SAXON Release First Single ‘The Faith Healer’, Announce New Live Dates

British Heavy Metal legends SAXON unveil the first single, “The Faith Healer”, from upcoming, More Inspirations – set for release on March 24th via Silver Lining Music.

Following the release of Inspirations in 2021, More Inspirations is the second ‘deep dish’ serving of the influences which have fed the mighty Saxon’s immensely successful 40+ year career. The first single is an astonishing take on The Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s “The Faith Healer”.

Frontman Biff Byford comments “We used to see The Sensational Alex Harvey band play this back in the day, they started the set with it, such a fantastic song and fantastic band… big influence!”

Listen To/Watch “The Faith Healer”, the “making of” video directed by Jay Shredder at this location.

Whether getting feral with The Animal’s “We’ve Gotta Get Out Of This Place”, letting loose a high-octane take on Alice Cooper’s “From The Inside”, or laying down a ferocious tribute to KISS’ “Detroit Rock City”, More Inspirations is a joyous trip into the sounds which galvanized the Barnsley boys and continue to get spun on home stereos and tour buses.

Produced by vocalist/co-founder Biff Byford, with Seb Byford helping record the music alongside mixing engineer Jacky Lehmann, More Inspirations also includes enthusiastic takes on Alice Cooper, Rainbow, ZZ Top and Cream, as well as a thunderous “Razamanaz” by Nazareth, a tasty take on The Who’s “Substitute”, and a thick groove take on Uriah Heep’s “Gypsy”. Whether this is your first dance with such classic songs, or you’ve come to see where Saxon were born, More Inspirations delivers the goods and then some.

Following the success of the Seize the World Tour 2022, Saxon will be back on the road in March 2023 for a string of European dates, with special guest’s German metal titans RAGE. For a full list of confirmed dates, tickets, and additional information visit this this location.

FATAL EMBRACE Release New Single ‘The Black Oath’

Swedish blackened death metal veterans Fatal Embrace will release their brand new full-length record, entitled “Manifestum Infernalis”, on March 24th via Black Lion Records. “Manifestum Infernalis” is the band’s long awaited first new work since 1997, and even though many years have passed, that doesn’t change the fact that Fatal Embrace are “hungrier than ever and super excited to write, record and release new music again!“

Fatal Embrace on the new album:

“It’s been a long time coming. 30 years have passed since we formed Fatal Embrace back in 1992. It took us 30 years to make the album we always wanted to make. Everything on this album is done by ourselves. Everything. The process of making this album has taken almost 5 years of our lives and a lot has happened during this time. The world seemed to grow darker and darker around us as a pandemic descended upon the world. All this made for an inspiring time to write and record music.
This is by far the darkest creation ever from Fatal Embrace and the darker the album became, the more it felt like therapy. A creative channel for when everything in the world takes a turn for the worse and keeps going south.”

In support of the soon to be released album, Fatal Embrace have released the brand new single “The Black Oath”. Listen to the track here:

Fatal Embrace comments:

“This was one of the earlier songs we wrote for this album. It became the song we wanted the rest of the album to measure up against. It contains all the elements of what makes up the dna of our music. Melodic black metal with frantic passages combined with some symphonics thrown into the mix. This was the song that made us realise we wanted to move closer to blackened metal than in our early days. For us this was a very natural transformation and we are really pleased with the outcome of The Black Oath.”

“Manifestum Infernalis” was recorded, mixed, produced and mastered in Studiomega by Christian Silver and Fatal Embrace. Album artwork by Moon Sang. Layout and design by Andreas Johansson and Marcos Cerutti. The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

Tracklist:

  1. Empyreal Doom

Indonesian DEPRAVED MURDER to Release New Album “Unethical Terrestrial Collapse” on March 10th

Rising once more from the bubbling toxic poison pit of the Indonesian brutal death metal scene, East Java’s DEPRAVED MURDER have returned with another onslaught of putridity and pestilence. Nine new apocryphal hymns, dire portents of imminent destruction underscored by skin flaying blasts and riffs to tear apart the fabric of existence – on March 10th the world faces Unethical Terrestrial Collapse!

