Rockshots Records is proud to present a remix version of Oddko’s “D4TM” from roster artists  NeroArgento  and TheSilverback.

The track was originally released in 2020 as part of Oddko‘s EP “Digital Gods”. The single has amassed over 640k streams and 750k YouTube views along with multiple awards win for its music video.

Watch the music video for the remix version of “D4TM” by NeroArgento and TheSilverblack, below.

ODDKO is an LA-based independent alternative/industrial metal band spawned from the mind of director and motion designer Giovanni Bucci (Korn, Jane’s Addiction, Fleshgod Apocalypse), who started the band as a way to fully express himself in all dimensions, using the music to fuel the images and then feed back into the music.

Their debut EP, Digital Gods was written and composed by Giovanni, and for the initial recording, he tracked guitars, bass, and electronics, and programmed drums. Subsequently, he recorded the tracks with the help of Francesco Paoli (Fleshgod Apocalypse) and Dave Tavanti (Kpanic). Production and recording of cellos, violins, drums, bass, guitar, and various arrangements were orchestrated by Daniele Marinelli. The final magic touches were applied in Los Angeles with the help of producer/sound engineer Rob Romano, and the EP was mastered by Howie Weinberg (Rammstein, Madonna, Metallica).

The band’s current lineup is Giovanni Bucci (Lead Vocals), Francesco Paoli (Drums), Gideon “Obsidian” Garcia (Guitar), and Dave Tavanti (Bass).

The Silverblack is an industrial metal act based in Europe that has been active since 2014. Better known for their combination of aggressive metal onslaughts and eerie gothic atmospheres The Silverblack have recently obtained worldwide praise and exposure for their collaboration with former Fear Factory singer Burton C. Bell on the title track of their latest album “Judgment”.

NeroArgento is an award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer. Hereleased his sixth studio album “Land of Silence” via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022.

“Land of Silence” follows the success of 2020’s “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify. The new record is an explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds. It is also the most coherent album to date from NeroArgento‘s discography. It’s a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers.

With great attention to every aspect, “Land of Silence” is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento. The full-length was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer).

Irish folk-Metal Pioneers CRUACHAN Release New Single ‘The Reaper’ Feat. Sinead Richards

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 30, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: CRUACHAN. Leave a comment

‘The Reaper’, the third single from Irish folk-metal pioneers CRUACHAN‘s upcoming ninth album ‘The Living and the Dead’, is a wonderful blend of the band’s hardest metal riffs and hauntingly beautiful folk and traditional instruments. Featuring Sinead Richards, she’s only 14 year old and daughter of our producer.

“She is a huge talent and aded such orchestral heft to this song that we can’t imagine how it would sound without her contribution.”// Keith Fay

Keith about the new song:
‘The song ‘The Reaper’ is about my dad, who sadly passed away in 2020. There was a point when Audrey was layering the strings section for this song, I was listening with Joe and our producer Mick and it literally brought me to tears. I turned to Joe and all I could manage to say was ‘wow’. I did my dad proud with that song but I think we did all of our fans proud with this entire album. I could talk about many other parts in many other tracks but you’ll hear it yourself and see what I mean. I achieved my goal. I created the best Cruachan album to date.’

Ireland’s Cruachan have enjoyed a storied career since they took those tentative first steps back in 1992. As frontman and sole original member Keith Fay elaborates; ‘When I started writing music as a 13-year-old, I had no idea that I was laying the foundations for what would become a brand-new genre, Folk Metal, or that I was planting the seeds of what would be one of the longest running Irish metal bands in history. There have been many ups and downs over the last thirty years, band members have come and gone, record deals have come and gone. We’ve played some of the biggest metal festivals on the planet, travelled to more countries than most Irish bands would ever dream possible. And it has all led to this – our ninth album, ‘The Living and the Dead’.’

