GRAND DESIGN, the Swedish AOR/melodic rock sensation, are back with their long- awaited 6th album Rawk that will hit the streets on Friday April 21, 2023. The album was produced by Pelle Saether and recorded at Studio Underground Sweden between January and September 2022. This album is the perfect follow up to their last album V (2020). Rawk has that signature GRAND DESIGN sound that has made them one of the top artists in the Swedish melodic rock scene. The first chapter of the warriors’ glorious return can be heard on the debut album, ANGUS McSIX and the Sword of Power.
While riding on the back of a Pegasus, head-bopping techno beats and synth-waves are abound on “Ride to Hell“. Driven by mighty harmonies and striking rhythms, Angus draws “Sixcalibur”, the Sword of Power, to open the sealed gate of hell. Catchy guitar solos underline the sword’s powerful capability of gaining higher levels each time an enemy is killed by its blade. “Master of the Universe” continues the epic adventure and marks the comeback of ANGUS McSIX as he returns from the abyss. Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Spanish power melodic metal Dreamyth for the release of their debut album “Aletheia” on April 14, 2023. Combining heavy riffs, epic and majestic orchestrations, modern synths, and stunning vocal and harmonies with finesse like no one else, the band delivers high caliber album with special guests Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Herbie Langhans (Firewind, Avantasia), Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind) and Eduardo Guilló (Sun of the Dying, Crusade of Bards). Dreamyth intends to conquer the heart of metal fans all around the world.
Formed in 2020 by guitarist and composer Adrián Carrero (Crusade of Bards) and drummer David Macarrilla. Dreamyth crafted its name by combining the words “Dream” and “Myth”, which they described as “a new world beyond imagination where its Myths and legends are real”. Andrea Carrero completed the core of the project after singing on all the song demos (released and unreleased). Soon after they were joined by Paolo Andreotti (Crusade of Bards) and second vocalist Dani G.
Band co-founder Adrián Carrero’s passion for classical history and culture, especially his stories about mythology in different cultures influences the lyrics that accompany the band’s compositions. Everything takes place in a new world where they are the Gods, Aletheia.
The concept album transports fans to a new world “ALETHEIA”, and the myth and legends that surround it are sometimes approached from a philosophical point of view.
“The idea was born from the need to give a new approach to the way of telling the myths of our world. Over the years, these stories derived from cultural traditions or legends, which have a deep symbolic meaning and usually involve a lesson, have been shared in different ways and have always generated a certain curiosity and inspiration in society. Luckily, there are tons of myths and legends and often many variations of the same core story between different cultures.” adds Adrián Carrero.
This first album focuses on the creation of this new world and its beginning, giving rise to a polytheistic culture where the band members are the most revered Gods with different attributes. In this approach, the band makes its own reinterpretation of some classical myths (including references to some of the most famous Greek mythologies) mixed with different personal experiences and concerns. With two lead vocals, the record brings a constant contrast, giving more life to the melodies and strengthening specific parts with numerous backing vocals. Apart from them, the first-class guests bring much more musical variety, and metal fans will be surprised and in their comfort zone at the same time with this album. Epic and catchy melodies mixed with a powerful instrumental background.
The musical composition of the album is clearly influenced by the great power metal and symphonic groups, some of the band members’ favorite genres. “Aletheia” incorporates flourished power, pop, metal, and rock songs combined with incredible storytelling of a mythical, and unique world filled with wonderful shades of “light in the dark.” On it, you can see a lot of guitars with doubled melodies, keyboards interacting with these melodies, epic orchestrations with a high level of detail, a lot of contrasts… music with a big amount of different sounds, from intimate ballads with only acoustic instruments to furious riffs leading to epic or darkness places.
Adrián Carrero adds, “The band and I are so excited to bring you the first chapter of our story! We’ve been working really hard on all this music, making the stories connect and the music itself reflect the plot of each. It’s definitely the most time we’ve spent on a musical project and the first time I’m leading all the work, from the first song ideas to the lyrics. We hope people enjoy it as much as we did forging it.”
The band’s first single to unveil off the debut full-length is the title track, which features Herbie Langhans (Firewind, Avantasia).
“This tune was one of the first songs to stay in our head, and soon in yours too, one of the songs that undoubtedly had to be on the album. Melodic, heavy with a dose of epic choruses but simple. It was always one of our favorites, but thanks to Herbie Langhans and his outstanding performance he has elevated it to a level that is hard to beat. We think we have all managed to capture in it our strength, desire, and enthusiasm for this new adventure we are starting.” says Adrián Carrero.

