ROSETTA STONE Are Executing Nostalgia with Upcoming Album, First Video Single ‘Shadowban’ Out Today

We live in turbulent times today, but few bands offer a more effective  soundtrack than Rosetta Stone, to the hours we spend not doom scrolling our phones.

Yes, their name and reputation might be firmly preserved in the amber glow of the gothic movement, but with every new album or single release, Stone mainman Porl King delivers both the music and the lyrics that can, for as long as you listen, remind you that there’s a lot more to life than the online headlines are willing to admit.

Rosetta Stone’s first album since 2025’s acclaimed Dose Makes The Poison, Executing Nostalgia, is released on September 25 on CD and startling starburst vinyl. Ahead of that, however, the driving, near-Motorik pulse of “Shadowban” offers an early glimpse into all that is to come, a mantric chant that could go easily have lasted far longer than its 3 minute 40 lifespan, but is no less effective for its brevity.

Of course, King is an old hand at elevating his audience out of the daily grind.  It is 35 years since Rosetta Stone initially arose from the seething miasma of the gothic renaissance, and seven since a recalibrated reformation delivered Seems Like Forever – one of the last truly great albums to hit the pre-lockdown world.

Since that time, Rosetta Stone have been nothing if not prolific – even as King oversees a gorgeously curated series of reissues and rarities collections, this is the band’s fourth new album in little over two years, a poised and perfect successor to Under The Weather (2024), the covers collection Nothing Is Sacred (2025) and the aforementioned Dose Makes The Poison.

As for the album’s foreboding title, Executing Nostalgia is surely just another way of reminding us that the future still holds as much promise as the past now appears to – and all we need do is steer our way towards it.

Because, although there is nostalgia aplenty to be drawn from the album, it is twisted around King’s devastatingly fresh interpretations of some of the gothic movement’s most cherished oldies – “Moya” (Southern Death Cult), “Pagan Love Song” (the Virgin Prunes), “Talk About The Weather” (Magazine) and more.

The result is a collection that not only delves deep into your consciousness, but also reawakens it, a vibrant minor key clarion call to cut through the endless discordant saxophone solo that so much of modern life now resembles.

And with that in mind, let’s all go execute some nostalgia. And then realign it in a way that makes sense.

JOE STUMP Announces New Solo Album “Lord Of The Strings”, New Single/Video ‘Full Throttle’ Out Now

The Professor of Shred Joe Stump returns with the pedal firmly to the metal on his new solo album, Lord of the Strings, set for release on October 16th via Silver Lining Music. Pre-orders available from 18th August at this location.

The first single taken from Lord of the Strings, aptly titled ‘Full Throttle’, kicks off the album in blistering style. An unfiltered blast of riff-driven firepower and shreddery, the track sets the tone for what’s to come, delivering a relentless introduction to the electrifying virtuosity that runs throughout the record.

PRE-ORDER HERE

“‘Full Throttle’ is a high-velocity track incorporating all the elements you’d expect to hear from me on one of my solo records,” Joe Stump affirms. “Fierce Metal riffage combined with strong classically influenced melodies and of course the usual absurd amount of highly technical blazing shred guitar pyrotechnics. All of it is executed with a modern-day Ritchie Blackmore badass rock attitude. If you’re a guitar enthusiast or a metal fan, there’s certainly plenty of action on this one!”

Stump doesn’t just lay down the speed as he does in ‘Full Throttle’ or revisit the classic grounds of traditional melodic heavy metal on tracks such as ‘Playing with Fire’, on this 12-track instrumental opus, Stump takes the guitar into lyrical territory with the likes of ‘In the Hall of the King’ and ‘Eternity of Darkness’ with his supremely detailed licks taking the lead narrative role. Stump also exercises moments of poetic acoustic reflection on ‘Den of Vipers’ and ‘Leipzig 1722’, but overall, Lord of the Strings is a belting, relentless beast, and (as the man himself says) ‘a heavy metal guitar orgy’.

If you crave screaming guitars of Valhallic proportions, this one is for you. Stump is a guitarist that likes his riffs to roar and his leads to flash like lightning. Stump delivers every track with extraordinary power, precision and purpose, pushing the guitar to its limits while never holding back. From searing riffs to jaw-dropping shred, Lord of the Strings is designed to hit hard, hit fast and leave its mark. This is guitar playing at full force and you won’t want to miss it.

