BLOODBATH Drop Crushing New Single + Lyric Video ‘No God Before Me’

Sharpen your knives and prepare yourself for another BLOODBATH! Massive death metal beasts BLOODBATH are prepared to annihilate with their sixth full-length album, “Survival Of The Sickest”, out this Friday via Napalm Records. Vicious, unrelenting, and thrillingly violent, the critically-acclaimed, cult-followed band has no limitations, leaving the scene in shreds while skillfully fusing old-school Scandinavian harshness with a dose of Floridian U.S. death metal.

BLOODBATH have now revealed their most crushing track yet, “No God Before Me”, released alongside a brand new lyric video today! On this relentless offering, “Old Nick” Holmes and his bandmates crucify with a blasphemic explosion, ensnaring with a sinister churning riff while coalescing elements of death and doom metal. Boasting one of the album’s most hair-raising solos, “No God Before Me” is a prime example of the band’s triumphant evolution.

Jonas Renkse on “No God Before Me”:
“‘No God Before Me’ is a slow, churning hymn of death, a description of a godless afterlife as well as a massive nod to the masters of sickness themselves: Morbid Angel.”

The world is in flames, and “Survival Of The Sickest” – produced by BLOODBATH and co-produced and mixed by Lawrence Mackrory at Rorysound Studios – offers no respite from the horrors of reality.  Instead,   with   the   addition   of   new   guitarist   Tomas   ‘Plytet’   Åkvik   (Lik)   onboard, BLOODBATH’s latest and greatest album gleefully confronts the slavering ghoul lurking in the shadows, and treats him to ten songs of ripping death metal frenzy. Alongside BLOODBATH’s official alumni, “Survival Of The Sickest” boasts a smattering of irresistible cameos from the great, good and ghoulish of the metal underground, including Barney Greenway (Napalm Death), Luc Lemay (Gorguts) and Marc Grewe (Morgoth).

BLOODBATH add:
“If there was a declaration of goods attached to this album, it would say Florida death metal exported from Sweden.”

From the thuggish brain-smash of opener “Zombie Inferno” to the bleak, obsidian ooze of closer “No God Before Me”, “Survival Of The Sickest” is the sound of a great band in blistering form. In contrast with The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn, which borrowed heavily from the blackened end of the death metal world, the new BLOODBATH goes straight for the jugular in true old school fashion. With strong echoes of everything from Morbid Angel and Death to Deicide and Obituary, songs like the rampaging “Putrefying Corpse”, the disgustingly slow and heavy “Dead Parade”, and the deliciously twisted  “Tales Of Melting Flesh” breathe fresh fire into an arcane, perpetually rotting formula. Formed by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström (both of KATATONIA), Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) and Dan   Swanö   (Edge   Of   Sanity)   in  1998,  BLOODBATH devoted  themselves   to   resurrecting  the increasingly forgotten art of pure death metal. In 2014, they unveiled a new front man – legendary Paradise Lost vocalist Nick Holmes, now redubbed Old Nick – and yet another macabre musical evolution.  With this new line-up, the only way to go was grim. On “Survival Of The Sickest”, BLOODBATH evoke their most horrifying sonic scenarios to date, from the death-by-munching nightmare of “Malignant Maggot Therapy”, to the murderous nihilism of “Affliction Of Extinction”. A glorious comeback from a legendarily wicked musical force, “Survival Of The Sickest” provides yet more proof that BLOODBATH are the kings of the old school.

“Survival Of The Sickest” track listing:

  1. Zombie Inferno
  2. Putrefying Corpse
  3. Dead Parade
  4. Malignant Maggot Therapy
  5. Carved
  6. Born Infernal
  7. To Die
  8. Affliction of Extinction
  9. Tales of Melting Flesh
  10. Environcide
  11. No God Before Me

After breaking the silence with their recently released standalone single “Reborn” alongside introducing a new line-up, German symphonic metal icons XANDRIA continue this next chapter, promising adventure with a brand new song, titled “You Will Never Be Our God”. The exciting, fresh offering features none other than Primal Fear frontman Ralf Scheepers, whose heavy voice scintillates along with the dynamic range of new XANDRIA vocalist Ambre Vourvahis.

