There’s a certain kind of electricity that only true hard rock can generate — raw, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in a legacy that refuses to fade. ROCKLUST, one of the most talked-about emerging acts in the European underground scene, are proving that this energy is not only alive, but evolving.

Today, Metalshock Finland exclusively premieres “Rocklust”, the brand-new single from Italian hard rockers Rocklust, released via Volcano Records just days ahead of their highly anticipated debut album. With this latest track, the band delivers a sharp and uncompromising statement: gritty riffs, driving rhythms, and a vocal performance that captures the raw essence of classic hard rock while keeping a modern edge. It’s a defining moment for a project that’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about names in the European underground scene.

Watch the lyric video for “Rocklust”:

A FAST-RISING PROJECT

In just a few months, Rocklust have built a solid reputation through a series of impactful singles, each highlighting a different side of their identity.

“Smoking Wheels” introduced their high-octane, adrenaline-fueled approach, rooted in the imagery and sound of classic hard rock ▶ https://youtu.be/j9clBpoo998

“Wild Crowd” captured the band’s live energy and connection with the audience, delivering a pure rock’n’roll anthem ▶ https://youtu.be/63I3lvfzmx0

With “Child Spirit”, the band revealed a more introspective side, expanding their sound into an ambitious, ‘80s-inspired ballad ▶ https://youtu.be/7SWVAWMZfxE

Blending consistency, attitude, and a clear artistic vision, Rocklust are proving that classic hard rock can still feel urgent and relevant. With the debut album around the corner, “Rocklust” is more than just a single — it’s the final spark before the explosion.

FRONTLINE Unveil New Video Single ‘After You’re Gone’ from Upcoming Album

Melodic rockers Frontline have unveiled a new single, “After You’re Gone”, along with an official video, ahead  of the release of their new studio album, “Rebirth”, out on May 15, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.

The band stated: “The song shows a more emotional and reflective side of “Rebirth”. It’s about that moment when the pain begins to clear, when silence replaces the noise, and you finally see things for what they are. There are both sadness and strength in it, relief, and a sense of moving forward. For us, it’s a song about letting go without losing what was real, wrapped in the kind of melody and atmosphere that has always been part of Frontline’s identity.”

Pre-Order “Rebirth” HERE

With “Rebirth”, German melodic rock pioneers Frontline return with a powerful and emotional statement, opening a new chapter in a career that has helped define European AOR since the late 1980s.

The band commented on the record, by saying: “Rebirth” truly reflects what this album stands for. After more than 20 years of silence, it’s our resurrection as a band. We wanted to honor our legacy and, most importantly, the fans who kept Frontline alive all these years, while bringing our signature melodies, hooks, and emotions into the present. This album opens a new chapter without forgetting where we come from”.

Founded in Nuremberg in 1989, Frontline quickly established themselves as one of the genre’s leading acts, built around the unmistakable voice of Stephan Kämmerer and a songwriting approach rooted in strong melodies, big hooks and album-oriented vision.

Over the years, Frontline released a string of acclaimed albums including the genre-defining debut “The State Of Rock” (1994), followed by “Two Faced”, “Heroes”, “Right Attitude”, “Against The World”, “The Seventh Sign”, and “Circles”, earning an international reputation as one of Germany’s most respected AOR exports. Their sound blends soaring vocals, melodic guitar work and polished production, inspired by the golden era of late ’80s and early ’90s hard rock, with a distinct European character.

Following the passing of guitarist and songwriter Robby Böbel in 2022, “Rebirth” represents both a tribute to the band’s legacy and a step forward into new creative territory. The album features the original singer Stephan Kämmerer alongside new guitarist and producer Christian Mühlroth, whose fresh energy and musical vision play a key role in shaping this new era of Frontline.

Comprised of 14 brand new AOR tracks, “Rebirth” delivers a direct, no frills melodic rock approach, driven by anthemic, uplifting and sparkling choruses, emotional performances and confident songwriting. The singles “Two Tickets To The Afterglow”, “Burning Horizon” and “After You’re Gone” highlight the band’s ability to balance classic AOR values with renewed intensity and focus.

