OTHERWISE Release New Single & Video ‘Exit Wound’

OTHERWISE and Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group have revealed second single and video ‘Exit Wound’ from the band’s upcoming new studio album.

Singer Adrian Patrick shares, “I’d be lying if I said I’ve never sat at the end of my bed with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a pistol in the other. The toll that life can take on you can be unbearable at times…but the beauty is in pushing through it, persevering so that others can draw strength from you. Your fate may already be written, so live your life like you’re gonna die tomorrow… live your life like a fucking Exit Wound.”  Lead guitarist Ryan Patrick reflects, “This life can be a complete mind fuck. I’ve dealt with depression and doubt for many years. ‘Exit Wound,’ to me, represents standing up, dusting the dirt off, and wearing my scars proudly. It is ok to not be ok. It is ok to talk about it. Just don’t give up, and turn the volume way up in the meantime.”

Stream the single at https://lnk.to/OTHERWISEmusic

The Las Vegas quartet—Adrian Patrick [vocals], Ryan Patrick [guitar], Nick Bedrosian [bass], and Joe Conner [drums]—have weathered personal tragedy and trauma, withstood the tides of the industry, and still stand tall. If anything, the boys are stronger than ever with a one-two punch of airtight guitars, stadium-shaking grooves, and hypnotic hard-hitting hooks. Over the past decade, they’ve clawed their way through the rock ‘n’ roll ranks and emerged as an unbreakable force. Their catalog spans fan favorites such as True Love Never Dies [2012], Peace At All Costs [2014], and Sleeping Lions [2017]. Signature anthem “Soldiers” has amassed over 66 million Spotify streams and counting.  Meanwhile, 2019’s Defy kickstarted another chapter. “Crossfire” eclipsed 5.1 million Spotify streams followed by “Lifted” with 3.7 million Spotify streams. Loudwire hailed the latter as “a stomp-clap rocker.” On this trip, they’ve also ignited the stages of Welcome To Rockville, Rocklahoma, and Shiprocked! as well as supporting Stone Sour, Papa Roach, and more.

“Honestly, we have lived every single note and each fucking lyric we’ve written,” Adrian declares. “We don’t have costumes or a gimmick. We’re just dudes on stage singing about what we’ve gone through.”

OTHERWISE inspire change in the world at large. Ryan and Adrian lead the 501c3 Life By Music, which supplies music programs with instruments. The guys visit schools, initiated a partnership with Gibson Guitars, and even have created the Guitar Magic coloring book.  “Hopefully, we’re creating an empowering environment where kids get the spark like I remember when music affected my soul,” Ryan goes on. “There’s nothing like seeing that. It’s cooler than anything we’ve done. It brings back the purity.”

BECKO Releases New Single ‘Home’, Announces New ’90s Concept Album “Present Day // Present Time”

Following up his successful cover of Katie Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” (A Deal With God) Italian trap-metal artist BECKO jumps feet first fusing a new breakbeat rock single “Home.” This newest track is the first single from the upcoming ’90s-inspired concept album ‘Present Day//Present Time’.

“Home” is chaos refined fusing determination with introspection through thoughtful lyrics, and a strong and at times brutal vocal performance from Becko. Turbulent rhythms laced with synthesizers over steady guitars only solidify the track’s tempestuous nature. “Home” is about Dissociative Identity Disorder, and is about one specific personality among a trio trying to take over and work as a team without erasing their distinctive counterparts. The entire concept of the song and the album harkens back to late 90’s music and gaming when the internet was first getting traction, and anime like Iain, Evangelion and Trigun was very darkish and deep.

“This song is the first song released of my new concept album called ‘Present Day // Present Time.’ It’s a breakbeat rock song with EDM influences,” states Becko. “The song talks about Dissociative Identity Disorder, where the main character is trying to take the other two personalities in power to be the leader of the mind without erasing the other two parts but taking them alongside and becoming stronger. (It’s a biblical concept).“

“Home” is out now from independent multi-genre label FiXT.

