Their previous album “The Fallen” was released in January 2024 on their new label Fireflash Records (WOLF, HOLY MOSES, MEZZROW a.o.), followed by a European tour as support act for their fellow believers JAG PANZER, cementing their reputation as a magnificent live band.

RUTHLESS upcoming new album “Curse Of The Beast” will be released on July 17th.

Today, RUTHLESS are proud to release the second single, along with a lyric video for the track

Japanese Horror Inspired USBM Outfit SAIDAN Unleash New Single ‘Immersed by Eternity’s Blade’

Japanese horror-inspired USBM outfit SAIDAN will be releasing its highly anticipated fourth LP, ‘FANGDRILLER: Scars Beneath Memory’s Wrist,’ on June 19 via Avantgarde Music! The band is now unveiling the cinematic new single, “Immersed by Eternity’s Blade” along with a music video, which can be found at THIS LOCATION.

A prequel to 2023’s ‘Visual Kill,’ ‘FANGDRILLER’ follows The Student (Junko) as she tries to heal her fractured heart. Haunted by wistful solitude, her isolation makes her the perfect victim for a mysterious cult known as Ethereal Blood.

SAIDAN vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Splatterpvnk comments, “Many of the songs on this album offer glimpses into where I was emotionally over the past year. ‘Immersed by Eternity’s Blade’ is unique in that there’s no metaphor to masquerade my heart. I yearned for a future where the anguish of the present would fade into a distant memory, leaving only the moments of happiness behind.

“This song was, and continues to be, a source of healing for me. I hope that anyone carrying their own sorrow can find some measure of comfort in this song and in the album as a whole.”

While lyrically dealing with topics of depression, heartbreak, loss, and loneliness, the album is musically inspired by the lo-fi nature of classic Visual Kei and gothic black metal. Saidan strives to deliver an album that sounds nostalgic for an era of music that doesn’t exist. Blistering solos, deranged vocals, anthemic-riffage, and diabolical drumming are slammed together with doses of modern breakcore and wrapped in a black metal bow, garnering a feeling of familiarity while offering something that’s boldly unique.

Pre-orders can be found HERE.

Moreover, SAIDAN will be embarking on a U.S. tour in support of prolific atmospheric black metal band Trhä along with Barbelith. The trek will kick off on July 23 in Indianapolis, IN and will lay waste through the East Coast and parts of the midwest until the final stop on August 8 in Charlotte, NC. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

In the neverending quest of supporting young and boundary-pushing bands from the underground around the world, Avantgarde Music is proud to announce their collaboration with Saidan, a Japanese horror-themed black metal band from Nashville, TN.

Spawning from tragedy in 2020, Saidan rapidly released a string of demos and splits that caused a stir in the underground Black Metal scene. With their anthem-like riffage, violent imagery, deranged vocal delivery, and heavy metal flair, Saidan has risen above their contemporaries and stood out in a bustling USBM scene. In five short years, Saidan has gone on to release three LPs: ‘Jigoku: Spiraling Chasms of the Blackest Hell’ (2021), ‘Onryō II: Her Spirit Eternal’ (2022), and ‘Visual Kill: The Blossoming of Psychotic Depravity’ (2024), all to critical success. The band’s latest offering, ‘FANGDRILLER: Scars Beneath Memory’s Wrist,’ will be arriving on June 19, 2026 exclusively through Avantgarde Music.

‘Fangdriller’ is the fourth studio album born from the minds of multi-instrumentalist Splatterpvnk and drummer Hundosai, a new chapter in the narrative concept that links together all Saidan releases.

‘Fangdriller’ was mixed and mastered by Splatterpvnk and once again comes with a cover art by Japanese visual artist Seiyak17.