“Rebirth” is more than a comeback – it is a reaffirmation of Frontline’s identity and a celebration of melody, emotion and the timeless spirit of AOR, reborn for today and ready for the future.

THE INTEMPERATE SONS Release New Single + Music Video ‘Chew’

Alt-Rockers, The Intemperate Sons, have released their new track, “Chew,” from their upcoming third studio album, Ephemera, set for release in Spring 2026.

The Intemperate Sons keep pushing the envelope with their latest single, “Chew.”

This track channels that raw, haunting edge of classic goth rock, but twists it into something unmistakably alt-rock—ghostly atmospherics wrapped around jagged guitars, haunting synth, and a vocal delivery that feels like it’s clawing its way out of the shadows.

At its core, “Chew” forces the question:

If you had to lose a crucial piece of who you are… or face something even darker and more sinister on the other side… which poison would you swallow?

Stream/Download “Chew”:

The Intemperate Sons release all their music through the Frame|Work record label at the direction of Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck. All Intemperate Sons’ tracks are mixed by Amir Derakh at Synthicide in Long Beach, CA.

In the sweltering Dallas summer of 2019, before the onset of a global pandemic, The Intemperate Sons were born from blood, grit, and a shared obsession with the ghosts of alternative rock’s golden age. The Watson family—Keith on drums, Jake on guitars, and Max on vocals, guitars, and keys—joined forces with longtime friend and bassist Mark Marks to create a sound that’s equal parts searing riffs, haunting harmonies, and unapologetic soul. Think Alice in Chains’ brooding intensity, Stone Temple Pilots’ swagger, and R.E.M.’s poetic undercurrent, all filtered through a ‘70s rock haze that refuses to play it safe.

This isn’t just a band; it’s a family affair, where the unspoken bond between father and sons fuels every chord and lyric. Keith, a Dallas stage veteran, pens lyrics that cut deep—tales of regret, resilience, and the chaos of the human condition. Jake’s guitar lines, sharp yet soulful, weave narratives of their own, while Max’s voice carries the weight of a 25-year-old who’s lived a lifetime in his head. Mark, the groove-obsessed bassist, ties it all together.

The Intemperate Sons hit the ground running, catching the ear of rock heavyweights Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh (Orgy, Dead By Sunrise, Julien-K), who signed them to their Frame|Work label in 2021. Even a global pandemic couldn’t derail their momentum—holed up in The Kitchen Recording Studios, they crafted their debut album, The Color Within (2022), with tracks like “Dust to Dust” and “Running Man” that pulse with raw emotion and retro grit. Collaborations with legends like Tony Franklin (Whitesnake, The Firm) on singles like “Running Man” and “Dust to Dust” and Derakh’s production on singles like “Game of Keep Away” and “Dark Day’s Night” featured on their second and highly successful album, Dark Day’s Night (2024) pushed their sound further, blending post-grunge edge with folk and hard rock undercurrents.

For fans of alternative rock, this band is a throwback and a revelation—a reminder of why you fell in love with the genre’s raw honesty and a promise that its spirit still burns. The Intemperate Sons aren’t chasing trends; they’re carving their own path, one riff, one lyric, one night at a time.performing tracks that scratch deep into the backbone of the human experience. There is no shortage of darkness in their writing style which has a retro vibe with many guitar driven tracks stacked on top of a groovy rhythm section. The heavier style fits perfectly with the two and three-part vocal harmonies that are a huge part of their overall sound. It has been said that musicians that are related form unique sounds and communicate on a frequency only they can understand. This frequency has become engrained in their songwriting, arrangements, guitar melodies and vocal harmonies. The band has been compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and even R.E.M.

The Intemperate Sons are:
Max Watson (vocals, backing vocals, guitars, keys, bass)
Jake Watson (guitars, bass and backing vocals)
Keith Watson (drums, backing vocals)
Mark Marks (bass)

The Intemperate Sons Show Dates:
Saturday APRIL 25 @ Underdog Restaurant & Sports Club in Dallas, TX
Friday MAY 15 @ Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA w/ Gene Loves Gezebel, Vanta After Dark

VISCERA/// Sign to Time To Kill Records for Release of New Full-Length Album “4. Assets for Psychedelic Warfare”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on April 21, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: VISCERA. Leave a comment

Time To Kill Records is proud to announce the signing of VISCERA///, long regarded as one of the most distinctive and uncompromising acts within the Italian underground scene, for the release of their new full-length album, “4. Assets for Psychedelic Warfare”.