Lord of the Strings will be released on standard CD digipak, special edition CD digipak, digital download, streaming and special D2C bundles. Available to pre-order from August 18 at this location.

AXTY Unleash New Single & Official Music Video ‘All I Love’

This Friday, Brazilian deathcore rising stars AXTY will unleash their incendiary Napalm Records debut album, The Pain Made Me Who I Am. Today, they give fans the final preview with the pummeling “all I love”. Wielding both clave and breakdowns like a warhammer, AXTY effectively pummels listeners into a pulp, rewarding survivors with sweetly triumphant chorus hooks. Ready for the dance floor and crowdkillers, AXTY connects brutally with every swing of the hammer.

Frontman Felipe Hervoso on “all I love”:
“‘all I love’ is a song about being consumed by the fear of failing at the one thing you’ve dedicated your life to.

It explores the highs and lows of being a small artist in the music industry, the constant pressure to stay relevant, keep growing, and prove yourself over and over again.

Over time, that pressure can turn something you once loved and saved you into something that fills you with self-doubt, anxiety, and the feeling that you’ll never be able to live off your dreams.”

With their new album, AXTY explores universal lyrical themes of self-evolution through harnessing pain and resilience born from adversity, transforming negative experiences into fuel for growth. Moments of barbarism and serenity all tied together with infectious grooves, pristine production, and an unwavering dedication to brutality.  Throughout its 12 tracks, The Pain Made Me Who I Am proves AXTY as a visionary force to watch in the ever-expanding modern metalcore scene – inarguably poised for star status as they climb the ranks.

AXTY about The Pain Made Me Who I Am:
“The Pain Made Me Who I Am revolves around human emotions, particularly the darker, more difficult ones. However, rather than dwelling on suffering, we focused on the role these emotions play in personal growth and self-evolution. Resilience born from adversity, the idea that growth and self-discovery are deeply rooted in struggle, we wanted to explore how negative experiences, rather than defining us in a limiting way, become the very foundation of who we are.”

Get Your Copy Of The Pain Made Me Who I Am NOW

The Pain Made Me Who I Am delivers the goods from note one as earth-shattering intro track “pain made me” pulls out all of the stops – crashing in with dense down-tuned guitar chugs beneath hip-hop charged samples. Anthemic “who I am” showcases the band’s seamless, genre-pushing blend with intense polyrhythmic deathcore passages and soaring metalcore melodies, while tracks like “all I love” incite pure metallic violence with the band’s erratic trademark guitar acrobatics, hypnotic drum patterns and addictive vocals – both crushing and clean – showcasing the broad talents of frontman Felipe Hervoso, drummer Gabriel Vacari and guitarist Jonathas Peschiera. Particularly, Hervoso’ keen ability to dramatically tilt his vocal approach from crooning cleans to virtually superhuman screams, growls and squeals will have his name on the lips of deathcore vocal enthusiasts in no time. Songs like “nothing but pain” inject heavy doses of the futuristic metalcore fusion AXTY has become lauded for, while album standouts like first single/album closer “end this” weave alternative and even nu-metal flavor into the album’s addictive mix.

Hard rock veterans Spread Eagle unleash today their new single and official music video, a powerful cover of UFO’s “Pushed To The Limit”. The track is featured on their brand new studio album, “The Brutal Divine”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Spread Eagle are currently on the road on “The Brutal Divine Tour 2026”, with dates across the US, and in UK and Europe throughout the summer. For the full list of dates, please see below and HERE.

Rob De Luca commented: “I was proud to play in UFO for 16 years and one of my favorite songs to play live was ‘Pushed To The Limit’. Years later, Ray West suggested we add it to Spread Eagle’s live set. That Michael Schenker guitar riff sounds SO nasty, it was a perfect fit for ’The Brutal Divine’!”

Order “The Brutal Divine” HERE

“The Brutal Divine” is Spread Eagle’s long-awaited fourth studio album and a fierce new chapter in the band’s uncompromising legacy. Known for their raw energy, streetwise attitude, and explosive live performances, they once again prove why they remain a vital force in modern hard rock.

