“Fallen” the new album by WALLS OF BABYLON is released now by Wanikiya Record, available in physical format (CD Audio) and in digital format on all the best music stores worldwide, on label’s official store and on showcase within Crash Sound Distribution and also available on the official store in Japan!
“Fallen” is a concept album about society collapsing due to a hidden gland within the human brain, “The Switch of God”. It generates a hormone shutting down rationality, releasing humans’ most brutal and feral impulses.
This overwhelming plague is called “The Fall”: the progressive annihilation of individualism, with humanity slowly turning into a productive chain, along with the exponential increase of carbon dioxide. Extinction is the last hope, with all mankind quickly turning into a self devouring cancer.
Band stated: Walls of Babilon is a project born at the end of 2013 and its purpose is to find a place in the metal scene with a sound mixed by etereogenic influences of its members: trash, black, punk rock, scandinavian death following the same guideline of the power and progressive metal. In 2015 was released “ the Dark Embrace”, the first work of the band, which provide dark sounds and catchy chorus to impress the features of the group from the beginning. 2018 was the year of the First international album “A Portrait of Memories” coming out thanks to Revalve Records. It’s a work that highlight a darker sound than the previous one but with an higher complexity of songwriting showing the path of growth of the band. The core of this project is contemporary to say the least: in 2020 was born “Fallen” which streches in a wide variety of genres between classic and progressive rock.

“Fade Away is a song I wrote about my mom who we lost in 2013. It’s a song about missing her, not being able to talk to her and if I was able to talk to her now, the advice she would give me and what would she say.” – Joanne Shaw Taylor

“Joanne Shaw Taylor continues her recent run of killer albums with a stunning new studio collection that is guaranteed to further widen her audience beyond the confines of blues rock.” – Blues in Britain
“With masses of crossover appeal, Nobody’s Fool has the potential to be huge. 13 years after her debut album she might well find herself the next overnight sensation.” – Record Collector
Joanne as born and raised in the UK and was discovered at the age of 16 by music icon Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. Right from the get-go, Joanne’s incredible guitar playing, and distinctive sultry vocals set her apart from the rest of the crowd.
Nobody’s Fool is her most personal album to date. Joanne’s writing lays bare love, loss, and the desire to be free of the past through the vessel of catchy hooks and infectious guitar riffs.
Her vocal style, writing prowess and guitar skills take the listener on a journey into the wasteland of love and back into the light of hope and redemption. Nobody’s Fool takes Joanne into new territory that can be described as retro pop with a modern flare, yet still encompasses the emotion of her blues roots.
“The title track opens the album and sets the mood with JST’s signature husky, soulful vocals embellished with some powerful guitar lines,” says Guitarist Magazine.
Joanne wrote all the songs on the album except “Missionary Man,” which is written by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics.
Joanne co-wrote “New Love” with Josh Smith, Calvin Turner, and Dylan Altman, “Then There’s You” with James House, “Fade Away” with Sharon Corbitt, and “The Leaving Kind” co-written with Joe Bonamassa, Leslie Satcher, and Beth Nielsen-Chapman (Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt).

HUGH CORNWELL returns with his sensational and highly anticipated tenth solo album Moments of Madness with ten outstanding tracks that are set to stun. The album is released Friday October 21, 2022. The album is available to pre-order from www.hughcornwell.com.

