After the heroic death of Prince Angus, hope seemed to be fading for Scotland and the whole galaxy. But our mighty hero has fought his way back into the world of the living and presents, as ANGUS McSIX, the debut album, ANGUS McSIX and the Sword of Power, set for release on April 21, 2023, via Napalm Records. The new band, featuring ANGUS McSIX (Thomas Winkler), archdemon Seebulon (Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann), Nordic muscle berserker Skaw! (Manu Lotter) and the beautiful queen of the Lazer-Amazons, Thalestris (Thalia Bellazecca), contains adventures of unprecedented proportions within it. Risen from the realm of the dead, ANGUS McSIX is the last hope to free Scotland and mankind from all evil.

After the resounding success of their first single ever, “Master of the Universe”, reaching hundreds of thousands of views in no time, the epic adventure continues with the spectacular single and “Sixcalibur” and its official music video. The sword of power gives the prince unprecedented powers that are used in epic battles for the good of mankind. True to the motto “One Better”, the sword rises one level for every goblin killed.

ANGUS McSIX on “Sixcalibur”:
“Its magical blade has blocked the passageway between the world of the living and the realm of death. For a hundred thousand years it served as a seal to banish the source of all evil in the hell of hell. Now Angus has drawn the sword and thus became Angus McSix. However, this has broken the seal, and Archdemon Seebulon returns to the world of the living. To defeat the origin of all evil, the sword must be brought to the highest level; only then it becomes Sixcalibur – Sword of Power!”

After Prince Angus heroically died in one of the greatest battles in the history of man and goblinkind, all hope in Scotland and the whole galaxy seemed lost. In the Realm of Martyrs, everything faded away for Angus like a blurry dream from the distant past. But when he is suddenly reminded that his home is being threatened, the prince sets out to return to the world of the living.

The only way is through a portal in the depths of hell, sealed by the almighty sword Sixcalibur. When Angus draws the blade, he undergoes a fundamental upgrade and transforms into the golden hero ANGUS McSIX, escaping the clutches of the underworld! Willing to defeat his old adversary once again, Angus has no idea that he has just opened the gateway back to the world of the living to a much darker power: Archdemon Seebulon – the source of all evil.

The first chapter of the warriors’ glorious return can be heard on the debut album, ANGUS McSIX and the Sword of Power.

While riding on the back of a Pegasus, head-bopping techno beats and synth-waves are abound on “Ride to Hell“. Driven by mighty harmonies and striking rhythms, Angus draws “Sixcalibur”, the Sword of Power, to open the sealed gate of hell. Catchy guitar solos underline the sword’s powerful capability of gaining higher levels each time an enemy is killed by its blade. “Master of the Universe” continues the epic adventure and marks the comeback of ANGUS McSIX as he returns from the abyss. Euphoric and energetic melodies mingle with his legendary powerful vocals. The portal does lead Angus back to Scotland, but directly to the dawn of time. After the glorious warrior defeats an invasion of hellish “Fireflies of Doom”, the dwellers of the Holy Dwarven Empire of Dundee provide him the “Laser-Shooting Dinosaur”, set to music in the energetic and catchy party track, reminiscent of the good old 8-bit video game days. As the last hope for this world, Angus is now to ride to the northern islands of Stenness to discover the secret of his own destiny…

ANGUS McSIX and the Sword of Power marks the mighty return of Thomas Winkler to the world of glorious power metal hymns and chant-along party tracks. As the former face of Gloryhammer for over a decade, ANGUS McSIX took no time to pause, building up his name across genres borders as one of the best entertainers in the metal scene with several guest appearances on projects like Nanowar Of Steel’s “Valhalleluja” and Feuerschwanz’s “Warriors Of The World United”. With ANGUS McSIX, he and his new allies and enemies are now ready to fight the biggest battles of the universe!

SAXON Release Second Single + Video ‘Razamanaz’

British Heavy Metal legends SAXON unleash the high-octane second single, “Razamanaz”, from More Inspirations – out this Friday, March 24th via Silver Lining Music. Following the release of Inspirations in 2021, More Inspirations is the second ‘deep dish’ serving of the influences which have fed the mighty Saxon’s immensely successful 40+ year career. The second single is a striking take on Nazareth’s “Razamanaz”.

Frontman Biff Byford comments “In the seventies we’d go and see Nazareth they were one of the premier touring hard rock bands. We were lucky to tour with them in 1980, they used to open the show with this song, it’s about the audience performed to an audience… brilliant stuff!”

Watch/Listen to the recently released “The Faith Healer”, the “making of” video directed by Jay Shredder, at this location.

Whether unveiling a sensational take on The Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s “The Faith Healer” (in the process showing the direct lineage from teenage turntables to international glory), getting feral with The Animal’s “We’ve Gotta Get Out Of This Place”, letting loose a high-octane take on Alice Cooper’s “From The Inside”, or laying down a ferocious tribute to KISS’ “Detroit Rock City”, More Inspirations is a joyous trip into the sounds which galvanized the Barnsley boys and continue to get spun on home stereos and tour buses.

Produced by vocalist/co-founder Biff Byford, with Seb Byford helping record the music alongside mixing engineer Jacky Lehmann, More Inspirations also includes enthusiastic takes on Alice Cooper, Rainbow, ZZ Top and Cream, as well as a thunderous “Razamanaz” by Nazareth, a tasty take on The Who’s “Substitute”, and a thick groove take on Uriah Heep’s “Gypsy”.

