SWEET & LYNCH, the musical union of vocalist/guitarist Michael Sweet (Stryper, Iconic) and guitarist George Lynch (Lynch Mob, The End Machine, ex-Dokken), have announced the long-awaited release of their third album, “Heart & Sacrifice” on May 19th. The combination of Sweet’s powerful, high-octane vocals and Lynch’s immediately recognizable guitar heroics once again prove to be an unbeatable combination sure to please the hard rock faithful. The first single from the album, ‘You’ll Never Be Alone’, is out today.

“I’m very pleased with the outcome of the new Sweet & Lynch album, “Heart & Sacrifice”. It’s diverse, complex and flows beautifully. Every song has something to say in its own unique way. George has always been one of my favorite players and it’s an honor to work with him again. It’s also an absolute pleasure working with Alessandro. We’re able to bring all our own contributions and contribute to create an amazing set of songs and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Get ready for “Heart & Sacrifice”!” says Michael Sweet

Sweet & Lynch first emerged with their debut album, “Only To Rise” in 2015. The album cracked the Billboard Top 200 and came in at #6 on the Top Hard Rock Albums, #17 on Independent Albums, #18 on Top Rock Albums, and #4 on Christian Albums charts. Their sophomore album “Unified” followed in 2017, landing at #53 Top Current Albums, #13 Top Current Rock Albums, and #8 Record Label Independent Current Albums on the Billboard charts. While plans for a third album were always on the table, the project went on a slight hiatus while the guys concentrated on their other musical endeavors. 2022 proved to be the year where the creative juices for Sweet & Lynch began to flow again and work on what would ultimately become “Heart & Sacrifice” began.

Alessandro Del Vecchio, who co-produced this release with Michael Sweet, plays bass on the album, while Jelly Cardarelli (Lalu) plays drums.

Michael Sweet helms the Grammy-nominated Christian hard-rock outfit Stryper, which he co-founded more than 35 years ago, as the band’s vocalist, guitarist, and main songwriter. To date, the band has more than 10 million career album sales worldwide. The venerable band ascended to prominence in the 1980s with Billboard Top 40 charting singles like “Calling on You,” “Honestly” and “Always There for You” and has in more recent years enjoyed an unparalleled career renaissance, delivering arguably the best albums of their storied career, including their 2022 album, “The Final Battle”. Michael has released multiple solo albums, including a self-titled release in 1994, which yielded five No. 1 singles, “Truth” in 2000, the critically acclaimed 2015 project “I’m Not Your Suicide” (peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s Hard Rock albums), and 2019’s “Ten”, which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart. He recently partnered with Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake), Nathan James (Inglorious), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake), and Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake, ex-Ozzy Osbourne) in the supergroup Iconic, which was greeted with much adoration by rock fans around the globe.

George Lynch emerged from the ’80s hard rock scene with the L.A. based group Dokken and went on to become a world renowned guitarist. Aside from Dokken, he also enjoyed great success with Lynch Mob, the group he founded after leaving Dokken. Lynch has gone on to become a prolific (that is an understatement, to say the least) music creator, continuing with Lynch Mob, releasing solo albums, and a wealth of collaborative efforts over the decades. Those include, but are not limited to, KXM with dug Pinnick (King’s X) and Ray Luzier (Korn), The End Machine with Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, ex-Dokken), Mick Brown (ex-Dokken), and Robert Mason (Warrant), Sweet & Lynch with Michael Sweet (Stryper), Ultraphonix with Corey Glover (Living Colour), Dirty Shirley with Dino Jelusick (Animal Drive, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), The Banishment with Joe Haze, and many more.

THE HELLFREAKS Unleash Third Single + Official Music Video ‘Weeping Willow’

Hungary’s hottest upstarts THE HELLFREAKS are ready to serve another dose of their skillfully-combined modern metal blend, featuring heavy post-hardcore and skate punk influences galore. Topped with a mix of delicate clean vocals and aggressive screams, they are primed to drop jaws around the world! With over a million Spotify spins of their most popular hit “Men In Grey”, THE HELLFREAKS are off to a flying start with their upcoming fifth album, Pitch Black Sunset, out April 14, 2023 via Napalm Records.

Showing off the band’s versatility and unquestionable talent, their third single, “Weeping Willow”, leans towards modern electronic metal. With a drastic change towards the end – the dark and eerily atmospheric track surprises the listener with extraordinary vocalist Zsuzsa “Shakey Sue“ Radnóti’s impressive core-breaking shouts. “Weeping Willow” comes along with a smashing, highly-energetic official video, proving once more that THE HELLFREAKS don’t compromise on any rules and defy norms.

Waving the flag of a new generation of metal and punk, THE HELLFREAKS are experts in the fusion of punk subgenres and chart-storming modern metal.

THE HELLFREAKS state on “Weeping Willow”:
“Do you ever feel like you’re in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by waves, and even though you know how to swim, you still can’t find the shore? Do you know how it feels being haunted by your own mind or when your memories feel more alive than yourself?

