Italian trap-metal artist Marco Calanca aka BECKO, known for his love of anime and his dynamic ability to fuse genres, returns to take on Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” (A Deal With God) made popular again by the Netflix show Stranger Things. The new electropop cover features a dynamic fusion of synths and beats laced together with a charismatic vocal performance from Becko for an overall somber atmosphere and showcasing his wide range of vocal talent and production abilities.
“I’ve loved the 4th season of stranger things,” says Becko. “And this song represents the best part of the show!“
“Running Up The Hill (A Deal With God)” is out now from independent multi-genre label FiXT.
Rising from the ashes of post hardcore band Hopes Die Last, Italian multi-genre producer, musician, and vocalist Marco Calanca created Becko as a solo project, uniting influences of EDM, Hip-Hop, Industrial, and Emo-Rock. With previous releases under his belt with labels ranging from Warner Italy and Universal Italy, to Monstercat, Lowly Palace, and Smash the House since 2014, Becko found a new home in early 2020, signing a multi-album deal with the independent, artist-owned/operated USA-based electronic-rock label FiXT, founded by genre-pioneering artist & producer Klayton (Celldweller, Circle of Dust). In 2020, Becko released the full-length album INNER SELF, as a triumphant fusion of trap & metal. In 2021 Becko released a flurry of singles including “Darkest Days” which was produced by Mike Shinoda all on the path leading up to the release of his second full-length trap-metal album with FiXT, You Are (Not) Alone, which dropped in early 2022
French technical death metallers CATALYST have officially joined forces with one of the most passionate labels in the extreme metal Non Serviam Records.
The band comments on the signing news: “We are proud to announce that our sophomore album will be released by the highly qualitative Dutch record label Non Serviam Records! Set of years of hard work, it is with immense pleasure that we will work in synergy with this label. Non Serviam Records is a house which always focuses on quality, with only a few releases per year, fully concentrating on each effort they put out. Therefore, we know that signing with them will perfectly match our expectations for this second opus, with a tailor-made experience for the band. The whole Catalyst crew is thrilled to begin this new adventure with Non Serviam Records as we are convinced that the work provided by its runner Ricardo Gelok perfectly fits our artistic vision. We can’t wait to share with you this epic and extreme journey throughout our new songs.”
Ricardo Gelok, Non Serviam Records owner continues: ” I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the first notes of the new Catalyst promo. I knew right away that this was a band I would like to sign with the label. Technical Death Metal, which is nevertheless very accessible and also pleasant to listen to.”
Founded in 2017 by Jules Kicka, CATALYST is a 4-piece death metal act from France, dragging the old-school sound forward to open it up to a more contemporary, technical and progressive shade, apart from its kind. After a well-received debut EP “Dawn Of A Dreadful Fate” (2017) and the critically acclaimed album “The Great Purpose Of The Lords” (2019), CATALYST are now ready to unleash their devastating sophomore album in Fall 2022.
More details about the new album and a first taste of what ithas to offer will be unveiled soon.

Connecticut-based Northeast death metal powerhouse VOMIT FORTH have released their new song and video for “Carnivorous Incantation”. Watch the music video HERE.
Band comments:
“Carnivorous Incantation is somewhat of a self-reflective song,” states VOMIT FORTH vocalist Kane Gelaznik about the track. “ It’s about the effects of abuse on our psyche. Abuse begets abuse like some horrible spell cast on us all. The song is a way of trying to externalize, understand, and move past trauma. This video is intentionally unnerving and spastic. We wanted the video to stick with you because of the subject matter of the song. That’s a big reason we decided to go with 8498. I hope this helps victims of abuse of any kind to move past their trauma.”
“Carnivorous Incantation” is the second track, following “Predatory Savious”, released off VOMIT FORTH’s forthcoming full-length album, “Seething Malevolence”, which is set for release on July 8th. While the band is known for a sound that borrows from the underappreciated East Coast death metal blueprint belched up from bands like Internal Bleeding and Scattered Remnants, Seething Malevolence expands to more experimental and unexpected sounds, refracting the band’s love for the likes of Napalm Death or Full of Hell. Seething Malevolence delivers on the promise of everything VOMIT FORTH has hinted at so far Northeast death metal.
Metal Blade is proud to welcome DEFLESHED to its Worldwide roster. From the mid-90s to 2005, Sweden’s DEFLESHED churned out a hot blend of thrash, death metal and grindcore, marking themselves as one of the most vital bands in all three of those genres. Having run out of inspiration and wanting to try other things they called it a day the same year they released their fifth album Reclaim The Beat, and ever since fans have hollered for their reunion. In 2021 they got what they were asking for when the band’s core lineup – guitarist Lars Löfven, drummer Matte Modin and bassist/vocalist Gustaf Jorde – got back together. They released the Fleshless And Wild single the same year and are now looking forward to releasing another full-length in the fall!
Comments Defleshed: “We are excited to announce that Metal Blade will be releasing our first album in 17 years, “Grind Over Matter”! Having been fans to bands on this label since our teenage years, it’s an honour to be added to their roster. Nashville metal band ORTHODOX have just announced their new full-length album Learning To Dissolve, which is set for release on August 19th. To celebrate the album announcement, the band have released their new track and music video for “Head On A Spike ”.
Watch the video, which was directed by Nick Chance, HERE.
Band comments:
“This is essentially the first song I have ever written to gloat about my backbone,” states ORTHODOX frontman Adam Easterling about “Head On A Spike”. “Orthodox as a band has been called ‘corny’ and been continually overlooked year in, year out. But we haven’t given up. This is a song to anyone who thinks we should’ve thrown in the towel, because we don’t feel like we’ve even peaked.”