Marking the band’s return with a full-length record after nine years since the previous album, “4. Assets for Psychedelic Warfare” comes as the result of a long and meticulous songwriting process, shaped by an adventurous approach that pushed the band’s sonic identity into new and unexpected territories. The album expands the group’s already well-established extreme music foundations – where the glacial heaviness of Godflesh often meets the raw urgency of black metal and grindcore – by introducing a stronger presence of psychedelic textures and dark wave influences, further emphasized through a more prominent and deliberate use of clean vocals. The result is a sound that feels at once hallucinatory, melancholic and deeply unsettling.

With “4. Assets for Psychedelic Warfare”, VISCERA/// bring their psychedelic and gloomy aura to its most extreme expression to date, while remaining firmly anchored in their trademark aesthetic. The record embodies and renews the principles that have defined the band across 26 years of activity: nonconformity, rawness and melancholia.

For those in search of something genuinely fresh and forward-thinking, VISCERA/// deliver a compelling answer.

Further details about the album and the first single will be revealed soon.

Italian progressive rock band Kingcrow are releasing an acoustic version of “New Moon Harvest”, a song from their latest critically-acclaimed album Hopium. The acoustic version is available now on all digital streaming platforms.

The video was filmed in a treehouse with the full Kringcrow lineup, capturing the performance in an intimate, stripped-back setting that contrasts with the atmospheric density of Hopium.

Hopium is out now on Season of Mist. Order & stream: https://orcd.co/kingcrowhopium

Hopium draws on progressive rock, ambient music, alternative rock and trip-hop, with references that span from Porcupine Tree and Radiohead to Leprous, Archive and Massive Attack. Within the album, “New Moon Harvest” is caught in the tension between the search for one’s inner self and the outside pressures from everyday life.

2. Glitch (3:56)
3. Parallel Lines (6:46)

The first incarnation of the band  was originally founded in Rome, Italy, by brothers Diego Cafolla (guitars) and Manuel Thundra Cafolla (drums) under the name of “Earth Shaker”.

Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s poem “Raven” and driven by a will of change, the band’s name was soon altered into KINGCROW and a couple of self-produced demos/albums where recorded under the KINGCROW moniker : Something Unknown(2001), Insider (2004) and Timetropia (2006).

In the early months of 2010 the band finished recording their new album “Phlegethon” that was released in June of the same year under the “Scarlet Records” label.

It was considered on an international level as a relevant masterpiece and was classed as one of the elite progressive metal albums of the year. It has been near the top of the “album of the year” charts in some international prog-rock websites. Phlegethon promotion lasted for about two years and a half.

During the same year, the band recorded the new album “In Crescendo” that was released in February 2013 by the American label “Sensory Records.

The band toured  along with Pain Of Salvation in North America  in April and May, 2013. In 2015 the band released the album “Eidos” and toured Europe as Headliners. Meanwhile KINGCROW signed a management deal with GlassVille Music, house of very well known progressive acts like Pain Of Salvation and Riverside among others.

The band recorded the new album titled “The Persistence”.

The album was released on September 7th via Sensory Records and received great reviews and ended on a lot of “best of 2018” lists on magazines and webzines.

The upcoming album “Hopium” marks another step forward in pushing boundaries remarking the restless progressive  attitude of the band in incorporating countless influences into a personal sound.

Describing the band today is quite a difficult task, but one could state that the influence of different kinds of music, from progressive rock , ambient music, alternative rock and metal are all present in the music of KINGCROW.

CRIPPLE BASTARDS are set to release their brand new EP “La tua foto sul marmo” on June 12, 2026 via F.O.A.D. Records.

While the format might suggest a minor release, this record stands as a remarkably significant statement from the Italian veterans. Showcasing an impressive range of new facets, the EP delivers fresh and compelling songwriting – no small feat for a band with decades of history behind them.

