DIO AT DONINGTON ’83 & ’87 Legendary Performances Coming Out September 23rd

On September 23rd, Niji Entertainment & BMG will release two legendary live performances from DIO at the Donington Festival in the UK. DIO AT DONINGTON ‘83 captures the original DIO lineup on the HOLY DIVER TOUR and captures a young, hungry band 3 months after the release of their debut album. The set features classic tracks from Ronnie James Dio’s already amazing career as vocalist for Rainbow and Black Sabbath, alongside soon to be classics like “Holy Diver”, “Rainbow In The Dark”, and “Stand Up And Shout”.

Following three hugely successful studio albums and silver, gold, and platinum certifications around the world, DIO AT DONINGTON ’87 captures the DREAM EVIL line up, and features such classics as “The Last In Line”, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Children,” and “All The Fools Sailed Away”.

Additionally, both discs contain killer renditions of both RAINBOW and BLACK SABBATH classics, including “Man On The Silver Mountain”, “Neon Knights”, “Stargazer”, and “Heaven and Hell”, among others.

As the singer of Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, and his own band, Ronnie James Dio is often considered to be one of rock’s all-time great vocalists, who sadly passed away in 2010, after battling stomach cancer. However, Dio’s music continues to connect with the masses – the official Ronnie James Dio Facebook page has over 2.5 million followers, his music on Spotify receives over 3 million monthly listeners, and in the most recent season of the hit Netflix series, STRANGER THINGS, the popular character Eddie Munson sports a large “DIO” patch on the back of his beloved denim jacket.

GOD ALONE Premiere New Single + Visualizer for ‘ETC’

Cork, Ireland’s GOD ALONE are today premiering the title track from their forthcoming second album, ETC, via Distorted Sound alongside the tracks accompanying visualizer. GOD ALONE continue to play outside of genre confines on their latest single, which incorporates elements of mathrock, avant-garde and post-metal, representative of their sophomore effort which is set for release on October 21. 

GOD ALONE will be performing select songs from ETC at their upcoming ArcTanGent Festival performance on August 19, ahead of a planned UK tour this November – more details on dates below.

Of the single release, the band comments: “We wrote the single ETC during the Covid-19 lockdown period in Ireland almost two years ago. We were heavily influenced by the FIFA soundtracks from the late 2000s and Eurodance at the time. We wanted to combine those influences with a more math rock sound. At ArcTanGent people can expect us to throw more shapes than ever before, play more songs from the upcoming album and probably cry at some stage. Cheers and thanks!”

The five musicians behind GOD ALONE are quite literally students of their craft; ETC – their second full length album – was recorded at MTU Cork School of Music which they all attend. ETC was produced by the band and Christopher Hockey, and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Witch Fever, GGGOLDDD, Ghost). The origins of the band lie in a heavier, post-metal sound, but the intervening years and an influx of new and stimulating influences has seen them broaden their palette, expand their horizons and hone a distinctive sound.

Whilst embracing all that the Irish music scene has to offer, GOD ALONE are constantly pushing to make their way out of Ireland and further afield. Cutting their teeth in an eclectic and enthusiastic local scene helped them to refine their live chops, giving their performance increased weight and attention as they progressed. Now when they write, the live iteration of their music is always at the forefront of their minds.

GOD ALONE‘s approach traverses through mathrock, dance, avant-garde, post-punk and more on its way to its final destination. Citing the Talking Heads as a big influence, GOD ALONE embrace absurdism at every turn – in particular the absurdity of nothingness; the art of existing without meaning or context. Abstract lyrics are influenced by French dadaist poets as they seek to make heavy ideas into fun, danceable vignettes.

Minimalist album art courtesy of Ian McInerney highlights the repetition of things that have no clear beginning or end – the endless loop of everything and nothing all at once.

Paris-based instrumental, progressive metal act OAKS has announced the release of their upcoming debut album, entitled Genesis of the Abstract, for September 30, 2022 via Argonauta Records!

