Press your hands together and bow your heads to praise “The Lighthouse”, the newest song and music video by Texas-based New Southern Gothic outfit OCEANS OF SLUMBERHERE
Directed by Angela Herr and Bianca Greene, OCEANS OF SLUMBER teamed up with FirstSight Agency to produce this cinematic music video following the emotional journey of a charismatic post-apocalyptic cult leader.
Vocalist Cammie Beverly says about the song and video: “In true story-telling fashion, ‘The Lighthouse’ evokes the frenzied emotions of the evangelical south’s dangerous religious leanings. Leading with an ominous gospel, ‘The Lighthouse’ is a song as dark and atmospheric as the humid air that hangs heavy in our region.”
Fronted by the inimitable power, range, and grace of vocalist Cammie Beverly, “Starlight and Ash” posits OCEANS OF SLUMBER in a league of their own. This is as much eloquent extensions of famed singer-songwriters Nick Cave and Chris Stapleton as it is the heartbreaking pulse of Type O Negative and Katatonia. “Starlight and Ash” isn’t Metal, but its edges are. The album, that is set for a release July 22nd, was produced by Joel Hamilton (Violet Road, Battle of Mice) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Yes, Voivod). Its stunning artwork was created by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Heaven Shall Burn and many more).

Hungarian instrumental progressive rock band GHOST TOAST released a new music video Get Rid Of. The track is taken from their fifth studio album Shade Without Color which was released earlier this year via Inverse Records.
The band comments: “Get Rid Of is the opening song from the new Ghost Toast album called Shade Without Color (released on March 3rd 2022 via Inverse Records).
We believe that everyone wants to get rid of at least some of their burdens – we use music to get free from most of them and hope that others can use our music for something similar. The Woman played by Zsuzsanna Nyeste, the video is made by Tamás Varga from Brownhandfilm.”
Liar Thief Bandit release the fifth single from their upcoming mini-album “Diamonds”. “Peace with Disaster” is an intense classic rock track featuring electrifying twin guitar melodies and uplifting vocals. Besides the new single, the Swedish power trio also confirms new live dates.
Liar Thief Bandit on the new single:
Peace with Disaster is a song about hitting rock bottom, realizing it and taking the first steps toward a new era. It was written in a changing time emotionally, in between a definite ending and a new beginning in life. If there’s any message to be delivered with this song, it would be that it’s sometimes important to admit defeat to be able to gather strength to carry on with an optimistic state of mind. Hope is the last thing that leaves us!

September 30, 2022 will see alternative/garage rock and soul-grunge outfit BLITZPØP debut their first EP, entitled MDMA. The up-and-coming band, featuring MOTHER’S CAKE frontman Yves, GIANT ANTEATER vocalist Pia, bassist Alex of THE VINTAGE CARAVAN and Kajetan on drums, unleashes a new wave of a straightforward sound and a “Fuck off the deep shit“ attitude, combining alternative, grunge and garage rock elements with a fuzzy dose of the soul and electronica funk. Their rough yet melodic and heavily groovin‘ debut should please fans of 90’s rock and grunge era in the likes of Hole and Nirvana, Dead Weather, The Distillers or The Kills, but stands out due to its very own touch and strong individuality.
But give ear, as following the previously-released, first single and EP title track, “MDMA”, today BLITZPØP has shared a music video for new song “Spirit Of Times”! Says extraordinary vocalist Pia: “Spirit of Times reminds us of an unforgettable time we spent in Portugal where we also shot the video. Beautiful days we’ll never forget.
For us this song is all about freedom, good vibes, good times where you can forget all your bad feelings and problems. We’re glad to bring you a new track and hope you’ll like this song as much as we do.”
BLITZPØP’s upcoming debut was recorded by Raphaël Neikes, Manuel Renner and Tom Kornis at Chaos AD Studios and at Moonwalker Productions. The EP was mixed by Raphaël Neikes at Moonwalker Productions and mastered by Tom Kornis at Chaos AD Studio.
As guitarist Yves recently commented: “Blitzpøp is all about crazy songwriting with mainly naughty and painfully recognizable lyrics. Most Important for us was to not think too much about what we create, it should simply kick ass!
We wrote the songs in our small dirty flat which was the perfect environment for that kind of music. We started to produce the song ideas ’till we had about 10 tracks. What was missing was the band. Pia and I started to call some friends like the awesome drummer Kai and the hammering bass player Alex (The Vintage Caravan)…a few minutes later bllitzpøp was born!
We hope all you Pøppers will have as much fun while listening as we had while creating it!”
MDMA will be issued by the band directly on September 30, 2022, and you can you pre-save the EP at THIS LOCATION.
AMERICAN TERROR, the heavy punk/metal band based out of Atlanta, has revealed a new single, “Self-Control”, out now. The track, an aggressive and thrashy exhibit of frustrations against selfish government leaders, is available on Spotify here and all major digital platforms, with its accompanying lyric video out now on YouTube. This follows their previous single, “End Of America”, and precedes their sophomore album, Where We Are, which will be released on July 8th, 2022.
AMERICAN TERROR’s critically-acclaimed debut record, Influencer, arrived in May 2020 and led to the band quickly tallying up 350,000+ streams. The album, which was released by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson’s EMP Label Group, arrived on the heels of the success of the singles “Judgement” and “She’s A Bitch”. These two tracks quickly built momentum for the band, thanks to features on Spotify’s editorial and algorithmic playlists, in addition to spots on hundreds of user playlists. Prominent rock media outlets took notice and covered the band’s progress, including iHeartRadio, Revolver Magazine, KNAC, Blabbermouth, BraveWords, and Ultimate-Guitar. The band recently made Influencer available in translucent red vinyl LP, CD, and HD download formats, which are available to purchase at their official web store at https://americanterrorband.com/shop.
Influencer was followed up by a hard-hitting, genre-bending remix of “Judgement” featuring legendary rapper Sticky Fingaz (known for his group Onyx’s hit “Slam” & his feature on Eminem‘s The Marshall Mathers LP; also, a 2020 ASCAP songwriter award-winner for his work with Travis Scott). The one-off single “Legend”, a cover of a lost track from classic hip-hop group House of Pain, followed in February 2021. The band then teamed up with world-renowned rapper Krizz Kaliko (a frequent fixture of Tech N9ne’s records and his Strange Music label over the past two decades) to release a remix of their single “She’s A Bitch”. This release was followed by the aggressive, snotty, and uptempo “Attitude”, the first single from their upcoming sophomore album.
AMERICAN TERROR’s releases are engineered, produced, and mixed by vocalist Brad Cox at his Black Paw Studios in Lawrenceville, GA. Brad recently co-wrote, produced, and mixed the Billboard chart hit “Like ‘Em Wild” for rap/country duo Moonshine Bandits and is partners in the publishing company Black Paw Music with legendary producer Mike Clink (Guns N’ Roses, Megadeth, Metallica). The band began as a studio project featuring members of Skid Row (drummer Rob Hammersmith), Sugar Ray (ex-bassist Murphy Karges), Phunk Junkeez (DJ Soulman), and Grayson Manor (singer Brad Cox and guitarist Pat Valley). However, upon receiving highly-enthusiastic feedback from new fans and press outlets, they decided to continue their path forward with touring and multiple releases in mind, leaving Brad, Pat, Rob and fellow Grayson Manor alumnus GK Via to take over those duties.
