THE GUESS WHO is a legendary Canadian band who enjoyed chart topping hits in the late 60s and early 70s with an impressive catalogue of songs including “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” and “No Time.” During the course of its career, the band has released 11 studio albums, all of which charted in Canada and the United States. The Guess Who is best known internationally for its 1970 album, American Woman, which hit number one in Canada and number nine in the United States, with five other albums also hitting the top ten in Canada.  All in all, the Guess Who boasts 14 top-40 singles in the United States and more than 30 in Canada.

Following its critically acclaimed 2018 recording, The Future IS What It Used to Be, the band is currently gearing up to release its latest creation,Plein D’Amour. Band members Derek Sharp, Michael Staertow, Leonard Shaw, Michael Devin, and founding member, Garry Peterson have crafted a collection of songs that raises the bar and continues to take things up a notch both musically and sonically.

The Guess Who is primed to take its stunning new music to even greater heights with its spectacular live show. The band is ready to start the newest chapter of its illustrious career in partnership with Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group) commencing with the forthcoming release of Plein D’Amour. Bandmate Michael Staertow expressed it best when he said, “We couldn’t think of a better time to introduce the world to an exceptional collection of songs that exude positivity and cohesive energy, a much needed cultural antidote. Now we ARE love — Plein D’Amour!”. Founding member, Garry Peterson continues, “After recording this album, and living with it for a while, I believe this is the best album that I have played on.” Deko Entertainment president, Bruce Pucciarello, comments on the new album, “This new song collection is a progressive-pop blend of well-written material and the musicianship is over the top. Decades later, this band still blows me away!”

Derek Sharp, songwriter and lead vocalist, says, “The King” is a nod to ‘all the king’s horses and all the king’s men, couldn’t put Humpty together again’ … however, loving kindness is a universal balm, which can not only put Humpty together again, but turn him into a Prince!

In addition to the first single “The King” the album Plein D’Amour includes seven more new tracks. The album Plein D’Amour was recorded at Villa Sound in Singhampton, Ontario, Canada, with Adam Fair.

SALIVA’s latest single “High On Me” debuted on the Rock Radio charts this past week and has reached over 1 million streams! The band announced the Spring Mayhem Tour with Through Fire and Any Given Sin that begins on March 17th in Amelia Island, FL at Saddler Ranch.

“High On Me” can be streamed/downloaded HERE

“‘High on me’ is about a day in the life of someone’s opioid addiction. Is it me or the drugs that keep you sticking around? The opioid epidemic is something so many struggle with and most never make it out the other side. I’ve had many friends die from it and it saddens me when I hear of someone losing that battle,” says Bobby Amaru, vocalist of the band.

Saliva will continue to release tracks and ultimately a full album. The new music has a contemporary feel but sticks to the blue collar roots that their fans love.

After acquiring front man Bobby Amaru in 2011, Saliva became infused with new blood, energy, and spirit. The same energy launched Saliva’s career in 2001 with the release, _Every Six Seconds – a certified Double Platinum-selling album, containing the hits, “Click Click Boom” and 2002 Grammy nominated, “Your Disease.” Saliva’s in-your-face, anthemic writing style continued with a certified Gold-selling album *Back in to Your System_ with hits: “Always,” “Raise Up,” and the Nikki Sixx co-written, “Rest In Pieces.”*

Upon adding former Shinedown and Fuel bassist, Brad Stewart, as a permanent member, Saliva solidified their new lineup consisting of: Wayne Swinny, Sammi Jo Bishop and Amaru.

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT Release Brand New Single + Video ‘Alien’

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT are thrilled to announce the release of their brand new single “Alien” via Better Noise Music. The track is accompanied by a music video, which can be watched here.

“Alien” further showcases the band’s songwriting capabilities and ethos. In their own words: “The Funeral Portrait stands to represent the outcasts from all walks of life. The misunderstood, the different, the neurodivergent, LGBT+, marginalized, and any others given an unfair hand in life. To offer a sense of community, a place to belong, a space where they can feel safe and accepted for their differences. We all grew up “the weird kid” who was saved by music & the alternative culture, so we feel obligated to return this to the younger generation”.

STREAM “ALIEN”

Lee Jennings comments: “’Alien’ is a track that talks about a character feeling ostracized by their peers. The feeling that everyone gets the joke but them. It is so easy to feel disconnected and alienated when surrounded by ‘normal’ people who don’t struggle in the same ways as yourself. I spent many years growing up feeling like I was not just an outsider but an “alien”. It was so hard to find where I belonged on this earth until one day I decided that none of that mattered and just kept living my life as me and stayed true to myself.”

Their message runs deep and throughout their forthcoming debut album, which is due out in 2023. The Funeral Portrait’s theatrics and dramatic presentation is yet another way to underline the band’s core values.

Already drawing critical acclaim, The Funeral Portrait has been featured in Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know”, alongside key mention in UK’s staple magazine Rock Sound; their song “Holy Water” was recently featured on multiple episodes of All Elite Wrestling.

Since their inception, The Funeral Portrait has been touring relentlessly and opened for acts such as Shinedown, Underoath, Skillet, From Ashes To New, Starset, Pvris and also played the main stage at Inkcarceration Fest.

Finland’s CRANEIUM Release Stand Alone Single ‘Sands of Gold’

The new single from Finlands’ CRANEIUM is called “Sands of Gold” and it oozes of heavy blues rock, desert sand and gasoline. But it’s more than a heavy rock tune with a lot of drive, it’s also a song filled with hope.

The stand alone single was written during the sessions for the bands’ latest album “Unknown Heights” (2021). The band recorded the song at V.R. Studio in Turku together with Joona Hassinen from Studio Underjord.

Guitarist Martin, who also handles the lead vocal duties on the track, explains:
“The line ‘we all must do our part / got a new world here in our hearts’ is inspired by a quote by anarcho-syndicalist Buenaventura Durruti. The song is about believing in your thing and staying true to your ideas, even if it at times may seem dark. Something we all could use a little more of right now.“

“Sands of Gold” is out now on all streaming platforms via The Sign Records.

Craneium are:
Andreas Kaján – Guitars and Vocals
Martin Ahlö – Guitars and Vocals
Jonas Ridberg – Bass
Joel Kronqvist – Drums

After twelve years of band history by now, it’s time to take the power metal hope WINTERSTORM to a new level. The band‘s fifth studio album, entitled “Everfrost”, will be their first offering since 2016 and their debut on AFM Records.

“Winter” stands for nordic viking and folk metal, “Storm” for fast-paced power metal, combined with epic and orchestral metal facettes, WINTERSTORM shines in a new splendor as the brand new album single, “To The End Of All Known“, proves. The band comments:

“While our new Single “To The End Of All Known” is about uncertain future times driven by technical progress, we as a band are looking forward positively to play our next shows for our fans and hope they enjoy the newest Song and our upcoming album: “

It’s the melodic grandeur, that clearly marks the foreground of WINTERSTORM, reflected in heavily catchy choruses and colossal, polyphonic vocals. Striking elements of different metal styles merge with each other and get a completely new impression, that WINTERSTORM’s forthcoming record may be their most versatile and powerful album to date; one that does not have to hide behind proved genre colleagues such as Blind Guardian or Rhapsody Of Fire.
