Polish SHODAN Premiere ‘Demortality’ Video

Polish death metallers SHODAN premiere the new video for their latest single “Demortality”, directed by Robert Zembrzycki (Fat Wolf Pictures). The song is taken from the band’s new album “None Shall Prevail”, out now via Time To Kill Records. Watch the video HERE.

“Demortality is a process of gaining immortality of human soul. A spirit that evolves, is scarred, dares to create and which remembrance lives forever on since its creation despite the human shells it lives in. We are the sparks in the objective cosmos. Dreaming eternally. And we are demortalized gods in the micro universe defined by each one of us. Demortalized”.

SHODAN delivers the follow-up to their 2020-released album “Death, Rule Over Us” with “None Shall Prevail”, an album of towering, progressive, dark death metal with hammering, crawling grooves, refined and escalating riffs, and lurching, calculated chord progressions.

Tracklist:

1. Tamed in unison
2. Despair Snares
3. Demortality
4. Ethos
5. Staring Back at The Abyss
6. Lords
7. Nicość Wiekuista
8. Nighttime Violators
9. None Shall Prevail

SHODAN is a death metal three-piece conceived in Wrocław, Poland in 2013. Distinctive style of the band is a unique hybrid of death metal brutality, progressive approach towards song structures and melodies deeply rooted in cold wave aesthetics. In 2015 SHODAN together with producer Arkadiusz “Malta” Malczewski recorded tracks for their debut LP called “Protocol of Dying”. The record was released in spring 2016 under the cooperative flags of Defense Records and Deformeathing Production. The album was followed by a dozen of live appearances with acts like Sinister, Absu, Beheaded or Rotting Christ as well as appearances at festivals such as Gothoom, Into the Abyss, Metalmania or Castle Party.

After a successful cooperation with producer Kuba Mańkowski (Azarath, Behemoth, Blindead), in April 2020, the band released “Death, Rule Over Us” via Deformeathing Productions, which introduces a slightly different approach towards music with more experiments, raw, organic sound and cold wave melodic influneces involved. The album was again followed by a series of gigs with Hate, Krzysztof Drabikowski’s Batushka, Rotting Christ and Blood Incantation, and summer festivals, like Summer Dying Loud.

In 2023 SHODAN signed a record deal with Time To Kill Records and released their newest opus “None Shall Prevail”.

Szczepan Inglot: Guitars, Vocals
Michał Jarosz: Drums
Tomasz Sadlak: Bass, Vocals

SCHATTENMANN Release New Album “Día de Muertos”, Out Now

While they are currently on tour with EISBRECHER, today, industrial dark rock and metal act SCHATTENMANN is celebrating the release of their much-acclaimed, fourth studio offering titled Día de Muertos. The album is out now on AFM Records, to order your copy visit THIS LOCATION!

With their unique sound and profound music, SCHATTENMANN has become one of the most promising bands in the German metal scene. Chaos, the band’s latest, much acclaimed album (2021, AFM Records), has already seen them unmistakably showcase: SCHATTENMANN‘s sound became heavier, more metallic, more multifaceted and uncompromising in terms of content.

With Día de Muertos, SCHATTENMANN has purposefully expanded their sound to include modern and enthralling elements through the influences of metal and industrial, and their new record won’t make any exceptions. The album promises to take dark rock and metal enthusiasts on an even more intense journey and solidify their already strong presence in the world of heavy music!

“On ‘Día de Muertos’, you will only find songs that get straight to the point without detours. Half-hearted ideas or even filler material is sought in vain here,” frontman Frank Herzig said, who also produced and mixed the album.

“We sorted out a lot during the songwriting and kept only the very best tracks to present to the public. In this way, ten strong songs have been created that leave no questions unanswered.”

This statement is all the more true since Herzig and his three bandmates Jan Shook (guitar), Luke Shook (bass) and Nils Kinzig (drums) once again draw on the full range of content. Their credo is: “We wish, that our fans are touched by our music and take something out of it for themselves personally. We want to arouse emotions, from good mood to anger, but at the same time it can also be melancholic or thoughtful.”

KK’S PRIEST Announce New Album “The Sinner Rides Again” Details, Out September 29th

On the blazing heels of their highly-lauded 2021 debut album, Sermons Of The Sinner – which debuted within the Top 20 on charts in the United States, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland and more – KK’S PRIEST return to sin again with their savage sophomore offering, The Sinner Rides Again, out September 29, 2023 via their new label home, Austrian rock and metal empire Napalm Records.

With The Sinner Rides Again, the powerhouse heavy metal amalgamation of iconic Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Downing (guitar) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals), along with A.J. Mills (guitar), Tony Newton (bass) and Sean Elg (drums), double down on the ripping melodic force of their debut – which Metal Hammer UK dubbed “hugely enjoyable” and Metal Injection cited as boasting “catchy hooks and plenty of guitar wizardry”. The Sinner Rides Again wields nine tracks of pure hellfire, produced and written by Downing and mixed/mastered by Jacob Hansen.