The band described the new record as “an emotionally and musically heavy body of songs showcasing a unique command of power, dynamics and melody. We have harnessed the energy of years of non-stop touring and turned it into a metal/punk thrill ride of an album”.

“Lyrically, “The Brutal Divine” challenges us to question our views and ask if we’re truly as free thinking as we may believe. Once that question is posed, the album progresses towards uplifting messages of hope and community”, they continued.

Fronted by the unmistakable voice of Ray West, the band delivers a powerful collection of songs that balance grit and melody, aggression and soul. Guitarist Gianmaria “Jommy” Puledda injects the record with razor-sharp riffs and soaring harmonies, while Rob De Luca (bass, vocals) and Rik De Luca (drums) form a thunderous rhythmic backbone that drives every track with authority and groove.

Produced by Rob De Luca, “The Brutal Divine” captures the band at their most focused and dynamic – blending their classic hard rock roots with a darker, heavier edge. The album channels the intensity and authenticity that first put Spread Eagle on the map, while showcasing a band that continues to evolve without losing its identity.

With a full slate of live dates planned in support of the release, Spread Eagle are ready to bring “The Brutal Divine” to stages around the world – where their music truly comes alive. This is hard rock delivered with conviction, attitude, and fire.

DOMKRAFT Reveal Music Video ‘Void Runner’ & Details of Forthcoming New Album “Night Songs”

DOMKRAFT present the first advance single, ‘Void Runner‘, taken from their forthcoming new full-length “Night Songs“. The fifth album from the heavy psychedelic rockers from Sweden is slated for release on November 20, 2026, via Magnetic Eye Records.

The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION.

DOMKRAFT comment: “You know the feeling when you think that from here on things can only get better?“, vocalist and bass player Martin Wegeland asks rhetorically. “The idea that you’ve finally reached rock bottom? Well, the state of the world always proves you wrong. This song is basically saying: ‘give us your best shot, fuckers!’ At this stage, we are prepared for almost everything. We are done believing and have fully switched to brace yourself mode. Yet, this song is definitely not about resigning or giving up. In fact, it rather deals with amassing enough power to cope without cracking, and possibly even dance while doing so.“

Tracklist
1. Unnamed
2. Lights On
3. Aurora
4. Void Runner
5. Eclipse (Outlast the Night)
6. Dead Rocket
7. Tunnels

Personal experience of any kind has always inspired artists. It is therefore hardly surprising that the traumatic medical crisis which DOMKRAFT guitarist Martin Widholm faced in 2025 has found an echo on the Swedes’ fifth album “Night Songs”. Although his band mates didn’t have to undergo several complicated surgeries as he did, they were of course also affected as bystanders in less threatening but nonetheless meaningful ways.

Their collective outlook on life and what is truly important shifted during this period of terror. When the band started working on new songs during Widholm’s long phase of recovery, many contradictory feelings surfaced in both the music and the lyrics. From fear bordering on panic, the pendulum swung to cautious relief. And through sadness and joy, hope and despair, they went all the way to finally arrive at the humbling realisation that they were still able to do what they dearly love: creating music.

The album title, “Night Songs”, partly stems from the Swedes’ experiences during the past year, but also crosses into the broad idea of darkness versus light. This can mean personal hardships, the present state of the world, or the concept of actual night itself. The night may turn into a time of regret, solitude and insomnia but also into the opposite, as a calm phase of relief, relaxation, and even debauchery. All of this happens at night. And just maybe, these “Night Songs” could foremost deal with resilience.

Nordic trio DOMKRAFT have always been true to their musical course, but also grew audibly in maturity with each new release, honing their considerable songwriting skills on each outing. Gradually and through determination and small tweaks and nuances, their stylistic range shifted from towering doom anthems towards heavy rock with psychedelic influences.

DOMKRAFT sprung into being when singer and bass player Martin Wegeland, guitarist Martin Widholm, and drummer Anders Dahlgren realised that they had firmly bonded over a mutual love of bands such as SPACEMEN 3, MONSTER MAGNET, SLEEP, and HAWKWIND.