“You Will Never Be Our God” showcases its wide musical spectrum, opening with heavy riffs and haunting growls reminiscent of bands like Arch Enemy, but merge into a flawless symphonic style, carrying the renowned trademarks XANDRIA are loved for. Followed by modern and classic 80s-styled riffs, the band proves their musical versatility, showing that they do not comply with any rules, while incorporating death metal and operatic voices – reaching effortlessly across genres.

This massive new track comes right as XANDRIA readies to embark on a top-notch co-headline tour throughout Europe with labelmates VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, plus YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS rounding out this exciting package. The tour is set to begin tomorrow, September 8 in Hamburg, Germany, and will visit several major cities into October, coming to an end on October 15 in Wetzikon, Switzerland.  On this impressive run, XANDRIA will grace their fans with an energizing performance placed in an all-new visual surrounding, heating up the anticipation for everything that is about to come even more! Don’t miss your chance to dive into breathtaking soundscapes of symphonic metal at its best.

XANDRIA on “You Will Never Be Our God”:
“‘You Will Never Be Our God’ shows how diverse our next album will be. This song alone features elements from different metal genres, classic and modern, and melts them into something new that shows how well and fresh it can come together. But, at the same time, it reflects everything that XANDRIA stands for, including bombastic film score orchestrations and big choirs!”

Dark melodic metal masters EVERGREY commenced a new era with their thirteenth studio album, A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament), released via Napalm Records this past spring – demonstrating once again that their musical force and sophistication knows no limits.

Following the release of their meticulous latest production, they now bestow another artistic offering upon us with a new animated music video for “Save Us”, the first single off of A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament). Unifying heavy prog and melancholic beauty with astounding visual storytelling, EVERGREY offers a flawless performance on all possible levels.

In celebration of their latest album, EVERGREY will embark on an extensive tour throughout Europe this month, sharing their technical riffs, dramatic synths and vocal intensity live on the stages of the biggest European metropolises. The tour kicks off on September 16 in Eindhoven, NL, and comes to an end in Paris, FR, on October 23. Tickets are available HERE.

EVERGREY add:
“We are FINALLY going on tour again! Finally coming to see all of our listeners and friends across Europe and the UK!
Thanks so much for sticking by us through these last couple of years! You have proven that you are as eager to see us as we are to see you as the ticket sales are great! So for those of you who didn’t get your tickets yet, it’s time! Don’t be left standing on the outside!
See you very soon!
Tom, Jonas, Rik, Henrik & Johan!”

Watch the animated video for “Save Us” below.

Tom S. Englund on “Save Us”:
“’Save Us” is about us. It’s about you and I. It’s about how I see our minds becoming hostages in a world where painting optimal portraits of ourselves is more important than being who we really are. It’s about my observation of watching people around me who are feeling that they’re not good enough for the world, or for themselves. I’m afraid we’re lost, and I think we need to help each other to find our way back to what is important, to rediscover a true sense of self. As we, as artists, also contribute to content and social media as a livelihood, it’s about the paradox of being caught in a world which is hard to free yourself from. I can only wish that our music brings some balance to that equation.”

More about NATIONAL NAPALM SYNDICATE:

National Napalm Syndicate was formed in 1986. After few line-up changes and couple of demos later they found themselves signing a major label deal with EMI / Capitol Records.

The band was one of the very first speed/thrash metal acts to emerge from Finland. Their debut album “National Napalm Syndicate” was released in 1989.

Over the years National Napalm Syndicate have released a number of full albums and EPs, but now 2022 all the missing pieces of the puzzle were found and the band is a meaner than ever, a true killing machine ready to unleash the thrash metal storm upon the metal world.

The National Napalm Syndicate sound is a interesting combination of traditional heavy metal, NWOBHM, hardcore punk and old school thrash metal. As a bonus they have a very unique way of writing memorable choruses and addicting riffs. A truly original sound which only a country like Finland and a cold Finnish weather could have given a birth.

NATIONAL NAPALM SYNDICATE are:
Vesa Mänty – vocals (2020-)
Jukka Kyrö – guitar (1986-91, 2002-)
Ville Hanhisuanto – drums (2016-)
Harri Lampinen – guitar (2012-)
Niko Karppinen – bass (2013-)

MERCYFUL FATE is currently working on a new album and recently gave fans a taste of the new material when they debuted a song called “The Jackal Of Salzburg” in Germany this past June as well as at Psycho Las Vegas. The band’s current lineup is King Diamond on vocals, Hank Shermann and Mike Wead on guitars, Bjarne T. Holm on drums and Joey Vera on bass.

