HURRICANE ON SATURN, the mysterious quintet has released the official visualizer for their latest track “Pollute The Mainstream.” The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album “φnx” and promises to explore further the madness outside of the boundaries of musical styles with an even darker and angrier attitude.
Hurricane On Saturn emerged in 2019 with a unique “out of genres” approach, combining pure epic EDM, larger-than-life rock, razor-sharp metal, rap, and furious post-hardcore with memorable melodies, strongly recognizable visual imagery, and an inimitable style of lyrics.
In 2022, Hurricane On Saturn sets its return to the scene with a new controversial hit “Monsters” featuring Deuce (Hollywood Undead, 9lives), and announces the second album “φnx”.
Fans can expect an album that pushes the boundaries of genre and challenges listeners to explore the madness and anger that lies beyond the mainstream.
New Jersey sludge and noise band SUNROT has today announced their second album, and first under the Prosthetic Records banner, The Unfailing Rope – due out on April 7. Alongside the album announcement SUNROT has also shared a music video for lead single Gutter, which features additional vocals and lyric contributions from Bryan Funck (Thou) & Emily McWilliams (Silver Godling).
Of the album announcement, Ross Bradley (bass) comments: “The Unfailing Rope is a document of grief and hope to reflect our current moment. This record was created while we firsthand experienced our city come to a reckoning with its people. Our planet being irreparably eroded, our communities being killed. But also a time where more people than ever are ready to fight back. A time where the most pain has also birthed the most righteous anger and action. The Unfailing Rope is the mantra of light and the path to death.”
On Gutter, Bradley adds: “Gutter is, likewise, a track full of grief and hope. Ecological genocide, like the proposed “cop city” destroying Atlanta forests, is more and more commonplace. The insatiable maw of colonialism and capitalism is driven toward ending life on earth for profit and will not stop unless we stop it. We believe that the land belongs to its indigenous keepers and must be ceded back to their stewardship. Gutter is a plea for action and an expression of hope that a better world is possible, and maybe not even just possible, but inevitable, if that’s what we choose.”
At times The Unfailing Rope seemed to be a cursed project; recorded no less than three times before hitting the jackpot with its final iteration, completing the record was a hard-fought battle. Vocalist Lex Santiago was hospitalised between the first and second recordings, suffering from a psychotic episode. Although it may have seemed like an albatross around their necks, The Unfailing Rope eventually provided salvation and catharsis for SUNROT in ways they had never anticipated.
Reflecting on the difficulties they overcame collectively to reach a point where the album was fit for release, the band are resolute in finding joy in the debris of the experience. Whilst the musical output is gritty, venomous and far beyond heavy, it is healing, acceptance and forgiveness that is at the heart of what drives SUNROT forward as a band. Coupled with a DIY ethos that connects them firmly to their roots, SUNROT are determined to be a force for good, despite the pain and darkness embedded in their music.
The third and final recording was captured by Scot Moriarty at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, New Jersey, and later mastered by Magnus Lindberg of Cult of Luna. The trial and error of earlier sessions led to a more precise execution of their vision, a more confident approach and a ultimately more live and organic sounding record than they’d originally anticipated. Their take on sludge is adrenalised by the addition of samples, noise and experimentalism. With guest musicians including Bryan Funck, Emily McWilliams, and Blake Harrison (Pig Destroyer) adding embellishments to the core SUNROT sound, the final result is electrifying.
SUNROT is very much a product of its environment; The Unfailing Rope an anthology of the lived experiences of authors. From the micro to the macro, personal to political, every scar, every tale is etched into the fabric of The Unfailing Rope with unflinching detail. SUNROT keen to stress that for all of the trauma, loss and catharsis, joy is only just below the surface.