HEAVENWOOD’s New Album “The Tarot Of The Bohemians” Out Now

A whole decade after their last album, Portuguese gothic/dark metal pioneers HEAVENWOOD announce the release of their highly-anticipated new record, “The Tarot Of The Bohemians – Part II”, set for worldwide release via Mighty Music on LP, CD and digital formats. Marking the second and final chapter of the conceptual work inspired by the hermetic writings of Gérard Encausse (Papus), the album was recorded at Lucky Cat Studio (Portugal) and mixed and mastered at Vamacara Studios (France) by acclaimed producer Niko HK Krauss (Loudblast, Sirenia), elevating the band’s sound to new levels of sophistication and intensity.

“Every work has its own story, and this new album goes far beyond being merely a concept and a continuation of the first part released in 2016“, composer, founder, guitarist and singer Ricardo Dias dos Santos comments. “Against all odds that arose in 2022 – after a near-fatal accident and imperative changes that led to a number of irreversible decisions – the conclusion of “The Tarot Of The Bohemians” finally sees the light of day, continuing a legacy that has endured for more than 30 years”.

The album is further enhanced by impeccable and symbolic visual artwork created by renowned artist Naya Kotko, whose evocative imagery perfectly reflects the esoteric depth and spiritual duality that define this new chapter.

With this “Part II” of the concept started with “The Tarot Of The Bohemians” (Massacre Records) in 2016, Heavenwood dive even deeper into the esoteric and emotional dimensions of the Tarot. This album represents both continuity and transformation – it carries Heavenwood melancholic DNA, but it also pushes the band into a more cinematic, intense and contemporary sonic realm.

“The Tarot Of The Bohemians – Part II” signals a bold new creative chapter for Ricardo Dias dos Santos. The first glimpse into this renewed cycle came with the digital single “Death”, which laid the conceptual and atmospheric foundations for the new opus.

With a career spanning over three decades, Heavenwood have long stood as one of Portugal’s most respected Metal exports. Since their seminal debut “Diva” (1996, Massacre Records) – the first album by a Portuguese Metal band to be released in Japan – the band has shared stages with international heavyweights such as Cradle of Filth, In Flames, Amorphis and Portugal’s own Moonspell, while also performing at prestigious events including Wacken Open Air.

Throughout their evolution – from “Swallow” (1998) to “Redemption” (2008) and “Abyss Masterpiece” (2011) – Heavenwood have continuously refined their signature blend of gothic atmosphere, dark metal weight and introspective lyricism. Now, under the visionary leadership of Ricardo Dias dos Santos, the band closes the 22 Major Arcana Tarot cycle with what promises to be their most ambitious and emotionally resonant work to date.

“The Tarot Of The Bohemians – Part II” will be released on black LP, blue LP (limited to 300), CD and digital formats on 12.06.2026, via Mighty Music.

Scream Rock Fest 2026 – Interview with Ligurian Indi Rockers NOMOREMARIO

Interview & Stage Photo by Steve Foglia

Two-day Scream Rock Fest 2026 took Italy’s City of Flowers, Sanremo by Storm at the end of May, with pure energy dedicated to the best independent and historic bands from the Ligurian and national music scene.

The event’s organizer Steve Foglia conducted an interview with Ligurian indi rockers NOMOREMARIO (formed in 2008), join the chat below.

Eighteen years together, starting from Ventimiglia. In an era of disposable pop projects born on social media, you are a true “band of brothers” formed back in 2008. What is the secret to keeping this chemistry and hunger intact after nearly twenty years?

There is no secret, just a great harmony among us—a balance that is also built on our shared passion for music.

Your sound has been described as “a glass of honey and adrenaline.” Translating this combination into music means making disruptive volumes and extremely delicate melodies coexist. How do you manage, both in the studio and on stage, to keep these two opposite worlds from imploding?

That definition was given to us by a music-loving friend, and we liked it because, in just a few words, it captures the essence of what we do unconsciously. We are driven on one hand by the urge to make some noise, and on the other by the desire to tell gentle stories. Jokingly, we say our formula is “Violence & Love.”

