Following their electrifying cover of Billy Idol’s “Shock To The System”, LORD OF THE LOST has unveiled a brand-new official video for their cover of Roxette’s “The Look” – already known from the band’s most successful album to date, Blood & Glitter (2022, #1 German album charts). Now, the song is being re-released on the 2CD special edition – as well as digitally – of the first cover album in the band’s history, Weapons Of Mass Seduction (December 29, 2023).

The energizing cover version and video features none other than German pop singer Blümchen as a duet partner, who has landed numerous top hits and sold millions of records since beginning her career as a teenage star in the 90s. This summer, LORD OF THE LOST once again impressively showcased that they don’t subscribe to any norms and genre boundaries when they performed the song together with Blümchen on the main stage of the legendary Wacken Open Air, following the headlining show of Iron Maiden.

Representing Germany at the ESC finals in May 2023 brought LORD OF THE LOST to the attention of mainstream media across Europe (with features from BILD, The Sun, BBC among others), exposing their artistic universe to much wider audiences, and was one of the main highlights of the band’s most successful year to date. “Covering this song has been on my bucket list since I was a teenager. But it wasn’t possible until now, because I didn’t want just any singer at my side as a duet partner, but someone to whom Roxette means as much as it did to me from the very beginning. And I found this person in Jasmin, Blümchen. Moreover, without Per Gessle’s songwriting, I wouldn’t be the composer I am today. Our cover of ‘The Look’ is my chance to thank him for that.”

Metal is known for inciting mass headbanging. This year, metalheads continued to butt heads over an age-old question: natty or not?

WRATH OF LOGARIUS are plenty mysterious. They come crawling out of the misty California forests with a brutal, blackened and eerily melodic new subgenre: Formless Black Metal. But when it comes to this skeletal trio, the answer to that hard-hitting question is obvious. After all, they’re backed by none other than the legendary Lord Marco. 

The Lord of the Blast lives up to his name on this new drum playthrough. Just watch how his fingers fly across the snare kit like little devils crashing through the gates of hell.

So what exactly is formless black metal? A mountainous slop of human flesh…an amalgamation of ever-changing eyes, fangs and bone. That description is one of the first things you hear on lead single “The Burning One”, and while awfully unsettling, it hits the nail right through the demon’s skull. The song screams across the sky thanks to Noctifer’s malignant vocals, only to plunge into a fiery pit of tremolo picking

“Soul Ascension” is more of a slow burn, shuddering awake with an eerie guitar melody that drips like candles around a coffin. But as you’ve now seen, the pace quickens before bursting into flames under the clip of Lord Marco’s hi-hat.

ARMORED DAWN emerged in 2014 and quickly became dominant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, there were tours and shows alongside great bands like SAXON, MEGADETH, SCORPIONS, WHITESNAKE, EUROPE, HAMMERFALL, RHAPSODY, FATES WARNIND, SABATON and TARJA.

The first two albums, Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by big names Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, JORN), Bruno Agra (WE ARE HARLOT) and Kato Khandwala (THE PRETTY RECKLESS, PAPA RPACH). The third album, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench.

Presenting a sophisticated and versatile metal, the group collects great works in videos, such as “Sail Away”, which had a cinematic overproduction, as well as “Beware of the Dragon”, exhibited in all cinemas in Brazil during the trailers for the film Aquaman in 2018. In turn, “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest Festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played to around 37 thousand people) have millions of views on YouTube.

Over October 2023, the band performed five times in Argentina, and also played at the Mexican festival Hell & Heaven in the beginning of November.

WICKED to Unveil Latest Single + Video for Title Track of “Sunburn” at Upcoming Live Stream

Modern-day melodic/theatrical rockers WICKED are back with the latest single/video from their new album – which turns out to be its title track, ‘Sunburn.’ The band (singer/guitarist Chad Michael, guitarist Scotty V, bassist Danny, and drummer Gunnar) are especially proud of the clip, which captures a 38-hour coast-to-coast drive, with its destination being Joshua Tree, CA. Directed and filmed by Longwood Media Group, the clip also stars actresses Chelsea “Cherry Baby” Anzalone and Kayla Balfe, and can be viewed below.

As the band explains, “The second single off the upcoming sophomore album  ‘Sunburn’ gives the vibe of that saying, ‘too much of a good thing,’ and is accompanied by footage from our cross-country escape to California. We drove 38 hours straight in the band van from coast to coast, facing all the surprises old Route 66 had to offer – from storms to vehicle breakdowns and all the new faces we got to meet. From Cali beaches to the Joshua Tree desert, we brought our rock n’ roll party and burnt the candle at both ends. It was a perfect way to live out the metaphorical meaning of ‘Sunburn’ is a song about excess and its repercussions. Don’t miss what happens to the band in our music video after we invite these rock n’ roll ladies to our desert getaway!” 
 
And musically, Wicked describes “Sunburn” as “A punchy, punishing rocker, with sharpened punk edges and lyrical prowess that could have easily been played at an aggressive Michael Monroe show on the Lower East Side, or on MTV in the 90s by a band like Third Eye Blind. In 2023 it’s born with one purpose and that’s to fly the flag of that unapologetic Rock N Roll lifestyle and be your next summer anthem!”

Additionally, Wicked will be taking part in a livestream interactive release show dubbed “The Rock N Roll Circus Show” on December 8, 2023 at 8pm, which will be the kickoff of the series of this rock n’ roll variety show.