The Unfailing Rope tracklist: 1. Descent 2. Trepanation 3. Gutter 4. The One You Feed 5. The Cull 6. Patricide 7. Tower of Silence 8. Love
SUNROT is: Christopher Eustaquio (he/him) – guitar Rob Gonzalez (he/him) – guitar Lex Santiago (he/they) – vocals & noise Alex Dobrowolski (they/them) – drums Ross Bradley (he/him) – bass

Summer of 2022 saw the debut release of PATRIARCHS IN BLACK “Reach For The Scars”. Featuring former Type O Negative (and current Quiet Riot) drummer Johnny Kelly and former Hades/Non-Fiction guitarist Dan Lorenzo the album featured multiple guest vocalists and bassists. Kelly and Lorenzo are already working on a dozen originals for their next release, but recently recorded a rarely covered Led Zeppelin song ‘Friends’ with vocals by special guest Militia Vox.
Kelly stated, “Militia crushed Friends! She was the first person who came to mind when Dan and I were discussing vocalists. I’m glad we were able to get her for it!” Lorenzo added, “Way before I was REALLY into Led Zeppelin, I remember thinking Friends was one of the most evil sounding songs I’d ever heard. How can an acoustic guitar sound so HEAVY? I saw Militia sing with her band Judas Priestess in Brooklyn a few years ago and I was blown away by her voice.”
Militia Vox continued, “As a singer, I love doing features on songs- it gives me so much freedom to work with a variety of different artists that I adore and float between different vocal styles. I’ve known both Johnny Kelly and Dan Lorenzo for years, so this collaboration is very special to me. My father raised me on Zeppelin so it was definitely long overdue to record something from Zeppelin’s extensive catalog. I think we did it in a cool and unique way- still serving the original while making it our own.”
The song came out digitally today and there is also a video by Craig Cefola at the MDD YouTube Channel.

METAL CHURCH have announced, via their official Facebook Page, their new lead vocalist, Marc Lopes (ROSS THE BOSS , LET US PREY):
Yes, the rumors are true, it’s official! Please welcome vocalist Marc Lopes to the congregation! We auditioned a handful of vocalists and while they were all great, Marc quickly became the clear choice. Both David Wayne and Mike Howe had a very unique, irreplaceable quality to their voices, so we were not looking for a clone of either. We wanted someone new, who could embrace the past, and also bring something fresh and exciting to the mix. Marc brings a very classic yet modern feel to the songs and we are looking forward to getting this new album out to you later this year! Thank you for your continued support of Metal Church! Love & respect, Kurdt Vanderhoof
It is unlikely that we will ever see another figure who towered over the rock/metal/punk rock scene like Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, an icon in every sense of the word, with his trademark handlebar moustache and patented mole-specked scowl. But we can continue to enjoy Lemmy’s music and his longtime friend and musical protégé, who replaced Lemmy as the bass player for Hawkwind, Alan “Boomer” Davey, is making sure that the songs of his compatriot and mentor continue to be performed for every new generation of music lovers.
On January 20, 2018, Davey assembled an all-star band at the historic London Roundhouse featuring six-string slugger Neil Archer, who has worked with Robert Plant, and skin pounder Garry Bowler, who has played in Motörhead associated band Würzel to perform a monster tribute concert in Bristol. Dubbing themselves Ace Of Spades, the group put together a face-smashing, hard driving set of Motörhead classics from “Overkill” to “Bomber” to “Ace Of Spades” and performed them for a clearly thrilled audience.
The result is Born To Booze, Live To Sin – A Tribute Motörhead, a killer concert album that is being released on all major formats including CD and vinyl starting March 3. As a special preview, the set’s opening number, the brutal “Iron Fist,” is being released as a standalone digital single to give fans a taste for what’s in store.
Alan Davey shared these thoughts about the show, “It wasn’t my plan to do an Ace of Spades UK tour as my last before I immigrated to America but once word got out I was going I had hundreds of messages from Motörhead fans asking me to do it so they could experience that distinctive Lemmy sound one more time. Lem has told many I’m the only one who can nail his sound and style. I wasn’t gonna deny the fans or Lemmy’s memory that, so I set up a 20 date tour and it was a huge success. Some people were in tears during the gigs showing just how much Lemmy was loved. RIP BassBrö.”