Let’s talk about contrasts. Is there a specific track in your repertoire where you feel this formula—noise pushed to the limit combined with a dreamlike touch—has reached its purest form?

We have many tracks like that, scattered across all our releases. In particular, there’s a really powerful one from 10 years ago called Moon in the Circle, and then there’s Midnight, the last song on the new album, which starts out incredibly gentle and then runs wild.

Your motto is an absolute manifesto: “We Are Dreamers.” In today’s cynical and ultra realistic world, what does it mean to be “dreamers” while strapping on distorted guitars? Is it an act of escape or rebellion?

First and foremost, it’s freedom—an escape from boredom, heavy duties, pedantic people, and suffocating power dynamics. However, this “escape from Alcatraz” of ours is also a gesture of rebellion, just as rock ‘n’ roll has often been since its very beginning.

There is an irresistible innocence in your approach to rock. Alternative rock is often associated with anger or darkness, whereas you seem to preserve an almost childlike purity. Is this a conscious choice, or is it simply your natural way of being?

Thank you for that spot-on observation; it is almost certainly a natural way of being. Even though our musical tastes lean in that direction, we don’t like clichés, and we don’t like locking ourselves into a musical genre that is too defined and codified in its content.

Liguria, and specifically the Ventimiglia area, has a strong aesthetic: the sea, the border, the rugged landscapes. How has this borderland influenced your “dreamlike” sound and your urgency to express yourselves?

That’s a great question, even for us. Perhaps the music we play is more connected to distant horizons, at least as a reference point. Our landscape and climate would typically suggest something much more sunny and lighthearted. On top of that, there’s that provincial boredom—being at the edge of the kingdom—which puts us in a state of musical isolation. And yet, there must be something of our land in there, probably more in the substance than in the language itself.

You have been a backbone of the local rock scene for years. How have you seen the audience and the underground clubs change from 2008 to today? Is there still room for those who want to make the amplifiers screech?

Yes, the change is remarkable. Everything moves way too fast; there’s an overabundance of releases leading to devaluation, a very short attention span, overly advanced production technologies, and all those social media, promotion, and image hassles we all know about. What truly always holds value is THE LIVE SHOW. When that beautiful thing happens—where we make something alive all together and create that shared empathy—it remains the most magical and essential aspect.

If we were to peek into your personal playlists or the back of your tour van, what are the three definitive albums that unite you and have shaped the DNA of NOMOREMARIO?

Each of us has specific and constantly evolving preferences, but we can tell you 3 old songs that might even end up in our setlists: Add It Up by the Violent Femmes, Just Like Heaven in the Dinosaur Jr. version, and Hit the City by Mark Lanegan.

In your tracks, introspective melodies run deep. When you write, does the music start as an acoustic whisper that is later overwhelmed by noise, or is it the electric chaos that inspires the lyrics?

We don’t have a fixed writing formula or method. There’s a lot of randomness, chaos, and hard work in the rehearsal room.

Let’s close by looking ahead. With a solid history behind you and the same passion intact in your veins, what is the next wall of sound that NOMOREMARIO intends to break down?

Beautiful question! The dream is always the same: that dark stage loaded with watts, ready to explode. The silence before the storm, the sound inside the thunder

Two decades into their existence, ELDER remain an anomaly in the heavy underground – a rare band with the ability to absorb and shed influences from a myriad of genres without falling into pastiche or losing their own identity. Their new studio offering, Through Zero, stands as a strong reaffirmation of their commitment to pushing boundaries in the world of heavy rock and cements the group’s status as leaders of the pack in heavy psychedelic rock.

Over the past twenty years, ELDER have mastered crushing riffs, melodic jaunts, progressive patterns, hypnotic grooves and ethereal atmosphere. On Through Zero, the band channel these years of experience into what may be their most immediate and engaging record to date, while allowing seeds from outside the sphere of rock music to take root and bloom within their progressive framework. Listeners will find familiar elements of new textures, sequences, and sounds alongside ELDER’s iconic take on heavy rock. As always, every spin reveals new details.

