Finland’s CIMINERO Sign To Argonauta Records, New Album Coming

Following their much acclaimed, 2019-debut Subterranean Awakening, recorded just 5 months after the band’s first rehearsal, Helsinki-based CIMINERO have inked a worlwide deal with Italy’s heavy music label Argonauta Records!

Frontlady Valentina comments: “Ciminero is excited to be part of the Argonauta family. We are based in Finland, yet we have a strong connection with Italy. I am Italian and it reflects also in our music, as some of our songs are written in Italian. We are proud to be supported by and collaborate with Argonauta.”

CIMINERO plays a heavy mixture of doom, occult rock and stoner, add a dose of captivating melodies and psychedelic moments, one could imagine a descendant born from the unholy covenant of Blood Ceremony and Cathedral, whose journey has been long without forgetting the origins. Formed in late 2018, their music began to flow unstoppably which led to their first album Subterranean Awakening. Instead of touring and to support their critically acclaimed debut due to the world’s lockdown, CIMINERO used their time in the most possible creative way, and focussed on album number #2 right away. The band’s sophomore studio album will be released through Argonauta Records, with more details to follow in the weeks ahead.

“I got the chance to drown myself into CIMINERO ceremonies thanks to their previous album a few years ago,“ says Argonauta Records owner, Gero Lucisano. “I was immediately impressed by the occult vibes of the songs, with the singer Valentina being an authentic priestess. I feel lucky to have been offered the chance to work with their new opus, even more occult and plenty of obscure emanations. This will be outstanding!”

📸 Premortal Breath – 🎨 Very Metal Art

German’s Heavy metallers PREMORTAL BREATH are set to release their new 7-track EP “Of Angels And Wolves” on September 10th.

PREMORTAL BREATH is modern HEAVY METAL with a variety of influences combined into a melodic but hard whole. Captivating guitar melodies, rousing choruses, spot-on drumming, grooving bass-lines and much, much more.

All of these are just puzzle pieces in the bigger picture that is PREMORTAL BREATH. The multi-layered lyrics deal with topics like terrorism, psychological problems and the abysses of our society.

TRACKLIST:

  1. Circle 04:18
  2. Of Angels And Wolves 04:44
  3. But I’m Not Afraid (feat. Stu Block) 03:37
  4. Wordless 04:27
  5. Hourglass 04:23
  6. Fuck My Brain 05:23
  7. Spartan (Bonus Track) 03:24

total: 30:25 min.

PREMORTAL BREATH was founded in 2010 by Thomas ‘Tommy’ Greulich (vocals) and Thomas ‘Potti’ Pettrich (drums). A first line-up was completed by Armin Rosen (guitar) and Tobias ‘Tobbe’ Eymer (bass). Shortly after, two first songs were recorded at Beat House Studio.

After some changes in the line-up, the next stable line-up was completed by Dominik ‘Domme’ Eymer (bass) and Sebastian ‘Seb’ Herbold (guitar). In the meantime Tobias had switched to guitar, while singer and drummer remained the same. In 2014 the band recorded the first album “They” in this line-up.

The line-up remained constant until 2016 when founding member and drummer Potti announced his departure to have more time for his family. Some time passed until Andreas ‘Andy’ Reichard joined as a permanent member after having acted as a live drummer in the meantime.

LINE-UP:
Thomas ‘Tommy’ Greulich • Vocals
Sebastian ‘Seb’ Herbold • Guitars
Tobias ‘Tobbe’ Eymer • Guitars
Mathias ‘Matze’ Ruppold • Bass
Andreas ‘Andy’ Reichard • Drums

Full of energy and creativity, the formation recorded the second work “Monsters” in spring 2018.

2021 brought with it the departure of longtime bassist Domme as well as the arrival of Matthias ‘Matze’ Ruppel, who is now responsible for the low frequencies.

The pandemic had caused many plans to be put on hold, so PREMORTAL BREATH were euphoric to revisit Empire Studios in 2022 to record their new release “Of Angels And Wolves“.

“I had the pleasure and honor of touring Europe with Survive and they proved themselves to be a valuable asset to the touring package. I can say without hesitation or reservations that they were most definitely my favorite band on the tour. Incredibly nice and gracious guys who obviously loved their music and delivered every single night.
I gave them the nickname ‘The Japanese Machine Head’ a song that they played at every sound check became the tour anthem because of its wonderful chorus structure. Melody, hook lines and brutally heavy guitar riffs define this amazing band who deserve global recognition. Maximum Respect from Jeff (Mantas)”

Still going strong, SURVIVE‘s latest album “Immortal Warriors” was released to the Japanese market on September 12th, 2018 and a year later, on September 24th 2019, the album is out worldwide via Sliptrick Records. Denver, CO -based progressive metallers DREADNOUGHT will issue their fifth full-length album,The Endless, on August 26 2022 via Profound Lore Records. Pre-orders are available via https://linktr.ee/dreadnoughtdenver

Featuring six brand new tracks spanning over 41 minutes, with their new album the band presents their most spellbinding musical feature yet. With riveting vocal performances, ferocious grooves, and soaring synthesis, the quartet offers a familiarity to the melodic awe of previous records “Lifewoven” (2013) and “Bridging Realms”(2015) as well as the dark complexities within “A Wake In Sacred Waves” (2017) and “Emergence”(2019), but with a beautifully fresh perspective in writing, production, and performance.

