After several anticipations in the past few months and a new single released a couple of weeks ago that’s heavily rotating in the metal radios all around Europe, the Italian female-fronted metal band SETANERA released today, February 17th, the new album EQUILIBRIUM. The album is available through Italian record label Volcano Records & Promotion on all digital platforms, streaming providers and digital stores. EQUILIBRIUM shows a big maturation for Setanera that reveals a band fully aware and in total control of its sound and personality.
This is how Setanera present the album: “The context in which we live brings out emotions that we are often afraid to feel and that, at the same time, we have difficulty perceiving. We don’t know how to name them and we don’t know how to manage them. With the album Equilibrium we want to give voice to these emotions expressing the need for decision-making, both mental and physical freedom, seeking the inner strength that we are often unaware of but that helps us. With the story of personal and always true events, EQUILIBRIUM expresses the love for nature and hope for the future.”
May 26th will see the release of “Det Österbottniska Mörkret”, the brand new album by Finnish black metal legion ONDFØDT. After the release of the first single “Dödsrejson”, the band follows up today with a brand new music video for the track “Tvelatan”. Watch the video below.
“Tvetalan is about double standarded people driven by religion or other ridiculous beliefs. Spreading false information and forcing themselves and others to believe and follow their message.” Ondfødt comments.
Written in 2022, “Det Österbottniska Mörkret” is a bleak record, both lyric and sound wise. Hailing from Ostrobothnia, an area in western Finland with lots of urban legends and dark stories, this album is exploring the darkest side of Ostrobothnia, both lyrically and sonically.
“If you are from Ostrobothnia you will understand. The endless darkness during winter when the sun is barely going above the horizon. You will also understand the dark history of the witch hunt.“
“Det Österbottniska Mörkret” is about all of that and going even deeper to the roots of all the evil spirits that lives in the area.The album takes you through the dark history of murders and the darkest side of people driven by religion. And aswell the urban legends of the spirits and the evil creations that lives in the endless forsts of Ostrobothnia.

TRANSATLANTIC – the Prog Supergroup of Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt & Pete Trewavas – have released the new concert set entitled ‘The Final Flight: Live At L’Olympia’ today, Friday, 17th February 2023. It was recorded and filmed in France on the last stop of a tour to promote the band’s fifth and most audacious album to date, ‘The Absolute Universe’. This was the multinational group’s first outing in eight years.
EINAR SOLBERG – frontman of Norwegian rock mavericks Leprous – is pleased to announce the release of his debut solo album ‘16’ on June 2nd, 2023. Wildly diverse, but spiritually rooted in Einar’s well-established musical world, ‘16’ is an album that brims with surprises and spinning curveballs and features a collection of intimate but extravagant collaborations.
Solberg has also released the video for “Grotto”, the first single to be taken from the album, a track written alongside Magnus Børmark, best known as a member of Norwegian alt-folk troupe Gåte. It also features Keli Guðjónsson (Agent Fresco) on drums, Tor Egil Kreken on bass, Raphael Weinroth-Browne (Leprous touring member) on cello & Chris Baum (Bent Knee) on violin.
Although active on the live front ever since their foundation in 2006, Serbian Black Metal commando KOLAC have released their latest official material “Zauvek crni” 9 years ago in 2014, so it is about time for their new, third full-length album to be unleashed later this year in collaboration with Pest Records.
KOLAC‘s upcoming official effort will be a special one: a self-titled loose concept record featuring 9 new tracks plus intro revolving around the usage of stakes (Kolac in Serbian language) as punishment methods in the Middle Ages and beyond. Primarily a traditional Black Metal band, KOLAC allows plenty of Thrash Metal touches to enrich their compositions, and the result is a combination of primal fury and energy, with darkened melodies and rhythmic diversity.
Here’s what the band had to say about their upcoming album and collaboration with Pest Records: “It is but a pinnacle… The memory from the time we’ve made the initial contact fades. Pest Records has ever supported us and when it came to searching for an honest, dedicated label that shares our passion for dark soundscapes, there were obvious pointers.
