Following the band’s recent announcement, to release their forthcoming, eighth studio offering I Am The Storm on March 17, 2023 through AFM Records, today, Los Angeles-based progressive metal masters Redemption have unleashed a brand new single! By the end of 2022, the band already shared a first album foretaste with a music video for the colossal album title track I Am The Storm.

Band mastermind Nicolas van Dyk reveals: “If I Am The Storm showcases the heaviest aspect of Redemption, Seven Minutes From Sunset showcases a more melodic metal current of prog metal, as Someone Else’s Problem did on our last CD. As for the lyrics…they’re a metaphor. For the listener to decipher.”

Get the song on all digital platforms HERE!

Redemption belongs to one of the leading progressive metal bands in the heavy music world today. Formed in Los Angeles, California in 2000 by guitarist / keyboardist / songwriter Nicolas van Dyk, the band features iconic vocalist Thomas England of Evergrey, the rhythm section of Chris Quirarte (drums) and bassist Sean Andrews, as well as keyboard phenom Vikram Shankar.

As the album title already promises, I Am The Storm is a gripping, stirring, overwhelming and dramatic, new record by the power prog metal act. Combining unapologetic melodies and hooks with technicality, complexity and thundering riffs, Redemption once again occupies a unique place with its powerful, heavy, intelligent and deeply emotional music.

I Am The Storm was produced by van Dyk, Vikram Shankar and sound engineer/guitarist Simone Mularoni (DGM), who – alongside Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth) and Henrik Danhage (Evergrey) – will be also featured as a guest musician on the album. The new Redemption record also contains two cover songs, ‘Turn It On Again’ by Genesis and ‘Red Rain’ by Peter Gabriel.

Set to be released on March 17, 2023 via AFM Records, the album pre-sale has just started at THIS LOCATION!

About MAN MUST DIE:
Formed in Glasgow Scotland in 2002 as a project and quickly signed to Retribute Records in 2003, releasing their first album in 2004 entitled …start killing. Recorded in a low budget studio in Clydebank, Scotland with producer JF Dagenais making the long trip from Quebec to record/produce. Some extensive UK touring followed and the band the went on to become the first UK band ever to sign to US label Relapse Records in 2006, a 2 album deal was done and the first offering the Human Condition (2007) propelled the band onto the European stage with tours alongside Kataklysm, Aborted, Macabre, and misery index. The human condition also saw the band travel to Canada for a month long stay to record once again with JF Dagenais (Kataklysm) for an unforgettable adventure.

It was in 2009 when Man Must Die released what was their breakthrough album No Tolerance for Imperfection, recorded by Scott”the terminator”Atkins in England,UK. Featuring the tracks “Kill it skin it wear it”and “it Comes in threes” which will always be mainstays in the MMD setlists. On the back of this release MMD toured with the likes of Machine Head, Hatebreed, Exodus, Decapitated and Kataklysm.

Some years of set backs with Band members and life in general slowed progression after this release, some line up changes and the band was back in the studio in 2012 to record their 4th album Peace was never an option. At this point only the founding members Joe and Alan (the MMD writers) remained. The album was recorded By Micheal “Raphone” Allan (now the second guitarist in MMD) in a beaten up studio in the back of beyond in the east of Scotland. The Album was released in the UK with Grindscene records and in the Europe/world wide by Lifeforce records in Germany.

Now 8 years on Man Must Die are coming back with their angriest offering yet, with the most solid line up they ever had and the addition of a permanent second guitarist for the first time, and an insane Italian sticksman. Signing up with most exciting and innovating new label Distortion Music Group. MMD will once again bring the fight but in a bigger way than ever….

About the album:
In Blood, O.S.I. have succeeded in creating a fascinating album at the crossroads between rock and progressive metal. Music that alternates between atmospherically dense and aggressively demanding elements, while effortlessly transcending barriers between different styles and genres. Following its impressive predecessors, Office Of Strategic Influence (2003) and Free (2006), Blood is the third release by Kevin Moore and Jim Matheos. O.S.I. unites two exceptional composers who share their penchant for the unusual and are on the same artistic wavelength. “We have different musical tastes but an unspoken musical understanding” Moore enthuses.

The creative process which produced Blood lasted more than a year. In their now familiar long distance collaboration Matheos sent his ideas via email to Moore, who honed them to his own taste before mailing the results back to Matheos. At the end of the day, some pieces were sent back and forth countless times, while others, such as the pulsating metal track ‘Be The Hero’, required very little exchange. “When Jim sent me his tracks, I had a vocal idea right away. I think it all came together in a couple of days. I love when Jim sends really heavy ideas, and he doesn’t mind me chopping them up. It was fun to play around with the time signatures by editing, and adding a lot of Minimoog effects and unison lines.“

Along with Moore and Matheos, Blood features Porcupine Tree drummer Gavin Harrison. There’s also a guest appearance by Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) on ‘Stockholm’, which the Swedish musician composed together with the two O.S.I. masterminds. “I think it was Kevin’s idea to have a guest vocalist. He asked me if I had any suggestions and I immediately thought of Mikael,” Matheos explains. “It was Mikael’s choice, we gave him several songs to pick from. Mikael wrote the lyrics and melody and recorded his parts at home in Sweden.“

Moore and Matheos took care of the album’s production themselves, while the mix was done with Grammy winner Phil Magnotti.

Blood is an ambitious album recorded by real masters of their trade, for people with a taste for the above-average.

Finnish newcomers HORIZON IGNITED wrapped up an incredible 6-week European tour last autumn, where they supported HYPOCRISY alongside SEPTICFLESH and THE AGONIST, picking up new fans in droves along the way.

Today, the band are pleased to release a new single ‘Carry Me’, which has only previously been included on the vinyl version of their latest album Towards The Dying Lands (released in July 2022).

The band comments on the song:
“When we released our second album Towards The Dying Lands, there was one song that was included only as a vinyl exclusive. It’s a brilliant track with a huge bridge and we decided to play it live during our first ever European tour with Hypocrisy. We quickly noticed that it works in a live setting as well and since then we have all fallen deeply in love with the track, so it brings me much joy to announce the digital release of ‘Carry Me’!
We hope that this track pleases our fans as much as it pleases us and we can’t wait to play it live again.”

The clock is ticking: On February 10th, Swedish modern metal visionaries IN FLAMES release their fourteenth studio album Foregone – the new masterpiece from a band whose artistry and influence on modern metal is undeniable.

Today, IN FLAMES release the fifth single from Foregone: “Meet Your Maker” is a pulsating track with hypnotizing power and furious anger. Like a raw nerve exposed, the song speaks of the desperation and frustration brought on by the chaotic dystopia of post-pandemic society.

Frontman Anders Fridén states, “When we started to write for Foregone, Meet Your Maker became the song that set the tone in terms of what we were aiming for sonically as well as thematically. You’ll see it’s everything you’ve come to expect from In flames and some. Enjoy and see you on the road in 2023!”

IN FLAMES’ fourteenth studio album, Foregone, arrives via Nuclear Blast on February 10, 2023. Pre-order it here: https://inflames.bfan.link/foregone-newalbum

The new single comes with an outstanding video that features the bands impressive performance skills. You can watch the video here:

Following the successful return of their own festival, Dalhalla Brinner, IN FLAMES recently announced an extended edition of the event for the next year: Dalhalla Brinner 2023 will take place on August 25th and 26th in Dalhalla, Sweden. Aside from the host band, the lineup will feature special guests that will be announced soon.