Following the previously-released, first single “Midnight Moon“, today, Dreadnought have shared a video for new single “Gears Of Violent Endurance”! Just exclusively premiered with Decibel and Deaf Forever magazine, you can now watch the new clip for “Gears Of Violent Endurance” here:

The band comments: “Gears of Violent Endurance is a reflection on the continual cycle of human violence throughout the ages. Despite our ability to do better, the human ego continues to entangle us in war and atrocities world wide. We hope to elevate the idea that kindness and patience is key to a better life and the sustainability of our world.“

The Endless was produced, mixed, and mastered by Pete de Boer of World Famous Studios. Artwork by Reza Afshar, photos by Frank Guerra, and design by Arcangel Impressions, Shane McCarthy, and Kelly Schilling.

SUPERSONIC BLUES MACHINE Release New Lyric Video ‘Money’

Fresh off the release of their latest album ‘Voodoo Nation,’ which AllMusic.com called the band’s “finest outing to date,” SUPERSONIC BLUES MACHINE have released a lyric video for “Money,” the album’s opening track. A blistering lead off to ‘Voodoo Nation’, out now via Provogue Records/Mascot Label Group, which features guest appearances from Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Eric Gales, Joe Louis Walker, Ana Popovic, Kirk Fletcher, and more, “Money” tackles themes of greed and disrespect in society today. “Greed alone is not the ultimate problem,” explains says bassist Fabrizio Grossi. “It’s greed combined with the lack of respect for everybody else.”

“Voodoo Nation refers to the times we’re living in, at least here in the States, but I guess the whole world can relate,” he adds. “We’re getting to the point where we’re living out life almost as Zombies. We’re little machines.”

But there is always hope, which is what Supersonic Blues Machine has always been about.

You And Me (med King Solomon Hicks)
Get It Done (med Josh Smith)
8 Ball Lucy (med Sonny Landreth)
Devil At The Doorstep (med Eric Gales)
Is It All (med Joe Louis Walker)
Do It Again (med Ana Popovic)
I Will Let Go (med Kirk Fletcher)
Voodoo Nation
All Our Love (med Charlie Starr)

At the core of the band is producer/bass player Fabrizio Grossi (Steve Vai, Alice Cooper, George Clinton, Slash) and drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Meat Loaf, Brandon Flowers, John Fogerty, Red Hot Chili Peppers) with British rocker Kris Barras replacing Lance Lopez as singer-guitarist. Barras has a recent UK Top 30 album chart hit in March himself, and he is leading the pack of the British hard rock revival with several A-list singles, BBC Radio appearances and sell-out shows.

Voodoo Nation is the band’s third studio album. “Kris comes from this British school of hard rock and blues,” Grossi says. “This is a different sound to Kenny and me with the Allman Brothers, Sly Stone & The Family & Mountain. On Californisoul (2017), we were going more West Coast Funkadelic 60s and overall jam vibe. Blues but with more of a hippy flower power. With Kris, we wanted his footprint there, so that’s why you hear Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Gary Moore. Kind of a Union Jack imprint over a Star-Spangled Banner.”

The lyrical front on Voodoo Nation is less forgiving than everything in the past. “I’m not saying fuck flower power because that’s always the message,” Grossi says. “But there are very introspective things and a lot of the theatrics that we are dealing with on this record which I would say are fairly common in the blues but are dealt with a twist. There is a lot of Devil’s stuff in this record.”

Louisiana slide-god Sonny Landreth features on the haunting “8 Ball Lucy.” The song is a story about it being “easy to fall into temptation when you’re broken down and somebody comes along saying all the right things. That’s the true Devil, and she’s so good at playing her cards,” he says. The 8-minute “Devil at the Doorstep” features Eric Gales – whose recent album Crown was a #1 Blues Billboard hit. “With Eric, it can start as a 3-minute 12 bars Blues and morph into an epic Led Zeppelin Dazed and Confused thing. I also think it’s a perfect soundtrack for a horror movie…If the story wasn’t real!” he adds.

They underline problems faced by musicians on “Coming Thru” and “Get It Done” – the latter features Josh Smith and “Do It Again” is another firecracker that rounds off the theme with Ana Popovic. Young Harlem blues-sensation King Solomon Hicks features on the call to arms “You and Me.” The band’s trademark soulful blues sound can be heard beautifully on “I Will Let It Go,” featuring Kirk Fletcher, and the sumptuous “Is It All” with the legendary Joe Louis Walker.  The album closes with the inspirational Rootsy Rock “All Our Love” featuring Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr.

The song came together in the summer of 2020 whilst there were the biggest fires in living memory in California. “I was dropping off donated clothes in Woodland Hills. We were heading down through the infamous 405 and were literally driving through fire – on both sides of the road.”

“I realized that we’re in one of the world’s richest cities, and there’s discontent, plus climate change and everything else going on. How is this happening? It’s total devastation. I was like, no, no, we need a major reset here. For all the wrongs in the world to be fixed, it requires all our love. That’s the song, a message of hope,” Grossi ends.
