THE ANSWER Release Music Video for New Single ‘Blood Brother’

On October 14th, Northern Irish rockers THE ANSWER are set to make a spectacular and long-awaited return with their first studio single for almost seven years, ‘Blood Brother’. The band are delighted to give you the first listen to this fabulous track with their new video, released today.

The new track titled ‘Blood Brother’ has been produced and mixed by rising British rock producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow) and will precede the bands comeback performance as special guests at the Planet Rockstock festival, Dec 3rd where fans will get their first taste of The Answer for a very long time with classic catalogue tracks as well as the latest music from their soon to be released new 7th studio album.

In support of this, the band have also announced a very special run of limited capacity UK and European album shows in March 2023 which will showcase the complete new album as well as classic The Answer tracks.

The new single ‘Blood Brother’ is power-keg anthem which sees the band hark back to their early 2006 sound but produced with a very contemporary alternative rock twist. It showcases a pounding minimalist rock groove with their trademark exceptional vocals from lead singer and front man Cormac Neeson. Says Neeson“Our new track Blood Brother is a thundering slab of positive energy created by four brothers who quite frankly just really missed each other. We’re back and we had more fun writing and recording this new music than we’ve ever had. We truly believe this could possibly be the best album we’ve ever recorded and Blood Brother is a very special track for us!”

Undeniably, The Answer have achieved a great deal in their career to be proud of.
 
Emerging into the rock world spotlight in 2005, their debut single Keep Believin’ became the subject of critical acclaim and led The Answer to the ‘Best New Band’ award at that year’s Classic Rock Awards. The following year, the young band consolidated that early promise with ‘Rise’, a debut album that received universally great reviews went on to sell over 125,000 copies worldwide on the independent Albert Productions rock label, a startling debut achievement.
 
The ensuing years saw the band cement their fearsome reputation, both as an astonishing live band and as rock’s brightest hopes, securing high profile support slots with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, and a two-year stint on AC/DC’s 2008 Black Ice tour, which took them around the world and into some of the biggest venues on the planet.
 
“We were thrown to the wolves a lot of nights on the road with AC/DC and all we had to fall back on was the four of us playing together” recalls mercurial guitar hero Paul Mahon. “We had to make it work and dig in really hard. It was an incredible rock baptism”.

In 2019, long time uber fan and international independent hard rock label Golden Robot founder, Mark Alexander-Erber, fulfilled a life-long ambition by signing The Answer to his Golden Robot Records to secure a brand-new 7th studio album, due for release in 2023; a record which, in the words of Alexander-Erber will be The Answers “greatest balls out straight ahead rock album ever’, eclipsing the debut of Rise for power, songs and sheer attitude. To say I am excited is an understatement, for me it’s a life-long ambition and  privilege to work with these guys”

AYREON Release New Lyric Video ‘And The Druids Turn To Stone’

AYREON and Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group will reissue Ayreon’s Universal Migrator Pt 1 & 2 (2022 Remixed and Remastered) on 18th November.

Today sees the release of the lyric video for And The Druids Turn To Stone.

“And the Druids Turn To Stone is my personal favourite track from the Ayreon Universe live shows. Mainly because of the amazing vocal performance of my talented friend Damian Wilson. I still remember that back when I sent him the demo for this song, he wasn’t totally convinced. Maybe in part because of the dangerously-close-to-Spinal-Tap lyrics about Stonehenge. Haha! But man, he surely elevated this song to great heights, showing off all aspects of his versatile and distinctive voice. In the re-mixed version I tried to make the track sound more transparent and bring every little subtlety to the surface. Hope I succeeded!”

It will be released on multiple formats – 1) A limited edition 56-page artbook including a 40-page comic, exclusive images of “the process”, 5 CDs (including previously unreleased audio) and a bonus DVD with 5.1 surround mix, 2 binaural headphone mixes and more. 2) A vinyl box set with 4 LPs on marble vinyl in 2 gatefolds, a 40-page comic book, a bonus DVD, a double-sided poster and a sticker sheet. The vinyl box set is limited to 1000 numbered copies web shop exclusive). 3) 2CD + Bonus CD. Additionally, “The Dream Sequencer” and “Flight of the Migrator” are available separately on 180-gram transparent vinyl and digitally on all platforms. The bonus CD will feature an hour of previously unreleased material, ranging from versions of the tracks with different (guide) vocals to entirely new (well, old) tracks that didn’t make the albums and were previously never released.