BLOODBATH Drop Punishing New Single + Official Music Video ‘Carved’ Feat. Luc Lemay of Gorguts

It’s time for another deep dive into the horrors of mortality and the foul side of the supernatural – it’s time for “Survival Of The Sickest”! The sixth full-length album from BLOODBATH, Sweden’s undisputed masters of old school death metal, will be unleashed on September 9, 2022 via Napalm Records. This is death metal at its ugly best: vicious, unrelenting and irrevocably sworn to the black.

After smashing the thrashing death metal assault and album opener “Zombie Inferno” out to the masses, BLOODBATH have just released another new burner, entitled “Carved”, featuring none other than Luc Lemay (Gorguts). Without any doubt, the relentlessly heavy track will ensnare the minds of new fans and thrill longtime supporters, aiming to turn intestines outwards in preparation for another irrevocable BLOODBATH!

Jonas Renkse on “Carved“:
“If you’re a subject to human experiments performed by the sickest surgeon, you may not have the time to suffer a thousand deaths, but one thing is for certain: YOU’RE CARVED.”

The world is in flames, and “Survival Of The Sickest”, produced by BLOODBATH and co-produced and mixed by Lawrence Mackrory at Rorysound Studios, offers no respite from the horrors of reality. Instead, with the addition of new guitarist Tomas ‘Plytet’ Åkvik (Lik) onboard, BLOODBATH’s latest and greatest album gleefully confronts the slavering ghoul lurking in the shadows, and treats him to ten songs of ripping death metal frenzy. Alongside BLOODBATH’s official alumni, “Survival Of The Sickest” boasts a smattering of irresistible cameos from the great, good and ghoulish of the metal underground, including Barney Greenway (Napalm Death), Luc Lemay (Gorguts) and Marc Grewe (Morgoth).

From the thuggish brain-smash of opener “Zombie Inferno” to the bleak, obsidian ooze of closer “No God Before Me”, “Survival Of The Sickest” is the sound of a great band in blistering form. In contrast with The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn, which borrowed heavily from the blackened end of the death metal world, the new BLOODBATH goes straight for the jugular in true old school fashion. With strong echoes of everything from Morbid Angel and Death to Deicide and Obituary, songs like the rampaging “Putrefying Corpse”, the disgustingly slow and heavy “Dead Parade”, and the deliciously twisted “Tales Of Melting Flesh” breathe fresh fire into an arcane, perpetually rotting formula.

Formed by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström (both of KATATONIA), Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) and Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity) in 1998, BLOODBATH devoted themselves to resurrecting the increasingly forgotten art of pure death metal. In 2014, they unveiled a new frontman – legendary Paradise Lost vocalist Nick Holmes, now redubbed Old Nick – and yet another macabre musical evolution. With this new line-up, the only way to go was grim. On “Survival Of The Sickest”, BLOODBATH evoke their most horrifying sonic scenarios to date, from the death-by-munching nightmare of “Malignant Maggot Therapy”, to the murderous nihilism of “Affliction Of Extinction”. A glorious comeback from a legendarily wicked musical force, “Survival Of The Sickest” provides yet more proof that BLOODBATH are the kings of the old school.

BLOODBATH add:
“If there was a declaration of goods attached to this album, it would say Florida death metal exported from Sweden.”

Iranian OUT OF NOWHERE Leave Their Home, Premiere Very Personal Music Video ‘Dying Sun’

Iranian Metalcore outfit OUT OF NOWHERE released their long-awaited song “Dying Sun” after settling in Istanbul, Turkey, on the 9th of August. Since the premiere of their last music video, “Blind Crow”, on Knotfest’s website, the band has been going through the hardships every immigrant faces. They captured these hardships in their latest creative endeavor, “Dying Sun”. Vocalist Amin says;

‘Dying Sun is closely tied to our immigration which was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do. We had to leave our homes, families, jobs, and friends to pursue what we’ve worked hard for years because there was no room for progress for us in Iran. When we arrived in Turkey, we had to go through a hard process to achieve a decent standard of living which was one of the hardest times for our band. We intended to release new music sooner, but the immigration process didn’t let us do things on schedule. But thankfully, we managed to move through these issues.’