‘I really like Cruachan’s style of music and this album is a definite must if you’re a fan of folk metal!’ – Johan Soderberg / Amon Amarth

– Cruachan, the first real folk metal band. This release is an undeniably rewarding folk metal opus. – Metal Hammer (UK)

– Since 1992, celtic metal warriors Cruachan have survived endless trends and fads to continue crafting a style of music that had always, until recently, been marginalized to the sidelines of metal. Now they return to find themselves as part of a folk metal scene that has rocketed in popularity to finally achieve the success that their influence on the genre merits. – Terrorizer (UK)

– There’s an array of metal bands across the globe that utilise Celtic themes, imagery and costumes. However, very few incorporate these elements with such passion and sincerity as Cruachan. As the founders of folk-metal, they have created and defined their own genre of heavy music – and it is indisputably Irish. – Hot Press (Ireland)

‘From the opening blast of ‘The Living’ to the final lament of ‘The Dead’, the Living and the Dead is everything you want from Cruachan and more. 12 tracks of Blistering riffs, magnificent melodies, and bewitchment.’  – Stu ‘La Rage’ Dixon / Venom

“From the uplifting excitement and energy of track one, The Living, this album grabs your heart and mind then drags them on a fantastic journey through haunting and foreboding stories put to sublimely beautiful folk and aggressive metal, constantly interweaving until we reach…. The Dead” – Jon Campling / Actor (Harry Potter, Final Fantasy)

A man whose vision and passion for his band has never wavered in the ensuing three decades, Cruachan’s place in, not only in metal history, but that of Ireland’s musical landscape, has been hard earned and hard fought. But Fay was always confident that he and the band would always deliver. ‘This album had to be good. No, it had to be better than good. This had to be the best Cruachan album ever made. I faced a decision in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, when three band members left the band. ‘Do I call it a day? or do I press on with the mammoth task of replacing everyone’. There was no real decision to be made, I worked way too hard over the years to allow Cruachan to fizzle out. I had been writing some of the best music of my career in recent years. I secured a record deal with a label (Sweden’s Despotz Records) that understood exactly what Cruachan and my vision is’.

‘How many words do you want in this quote, Keith? Because I could go on all day about how f**king good this album is’. – Gareth Murdock / Alestorm

With the deal signed, talk obviously turned to new music. ‘The new album only existed in my head but he still pushed me to get a single out. We recorded The Hawthorn and the reaction was immense.’ Buoyed by the amazing reaction to the single, Fay recruited new members for Cruachan in ‘record time’. ‘Joe Farrell had already re-joined Cruachan on bass at the start of 2020, apart from being one of my oldest friends, he was also my rock during this time. Tom (Woodlock), one of the best metal drummers in Ireland, joined us early in 2020. I’ve known Dave Quinn for many years so was a relief that I didn’t need to audition for guitarists, he came in and was a natural fit for the band. I did advertise for a folk instrumentalist and had a few interesting applications. Audrey sent me a mail with some links to her playing. My jaw literally dropped and I recruited her right away. She has been playing violin since the age of 4, the quality she brings to every aspect of Cruachan is beyond compare, from our folky stuff to our classical stuff, it has all just moved to a level I never thought possible.’

‘It was a pleasure to be a part of this project, the fusion of heavy metal and folk music on this album is furious, organic, and natural. Folk metal fans are in for a treat.’  – Camillus Hiney / The Fureys

New line-up in place, and a clutch of songs Fay felt were among the strongest he’d ever written for the band, the time came to enter the studio to work on what would become ‘The Living and the Dead’. ‘Finally, in April 2022, we entered Trackmix studios to start recording. The quality and maturity of our new material was obvious right away. There have always been elements of classical music in Cruachan’s material but I explored this a lot more on some of the new songs. The honesty and credibility in the finished songs takes my breath away.

‘This album has everything from groovy death to the folkiest of metals! If you’re a true folker then this album is for you!’  – Mathias ‘Vreth’ Lillmans / Finntroll

