LAST TEMPTATION Release “Fuel for my Soul” on Vinyl

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 3, 2022

After LAST TEMPTATION released their second album Fuel for my Soul earlier in the year, you can now own the 11 eclectic tracks on limited edition vinyl via Crusader Records/Golden Robot.

Fuel for my Soul is a great step forward compared to Last Temptation’s first album. Recorded in a week, the band took their time to rehearse the new songs, and had over 40 demos. Eventually, the band narrowed down the tracks to a list of 11 songs they wanted to have on the record.

Fuel for my Soul has a very different production style compared to the last album. They recorded live all the rhythm tracks, bass, drums and guitars, and it’s more eclectic as far as the songs go. Last Temptation still maintain the Ozzy/Black Sabbath influences, but add a grungy twist as well as a 80’s vibe with big choruses.

The band also pushed lead singer Peter Scheithauer with melodies in some lead parts. “That’s really not what I like but it felt right. I must admit, sound-wise, it’s live again but with better mixing and mastering. We are excited to play these songs live.”

You can purchase Last Temptation limited edition vinyl Fuel for my Soul via the Golden Robot Records online store.

ABOUT LAST TEMPTATION

The first important step has been mastered effortlessly. Following their successful album debut and enthusiastic reviews in countless music rags, shows with bands such as Dream Theater, plus festivals such as Hellfest, the band surrounding guitarist Peter Scheithauer (Killing Machine, Belladonna, Temple of Brutality) and vocalist Butcho Vukovic (Watcha) is all set to embark on the second stage of its career in summer 2022.

“You can feel that we’ve made a major step forward, both as a live band and as songwriters, thanks to the shows we’ve played so far,” Scheithauer rejoices over his band’s remarkable development.

Fuel for my Soul benefits mainly from the new material’s broader stylistic range. Scheithauer says, “Our classic hard rock definitely features a wider selection of styles. The Ozzy Osbourne influence, which we didn’t want to deny on our debut, is still there, but in addition there are also a number of more modern tracks, plus two fast numbers and a Kiss-style song. Last Temptation didn’t feature such a wide variety of musical directions. Listening to the material, you can hear that the new line-up practiced the songs intensively at the rehearsal room, which makes them sound absolutely homogeneous and cohesive.”

Talking of the new line-up, bassist Julien Rimaire (Los Dissidentes Del Sucio Motel) and drummer Farid Mejabe (Trust), Scheithauer and Vukovic have a whole new rhythm section supporting them for ‘Fuel for my soul

While Last Temptation’s self-titled debut still boasted a number of international guests, such as Bob Daisley, Vinny Appice, Stet Howland, James Lomenzo, Don Airey and Rudy Sarzo, the band now consists exclusively of European musicians.

KING BUFFALO Unleash New Album “Regenerator”, North American Tour Starts Next Week

Today, Rochester, New York-based trio KING BUFFALO is celebrating their fifth full-length, Regenerator, issued by the band directly in North America at http://kingbuffalo.bigcartel.com, and in Europe via Stickman Records.

The seven-song outing is the third in King Buffalo’s stated ‘pandemic trilogy,’ following Two of 2021’s Best Albums in The Burden of Restlessness and Acheron.

Both of those albums – like 2018’s Longing to Be the Mountain, 2016’s debut, Orion, and the various EPs and other offerings they’ve made over the last eight years – made bold declarations about who King Buffalo are as a band, and Regenerator is no different. As McVay, bassist/synthesist Dan Reynolds and drummer Scott Donaldson continue to explore the outer reaches of modern psychedelic songcraft, melding progressive rhythms, drifting atmospheres and accompanying surges of electricity, the new collection only further establishes them as one of the brightest lights shining in underground rock today.

As the third of three, Regenerator seems inherently to tie together the two LPs most immediately before it, and as King Buffalo unfold the leadoff title-track across nine and half minutes, it becomes clear just how truly they have marked out their own sonic presence. The later melodic highlight “Mammoth” – with McVay’s most confident vocal yet – shimmers with hope that somehow doesn’t come across as desperate, and as “Hours” engages classic space rock and the closing “Firmament” summarizes the first, second and third series installments, the final chapter of this trilogy becomes the essential cornerstone of King Buffalo’s work to-date.

Regenerator was written by King Buffalo in Rochester, NY at the Main Street Armory in 2021. Produced, engineered and mixed by Sean McVay, and mastered by Bernie Matthews. The artwork was created by Mike Del Rosario, with the album layout by Scott Donaldson.

