million plays on retail radio, and “Summer High” landed multiple Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists.

With their electrifying live shows—twice headlining sold-out performances at the Bowery Ballroom—and a track record of infectious, uplifting releases, Don’t Believe In Ghosts (Mindful Recordings / Symphonic) shows no sign of slowing down. But On The Bright Side is set to be their most ambitious and sonically rich release yet.

Stay tuned for more updates, and join Don’t Believe In Ghosts on this exciting journey.

LILLA VENEDA Reveal Unreleased Song ‘Beyond The Lucid Passage’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 17, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LILLA VENEDA. Leave a comment

Lilla Veneda was initiated and founded in 2009 in Wrocław (Poland) by Virian.

Band took the name from one of the most famous Polish romantic tragedies – Lilla Weneda written by Juliusz Slowacki.

“Beyond the Lucid Passage” is the latest single from Lilla Veneda, released as a transitional work connecting the band’s recent full-length album Primordial Movements (February 29th 2024) with its current creative evolution.

Originally recorded during the “Primordial Movements” sessions, the track did not fully align with the album’s final sonic direction at the time. However, its strong identity and compositional depth made it clear that the song represented an important turning point for the band. Revisited with fresh perspective, it has now been fully remixed to reflect Lilla Veneda’s present sound and artistic intent.

Musically, “Beyond the Lucid Passage” delivers modern, rhythm-driven riffs, a dense and powerful production, and intense vocal performances, while maintaining original melodic structures that are characteristic of — and unique to — Lilla Veneda. These distinctive melodies remain a core element of the band’s identity, setting the track apart within the modern metal landscape.

Lyrically, the song explores themes of inner transformation, consciousness, and humanity’s confrontation with the unknown—both within the self and on a cosmic scale. It serves as both a standalone release and a clear statement of direction, pointing toward a more spacious, ritualistic, and trance-driven expression.

The single’s cover artwork is a reinterpreted version of the “Primordial Movements” album cover, created by Anna Sobczak, reinforcing the conceptual link between the releases. The remix was handled by Przemysław Nowak at Impressive-Art Studio (Asgaard, Odraza, Outre), ensuring sonic continuity while elevating the track to meet the band’s current production standards.

Single “Beyong the Lucid Passage” is available at all popular streaming platforms (here).

UNZUCHT Release New Single And Video ‘Katharsis’

German dark rock band UNZUCHT releases their new single ‘Katharsis’. The song is the first single from their upcoming studio album ‘Neon Dom’, which will be released on 15 May by Metalville.

‘Katharsis’ is the outlet for cleansing the soul of old burdens, inner conflicts and struggles experienced. A way out of the darkness to befriend your own demons, to understand them and learn to love them. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, even if it cannot be seen yet.

With their new studio album ‘Neon Dom’, UNZUCHT herald a new era of musical darkness – without giving up the search for redeeming light.

The work combines brutal intensity with deep black emotionality, creating a soundscape that challenges, overwhelms and fascinates at the same time.

The songs lead like a controlled fall into a world permeated by shadows: carried by powerful guitars, uncompromising rhythms and the new voice of frontman Timm, who transforms pain, anger and unshakeable strength into pure energy.

‘Neon Dom’ is more than an album – it is a liberating blow. ‘Darkness is followed by light and I burn all bridges,’ says Feuerregen. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, UNZUCHT rises anew: a musical monolith that only reveals its true power when you are ready to face your own demons.

Thematically, the album explores the boundaries of human existence: inner conflicts, a battlefield of fears and the disintegration of supposed certainties – and yet the tireless search for hope in a world that is increasingly slipping away.

Neon Dom breathes darkness in all its forms — no turning back. Or: Here begins the journey into the heart of darkness — no turning back.

Created from the shards of human fragility, reforged in the fire of an unyielding will.

THE MAGUS Invoke the Serpent Self with ‘Magia Obscura’ Single & Lyric Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 17, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: THE MAGUS. Leave a comment

The Magus, the Luciferian project helmed by Necromantia co-founder and ex-Rotting Christ musician, has unleashed the second single and lyric video from the upcoming sophomore album, “Daemonosophia”. Titled “Magia Obscura”, the track delves into the esoteric heart of the project, exploring the profound depths of spiritual and physical evolution.

Following the aggressive stance of the first single “Pseudoprophetae”, “Magia Obscura” arrives further expanding the diverse and uneasy atmosphere promised for the new record.

Listen to “Magia Obscura”: https://thecirclemusic.lnk.to/MagiaObscura

The Magus provided the following insight into the track’s theme:

“Magia Obscura is about transformation and evolution. Both in physical and the metaphysical plane. Through transformation comes enlightenment. Through the Serpent self you communicate with the Draconian core. A rite of passage for the sorcerer. A step closer to Daemonhood…..”

“Daemonosophia”, the follow-up to “ΒΥΣΣΟΔΟΜΩΝΤΑΣ”, is set to be released on 20 February 2026 via The Circle Music and is available to pre-order in CD and vinyl formats, along with a limited luxurious box set and merch bundles: https://thecirclemusic.gr/product-category/the-circle-releases/?filter_artist-name=the-magus

Pre-save the album on digital platforms: https://thecirclemusic.lnk.to/Daemonosophia

The Magus previously revealed that the new album promises a more aggressive and dynamic sound than the first album, “ΒΥΣΣΟΔΟΜΩΝΤΑΣ”, while keeping the devouring dark atmosphere the project’s music is known for. The album’s sound has some unexpected and diabolically diverse moments that will make listeners feel uneasy.

For the album cover art, The Magus collaborated with Mexican artist Nestor Avalos, known for his work with numerous bands, including Exodus, Deicide and Rotting Christ. The artwork is an Infernal Triptych that portrays six infernal entities: Lucifer/Samael, Leviathan/Tiamat, and Belial/Satan. Nestor created a majestic painting of infernal wisdom and occult meanings, giving prominence to the Luciferian tradition and the music of the album.

Tracklist:

  1. Pater Noster
  2. Pseudoprophetae
  3. Daemonosophia
  4. The six in three is all One
  5. The Era of Lucifer Rising- A Luciferian interpretation of the THOU ART LORD classic
  6. Magia Obscura
  7. Amelia
  8. The Chapel of Iniquities
  9. The Pact
  10. La Llorona Negra

The Magus was formed in 2022, following the dissolution of the legendary Greek black metal band Necromantia, which The Magus co-founded. He decided to end Necromantia after the death of his bandmate Baron Blood in 2019, releasing a final album, “To the Depths We Descend”, in 2021 as a tribute. A seminal figure in the extreme scene, The Magus’s storied history includes playing a pivotal role in the early days of Rotting Christ and co-founding the cult project Thou Art Lord alongside Sakis Tolis. For this new project, The Magus continues his legacy of uncompromising Luciferian Black Metal, bringing in long-time collaborators El on guitars and Maelstrom on drums to push the boundaries of the Hellenic sound.