More on Cruachan 30 years as a band!
Since forming the band in 1992, it’s been Keith Fay’s singular vision that has steered the band for nearly thirty years. Appearing originally under the moniker Minas Tirith the band’s focus on Irish history and mythology prompted a change to more suitable Cruachan. The band’s blend of Irish folk music and metal was unique and in late ’93, their demo ‘Celtica‘ soon landed the band their first record deal with Nazguls Eyrie Productions. The first fruits of this endeavour was the band’s cult classic debut album, ‘Tuatha Na Gael‘, which hit the shelves in 1995 to critical acclaim. The band began to draw admiring glances from a number of bigger labels, but none suited the band’s ambition. They eventually signed with Hammerheart records and released ‘The Middle Kingdom‘ in 1999. ‘The Middle Kingdom‘ record saw the band make their first international live appearances. Their third album ‘Folk-lore‘ was produced by and featured the unmistakable vocals of The Pogues legend Shane MacGowan on ‘Ride On‘ which was a surprise hit single in Ireland. Subsequent releases, including ‘Pagan‘ and ‘Blood on the Black Robe‘ saw the band join up with AFM and Candlelight records and led to Cruachan hitting some of the biggest festival stages, including; Hellfest and 70, 000 Tonnes of Metal (where they became one of the few bands to ever perform three sets, one of which featured Gwar vocalist Kim Dyalla as special guest), as well as their own ‘25th Anniversary’ show in Ireland.

After a few tumultuous years band leader Keith Fay observes; “A number of long-term members chose to leave the band, but that prompted a time of rebirth for the band and it has only been a positive thing.”  Despite the upheaval behind the scenes, one thing has never faltered; and that is Keith’s passion for folk and metal music, and Cruachan’s unique way of bringing the two together.

Cruachan are:
Keith Fay – Vocals, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Bouzouki, Mandolin, Keyboard, Bodhrán
Audrey Trainor – Violin, Viola, Cello

Jon is an actor that has appeared in Harry Potter (the Death Eater that stops the Hogwarts Express) as well as King Regis from Final Fantasy. In recent years he decided to learn to play guitar and sing and we’re delighted his professional singing debut is on this album (and he nailed it)

Stu is the guitarist with metal legends VENOM. An amazing lead guitarist who lends a real touch of class to this song.

John Fay – Tin whistle (The Children)
John needs no introduction, long time member of Cruachan over the years it was a pleasure to have him back and still involved with the band as a guest musician. You’ll see John on TV all the time in shows such as Vikings, Game of Thrones etc

Sinead Richards – Euphonium (The Reaper)
Lastly a huge thank you to Sinead, the 14 year old daughter of our producer. She is a huge talent and added such orchestral heft to this song that we can’t imagine how it would sound without her contribution.

THE NEVERLAND EXPRESS + Caleb Johnson Share ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ Single, New Album Out Now

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 30, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Caleb Johnson, THE NEVERLAND EXPRESS. Leave a comment

Paul Crook — Meat Loaf‘s longtime producer, music director, and guitarist — recently announced the brand new release, Paradise Found: Bat Out of Hell Reignited, a new LP helmed by Meat Loaf’s official band, The Neverland Express — featuring alumni Justin Avery, (keyboard, vocals), Tom Brislin (orchestration), Steve Buslowe (bass), Paul Crook (guitar), Randy Flowers (guitar), David Luther (saxophone), Lyssa Lynne (“Stop Right There!”), John Miceli (drums) — plus American Idol Season 13 winner Caleb Johnson providing lead vocals. Today, the album is finally out through Deko Entertainment and Crook’s label, Crooked Media, LLC.

Paradise Found reimagines the sound, passion, and fury of the original Bat Out of Hell, the 1977 release by Meat Loaf and composer Jim Steinman, which remains in the top five best-selling albums of all time. It includes all seven songs performed in their original order. The song arrangements have developed over decades of touring and now the listener can hear these re-envisioned versions.

As Crook states on the album: “The music is timeless, and we play it virtually note for note. The wall of sound that fans experience when seeing us live is captured in this recording. Meat Loaf fans will be pleased. We’re hoping this release introduces Meat and Jim to a whole new fan base.”

“This album has been a labor of love for us,” continues Crook. “Meat Loaf’s passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of millions around the world. We are committed to keeping the legacy alive by celebrating this incredible music. I felt there was no better way to honor our boss and Jim than to release our tribute to Bat Out of Hell on this special 45th anniversary.”

The LP’s first single “All Revved Up With No Place To Go” dropped this past October, almost 45 years to the date of the official release of the original Bat Out of Hell album. Later, Deko + Crooked presented the record’s next single, “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad,” alongside a behind-the-scenes making-of video. Alongside the LP drop today, Deko + Crooked share the record’s focus track, “Bat Out Of Hell.”