After a two-year down period and revamped line-up, LiV SiN, led by Sister Sin vocalist Liv Jagrell, released last Friday, January 27th, their new album, “KaliYuga”. The album title refers to the fourth of the four “Yugas” in Hinduism, the era precisely dedicated to the present age, full of conflict and… sin. The theme of Kali Yuga was also reflected in the Swedish band writing process.
“Since we produced this album ourselves, we definitely tried out a lot of new things, and I confess, I went a bit crazy with the vocals in certain parts”, Liv declares.
Musically, “KaliYuga” is LiV SiN, on steroids! Jagrell explains how the creative process developed into an energetic and varied set of songs: “We took influences from everywhere, from newer metal acts such as Architects, Parkway Drive to vocal inspiration from King Diamond. I am ecstatic with the outcome”.
With such an album in hands, LiV SiN could only pick a production team that would do justice to the songs. Simon Johansson (from Wolf and Memory Garden fame) and Mike Wead (King Diamond and Mercyful Fate axeman) were summoned to record the album, while the mix and mastering duties were delivered to console-wizard Tue Madsen (Witchery, The Haunted, At The Gates, etc). A winning team for a strong and cohesive album that kicks off 2023 in a true heavy way.

Back in 2016 vocalist Liv Jagrell, known worldwide as the frontwoman for Sister Sin, let the music world know that she had formed a new band. LiV SiN, driven by massive guitar riffs and a heavy modern metal sound released their debut album “Follow Me” in 2017. Their second album, “Burning Sermons” was released in 2019. Both albums spawned multiple popular singles such as “Let me Out” and “Blood Moon Fever”.
Fast forward to 2023. LiV SiN is now completely recharged and ready to hit the stages again, backed up by their most ambitious album to date.

SEX PISTOLS bassist and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Glen Matlock has inked a worldwide deal with Cooking Vinyl, which will see the label release Glen’s long-awaited solo album Consequences Coming on April 27, 2023.

Glen Matlock is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with a highly-esteemed resume. The original bassist and songwriter of the Sex Pistols, Matlock is responsible for co-penning some of history’s most iconic songs, “Anarchy In The UK,” “God Save The Queen” and “Pretty Vacant”. After his time with The Sex Pistols, Matlock went on to form several well-regarded bands including Rich Kids (with Midge Ure). He has collaborated with such artists as Iggy Pop, and Primal Scream, and is also a highly in-demand player, playing live with the likes of the legendary reformed Faces. Additionally, Glen is currently the touring bass player for New York legends Blondie and is slated to appear on their forthcoming new 2023 studio album.
His persona these days may be that of a stylish rock gent, but as always the former icon of punk remains politically passionate. This album is nothing short of Glen’s call to arms to tackle this current diabolical period of governance. Says Matlock on the “Head On A Stick” single, “Peeved at the predictable but ultimately pointless political lurch to the right that has happened in the West over the past few years. I put pen to paper and plectrum to guitar to compose a song that’s a call to arms, a wake up alarm and primal open-your-eyes scream.”
Glen continues, “It might be easy to be wise after the event but some saw where we were headed and, in the words of ‘Pete Seeger,’ attempted to hammer out a warning. We always thought it can’t happen here but it sadly most definitely has and heads should justifiably roll…”
A music video for the track is now available online. “The video was shot on the fly one afternoon in between touring dates with Blondie in the UK.” states Matlock. “The guys who play on the forthcoming album all jumped at the chance to back me up in the video, and help get this pertinent point across about the parlous state of our present position.”

“The album was written and recorded in Britain over the last 18 months or so with a posse of seasoned but on point performers.” says Matlock. “All done during the debacle that is Brexit and the rise and fall of the turgid Trump episode in the US. These songs reflect my take on the whole sorry mess that has ensued.”
Matlock elaborates on the album, “Now the wheels of the music business can sometimes move at a lugubrious, glacial pace, and sometimes the moment might be lost but seeing no break in the clouds or clear light at the end of the tunnel, surely the only demand on people’s lips should be that there are ‘Consequences Coming’ for the fat headed oafs who have foisted their asinine warped sensibilities on us.”

Matlock’s deal with Cooking Vinyl will also see the label re-release two of his previous solo albums: 2010’s Born Running, and 2018’s critically acclaimed Good To Go.
VEILED are one of the UK’s newest forces of sonic brutality, whose uncompromising and unrelenting sound quickly earned them a deal with US label Seek and Strike.
