The world’s only Glam Punk Goth ’n’ Roll outlaws GYPSY PISTOLEROS return with the first taste of their most ambitious album yet. “Dark Faerie Tales”, the lead single and title track from their forthcoming record, arrives January 23rd, 2026 via The New Church Records / Plastichead Distribution.
The single launches the next chapter for the cult renegades, whose last album Church of the Pistoleros was hailed as one of 2025’s most fearless rock releases. With Dark Faerie Tales, the band push their genre-defying vision into darker, grander territory — a glam-goth-punk fever dream forged in their own twisted mythology.
A FAIRYTALE FOR THE DAMNED Produced and co-written once again by sonic architect Dave Draper (Michael Monroe, Ginger Wildheart, The Wildhearts, Ryan Hamilton, Therapy?, Elvana), “Dark Faerie Tales” blends sleaze-soaked punk energy with gothic grandeur, flamenco fire, and apocalyptic glam swagger.
The track sets the tone for the full album, due April 17th, 2026 — a decadent and dangerous collection of tales for the beautiful, the broken, and the strange of heart.
The world’s only Glam Punk Goth ’n’ Roll outlaws return with their most ambitious and eclectic album yet — ‘Dark Faerie Tales’, out April 17th, 2026 on The New Church Records / Plastichead Distribution.

Following the success of Church of the Pistoleros — hailed as one of 2025’s most fearless and eclectic rock albums — the Pistoleros have conjured something even bolder: a dark fairytale for the damned, a love letter to the beautiful and broken, and a twisted hymn for the strange of heart.
Born from the fires of their own mythology, Dark Faerie Tales drifts through haunted woods and neon dreams — where sleaze-drenched punk anthems meet gothic grandeur, and glam swagger burns with outlaw soul. Produced and co-written once again by sonic alchemist Dave Draper (Michael Monroe, Ginger Wildheart, The Wildhearts, Ryan Hamilton, Elvana, Therapy, etc), it’s a record that breathes rebellion and myth.

Dark Faerie Tales – From Myth to Magic Once upon a twisted dusk, in a desert where gods had lost their names, stood the Church of the Pistoleros — built from shattered guitars, broken hearts, and outlaw fire. It burned… but from the ashes rose a new cult, born of chaos and dreaming in half-remembered hymns. Now, Gypsy Pistoleros sing under starlight in tangled woods where belief is rhythm, glitter, and spell work — legends in apocalyptic fur, crowned in scars, howling at the dark.
The Dark Faerie Tales begin — April 16th, 2026 at The Underworld
The Dandy Warhols have announced ‘Pin Ups’, a boldly curated covers album that pulls together years of reinterpretations, deep cuts and long-shelved recordings into one cohesive, era-spanning release.
Set for release on March 20, 2026, ‘Pin Ups’ finds the Portland icons reframing songs by artists who helped shape their musical DNA, including The Cure, Gang Of Four, The Clash, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Cramps, The Runaways and more.
Rather than a conventional covers record, ‘Pin Ups’ plays like a parallel history of The Dandy Warhols themselves. These are songs that followed the band across decades, territories and phases of their career, previously scattered across B-sides, tribute albums, bonus tracks and private hard drives. Now, for the first time, they are gathered together as a complete album. “We’ve been talking for years now about getting as many of the covers we’ve done for specific territories together and releasing them for all to hear. It’s finally happening,” says Zia McCabe
Released alongside the album announcement is the first single, a newly unveiled take on Violent Femmes’ ‘Kiss Off’. With McCabe stepping into the vocal spotlight, the band injects a sharp, bratty swagger into the track, set against a knowingly retro, mod-leaning backdrop. Access official video here: “I’m especially excited that we’re releasing our cover of ‘Kiss Off’ for the first time,” McCabe adds. “I can’t believe this gem has just been sitting on a hard drive for years.” “For reminiscing, this record is one of my favourites,” says Courtney Taylor-Taylor.
Across its three sides, ‘Pin Ups’ moves fluidly between reverence and reinvention. A surf-tinged Goo Goo Muck nods to The Cramps’ original menace, while Cherry Bomb becomes fizzing power-pop in Dandy hands. Their take on The Byrds’ You Ain’t Going Nowhere (Easy Chair) leans into back-porch warmth and Americana twang, while Primary captures the urgent pulse of early The Cure without losing the band’s trademark haze. “These are some of our favourite songs, or songs by our favourite bands, or just songs we admired,” explains Peter G. Holmström. “Some were never released, some were tucked away on obscure projects, but they all meant something to us.”
That sense of personal connection runs deep. Many of the artists covered are not just influences, but peers and friends. “Nearly every band we cover on here are friends of ours or artists we have had a meaningful experience with,” says Taylor-Taylor. “Looking over all the songs again however, I am noticing that we never met the artists from the 60s. Weird.”
The album arrives after a period of renewed creative momentum for The Dandy Warhols. Their 2024 release Rockmaker was widely hailed as one of the strongest records of their career, featuring guest appearances from Slash, Frank Black and Debbie Harry.
Its reimagined companion Rock ReMaker followed in 2025, further expanding the project’s sonic scope. The band have also twice performed with The Oregon Symphony, an experience Taylor-Taylor describes as transformative. “Playing with the Symphony set the bar for how much emotional and psychological power can be achieved with live music. Nothing compares to us playing with the Symphony.”
‘Pin Ups’ stands as both a celebration and a statement. It is a love letter to the songs that shaped them, a document of shared history, and a reminder that The Dandy Warhols remain as curious, playful and musically restless as ever.
The Dandy Warhols are Courtney Taylor-Taylor on vocals and guitar, Peter G. Holmström on guitar and keyboards, Zia McCabe on keyboards, bass and percussion, and Brent DeBoer on drums and backing vocals.
‘Pin Ups’ will be released on vinyl, CD and digital formats on March 20, 2026. An exclusive vinyl edition is available to pre-order now via the band’s official Bandcamp page at https://thedandywarholsofficial.bandcamp.com/album/pin-ups.