When approaching the considerable task of remixing and remastering the albums, Arjen had to dig through his attic and unearth his ADAT recorder and all the old 8-track ADAT tapes. He then had to import the audio of all 70 tapes (40 minutes each) into the computer. Not a job for the faint of heart!” he says. “But once I was remixing, I enjoyed revisiting the recordings and all the memories that came up as I worked.”

Arjen Lucassen continues his crusade of remixing and remastering his finest work to absolute perfection and Universal Migrator, Pt. I & 2 (2022 Remixed & Remastered) is a stunning addition to his spectacular cannon. Launching in early 2021, ONE LAST DAY are a modern hard rock act coming out of the South-East of England. A heavy and emotive band, their musicality is left wide open to a myriad of rock styles all wrapped up into their own distinctive sound. The band are a powerhouse live act, performing near sellout shows, growing a loyal legion of followers at each gig and getting invited to play increasingly larger shows across the UK.

ONE LAST DAY deliver heavy yet accessible music, combining an eclectic symphony of influences from Hard Rock to Grunge and Metal. This was demonstrated in their debut EP ‘CHAPTER 1: THE END IS THE BEGINNING’ which featured seven gargantuan tracks, including the successful single ‘THIS BOTTLE GOT ME’. From prog stylings to rock ballads, the EP is sure to sate the appetite of those wanting to hear more from this fresh and exciting band. The EP was produced by the band themselves, with mixing and mastering done by IgniteAMR.

It’s an interesting time to be setting out in the industry but ONE LAST DAY have accepted the challenge. These guys have already torn up stages from The Underworld, Camden and The Fleece, Bristol to The Fighting Cocks, Kingston and The Facebar, Reading. LIFE OF AGONY Announce River Runs Red 30th Anniversary Tour

Next year marks three decades since the release of LIFE OF AGONY‘s critically acclaimed and game-changing debut album, River Runs Red, on Roadrunner Records, and the group are celebrating this milestone with a 2023 world tour.

The first leg of Life of Agony’s 30 Years of River Runs Red tour kicks off in Europe with dates starting on Friday 13th January in Bochum, Germany and ending in Milton Keynes, England on 11th February. Main support will be fellow New York veterans Prong (EU) and Madball (UK), with rock duo Tarah Who? opening all dates.

“River Runs Red was an album that helped so many people get through some really dark times,” explains Life of Agony bassist Alan Robert. “It was raw, heavy, and extremely emotional when it dropped back in ’93. It is a complete honor and full circle experience for us to celebrate this moment with our longtime friends Prong and Madball, who were both there in the very beginning of the band’s history.”

Earlier this year, Life of Agony’s full-length documentary The Sound of Scars, directed by Leigh Brooks, was praised by fans as well as the media for taking a deep and personal look into the band members’ lives. Stories of domestic violence, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation came out through introspective interviews with the musicians themselves and their respective families. Finnish LEAFLET Release First Single ‘Gonna Do It’ from New Album “Something Beyond”, Out January 2023

Finnish rockers LEAFLET will be releasing their sophomore album “Something Beyond” this coming January 2023 via Rockshots Records. The album follows their debut album “Outta Door” released through VR Label Finland in 2017.

Today, the band is “Gonna Do It” and pull the trigger by giving fans the first single off their second full-length. The track is a hard riffing fist-pumping track to get you off your feet and rocking out!

The band comments about the track: “‘Gonna Do It’ is about the feeling of getting stuck in your life. You realize it is time for a change, and that it is your own duty to change the course of your life. Of course, there is a risk involved and it feels scary as hell, but you need to hear yourself saying: “Gonna do it”. ‘Gonna’ is the heaviest track we have written so far. We had several versions of it and ended up pretty much re-writing the whole song during the pre-production process. We are glad we did, because the end result sounds absolutely stunning with its monster opening riff, crushing chorus and epic guitar solo!”

Formed in 2013, LEAFLET is a four-piece hard rock band from Turku, Finland. Their music can be described as metal-infused American-style hard rock and while you might hear echoes of bands like Alter Bridge or Shinedown they have their own unique Nordic flavour. “Our musical cocktail is a blend of many things. Although we love the 80s, we are trying to keep our hard rock fresh and not follow the retro route”, the band says.

The band has performed on Finnish festivals such as Kuopiorock and Saaristo Open Air along with touring across their home country to support their debut album. They also spent time on the road in the Baltics with Willie & the Goodsouls in 2018 again playing clubs and festivals.

In 2019, LEAFLET released “Johnny Two-Face” as a single through VR Label Finland followed by an ambitious music video shot in both Turku, Finland, and Tokyo, Japan. After a couple of years of silence due to the pandemic, the band is now back with their second album “Something Beyond” to be released by Rockshots Records in January 2023, sounding stronger than ever.
