ORTHODOX Release Video for New Song ‘Dissolve’, New Album Out August 19th

Nashville metal band ORTHODOX have just released their new track and music video for “Dissolve”. Watch the video, HERE.

“Time kills everything,” states ORTHODOX frontman Adam Easterling.

The sound of ORTHODOX is the opposite of what most associate with the laid-back energy and country-fied twang of their native Nashville, Tennessee. ORTHODOX’s distinct, nu-metal-tinged brand of metallic hardcore has carved its own lane with their Century Media debut, Learning to Dissolve. Learning To Dissolve is the punctuation on a journey that began with 2017’s Sounds of Loss. From the inception, ORTHODOX were nothing short of a standout, blending together riffs that wouldn’t be out of place on a Slipknot record coupled with Easterling’s blunt, Jonathan Davis-esque howls. But, like their sonic brethren in Knocked Loose or Vein.FM, while the influence of the 90’s/00’s is there, ORTHODOX doesn’t merely pay homage to their influences, it exceeds them.

Written during the global pandemic and world shutdown of 2020, Learning to Dissolve was born of frustration. That is, until the singer Adam Easterling and guitarist Austin Evans began to really dig in. Recording in the dead heat of Summer with producer and mixer Randy Lebooeuf (Thy Art Is Murder, Kublai Khan) at Graphic Nature Audio in Belleville, New Jersey, found the band in creative overdrive, ripping their songs apart.

ORTHODOX have previously released music videos for “ Cave In” and “Head On A Spike”, which are off the band’s forthcoming full-length album Learning To Dissolve, out on August 19th via Century Media Records. Pre-orders are available, here.

AT THE GATES Launch ‘Garden Of Cyrus’ Video, Announce European Tour with IN FLAMES

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers AT THE GATES continue to promote their acclaimed latest studio album “The Nightmare Of Being” by launching a new video clip for the track “Garden Of Cyrus” today.

Created by long-time collaborator Costin Chioreanu / Twilight13Media, the clip for the outstanding track “Garden Of Cyrus” can now be seen below.

AT THE GATES vocalist Tomas Lindberg Redant comments about the video as follows: “For our latest video, “Garden Of Cyrus”, we have once again chosen to work with our long-time partner Costin Chioreanu. And I think it is safe to say that this time he has truly outdone himself! It is a different song, at least in death metal terms, and of course it needed a different idea for the video. Once again, we let Costin do his own interpretation of the music and the lyrics, and he has taken us on a real psychedelic journey with this one. I think this is the song on our latest album “The Nightmare Of Being” that raised the most eyebrows in the metal community. And I am proud that we as a band can still surprise people, adding another dimension to our sound, without losing the essence of what AT THE GATES is. Enjoy!”

The video supports the recent announcement of a massive tour package featuring In Flames, AT THE GATES, Imminence and Orbit Culture running between November 12th and December 17th, 2022 across all of Europe.

Tomas Lindberg Redant added the following comment about the upcoming tour with In Flames: “We are very excited about finally, being able to play in front of our European fans in support of our latest album “The Nightmare Of Being”. This time we will hit the road with our long-time friends In Flames. It’s such a weird fact that we have actually never toured together, although we are from the same town! So this will be a great opportunity to experience “The Gothenburg sound”, and it is awesome to be part of such a strong package. We can´t wait to get out there again!”

MYCELIA Drop New Music Video ‘In A Gas Station at the Outskirts of the Meth Desert’

Swiss djent metal veterans MYCELIA have just revealed a new music video entitled “In A Gas Station at the Outskirts of the Meth Desert” for their latest single. The video was directed by Theo Benjamin, and it is the second of a two-part music video double feature which concludes the overarching storyline of the band’s neon-soaked cybercrime concept album In A Late Country.

“This is the conclusion of a two-part musical short film which tells the story of In A Late Country” says drummer Marc Trummer. “In a Gas station at the Outskirts of the Meth Desert takes a sharp narrative turn from In a Late Country’s storyline. While it retains the album’s sci fi-noir aesthetic and tone, it switches the protagonists’ friendship on its head as their odyssean search for a missing woman takes a darker turn… who murdered Ava Kessler? The focus on the twists and turns of a friendship lie at the core of this release, as friendship has always been one of the most important driving forces in Mycelia. In a Late Country touches upon a range of subjects, making the protagonists’ relationship a focal part of this video very fitting.”

Mycelia’s upcoming release entitled In A Late Country is a fifteen song post-apocalyptic djent metal concept album which tells the story of a young man trying to find his lost girlfriend during a government-controlled evacuation program to deal with an overpopulated city. The vocals throughout the album are the lines from the characters in the story, sung as if they were playing out in real time. While every song on the album tells a bit of the overall storyline, the singles highlight the most pivotal twists and turns of the plot. “The Beginning of a Long Hangover” sets the stage for the concept album, introducing the main character Marvell. We discover he is accused of murdering his girlfriend and he asks his friend Di Prisco for help to find out what really happened to her. After discovering Ava was seen with the member of a terrorist organization called the Ultrahydraulists, the second single “Towards the Melting Library” has Marvell and Di Prisco attempt to communicate with the Ultrahydraulists through the librarian named Al-Kitab. After finding out that Ava wasn’t really killed, but she left the city as a part of the evacuation program, Marvell follows a lead by visiting an address. In the third single which is entitled “In A Gas Station at the Outskirts of the Meth Desert“, he discovers the police commissioner who admits that the evacuation program doesn’t exist after all, and it is actually a ruse to cover for a government-controlled genocide to reduce the ever-growing numbers of an already overpopulated city.

RIVERS OF NIHIL released The Work last Fall on Metal Blade Records. The band has never fit neatly into a box, but with 2018’s Where Owls Know My Name, they transcended all labels applied to them. Returning in 2021 with The Work, they’ve forged further into new territory, delivering an album that’s as cerebral as it is visceral, and that covers a staggering sonic range, definitively placing them in a category of their own. Inarguably a dense, heavy collection, The Work is far too dynamic to be considered a solely metal record and there is a genuine warmth that shows through, particularly tracks like “Wait” and the gorgeous “Maybe One Day.” Additionally, the band has incorporated far more clean vocals alongside the screaming that tears through many of the record’s heavier tracks. Courtesy of their friend Zach Strouse, saxophone once again adds extra layers of atmosphere to the collection, utilizing baritone, soprano, and alto saxes to great effect.

VOGELFREY have released “Flammenvogel”, the first single taken from the upcoming new studio album “Titanium” (Metalville Records – 16.09.2022).

You can watch the official video below.

Born from ashes – turned towards the sun – VOGELFREY are back and flamingly spread their wings.

After the pandemic-induced silence, the six vagabonds now rise to a musical flight of fancy that will undoubtedly sweep all listeners away. Metallically hard and yet full of folky joy, VOGELFREY let the sparks fly on their sixth studio album “Titanium” and once again refine their unique alloy of medieval and modern.

As a bonus for the limited box version, VOGELFREY present six of their most popular songs in a completely acoustic guise. “Folksnah” puts the focus completely on the folky side of the band for the first time and will also delight die-hard fans with brand new versions of vogelfreyer classics.

“Titanium” powerfully emphasises the musical and lyrical strengths from eighteen years of band history without shying away from new creative ideas.