Today, fans can experience an early taste of The Sinner Rides Again via the blistering first single “One More Shot At Glory”. The track evokes a high-stakes battle with heroic chants and double bass, setting the stage for a spine-tingling guitar solo! The track is accompanied by an intense, high quality music video.

K.K. Downing says about The Sinner Rides Again:
“To continue the legacy of the traditional rock and metal that I have been so fortunate to be a part of for over 50 years, this latest album, The Sinner Rides Again, has been created to take the listener on a journey that is both real and fictional with its characters, although sometimes ambiguous. These songs allow the imaginations of all fans of this wonderful genre of music to escape reality and join with us to continue our heavy metal experience into the future.”

Watch below the music video for “One More Shot At Glory”.

Downing adds regarding the band’s signing with Napalm Records:
“With a brand new record that needed placement with a great record label, we discussed the labels we liked, and Napalm Records was one of those companies. It’s fair to say that Napalm is a leader in the heavy metal genre and has been for a long time now. They have a fantastic roster of both established and new bands and artists that are a force to be reckoned with. So it’s a roster of some of the top and leading metal bands in the world today, and for the foreseeable future. I am pleased to say that we are excited about partnering with Napalm Records and we look forward to working together.”

Sebastian Muench, Senior A&R, Napalm Records adds:
“K.K. Downing has created, with the sophomore album The Sinner Rides Again, an absolutely brilliant heavy metal masterpiece – one, I believe, that will stand the test of time and will be listened to by metal fans around the world for many, many years. K.K. Downing is a genius and Tim “Ripper” Owens’ vocals are simply mesmerizing! Napalm Records is absolutely proud to help continue to build this legacy.”

After stepping out of the Judas Priest spotlight, the return of K.K. Downing was uncertain. Nearly ten years after its onset, the genre-defining guitar icon returned from his hiatus with proof that he was nowhere ready to cease writing classic metal songs or to put away his famous Flying V guitars – taking part in acclaimed international comeback performances (including with his former Judas Priest bandmates when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022) that would act as harbingers of the formation of KK’S PRIEST.

Downing was recently quoted saying, “We’ve lost a lot of great people – Dio, Lemmy, for example – but this amazing and unique style of music must be preserved for as long as possible and I feel it within me to continue to play my role, as I always have, and to defend this metal genre, which we all know and love.”The Sinner Rides Again is a testament to this call for the classics while speeding full force into the future, delivered by some of heavy metal’s most essential performers.

The immense and intricate art for The Sinner Rides Again was created by talented artist Andy Pilkington.

Pre-Order The Sinner Rides Again HERE

A haunting introduction of dual guitars carries the listener into the thundering “Sons Of The Sentinel”, winding across a wasteland of burning riffs and a deftly dynamic guitar solo to kick off the record with relentless energy! The undeniably catchy anthem “Strike Of The Viper” proves itself as one of the album’s most unforgettable tracks, before “Reap The Whirlwind” crashes in with a classic heavy metal power thrust of soaring leads, hair-raising harmonics and earworm vocal hooks. First single “One More Shot At Glory” raises its sword high, instantaneously calling for battle with its opening riff and beckoning verses. Heroic chants and unrelenting double bass set the stage for a galloping midsection as a spine-tingling guitar solo commands the song. Striding “Hymn 66” commands with sultry, slow and low metallic punches and a bluesy gait, while massive title track “The Sinner Rides Again” straddles balladic passages and sinister, head-bobbing choruses. Beginning with ominous bells, “Keeper Of The Graves” rounds the final bend of the album with roaring cascades and a dynamic performance from Owens, before charging “Pledge Your Souls” and rollercoaster closer epic “Wash Away Your Sins” rise as the final embers of a certified burner – proving itself as a must-hear metal album of the year by the greatest to ever perform the genre!

ASINHELL – Ft. Michael Poulsen, Marc Grewe & Morten Toft Hansen – Release Debut Album on September 29th, Share ‘Fall Of The Loyal Warrior’ Lyric Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 30, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: ASINHELL. Leave a comment

For more than 20 years, vocalist/guitarist Michael Poulsen has been spearheading Danish rock and roll machine Volbeat, releasing eight full-lengths, selling millions of albums, and filling stadiums worldwide. Before fronting Volbeat, however, Poulsen formed death metal band Dominus, which recorded four fast, brutal albums in the mid ’90s. When Poulsen was putting together songs for Volbeat‘s 2021 album, Servant Of The Mind, he wrote a bunch of death metal riffs and saved them on his phone. Then, when he was done with the Volbeat record, he reopened the rusty gates to Armageddon and started putting together songs for his new death metal band ASINHELL, whose debut album Impii Hora (Latin for Ungodly Hour), is a tribute to Poulsen’s favourite old-school groups. The songs are rooted in crushing riffs yet injected with strong guitar hooks and shout-along refrains.

Impii Hora will be released September 29th via Metal Blade. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the lyric video for “Fall Of The Loyal Warrior.” Watch it here.