The trio invites the dedicated listener into a complex sound universe. Heavily inspired by bands alike Mastodon, Tool or Pink Floyd, OAKS offers a diverse mixture in between brutal, powerful incursions and calm moments ahead of a storm.

HEXED Release Lyric Video for New Single ‘Resurrection’

Swedish symphonic metal quintet HEXED have released the new lyric video/single “RESURRECTION”. This is the second single, taken from their upcoming monster album, “PAGANS RISING”. The album will be released on September 30th via ViciSolum Productions.

HEXED is a Swedish symphonic and progressive metal band fronted by the amazing lead vocalist Tina Gunnarsson.
It contains thick driving rhythms, melodic orchestrations with dark layers, powerful female vocals and male growl. The band was formed late 2015 by vocalist Tina and guitarist Stellan Gunnarsson, they already had a history in the metal scene and were experienced songwriters.

Since both of them had the source of inspiration from bands such as Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory and Kamelot, their aim was to create music and to focus on strong vocals combined with melodic guitars and progressive elements. Drummer Teddy Möller and Bass player Daniel Håkansson were early chosen to take place and Hexed released the debut single “Dreams” in 2016.
In 2017 the first EP ”Exhaling Life” came out, which ended up signing a worldwide deal with ViciSolum Productions.

The debut album “Netherworld” was released in 2018 and received great response from both press, media and fans.
It has resulted in tours and gigs at several clubs and festivals all around Europe and the band have shared stages with many bands such as Leprous, Omnium Gatherum and Harakiri for the Sky among others. Hexed have gained a strong reputation for being a fantastic live act and for always delivering a great live performance. After a couple of changes in the lineup Hexed recruited a second guitarist David Nyman and the drummer Patrick Wahlberg. During the years, the music has grown into a unique sound for Hexed.
“The world will soon be divided in two parts, those who already are Hexed and those who are about to be”.

Danish STATEMENT Release New Album “Dreams From The Darkest Side” on October 7th

Danish heavy hard rockers STATEMENT are back with their fourth and most uncompromising album to date which, like their last critically acclaimed album “Force Of Life”, was recorded in Medley Studios and produced by experienced Søren Andersen. With the same line-up as the previous album, Statement demonstrates their indomitable perfectionism after several long hours in the studio, with their heads deeply buried in the world of music in the culmination between hard work and enormous focus in further development – among other things with a more diverse songwriting. 

”Dreams From The Darkest Side” is a heavy rock album that clearly expresses the band’s personality and unity. Based on the band’s recognizable cosmos, ”Dreams From The Darkest Side” carries Statement further into the facets of metal. An even higher range of flashy melodies and heavy metal elements characterise ”Dreams From The Darkest Side”, without the band giving up their iconic choruses and exuberant guitar solos in the span between rock, metal and emotional ballads. OTHERWISE Release New Single & Video ‘Exit Wound’

OTHERWISE and Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group have revealed second single and video ‘Exit Wound’ from the band’s upcoming new studio album.

Singer Adrian Patrick shares, “I’d be lying if I said I’ve never sat at the end of my bed with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a pistol in the other. The toll that life can take on you can be unbearable at times…but the beauty is in pushing through it, persevering so that others can draw strength from you. Your fate may already be written, so live your life like you’re gonna die tomorrow… live your life like a fucking Exit Wound.”  Lead guitarist Ryan Patrick reflects, “This life can be a complete mind fuck. I’ve dealt with depression and doubt for many years. ‘Exit Wound,’ to me, represents standing up, dusting the dirt off, and wearing my scars proudly. It is ok to not be ok. It is ok to talk about it. Just don’t give up, and turn the volume way up in the meantime.”

The Las Vegas quartet—Adrian Patrick [vocals], Ryan Patrick [guitar], Nick Bedrosian [bass], and Joe Conner [drums]—have weathered personal tragedy and trauma, withstood the tides of the industry, and still stand tall.
