And since our album is a journey we really wanted the listener to feel the journey, like when you close your eyes, you would kind of be dragged into the soundscape and be there. Lillian Axe founder and guitarist Steve Blaze is now offering guitar lessons under the banner, The Blaze Method. The lessons are geared towards beginner and intermediate level players. However, even seasoned guitarists are getting something from the lessons, as Steve offers a refreshing way to view the instrument and how to approach playing. Lessons are pre-recorded and run for approximately 30-60 minutes. The lessons can be viewed over and over indefinitely. Quite a score, for those who find it difficult to pick up what a teacher may show them at an in-person lesson. Steve also wraps each lesson with a piece of a Lillian Axe song based around the lesson taught.

While the band is getting ready for their 1st real tour PREDATORY VOID are releasing a special treat, “Live at dunk!studios – Part I”, that is showing the band live in the studio. It is just a taste of what you can look forward to live. Included is a special acoustic version of the song “Seeds of Frustration” performed only by Lennart Bossu (guitar) and Lina R. (vocals). “Live at dunk!studios” was directed and edited by Diana Lungu and you can watch it below.
All songs are live in the studio versions of songs taken from their debut album, “Seven Keys to the Discomfort of Being”, that was released to much acclaim in April of this year.
PREDATORY VOID came to be when guitarist Lennart Bossu (AMENRA, OATHBREAKER) found himself writing material that wasn’t really suited for AMENRA. Lennart gathered a group of likeminded people living in the area of Ghent (BE): the versatile vocalist and tattoo artist Lina R, Tim De Gieter (bass; AMENRA, DOODSESKADER, MUCH LUV STUDIO), Thijs De Cloedt (guitar; COBRA THE IMPALER), and Vincent Verstrepen (drums; CARNATION).

DanMcCafferty’s name will not be forgotten, his memorable songs continue to play on countless rock radio stations around the world. Now the public is learning that undiscovered treasures were stored in McCafferty’s private archives. Some of them can now be found on the posthumous homage: ‘No Turning Back – In Memory of Dan McCafferty’, out December 7th, 2023 via Rock of Angels Records.
The previously unreleased songs ‘Occident’ and ‘No Turning Back’ are original recordings from the late 1990s that McCafferty made with German director, composer and music producer ChristophBusse. The previously unreleased track ‘Children’sEyes’ comes from a cooperation with the composer and producer DetlefWiedeke. All three titles were tailor-made for McCafferty and show the stylistically enormous range of his rough rock voice. With ‘IntotheRing’, ‘StarryEyes’ and ‘SunnyIsland’, three more pieces worth listening to follow from a particularly eventful career phase of the Scottish musician.
Written by McCafferty himself, the songs were released on his now long-out-of-print solo album ‘Into the Ring’ in 1987. The album was created between the two Nazareth classics ‘Cinema’ (1986) and ‘Snakes’n’Ladders’ (1989) and shows how imaginative the exceptional singer also acted outside of his band. ‘No Turning Back – In Memory of Dan McCafferty’ is rounded off with ‘GoingHome’ from 1993 and from the eponymous album by the short-lived project Seasons, with partly original Scottish and Irish bagpipes, fiddles, flutes and percussion instruments. The song is based on the piece ‘Largo’ from the 9th symphony ‘From the New World’ by AntonínDvořák. There are also two current cover versions of the Nazareth evergreens ‘Love Hurts’ and ‘DreamOn’ as bonus tracks, sung by the Greek PanosKalifis, whose vocal color is remarkably similar to McCafferty’s.
The songs were recorded and mixed by the renowned sound engineer BobKatsionis (Firewind, Kamelot, etc.). Last but not least: The album cover features a photo of young Dan McCafferty, while the twelve pencil and charcoal illustrations in the atmospheric booklet are by Welsh artist MartynDunn and reflect the respective songs and lyrics. So ‘No Turning Back – In Memory of Dan McCafferty’ is both a musical and visual treat for any McCafferty/Nazareth fan!