“We’re very excited to share the first taste of Asinhell with ‘Fall Of The Loyal Warrior,’” says Poulsen. “The song is kind of a tribute to bands I love, like Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Autopsy, Grave, and Darkthrone. They’re the reason why we can do this in the first place, and we’re proud to wear our influences on our sleeve. The album was inspired by late ’80s and early ’90s old school death metal, and one of our brightest points of inspiration was the mighty Death, fronted by the legendary Chuck Schuldiner. There’s a lot of Death in there. Schuldiner is one of my favorite death metal vocalists, the other being our vocalist Marc [Grewe]. So to me, this song is the combination of two of my favorites. ‘Let the metal flow,’ as Chuck would have said!“

While Poulsen sings in Volbeat and sang for Dominus, he didn’t want to front Asinhell. So, in March 2022, he called his old friend, ex-Morgoth singer Marc Grewe (Insidious Disease) and invited him to join the party. “I had known Michael quite a long time and he always mentioned that we should do a death metal project one day, but I never took him too seriously because he was so busy with Volbeat,” Grewe says. “Then he called for real and said, ‘Yeah, I want to do it now. Are you up for it?’ Immediately, I was ‘Yes, of course!’“

After considering drummer friends from established bands, Poulsen asked Morten Toft Hansen from Danish group Raunchy to join. Not only does Morten play like a fiend possessed, his and Poulsen’s six-year-old daughters are good friends… and, it takes just 10 minutes to drive to Morten’s place. The two veteran musicians started practicing and completed a full song almost every time they got together. Grewe was tied up at home in Germany when it came time to write the vocals, so Poulsen sent the singer phone recordings from rehearsals to start the process. Through Poulsen and Toft Hansen’s years of experience and renewed hunger to destroy, they captured a firestorm in a bottle.

Asinhell went from being a mere idea to recording the piledriving full-length Impii Hora in about a year. Poulsen asked Volbeat‘s management to help find a home for Asinhell and was thrilled when they mentioned that Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel would love the band. As soon as he heard Impii Hora, Slagel made Asinhell a top priority. “It’s such a dream come true for me to get to be on fucking Metal Blade Records,” Poulsen exclaims. “When they said they wanted to put out the album, I felt like I was 17 years old again. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m making a deal with Metal Blade! How cool is that?’ It was like I was finally getting the record deal I dreamed of when I was a teenager.“

IMPII HORA TRACK LISTING:
01. Fall of the Loyal Warrior
02. Inner Sancticide
03. Island of Dead Men
04. Trophies
05. The Ultimate Sin
06. Wolfpack Laws
07. Desert of Doom
08. Pyromantic Scryer
09. Impii Hora
10. Føj for Helvede

Today, INGESTED have shared the video for “You’ll Never Learn” that was filmed at Bloodstock 2022 and Download Fest 2023 by Loki Films. Watch it here.

The band comments; “You’ll Never Learn is about the people you keep around in your life that continue to make the same mistakes without making a change. Chances and patience runs out, people will only stick by you for so long. Keep those true to you close, and drop that dead weight.

We shot this video across our two performances at the UK festivals Bloodstock and Download, and Loki Films managed to capture the utter chaos that ensued. Crack open a tinnie, roll a joint, bang your head or do whatever you do and enjoy the carnage of YOU’LL NEVER LEARN.

Along with our brand new video, we are supremely buzzing to announce that we will be washing Europe and the UK in oceans of blood with our dear friends Lorna Shore, Rivers Of Nihil and Distant this autumn! We can’t wait to get back out on the road and do what we do best, laying waste to every city that we touch!

ABOUT INGESTED:
Ingested are the flagbearers of modern UK death metal. They have been churning out bilious anti-anthems for more than a decade-and-a-half, dropping a string of releases that have helped shape the genre. They return with Ashes Lie Still, their most dynamic, inventive, and daring release to date, holding nothing back. The band describes it as “a modern essential. It still has the core Ingested elements of groovy slamming riffs, quick drumming, and guttural vocals but there’s also atmosphere, ethereal moments, and some raw old school aggression.” Over the course of 10 tracks, Ingested hack, slash, and steamroll through everything in their path, and Ashes Lie Still easily stands as the highpoint of an already impressive career. Founded in 2006 in Manchester, England, Ingested have since toured extensively with Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, Carnifex, and Revocation, and have been seen on European festival stages including Summer Breeze Open Air. Slimmed down to a three-piece, the band feels it is in the best place it ever has been, enabling the members to work at the top of their game.

Ashes Lie Still was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson. It was co-produced by the band and previous collaborator Nico Beninato, with drummer Lyn Jeffs living close to Beninato’s studio in Mallorca and recording his drums there, while Sean Hynes recorded his guitars at home in the UK with the producer assisting remotely. Vocal tracking was interrupted by Jason Evans falling seriously ill when finally making it to Mallorca and was ultimately tracked back in Manchester. Bass was again supplied by Dominic Grimard (Ion Dissonance/The Last Felony).

Ingested succinctly encapsulate their existence, saying, “We’ve always been the underdogs, always fighting for scraps. Well, it’s time to get out of the fucking way, because now it’s our turn to eat at the table.“

You’ve. Been. Warned.