Regenerator Tracklist:

  1. Regenerator
  2. Mercury
  3. Hours
  4. Interlude
  5. Mammoth
  6. Avalon
  7. Firmament

The band returned to live activity late last year, touring alongside Clutch and more recently a full North American spring tour with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats. By the time Regenerator arrives, they will have completed a UK and European headlining tour with festival appearances in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium and Denmark, while they are currently gearing up again for an extensive US tour kicking off next week!

Norwegian WIZRD Reveal “Seasons” Album Details + Release Single ‘Lessons’

Having learned their craft at the Jazz Conservatory in Trondheim, WIZRD have completed work on their new album “Seasons”, and Karisma Records have today released the track “Lessons” from the album.

“Lessons” is a track that gives an insight into what we can expect from the debut album from this talented Norwegian quartet, consisting of Hallvard Gaardløs (SPIDERGAWD, DRAKEN and more) on bass and lead vocals, Karl Bjorå (MEGALODON COLLECTIVE and more) on guitar and vocals, Vegard Lien Bjerkan (SOFT FFOG and more) on keyboards and vocals and Axel Skalstad (KROKOFANT, SOFT FFOG and more) on drums.

The band’s Hallvard Gaardløs explains::

“Lessons” is somewhat the quintessential WIZRD song, at least for me. It is a good representation of what we intend to do on this album, mixing progressive and improvisational elements with rock & pop sensibilities. The lyrics are about the New Age movement, and the fact that I find it rather silly. I’m kind of just making fun of it all, comparing yoga to a sacrificing ritual for Satan. With that said, I practice yoga sometimes myself, so I guess that makes me a demon worshipper.. Oh well, why not! Hail Satan!

The single “Lessons” can be downloaded or streamed from a variety of services at
https://link.karismarecords.no/Wizrd_Lessons

“Seasons”  itself, is set for release on the 21st October, and showcases how WIZRD are more than happy to test their limits with a sound that encompasses  Rock and Indie to Jazz and Prog, whilst breaking a few rules along the way. The end result is a masterclass on how to produce a catchy  album that is filled with beautiful vocal harmonies, stunning melodies, quirky jazz grooves and a rock’n’roll drive to die for.

Produced by Norwegian film score composer and JAGA JAZZIST drummer Martin Horntveth, “Seasons” was recorded at the Studio Paradiso in Oslo by Marcus Forsgren (BROR FORSGREN, JAGA JAZZIST) and Horntveth, and mixed by Bergen based musician and producer Matias Tellez (YOUNG DREAMS, GIRL IN RED).

The artwork created by Steph Hope,  tracklisting on “Seasons” is as follows:

1. Lessons
2. Free Will
3. Spitfire
4. All is as it should be
5. Show Me What You Got
6. Fire & Water
7. Divine
8. When You Call

“Seasons” will be available in CD, Digital and a Limited Edition LP in transparent magenta vinyl formats, and can now be pre-ordered from:

INGESTED Share ‘Tides of Glass’ Video

INGESTED will release their new album Ashes Lie Still on November 4 via Metal Blade. Pre-order it here: metalblade.com/ingested

Today, the band has shared the video for “Tides of Glass.” Watch it below.

“This song is about loss, division, and the long battle to drag yourself out of the darkest depths of your own mind,” says singer Jason Evans. “It’s ominous, foreboding, and crushingly heavy – and we wanted to match the dark atmospherics of the song with another awesome video by our longtime videographer, the very talented Loki Films. The video is bleak, and perfectly captures the hopelessness of the lyrical content. So turn the volume all the way to max, and crawl through the ‘Tides of Glass’ with us.“

Over the course of 10 tracks, Ingested hack, slash, and steamroll through everything in their path, and Ashes Lie Still easily stands as the highpoint of an already impressive career.

Founded in 2006 in Manchester, England, Ingested have since toured extensively with Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, Carnifex, and Revocation, and have been seen on European festival stages including Summer Breeze Open Air. Slimmed down to a three-piece, the band feels it is in the best place it ever has been, enabling the members to work at the top of their game.

Ashes Lie Still was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson. It was co-produced by the band and previous collaborator Nico Beninato, with drummer Lyn Jeffs living close to Beninato’s studio in Mallorca and recording his drums there, while Sean Hynes recorded his guitars at home in the UK with the producer assisting remotely. Vocal tracking was interrupted by Jason Evans falling seriously ill when finally making it to Mallorca and was ultimately tracked back in Manchester. Bass was again supplied by Dominic Grimard (Ion Dissonance/The Last Felony).

Ingested succinctly encapsulate their existence, saying, “We’ve always been the underdogs, always fighting for scraps. Well it’s time to get out of the fucking way, because now it’s our turn to eat at the table.“

ASHES LIE STILL TRACK LISTING:
01. Ashes Lie Still (Feat. Julia Frau)
02. Shadows in Time