Whether this is your first dance with such classic songs, or you’ve come to see where Saxon were born, More Inspirations delivers the goods and then some.

Saxon’s More Inspirations is out this Friday, March 24th and is available on 12” Black Vinyl, CD Digipak, digital formats and special D2C bundles; to pre-order go to this location.

IMMORTAL Release Brand New Single ‘War Against All’ + New Album Out May 26th

IMMORTAL have completed work on their upcoming new studio album, War Against All, due to be released on May 26th via Nuclear Blast Records. The band’s 10th studio album will feature 8 new songs in the classic, frostbitten IMMORTAL style. Today, IMMORTAL release their first song, the album title track ‘War Against All’, delivering just what fans have been waiting for – classic IMMORTAL Blashyrkh Metal!

Listen to ‘War Against All‘ here: https://immortal.bfan.link/waasg.ema

The band ́s founder Demonaz stated about the title track:
“War Against All was the first track I wrote for this album. It’s a fast one where the riffs are mostly inspired by my riffs from Battles in the North.
The lyrics are in the true Blashyrkh battle feel and mood for an opening track too. The frosty, raw, and fast battle songs in this style mean everything to
me. I will never forget the early years, or disappoint the fans with slowing down the pace.”

Watch the Lyric Video for ‘War Against All here:

Pre-Order War Against All here: https://immortal.bfan.link/waalp.ema

Demonaz offers some more background on the process of making War Against All:
“Even though the studio work is necessary to get an ultimate recording, the writing process is obviously my favourite. I still write all the guitar riffs/music at home with the same old vibe, and the lyrics as well. The early days of black metal inspire me the most. Cold nights in the woods, on the mountains under the winter moon. That´s what keeps the spirit alive, and the foundation to all our music.“

The album was produced in Bergen, Norway, at Earshot & Conclave Studios.
“It´s actually the same studio where I recorded the guitars and vocals for Northern Chaos Gods. They also did a great job with the new album, and it was a pleasure to go back and work there again. I am especially pleased with the outcome on this one. It´s got that cold biting guitar sound, yet powerful production.

Immortal have never compromised on the original vision, which is taking fans on a journey through Blashyrkh with our most grim and dark music, with every new release. These songs are no exception to this. I am proud of the final result, it ́s got a distinct expression, and I can ́t wait to let the fans hear it!”

The album’s cover artwork was done by the Swedish artist Mattias Frisk.

Tracklisting:
1. War Against All
2. Thunders Of Darkness
3. Wargod
4. No sun
5. Return To Cold
6. Norlandihr
7. Immortal
8. Blashyrkh My Throne

About IMMORTAL:

IMMORTAL, from the Norwegian town Bergen, established themselves as one of the most important black metal bands in the world. Formed by Demonaz (guitars) and Abbath (bass/vocals) in 1990, the band released their first three albums, Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism, Pure Holocaust and Battles In The North during the years 1992-1995. The very first records established and defined the musical style the band became infamous for.

The band then released the Blizzard Beasts album in 1997. Shortly after, Demonaz was diagnosed with a serious shoulder injury. He continued to work with the band but stopped playing guitar live. Abbath changed position from bass to playing guitar, and the band continued with different bass players over the years, releasing the albums At The Heart Of Winter (1999), Damned In Black (2000) and Sons Of Northern Darkness (2002).

In 2003 the band was put on ice, but returned to the stage in 2007 and completed several headline appearances and tours across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. All Shall Fall was released in 2009, followed by further massive festival shows and additional concerts worldwide.

In 2015, IMMORTAL and ex-singer/guitarist Abbath went their separate ways.

In 2018, IMMORTAL returned with Demonaz performing on guitar once again, also fronting the band as vocalist, releasing their 9th studio album, Northern Chaos Gods, which was very well received by both fans and global press.

Come 2023, IMMORTAL sees Demonaz releasing War Against All, the band´s 10th studio album. The record has been composed and performed by Demonaz, featuring some session members, like in earlier recordings. The album was produced by Arve Isdal, and recorded at Conclave & Earshot Studio in Bergen, Norway by Herbrand Larsen and Arve Isdal. The album was mastered by Iver Sandøy at Solslottet.

“Star Crossed Lovers celebrates youth, love and beauty and the role of fate and destiny in our lives,” guitarist Christian Logue reveals, “featuring a stellar vocal harmony arrangement composed and executed by Gabriel Colon, with shades of “Stained Class”- and “Sin After Sin”-era Halford.”

On their forthcoming album, SAVAGE GRACE are not only introducing their new vocalist Gabriel Colon – who is described as a blend of the early Rob Halford and the young Ian Gillian – but creating and moving into a new dimension of metal while keeping true to their authentic roots. Logue assembled the most incredible musicians from across the world to create the most devastating version of SAVAGE GRACE yet.

Forty years of metal experience went into crafting each of the new album songs into classics they will soon become. In addition, provocative, thought-inspiring lyrics and powerful topics weave their way through this mesmerizing collection of songs. As Logue recently said:

“This album is my masterpiece and a grand addition to my legacy of universally acclaimed classic metal recordings. Every song on this album is powerful, there is not one weak track on this record.”