DOMKRAFT‘s monolithic 2016 debut album, “The End of Electricity”, drew equally from the heaviness, psychedelia, and hypnotic minimalism of their influences. Building on this foundation and with a curious lust for experimentation, the trio explored different sonic angles and musical avenues while building an ever-growing audience and continued critical acclaim with each following release: “Flood” (2018), “Seeds” (2021), and “Sonic Moons” (2023).

DOMKRAFT furthermore established an excellent reputation as a considerable live force and audience magnet on both sides of the Atlantic. The trio performed at such prestigious festivals as four Desertfests (BE, DE, UK & US), Psycho Las Vegas (US), Blow Up (FI), Sonic Whip (NL), Høstsabbat (NO) ArcTanGent (UK), and many more.

“Night Songs” was recorded at the renowned Studio Gröndahl in Stockholm by David Castillo (OPETH, CANDLEMASS, KATATONIA et al.). Karl Daniel Lidén (GREENLEAF, LOWRIDER, BREACH) was asked to maintain DOMKRAFT‘s sonic identity by again mixing and mastering the album.

“Night Songs” should be enjoyed like a feverish, dream-like cocktail that is expertly mixed from equal parts deafening quiet and soothing loud noises, then sprinkled with insomnia, relief, contemplation, and a dash of red-hot anger for raw spice.

STORMBRINGER to Release New Studio Album “Transcendence” on September 4th

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 18, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: STORMBRINGER. Leave a comment

Northamptonshire rock band Stormbringer are back with a bang with their storming new album ‘Transcendence’, out on 4th September on Attic Records.

Preorder the album here: https://linktr.ee/stormbringer and https://orcd.co/att015s02

Blending a mix of classic rock and heavy metal with a contemporary edge that sets them apart, the band have released 4 albums, played numerous shows and festivals, including both Download and main stage at Bloodstock and are now raising the bar with their fifth and most powerful album yet.

Following the journey of their previous albums, Stormbringer continue to evolve with ‘Transcendence’ – a record that explores adversity, resilience, self-acceptance and the complex relationship between personal struggles and the world around us.

Musically, the album represents a further evolution of the band’s signature sound, combining crushing riffs, powerful melodies and emotionally charged performances. Stormbringer continue to embrace their heavy rock foundations while pushing their songwriting into new and more expansive territory.

“Every album captures a moment in time,” explains vocalist Mike Stockley. “Transcendence is about growth through adversity. It’s about recognising and accepting the darkness without allowing it to define you. The album confronts life’s struggles on both a personal and societal level, exploring the challenges we face as individuals while also reflecting on the world around us. These songs aren’t about offering easy answers – they’re about questioning, understanding and ultimately finding the strength to move forward.”

Produced by legendary producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, At the Gates, The Wildhearts, The Exploited, Evile, The Haunted, New Model Army, Eradikator, Evil Scarecrow, Raging Speedhorn) and recorded at Parlour Studios in Kettering, Northamptonshire, Stormbringer return with their most ambitious and emotionally profound release to date.

A Journey Through Stormbringer’s Evolution
‘Transcendence’ represents a return to the foundations of Stormbringer’s identity, drawing inspiration from the themes and emotional honesty established on the band’s debut album MMXIII, while continuing the evolution of perspective explored on their fourth album AIIV. Where MMXIII was rooted in deeply personal reflection, exploring vocalist Mike Stockley’s own internal struggles, experiences and emotional battles, it represented the beginning of Stormbringer’s journey – a raw and honest exploration of the self.

By contrast, AIIV marked a shift in focus, looking beyond the individual to examine the wider world and the challenges faced by society. Its themes explored external struggles, social division, modern culture and the forces that shape the world around us. ‘Transcendence’ brings these two perspectives together. It explores both the internal and external battles we face—the conflicts within ourselves alongside the challenges created by the world around us.

The album embraces the concept of the shadow self – recognising that personal growth does not come from rejecting the darker aspects of who we are, but from understanding and accepting them. It explores the fears, flaws, experiences and emotions that shape us, while acknowledging that our personal struggles exist within a wider human experience.

‘Transcendence’ is the meeting point between looking inward and looking outward. It is about self-acceptance, awareness and growth – a reflection of where Stormbringer have been, where they are now, and where they are heading next.