Nearly four years since Depraved Murder subjected us to the haunting horrors of Manifestation, the time has come to peer again into the sickening, morality mauling inferno that only this band can create. With Unethical Terrestrial Collapse, Depraved Murder have carved out a sanity shredding sepulchre of flesh; wickedly inventive beyond the blunt force trauma of Manifestation. The guitars twist and thrash in crippling contortions, summoning a pall of darkness only to tear through the gathered shadows with solos like bloody scythes. The drums rampage through an array of punishing tempos, thundering at speeds beyond comprehension then dragging the listener down into a choking swamp of gore, while above it all a voice of demons roars of pain and subjugation, of torture unimaginable and the end of the fucking world. With tracks like ‘The Pinnacle Of Vile Conceit’, ‘Relentless Brutality’ and ‘False Adoration’ Depraved Murder have created a new intensity of soul shaking nightmares.

Mixed and mastered by Indra Braille (Anthropophagus Depravity, Disintegration, Gerogot etc) and adorned in the insane imagery of Aghy Purakusuma (Insect Inside, Pure Wrath, Stillbirth etc) Unethical Terrestrial Collapse is the cacophonous accompaniment to every horror that 2023 has in store for our beleaguered planet. Marching once more beneath the banner of Comatose Music, Depraved Murder have returned to destroy!

Feel the diabolical force of Depraved Murder now at Slam Worldwide – where first single ‘The Anguish Of Dystopian’ is streaming now!

ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA Re-Release Remastered Self-Titled Debut Album Including Three Bonus Tracks

Probably THE finest 1990’s example of power/doom metal, this album has been lost in the sands of time until now: ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA‘s self-titled debut.

The brainchild of CANDLEMASS mastermind Leif Edling, would, in any other era, have taken the world by storm, but with the music press and radio obsessed with stuff like Nirvana and their ilk, it was near impossible to get coverage for an album even as strong as this debut. Leif had come up with a collection of songs that although had an undeniably link to his main band Candlemass, also gone in a more modern direction. Hard to classify and compare to other releases at the time, Abstrakt Algebra had a brilliant production and incredible riffs that were way ahead of it’s time. Featuring Mats Levén on vocals as well as Leif himself on bass, the bands lineup was completed by guitarists Mike Wead (King Diamond) and Simon Johansson (Wolf) and drummer Jejo Perkovic.

The re-issue has been remastered by Patrick W. Engel and packaged in a Digipack.

AVALAND to Release New Album “The Legend of the Storyteller” on March 31st

Posted by tarjavirmakari on January 16, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: AVALAND. Leave a comment

The mystical world of AVALAND return in 2023 with the fantasy symphonic power metal band’s sophomore full-length “The Legend of the Storyteller” due out on March 31st, 2023 via Rockshots Records following their 2021 debut “Theater of Sorcery”.

Compared to its predecessor, “The Legend Of The Storyteller” is heavier and is a much more epic power metal record full of anthems upon anthems for fans to chant to as they are taken on a journey over twelve theatric tracks. The record also hears double vocal duties from Adrien G. Gzagg and Jeff Kanji along with album guests that include Zak Stevens (ex-Savatage/TSO), Madie (ex-Nightmare/Faith In Agony), Pierre “Cara” Carabalona (Eltharia), Ivan Castelli (Lionsoul), Angèle Macabiès, Jens Ludwig (Edguy) and Bruno Ramos (Sortilège/ex-Manigance).

Lead by Adrien G. Gzagg (Autor/Composer/Lead Singer/Synths and Orchestrations), the album’s storyline is aprequel to the band’s first album “Theater of Sorcery” as he explains further:

“This album, as the first one, is a journey, a trip out of our world, into the universe of Avaland. We enjoy seeing Avaland as a great saga, as a movie, or series. We feel like listening to Avaland is like watching Game Of Thrones, The Lord Of The Rings, or reading comics, it’s an escape from everyday life. For this album, we took a lot of inspiration from Game Of Thrones and Arthurian Myths. We love fantasy and mythologies and we also find ourselves having a great fascination for alchemy and esoterism. Time is also a great subject, it’s mystical… in fact, time will be at the center of this saga. This new opus is showing a heavier and darker atmosphere of Avaland’s theatrical universe. Are you ready to be part of “The Legend Of The Storyteller”?”

Avaland‘s first single in support of “The Legend Of The Storyteller” is entitled “Crimson Tyranny” (feat. Cara, Madie & Zak Stevens).

“This song is the first one I composed for this album. It defines the atmosphere for this new album: darker than “Theater Of Sorcery”, but also more epic, especially with its mighty chorus (with some Blind Guardian influences). It’s a mind-sticking song, beware of this infernal hook “Crimson! Tyranny!”. The title of the song is a tribute to “In the Court of the Crimson King” by King Crimson.” adds Adrien G. Gzagg.