The name CRIPPLE BASTARDS has always been synonymous with uncompromising hate-fueled grind, yet these new tracks reveal intriguing developments: frequent tempo shifts, dynamic structures and a guitar work that, alongside the expected sonic assault, ventures into more subtle and suspenseful territories. Moments of tension and unpredictability keep the listener constantly on edge, wondering what will come next.

The music was recorded by Stefano Santi at SPVN Studio, while vocals were tracked by Carlo Altobelli at Toxic Basement Studio, with mixing and mastering also handled by Stefano Santi.

“La tua foto sul marmo” ultimately stands as a powerful manifesto of the unrelenting hunger that still drives this legendary band forward.

The trailer of the first single, “L’era della dispersione“, is now streaming HERE.

Tracklist:

01. Il respiro si chiude
02. Scarto del rimorso
03. Vendicativo
04. La tua foto sul marmo
05. L’era della dispersione
06. Ai confini di quel che puoi dire

Formed in March 1988 in Asti, northern Italy, CRIPPLE BASTARDS are one of the longest-running and most respected names in extreme underground music. What began as a raw collaboration between teenage misfits Giulio the Bastard and Alberto the Crippler quickly evolved into something far greater: a project rooted in the legacy of Italian hardcore acts like Negazione, Raw Power and Wretched, but pushed to new extremes through the emerging language of grindcore and noisecore.

After building a fierce reputation through demos, splits, and relentless DIY activity in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the band achieved global cult status, so much so that not knowing them almost feels like having lived under a rock. Their legacy is ultimately defined by a series of uncompromising full-length albums that shaped their identity and influence across decades.

Their debut album “Your Lies in Check” (1996) marked their official arrival on the international stage, followed by the highly acclaimed “Misantropo a senso unico” (2000), which further refined their bleak, nihilistic vision. The final breakthrough came with “Desperately Insensitive” (2003): widely distributed and repeatedly repressed, it became their best-selling record, surpassing 10,000 copies – an exceptional achievement in the grindcore world.

The band continued to evolve with “Variante alla morte” (2008), recorded in Sweden’s famed Studio Fredman, and “Frammenti di vita” (2010), a release that pays tribute to the Italian hardcore roots that inspired them. A major milestone followed with their signing to Relapse Records, which released “Nero in metastasi” (2014), a mature and devastating work that expanded their global reach even further. Their seventh full-length, “La fine cresce da dentro” (2018), confirmed a band still pushing forward creatively after three decades.

Beyond the studio, CRIPPLE BASTARDS have built an unmatched live reputation, playing hundreds of shows worldwide across Europe, the United States, Japan, Brazil, and Australia. They have shared stages with genre-defining acts and have appeared at major underground festivals such as Neurotic Deathfest, Brutal Assault, Obscene Extreme and Maryland Deathfest, among many others, earning the utmost respect from veterans of the extreme music scene.

Today, CRIPPLE BASTARDS are not just an Italian institution but a global cult phenomenon. Their enduring influence, uncompromising visio, and relentless activity have secured them a legendary status that transcends borders. An essential name in grindcore history that continues to inspire new generations worldwide.

“In being a surviving unit like Cripple Bastards for some 35+ odd years, it takes much persistance, perseverance and an undying spirit to wreck yourself, all out with Brutal-Fucking-Grind. Yeah, I said it. I said Brutal, so what. Brutal. That’s the supposed overused adjective that most ‘heavy’ band bios and descriptions overlook nowadays for fear of oversaturation or an unoriginal ‘old school’ repetitiveness. Thats the one word in the dictionary that C.B. should have fucking copywritten a long time ago. It fits them. It defines them. It IS them. Cripple Bastards are indelibly BRUTAL. In all ways; music, violence, artwork, attitude, politics. All born of this represenatitive and passionately destructive word. The mere fact that C.B. even exist confirms they OWN the goddamn word. C.B. are B-R-U-T-A-L. Understand it NOW. “

(Mike IX Williams, EyeHateGod / Arson Anthem / Outlaw Order 00%)