Recorded at Big Snuff Studios in Berlin across several months between tours in 2025, Through Zero marks the first album the band not only produced themselves, but also co-mixed together with longtime collaborator Richard Behrens. Mastered by Carl Saff, the result is a record that feels more like a full extension of the band’s creative intentions than ever before.

Through Zero is out now on Stickman Records (Europe/UK), Blues Funeral Recordings (North America), and Bird’s Robe (Australia).

THE CHRONICLES OF MANIMAL AND SAMARA have unleashed their fourth studio album, MISANTROPI, now available worldwide. The album’s launch is accompanied by the official music video for the lead track, “Misantropia”, a raw and cathartic anthem fuelled by misanthropic rage. Known for their visceral blend of spoken poetry and metal, London duo Daphne Ang and Andrea Papi deliver a powerful and unfiltered manifesto for those who despise humanity. The album can be purchased on 12” Vinyl at tcomas.com/misantropi.

The duo describes their album succinctly:

“For humans who hate people.”

“MISANTROPI is human made,” the band elaborates. “It’s played with real instruments, with hands, feet, vocal cords, and human body parts. It’s raw, it’s unfiltered. It’s for those who see through the facade and aren’t afraid to admit that they hate what we have become.”

Staying true to their roots, MISANTROPI fuses spoken word and poetry over heavy metal riffs, but with a renewed focus on the classic setup of drums, bass, and guitars. The album also features more singing and melodic vocals, adding a visceral human element to their already intense sound.

Performed, composed and written by Daphne Ang and Andrea Papi of The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara, MISANTROPI was recorded and produced by Andrea Papi at TCOMAS Studio, with mixing and mastering from Marinos Tountas at Ergosphere Studios. The album cover artwork was created by TCOMAS Studio.

Already making waves, the new album was introduced by its explosive first single, ‘Girotondo’ in March 2026, followed by “The Last Plague”, which gained recognition on Apple Music’s editorial playlists ‘Breaking Metal’ and ‘Breaking Hard Rock’. “The Last Plague” also charted in eight countries on Apple Music, reaching #1 on the Metal Liberia chart.

Following the success of their 2024 album Origins, which broke into the UK Top 100 Albums Chart on Apple Music and garnered six singles with playlist placements across major streaming platforms, MISANTROPI continues The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara’s legacy of raw, self-produced music (Full Spectrum, Trust No Leaders, Origins) since their emergence in 2020. Always evolving, their new album reaffirms the duo’s reputation as provocateurs in the heavy music scene, with a sound and message that will continue to captivate and challenge audiences worldwide.

The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara

The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara (TCOMAS) was born in London when Daphne Ang from Singapore and Andrea Papi from Italy joined forces in early 2020. TCOMAS introduced their innovative sound in their first album, Full Spectrum, an eclectic blend of heavy rock and electronic with poetry performance, most notably the single ‘Love in the Time of Pestilence’ which graced several editorial Spotify playlists (Alternative Metal, Progressive Metal). TCOMAS became known for melding heavy music with the elegance of poetry and poignant lyrics on their second album Trust No Leaders, released in July 2022. The record explored the history of metal and its sub-genres, showcasing non-Western musical influences and lyrics inspired by Jungian psychology. All seven singles released from this album entered the Soundcloud charts. The duo returned in 2024 with the release of their third album Originsin November. The albumentered the Apple Music Album Chart Top 100 in the UK. All six singles from this album earned editorial playlist placements on Apple Music and Amazon Music. The single ‘Feed the Beast’, entered the Apple Music Single Charts in Turkey. TCOMAS’s unique approach to combining music and visual storytelling has also garnered attention worldwide. Their self-produced music videos have been screened at numerous prestigious international film festivals around the world, receiving 66 official selections and nominations to date. In 2026, the band are back to release their 4th studio album, MISANTROPI, out now.