‘Weeping Willow’ is a raw and brutally honest portrayal of the battle with our inner demons. This song reveals the darkest and vulnerable side of the album that we wanted to reveal it with the most cinematic video we’ve ever shot by using symbolism and imagery, that truly captures the essence of the song.

We wanted our fans to know that they are not alone in their struggles. Mental health is a battle that many people face, including us and ‘Weeping Willow’ is a reminder that for some of us it is normal to feel overwhelmed and to ask for help. We believe it is an important release that deserves to be heard, and we are proud to share it with our familys, fans and supporters. Stay strong, and remember, you are not alone!”

Kicking off with Radnóti’s trademark sing-along-screams, “Old Tomorrows” raises the pulse with fast-paced punk mixed with groovy metal beats. Like the story of Jekyll and Hyde, the upstarts unveil their angry side on “Hit Me Where It Hurts”, led by electronic rock as distorted, rhythmic guitar lines set the pace with catchy metalcore beats. Followed by the restless track “Chaos”, boisterous thrash lines meet pop-punk-infused metal before closing with a Tom Morello-worthy solo. THE HELLFREAKS stay true to themselves yet never become stagnant or pretentious. “Body Bag” offers a total contrast – surfacing like a message in a bottle with its in-your-face, straight forward 2000s skate punk vibe that fans of the genre have always wished for. THE HELLFREAKS showcase the individual musical expertise of its members when chunky riffs merge with strong beats and highly aggressive shouts, while bittersweet vocal lines call out for a feelgood song.

With almost a decade of existence, THE HELLFREAKS embrace the influence of modern metal, alternative, post-hardcore and punk to form their unmatched sound. HEATHEN FORAY Premiere New Music Video for Album Title Track ‘Oathbreaker’

April 7, 2023 sees neo-pagan death metal force HEATHEN FORAY release their forthcoming, new album, entitled Oathbreaker, through Massacre Records. Following the previously-shared singles “Leben” and “Ahnenreih”, today, the band unleashed a music video for the heavy as hell album title track!

HEATHEN FORAY comments:

“The opening song, and album title track, “Oathbreaker” summarizes our environmental message. The mix of English and German lyrics is a first for the band. Old-school In Flames/ Dark Tranquillity grooves meet the band’s own signature style of folk melodies and crushing low-end.

Humanity has broken its oath to protect and nourish the world they live in. They are the betrayers and must repent.”

HEATHEN FORAY began their journey with the ambition to blend the heaviness of death metal with lighthearted and catchy melodies that will stay in your mind long after you heard them. This authentic mix, seasoned with folk music elements, paid off as the band’s sing-along themes and skull splitting riffs earned them a following of underground metal fans and media taste-makers.

Whereas other bands in the general vicinity of this genre mix tend to dress up in medieval clothing or play Vikings on stage, HEATHEN FORAY made a clear statement that their kinship with the Pagan ways is a modern interpretation of them. What else is a modern Pagan than an activist for a cleaner environment, sustainable living, and social solidarity? This led to their music often being described as “neo pagan metal” and their songs being advocates against climate-change and oppression.

The band’s new album Oathbreaker embraces these ideas both lyrically and musically. The album sees the band return to their melodic and uplifting musical roots that will remind fans much more of earlier albums like “The Passage” and “Armored Bards” rather than the much darker “Weltenwandel” from 2020. Oathbreaker was produced by Jürgen Brüder & Adam Train, and was mixed/mastered by Adam Train. Slated for a release on April 7, 2023, the album pre-sale is available via Massacre Records at THIS LOCATION!

Oathbreaker track listing:

  1. Oathbreaker
  2. Leben
  3. Ahnenreih
  4. Heimdalls Spross
  5. Allvoll
  6. 1000 Years Of Human Flesh
  7. Raiment
  8. Covenant Of Swords

HEATHEN FORAY Live:
18.-19.05.2023 AT Wien – Viper Room (Heathen Gathering)
23.-24.06.2023 SI Trbovlje – Cahn Fest

HEATHEN FORAY is:
Robert Schroll – Vocals

YES Announce New Studio Album “Mirror To The Sky”, Out May 19th, Launch First Single ‘Cut From The Stars’

YES, who are Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Billy Sherwood & Jay Schellen, are pleased to announce their new studio album Mirror To The Sky on InsideOutMusic/Sony Music on the 19th May 2023.

“This is a very important album for the band,” says Steve Howe, Yes’ longest serving member, master guitarist, and producer of Mirror To The Sky. “We kept the continuity in the approach we established on The Quest, but we haven’t repeated ourselves. That was the main thing. As Yes did in the seventies from one album to another, we’re growing and moving forward. In later years, Yes often got going but then didn’t do the next thing. This album is demonstrative of us growing and building again.”

For Yes, that “next thing” is a collection of high energy, intricate, lush and layered new studio songs for an album which adds to the band’s much heralded legacy, while charting a path to exciting future times ahead.

Check out the album’s first track and video “Cut From The Stars”.

MIRROR TO THE SKY will be available on several formats, all featuring artwork by long-time Yes artist and collaborator Roger Dean.

Pre-order here.