On time with their monthly rendezvous with fans since the first single release, here comes another video from „Babylon“: DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG have unveiled the new visual for ‘Propaganda’, one of the most high-energy tracks from their latest album, released on October 3rd, 2025 through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). While the song has already made its mark on the album, the video now adds the visual dimension to its uncompromising power.
‘Propaganda’ is a rousing song in typical double bass drum style that barely gives you time to breathe. After an aggressive guitar intro and a sublime guitar riff, the highlights follow in rapid succession: Udo Dirkschneider and Peter Baltes shine with their polyphonic choir type vocals which alternate with two-part guitar licks, while the chorus screams the entire media-critical message of the lyrics out into the world.
Manuela “Ella” Bibert supports all this with her solo vocal interludes as well as with a harsh and intensely played Hammond organ. As if that weren’t enough, a guitar solo follows a hymn-type vocal part, which culminates in a harmony battle with the organ. The seventies and eighties send their regards!
DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG (DATOG) was originally launched in 2020 as a one-off charity project, but quickly developed a momentum of its own and formed into a band consisting of Udo Dirkschneider (vocals; ACCEPT/U.D.O./DIRKSCHNEIDER), Peter Baltes (bass, vocals; ACCEPT/U.D.O./DIRKSCHNEIDER), Stefan Kaufmann (guitar; ACCEPT/U.D.O.), Mathias “Don” Dieth (guitar; SINNER/U.D.O.), Sven Dirkschneider (drums; U.D.O./DIRKSCHNEIDER) and Manuela “Ella” Bibert (vocals). Between 2020 and 2021 their first three singles attracted a lot of attention, whereupon the band wrote more songs and recorded their debut album. With a unique vocal concept of three voices, powerful riffs and stylistic complexity, DATOG combine classic heavy metal with a modern, powerful production.
DATOG are: Udo Dirkschneider | lead vocals Peter Baltes | bass, lead & backing vocals Manuela “Ella” Bibert | lead & backing vocals, keys Stefan Kaufmann | guitars, backing vocals Mathias “Don” Dieth | guitars, backing vocals Sven Dirkschneider | drums, backing vocals
South African heavy rock outfit RUFF MAJIK return with Can Of Wyrms, a stark and emotionally unguarded single that confronts suicide from the perspective of those left behind.
Rather than romanticizing loss or framing it through spectacle, Can Of Wyrms documents grief as an ongoing presence — unresolved, heavy, and communal. The song was written years ago, but only now finds its moment, arriving as the band re-emerge after a period marked by silence, distance, and personal reckoning.
Frontman Johni Holiday has previously spoken openly about PTSD, agoraphobia, and cycles of dependency formed while touring — struggles that ultimately led to Ruff Majik stepping away before the weight became fatal. That pause, and the clarity it forced, directly informs the song’s restraint. Can Of Wyrms does not seek answers. It acknowledges absence, as well as the battle waged by those in the thick of it.
Musically, the track balances Ruff Majik’s stoner-punk urgency with a raw yet anthemic vulnerability. Gang vocals — recorded with friends and members of the South African underground music community — form the emotional core of the song, reinforcing its central idea: this grief is shared, not isolated.
The single also features guest vocals by Ben from Slomosa, adding a further layer of communal voice and international solidarity to a deeply personal release.
All proceeds from Can Of Wyrms, including associated merchandise, will be directed toward mental-health support initiatives.
The release coincides with Ruff Majik’s first live performance (31 January, Pretoria, South Africa) , since their hiatus — not framed as a victory lap, but as a statement of intent. In the band’s own words: “There is work to be done.”
Can Of Wyrms is not a eulogy. It is a warning, a remembrance, and a refusal to buckle under the pressures of the world.
This single is currently available on BandCamp only, and will be released on all other platforms on 16 January 2026. The band will take no requests for press until the first phase is complete.