To dovetail with the new album, Hugh will embark on a 23-date Nationwide UK Tour from November 4 to December 6, 2022. Tickets are available from www.hughcornwell.com and www.thegigcartel.com.
Hugh has changed his Newcastle concert on Friday 18th November from Wylam Brewery to Northumbria University Students Union. All tickets for the Newcastle show remain valid.
Widely regarded as the poet laureate of the punk era (from his early career fronting the Stranglers to his transition as a solo artist), Hugh Cornwell has built a substantial and singular body of impressive solo albums. His tenth solo opus, Moments of Madness, continues his illustrious output by experimenting with musical genres as his enviable reputation as a wordsmith resounds across this album’s songs.
Self-produced, and playing all of the instruments himself, Moments of Madness’ ten incredible tracks finds Hugh flexing his musical muscles with a stripped down, offbeat, reverberating sixties vibe ringing from the seductive melodies and lyrically distinctive perceptions that are indelibly stamped with Hugh’s trademark imagination. Vocally and lyrically a career-best, Hugh has never sounded so good on his tenth solo album.
A high watermark and a modern-day masterpiece, Moments of Madness is being tipped as the most significant album of Hugh’s career.
Four years since his previous remarkable solo album Monster, the opener, and latest single, Coming Out of the Wilderness surfs an edgy and explosive sixties sound with a heavy Duane Eddy guitar twang as Hugh declares, “I’m coming out of the wilderness, learnt how to throw a bowie knife. Ran into fair-haired maiden’s out there but didn’t take no wife.”
On the new album, there is no mistaking Hugh’s distinctive vocals and lyrical mastery as the consummate storyteller. He returns with his inimitable observations on the art of survival in these challenging and turbulent times.
Says Hugh, “It’s like I’ve got a stew pot of sounds where I’ve put in a bit of Joe Meek, a bit of Lou Reed, a flavour of The Doors, a bit of this, a bit of that and I mix it all up and it tastes good. I’m like a cook when I make records in that I don’t follow any recipe.”
“I don’t mind different types of jewellery, show it to me, just feel free’, could be I’m missing the artistry” opines Hugh on Red Rose – a song about the bewildering trend for tattoos revealing a record of many gleaming lyrical gems.
Hugh’s ecological message on Too Much Trash also resonates loudly on another irritating topic close to his heart as he eviscerates the thoughtless actions of the devil may care consumer society who needlessly drop litter everywhere. “We’re heading for a crash. We got too much trash.”
The surreal carousel of psychedelic motifs spinning from this sixties stew of sonic moments (of madness) echo down the years as Cornwell delivers his unique humour in the pithy lyrics for a safe port in the storm close relationship on I WannaHideInsideAya.
Looking for You reveals a Jim Morrison inspired vocal over this song’s spooky atmospherics, and the semi-autobiographical and upbeat When I Was a Young Man opens a can of insightful, wistful emotions “As years go by and friends, they die they leave me living slow,” Hugh sombrely sings as he reflects upon his family and friends.
Hugh explains his motivation to the monumental title track Moments of Madness that musically adventures in mixing a dash of dub as he strums a lockdown rhythm to this devilish groove. ” The Clash did reggae so what’s wrong with me doing it? I loved playing the bass on this track.” On the album’s title track, Hugh’s lyrics again have a finger on the pulse of our times. “Looking like the fog’s gonna finally clear. Switch on all the lights at the end of the pier. Tidy up your makeup and shampoo your hair. Have a little party but nobody’s there.”
Moments of Madness is multi-layered with serious messages, acute analysis, and witty observations in fun-filled lyrical and musical eccentricity. On Lasagna Hugh tells the story about his Italian friends who live in Mexico and make the best lasagne he has ever tasted. As always, Cornwell communicates with a biting humour in all the right places.
Hugh’s cautionary tales about matters of the heart are revealed in his inimitable coded style on Beware of the Doll. “You think you’re listening to love. You’re sinking from a foot above.” And the more personal album closer Heartbreak at Seven which was the first song that Hugh recorded for this album. Illustrious, multi-talented and a legend, with Moments of Madness, Hugh Cornwell has produced a timely and thought-provoking masterpiece for our times.

Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to Former Accept members, vocalist David Reece and guitarist Herman Frank about their new band Iron Allies along with other topics.
Their debut album ‘Blood In Blood Out’ will be released on October 21st via AFM Records.
When asked how they started this band “One a half years ago, I wanted to form another band because it’s not that easy to find people that keep up with my pace. So David (Reece) was on my mind for a couple of years and then I just searched for him on Facebook and sent him a message. Hey David I’m planning on a new thing please give me a call and the next day David called. So we talked a little on the phone. I then sent him in the same week two or three of songs I wrote and he sent them back to me two days later with vocals. So I was overwhelmed and quite surprised by him sending me back the songs two days later. Three songs with nice Melodies and I said to myself, hey this is catchy, that’s the thing I want to do. So we started talking and that’s what happened. ” Herman Frank
When asked about the musical direction of the new album Blood In Blood Out “Herman Frank and I discussed after the three tracks that I turned over to him he (Herman) said you know Dave I really want to go traditional metal, that’s who I am I’m not gonna change who I am. I’m not gonna be modern metal and I’m like cool cool. Herman Franks in my opinion his riffs speak for themselves and the influence, obviously there’s Judas Priest in there, there’s a lot of stuff that he and I came up with to cut our teeth on. Herman style, my style I mean that that’s the only way I can kind of put it all in one basket. Herman was emphasizing you know Melody we gotta have Melody, so feel free to do what you do Dave and I’ll do what I do. But somehow it just glued together and I’m not going to question why sometimes things just work out. I was really getting tired of being in bands and a couple guys that we all know said Reece you need to go back and sing heavy, that’s what people expect from you. So after the U.D.O. tour (opening act) I realized the truth of it and so I’ve been kind of slowly going back into that.” David Reece
“I wanted to have an album which sounded real fresh, different to this to the stuff I’ve done before. I do love the combination of this heavy guitar sound and a little bit of this bluesy thing what David gives. It’s not just like screaming Heavy Metal like a lot of people do, there’s so much Melody and so much the way he pronounces the words. He’s (David) finding the melody, he starts a melody and then he builds up to the chorus, it’s just fantastic. It was one of the easiest things for me to work out an album. It just fitted from the start. In terms of lyrics Dave is the most talented poet in the Universe on my side.” -Herman Frank
On other topics
When asked about David Reece’s audition for Badlands after Singer Ray Gillen Left “They (Badlands) were thought that I was the guy and Jake (E Lee) you know was the boss and Ray (Gillen) I don’t know if he had passed yet or was at home at his mother’s, I don’t know, God bless him. But I had done a bunch of shows with Badlands and we’d open for them and Ray would always come in the dressing and put his arms around me and say dude damn dude you’re nailing it and I mean here’s Ray Gillen you know the guy was amazing. But Greg (Chaisson Badland’s Bassist) kept an eye on me and then when they kind of fizzled out. He called me one day and said come down to the rehearsal Studio I’ve told Jake about you and Jake he’s interested. So I went down there it was basically the three of us we waited three hours and Jake just opened the door, his hair in his face, cigarette burning his air cranked his Randalls (Amps) to ear bleeding volume, played to the set a few times and in those days I could do “High wire”(The Song) pretty easily. It went really well and Jake and I exchanged numbers and he’s a vampire. I mean the guy sleeps all day and the guy would call me at four o’clock in the morning. Hey man, I’d be like hello. Who’s this? Jake, dude what are you doing? Well I’m sleeping, what’s up? Then one night he called me and said I’ve changed my mind I’m gonna work with Mandy Lion and I’m gonna do a Prince meets Death metal project called World War III and I went okay……Yeah, Prince meets Death Metal I didn’t know what he was talking about and then he just kind of disappeared, I mean and that’s Jake. He’s a brilliant player but in and out. I think he said at rehearsal about five words and then he’d call me and just kind of mumble and then hang up. You know, it was never like do I get the gig? Or what’s going on? It was weird.” David Reece
Iron Allies, the new band of the two esteemed rock/metal gladiators who both once played with Accept, albeit at different times. Herman Frank and David Reece are the classic combination of song-writing guitarist and first-rate lyricist singer, a combination that, more than once, has caused a stir in music history. With drummer Francesco Jovino, bassist Malte Burkert and rhythm guitarist Mike Pesin, Herman and David have gathered like-minded, exceptionally talented forces around them.
Blood In Blood Out was recorded at renowned Horus Sound Studio in Hanover with co-producer Arne Neurand, and was mixed and mastered by Dennis Ward.
