Fans of the Lower Saxon thrashers Headshot had to wait a long time for a follow-up to their 2011 album “Synchonicity”. Now, on 14 October, the time has come. “Eyes Of The Giardians” is the sixth longplayer of the four men around frontwoman Daniela Karrer, HEADSHOT, and will be released on MDD Records.
The 10 new songs are a lesson in neck-breaking thrash, whereby the band manages to strike new notes without breaking with their style, making the album the undoubted highlight of their work so far!
The album was recorded and produced between July 2019 and February 2022 at PureSonic Studio Langelsheim under the wing of Jost Schlüter. A first glimpse of the cover artwork can be seen above, more info and first samples will be available soon. Be prepared, it is a monster!
Canadas metal hope is back: After releasing their critically acclaimed EP Foundations as well as a polished re-issue of their beloved effort Kingsbane, OSYRON herald a new era with their latest single DOMINION DAY.
Beautifully blending the versatile edges of both clean, almost siren-like, and growling vocals, the renowned collective from the heart of Canada once again impressively proves their capability of thoughtfully planting straight-up hits with vivid characteristics into complex, symphonic soundscapes – while never losing their roots in the progressive fields of metal music.
Osyron have never backed out from the conflict-guarded past of their heritage, which they have already dealt with on their 2020 release Foundations. The EP’s blend of heaviness, soul and deep atmosphere fitted the band’s aspiration to delve into sensitive topics of Canadian culture, telling “the story of those who have been ignored for too long” – from Canadian troops in WW1 to the assimilation of the First Nations.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Osyron keep on unwrapping the hardship of everyones past that emerges in the very current day: “Dominion Day deals with the celebration of events gone by, and what we still celebrate without knowing the implications that go with these events or the outcomes that are a byproduct of them”. Not only their topics, but also their music has been ever-evolving since Osyrons forming: massive layered sections, luscious hooks and stuff that’s been composed to break fingers on fretboards. The big difference lies in a sharpened focus. Everything about each of their recent compositions is meant to drill into the mind of the listener with no intention to leave. Blending symphonic and progressive elements, Osyron are back on the map to stay – as they have proven to be one of Canadas biggest metal hopes throughout the past years. Dominion Day by Osyron is out now on all channels.
This project is funded in part by FACTOR, the Government of Canada and Canada’s private radio broadcasters.

‘I Hate Waiting’ is the latest single from Canadian synth rockers, KING BULL and is available on digital platforms via Riot Records. ‘I Hate Waiting’ comes off the bands upcoming new EP Conflicting Opinions on Mold and Bacteria which will be released digitally on September 9th and is available for pre-save/pre-order/pre-add now.
King Bull’s hot new single ‘I Hate Waiting’ sizzles like spam on a pan. The song itself is trans-fat and cholesterol free, but it might still give you a heart attack. It’s about impatience and bulging veins. Those with pacemakers are advised to listen with caution.
Hell bent on making a record that would upset folks in the FM radio industry, King Bull haphazardly put together what is undoubtedly the best EP of 2022 which is titled Conflicting Opinions on Mold and Bacteria. Fancy recording studios and high budgets were scrapped in favour of a dank mildew filled basement with a tendency to flood when a hose happy French Canadian over waters spruce trees for no reason. If you’re sick of the highly polished overproduced rubbish that everyone’s putting out nowadays, you should give this a shot.
Conflicting Opinions on Mold and Bacteria – Tracklisting 1. Don’t Want You to Know 2. Never Seen You Smile 3. Cigarette 4. Scary (feat. Ryan Kuly) 5. I Hate Waiting
King Bull began to really build a name for themselves globally with the release of their 2020 EP What Happened Here which was described as ‘’Sonically cohesive throughout, featuring snarling guitars, growling bass, thunderous drums and vocals that sound similar to a jet engine that isn’t working properly.’’ You get the drift. King Bull continue to develop their already sophisticated yet eclectic sound in 2022.

Finnish MERCURY CIRCLE have released a new music video for ‘Black Mirrors’, taken from their first full-length album “Killing Moons”, released in 2021 on Noble Demon. Watch the video below.
MERCURY CIRCLE, born as a brainchild in 2018 by Iconcrash’s and Swallow the Sun’s Jaani Peuhu, offers dark rock infused with electrifying synth wave and slow, epic doom. Truly a genre of its own, the band is establishing their very own kind of “New Doom” – think “Sisters Of Mercy and The Cult shaking hands with Depeche Mode and Cathedral”. Within their own microcosm, the songs tell a story of an ever-repeating journey from painful departures to new beginnings, hope and promises echoing loss and regret.
In June 2020 MERCURY CIRCLE announced the release of “The Dawn Of Vitriol”, the band’s first EP, to be released on August 14th on Noble Demon (Digital) and The Vinyl Division (Vinyl + Digipack CD).
MERCURY CIRCLE are: Jaani Peuhu – Vocals, Guitars, Synths (Iconcrash, Swallow the Sun, Hallatar) Jussi Hämäläinen – Guitars, Synths, Backing vocals (Hanging Garden, The Chant) Juppe Sutela – Guitars (To/Die/For) Ande Kiiski – Bass (Sleep of Monsters, Rytmihäiriö) Jaska Raatikainen – Drums (Children of Bodom)
A quartet of Brazilian metal veterans teamed up to celebrate Entombed, the Swedish death metal giant formed in the late 80s featuring the iconic singer L-G Petrov. The idea of recording “Out of Hand“, originally released in “Wolverine Blues” back in 1993, came from guitarist Elizeu Hainzenreder (ex-Desolate Ways) in 2021, the same year Petrov died after a long battle with cancer.
The musician invited vocalist Eduardo “Clark” Monteiro (ex-A Sorrowful Dream, ex-Unmaker), bassist Fabrício Bertolozi (Dyingbreed, ex-Horror Chamber) and drummer Paulo Wilges (Mortal Touch, Aterro, ex-Baal Hamon). The production was handled by Roger “Earth” Fingle (Seduced by Suicide, Blood Tears), who has been producing rock and metal bands for over twenty years.
“The idea came up in 2021, but being a perfectionist I only do something if I can fully dedicate myself, it ended up taking a little longer to happen”, commented Elizeu. He added, praising his colleagues: “Besides being amazing musicians, they are all my friends. Clark and I have known each other for many years. Desolate Ways and A Sorrowful Dream shared stages and buses several times. Fabrício is killing with Dyingbreed and Paulo recorded with Mortal Touch the album that I consider to be the best Brazilian death metal record. Roger Fingle doesn’t need any comments, just check his work.”
This cover marks the first recording in more than a decade by Elizeu Hainzenreder, after releasing “Eternal Dreams” (2003), “Tearful” (2007) and “Last Moons” (2009) with Desolate Ways, a band founded in 1998 and which was one of the great names of Brazilian gothic metal at the time. This is also a special moment for Eduardo “Clark”, who said: “The importance of Entombed for death metal is unquestionable, and Petrov’s vocals were the pillars of extreme singing in metal! Being able to honor it with this cover is very rewarding, especially at the invitation of a longtime friend like Elizeu.”