Speaking on the single, Crook wrote:

“Jim Steinman’s Rock masterpiece. The most dramatic motorcycle crash song ever written. Bat Out Of Hell, the album, was released in 1977. It remains in the top 5 best sellers list of all-time. It was developed from a musical, Neverland, a futuristic rock version of Peter Pan, which Steinman wrote for a workshop in 1974. After the album was mixed to 2 track, they then had to speed-up that tape to get the songs to fit onto a vinyl record. This made Meat’s voice sound different, higher. The end result haunted Meat Loaf his entire career. Ticket buyers wanted to hear that voice….this always bothered him. Jim mentioned that the intro chords were inspired by ‘Jailhouse Rock.’ I never get tired of performing this song. The music is both fun and challenging to play.

The song was originally recorded in the key of E. Our re-recorded version was recorded in the key of F (the key that it now lives in on the original 1977 pressing). The arrangement is completely different from the original. All of Meat Loaf’s songs have developed into something completely different from their original recordings. This is the LIVE arrangement. The version, we, the Neverland Express have been performing with Meat Loaf for decades.”

All things Paradise Found: Bat Out of Hell Reignited can be purchased HERE. Listen to the LP now via all DSPs.

Bat Out of Hell Reignited – TRACKLISTING

  3. Heaven Can Wait
  4. All Revved Up With No Place To Go
  5. Two Out of Three Aint Bad

  7. For Crying Out Loud

Deko Entertainment is very excited to be part of this amazing release. As President Bruce Pucciarello states, “This new rendition of Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell by his touring band, the Neverland Express, generates an elevated energy as American Idol winner Caleb Johnson’s voice connects with perfection to Meat’s legacy. Close the windows…you’ll be singing along loudly.”

Crook continues, “I’m happy we are able to release this album with Deko Entertainment. I’ve been friends with Charlie Calv (Deko partner) since high school, having played in separate local cover bands as kids. He’s a successful musician in his own right, currently playing keyboards with Angel, so he and his partner Bruce take a true artist first approach to running their label. The fact that they are big Meat Loaf fans makes this extra special.”

In addition to the new LP, the celebration continues live, in concert: Celebrating Meat Loaf with the Neverland Express + Caleb Johnson is a live concert performance of Bat Out of Hell in its entirety, plus other Meat Loaf hits. Created & produced by Paul Crook, this is the only show that was officially endorsed by Meat Loaf.

2023 performance scheduling is underway, including a very special six-show UK tour May 20-27, 2023. View the full list of dates below and purchase tickets HERE.

Cybergrind group THOTCRIME have shared two remixes of their D1G1T4L_DR1FT album track Motherfucker Unlimited, by both Ari Liloia and exjaynine. Motherfucker Unlimited (remixes) is available on all streaming platforms now and showcases further electronic elements to THOTCRIME’s eclectic sound of grind, mathcore, hyperpop and more.

Fans can participating in remixes Motherfucker Unlimited by signing up to the band’s mailing list for stems here.

Stream Motherfucker Unlimited (Remixes) via
Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify

Speaking on the remixes, Malady Jane (guitar) comments: “Both artists took a very upfront and confrontational song and took it in very different directions, but their respective takes carry the same energy. Ari’s more ambient and contemplative approach really lends itself to stewing in the emotions in an organic and ethereal way, where exjaynine really hits you over the head with the aggression and outright onslaught. Both are amazing and different takes that convey the same feeling.”

THOTCRIME’s prolific output to date has seen the band generate a buzz in online music communities and garner praise from Bandcamp Daily in the publication’s profile on the burgeoning cybergrind movement at large. D1G1T14L_DR1FT, the follow up to 2020s ønyøurcømputer, sees THOTCRIME continue to gleefully abandon genre convention in favour of boundless individuality and invention. Of the 13 tracks, THOTCRIME boast features from Carson Pace of The Callous Daoboys, Katie Davies of Pupil Slicer, Aki McCullough of Dreamwell and diana starshine.

THOTCRIME is:
Hayleyy Sparxx – Vocals
K. Salmon – Producer
Malady Jane – Guitar
Dot Homler – Drums