MERCYFUL FATE was formed in early 1981 in Copenhagen, Denmark by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. They were later joined by guitarist Michael Denner and bassist Timi Hansen, and soon thereafter drummer Kim Ruzz would join to complete the band lineup. The band recorded two demos in 1981 and later signed with Rave On Records in Holland for the recording of their successful self-titled EP, released in November of 1982. The Mercyful Fate EP was soon in heavy rotation around core metal radio stations, launching a new breed of heavy metal with their unique sound.

The band joined Roadrunner Records in 1983 and their debut full-length, Melissa, was recorded and released that same year. The following year, MERCYFUL FATE returned to the studio to record their now legendary Don’t Break The Oath full-length, released in September of 1984.

MERCYFUL FATE embarked upon a two month US tour in support of the record, which took them across the States several times sharing the stage with the likes of Motörhead and Exciter. The shows had created a brush fire within the metal community. The band reaped recognition globally, closing the year with a five-date tour in Germany with Motörhead, Girlschool, Helix, and Talon.

MERCYFUL FATE‘s first concert of 1985 was in their hometown of Copenhagen at an old movie theater with a large capacity. The show sold out and their stage show exhibited a new level of distinction. The night was a huge victory and a new highlight for the band.

By April of 1985 however, MERCYFUL FATE decided to part ways for each to pursue new challenges. The King Diamond band was born and reaped critical acclaim the following years with five studio albums on Roadrunner Records. King Diamond has since signed with Metal Blade Records and is going stronger than ever before.

In the Summer of 1992, MERCYFUL FATE decided to reunite and penned a new deal with Brian Slagel and his label, Metal Blade Records. In The Shadows was released in 1993 and was an instant triumph furthered by a sold out US tour.

MERCYFUL FATE has gone on to release another five studio albums and have toured Europe, the US, and South America multiple times. The highlight of 1999 was their critically acclaimed album 9 which was followed by a European tour with Metallica, where King Diamond and Hank Shermann joined the band onstage several times for the medley “Mercyful Fate” which Metallica had recorded on their Garage Inc. double tribute album the year prior. Tours in the US and in South America followed, marking the band’s last live performances for over a decade. MERCYFUL FATE then went on hiatus, but made a brief appearance when members joined Metallica onstage in 2011 for their 30th anniversary show in San Francisco, California.

CABAL Release New Single ‘Exit Wound’

Copenhagen’s most visceral metal export, CABAL, have released a brand new single titled ‘Exit Wound’ that displays their willingness to tackle deeply sensitive topics whilst drawing from personal experiences. Focusing on the trauma experienced after the death of a loved one without the chance for a final goodbye, CABAL channel those feelings of powerlessness and loneliness into a gut wrenchingly intense track.

Singer Andreas Bjulver states:
“Exit Wound is a very personal song to me, as it serves as an outlet for the trauma i felt right after my granddads suicide at the beginning of 2021. It deals with the heavy subject of being denied a final goodbye to one of the few people I’ve ever felt a true connection and real kinship to.”

‘Exit Wound’ comes with a breathtaking video highlighting the band’s explosive performance skills whilst underlining the intense message of the track. Check it out here:

‘Exit Wound’ is the fourth single that the band has released from their upcoming album Magno Interitus. The band’s Nuclear Blast debutwill be released on October 21st.

CABAL is one of the most brutal and promising heavy acts hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band aims to create a visceral and doom-laden atmosphere throughout both their music and visual expression. The production is crystal clear, whilst the songwriting draws inspiration from everything from black and death metal to djent and hardcore.

Since the release of their debut album “Mark of Rot” in 2018, the young band has managed to make a name for themselves in both Denmark and the rest of the world by playing renowned festivals like Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, Euroblast Festival and Complexity Fest as well as touring in Europe, Japan and North America.
CABAL released the sophomore album “Drag Me Down” in April 2020 – a dark descent into a personal hell brought to life by crushing instrumentals, an oppressive atmosphere and dark personal lyrics delivered with relentless intensity, while still leaving room for experimentation and expansion of CABAL’s signature sound. Add to this guest appearances from metal titans TRIVIUM‘s Matt Heafy, rising metalcore stars POLARIS’ Jamie Hails and Denmark’s Blackgaze darlings MØL’s Kim Song Sternkopf and there is no doubt that CABAL is a band with friends in every corner of the metal scene.