Every immigrant will tell you how hard it is to leave everything behind and start a new life. Their new creative effort, Dying Sun sees Out of Nowhere, transfers all the raw emotions tied to the journey they’ve been through this past year, Amin continues;

‘This song is the chapter in our band’s personal diary about not letting go of our dreams in the face of adversity and working hard for the things we all believe in while also accepting the risks. I hope that Dying Sun will help anyone in a similar situation endure and keep pushing to achieve what they believe in. We chose the name Dying Sun because we are all like suns that move closer to their end each day, but we also try to keep shining despite that.’

The Turkish scene is far superior for local artists than Iran because, unlike in Iran, artists in Turkey are permitted to perform live shows and even perform at big festivals without any unnecessary concerns like government intervention. Out of Nowhere is currently working towards performing local shows in Turkey. Fans should expect several singles and eventually a twelve-song LP in the future.

Dying Sun was mixed and mastered by Joonas Vuojolahti at Cold Truth Music Studios. The music video was made by Darken Rush.

More About The Band:

Out of Nowhere first emerged from the Iranian Metal Scene in 2010. Initially influenced by Nu-Metal and Alternative acts such as System of a Down and Slipknot, they released their first album, “Man Made Disaster”, in 2013.
After a brief hiatus, the band decided to evolve their sound by combining their genre with more modern elements to form their 2016 single “Earworm.” In the subsequent years, after growing in popularity in their local scene and also after participating in different music festivals in Iran, they started performing well-known songs by established artists and making changes to these hits to fit Out of Nowhere’s distinct style of Metal, which is their take on “Pop goes Metal”.
Some examples of these musical endeavors include their performance of Sia’s “Chandelier”,  Bomfunk Mc’s “Live Your Life” and Billie Eilish’s “Lovely”. In 2019 an article from NASA referring to the year when humanity can get its hands on samples from Mars influenced the title of Out of Nowhere’s 2019 Alien-based concept album “2031”.
With “2031” the band’s sound shifted to a Djent/Progressive direction by utilizing heavy use of synths on top of breakdowns, solos, and vocals.
After this release, Out of Nowhere was involved in a German documentary about Iranian culture commissioned by ZDF. Their interview with the prominent German TV broadcaster shed some light on the difficult situations musicians face in Iran’s society and was broadcast internationally, which still remains one of the band’s proudest moments.
In 2020 the band continued releasing singles, starting with their ballad “Hope Is On The Way”. It primarily focuses on self-struggle as well as deep feelings and emotions. They also released their take on Billie Eilish’s “Lovely” in the same year.
With their 2021 single “Blind Crow” Out of Nowhere started exploring the heavier side of the musical spectrum by using elements from Deathcore music. MetalSucks premiered the song exclusively on their website while Knotfest premiered the music video of “Blind Crow” on their official website along with an interview.

Out of Nowhere are:
Amin Yahyazadeh – Vocals
Ali Mostanbet – Guitars
Kasra Jafarzadeh – Guitars
Hamid Shahcheraghi – Bass
Soroosh Kheradmand – Drums
Hossein Amjad – Manager

Finnish folk metal band FOLKRIM is set to release their second studio album On Foaming Waves on October 21st 2022 via Inverse Records. The band released a second single and music video Entwined!

The band comments:
Our last single, Crack a Cold One brought us a whole lot of positive feedback and we’re
ready to face future fights with those under our belt. Next in the chamber is ‘Entwined!’ The song has more traditional tropes and riffs sprinkled with some wordplay and theatrics. Along the song we’ll be releasing a music video featuring Finnish summer landscapes and bodies – not to mention the themes of heavy boozing. The video is penned by our very own bass artiste extraordinaire, Viktor Suominen. The artist comments: “They say that the camera adds a few kilos, but fucking 30!” We leave you with these words: Open up the entwine and get partying!”
