CHARLOTTE WESSELS Present Cinematic Music Video for ‘Afkicken’

Tales From Six Feet Under, the first solo endeavor of former Delain singer and songwriter CHARLOTTE WESSELS, was released via Napalm Records in fall 2021, and debuts a song in her native language, Dutch rocker “Afkicken”. Today, Wessels’ has released a breathtaking new full production music video for the song, which marks the last video for Tales From Six Feet Under at the same time.

“Afkicken”, the compilation’s second track, enchants with electronic industrial vibes and a flattering vocal performance while conjuring a hauntingly dark atmosphere wrapping around from the very first tone. It’s another inimitable proof of Wessels’ multifaceted nature and wide artistic range, heating the anticipation even more for everything that is to come in the future!

“From the moment I finished the track “Afkicken” – my very first song in Dutch, I desperately wanted to tell the story of the song’s protagonist in a way that transcends language. I’m thrilled about this absolute fever dream of a video full of cults, monsters and murder I’ve put together with the amazing cast and VideoInk crew. This video isn’t only an ode to some of my favorite films; on a personal level, it presented some brand new experiences and challenges, from wild choreographies to some serious shape-shifting. I’m really excited to bring this one into the world!”

Unable to perform live due to the pandemic, Wessels spent most of last year buried in her Six Feet Under home studio, writing, performing and producing an eclectic wealth of songs. Tales From Six Feet Under offers her favorites out of the bunch and marks an electrifying collection with gems ranging from melancholic indie pop to synth-infused rock. The record features Wessels’ rendition of Goth classic “Cry Little Sister”, as well as a beautiful synergy of the stunning voices of CHARLOTTE WESSELS and  Alissa White-Gluz on “Lizzie”. The mesmerizing and haunting “Victor” was released in April this year along with a visually palpable music video. “Soft Revolution” showcases the artist right where the magic happens; in her Six Feet Under studio. The song – part sweet sorrow, part soaring call to action, is quickly becoming a fan favourite.

‘The Truth Always Comes Out In The End’ is a 5 track EP, themed around a mysterious individual who uses ransom notes to communicate. THE NOW are a four-piece band from South Wales who, although they only started playing together in 2018, have already started making an impact on the local scene with their big, highly infectious, guitar heavy tracks.

Consisting of Shane Callaghan on rhythm guitar & lead vocals, Will Scott on drums & vocals, Callum Bromage on guitar & vocals and Jay Evans on bass guitar, the average age of the band is 21. Their cutting edge look and feel falls in line with their sound – cool, current and highly charged! 

THE NOW’s inspiration comes from an eclectic mix of music and musicians who include Chuck Berry and The Police, right through to Kasabian and Catfishand The Bottlemen, with vocal influences including Kelly Jones and Ryan ‘’Van’’ McCann.

Their stage presence is something special and full of energy, with their self-written songs delivering a huge punch to the head with superb lyrics that stay in your head for days – all poetically written by enigmatic frontman, Shane.

LILLI Release Third Single ‘Elude’ from Upcoming Album

Finnish melodic rock/metal band LILLI releases the third single from the upcoming second album on Thursday 12th of May. The song titled Elude is a heavy sounding but still wistful story of giving one’s all but still to be left with nothing. Elude following the two earlier single releases – Limits of Life and Manflake – continues the musical development leaning towards heavier sounds compared to the band’s first album Awful Hits for Women (2020).

”The lyrics are about trial and error in a relationship, about giving all you got to someone but still just not being enough. Eventually one is forced to give up and let go, but still the doubt remains: did I try hard enough or could I have given it more effort?” the vocalist Lily Black sums up.

”Elude differs from other our songs because the basic structure was created almost two years ago but the finishing took time. The chorus especially took a lot of work and we ground it to the point of tiring. We put the song on the shelf for a while and got back to working on it in the beginning of 2022 as we were working on the second album. Suddenly it all just clicked and the released version also includes a synthesizer bringing wideness to the sound. The song is very nice to play and as an upbeat song it works great in live shows as well” Teemu Harjunen (guitar) and Sami Halinen (bass) comment on the song.

The song has been recorded in the group’s bassist Sami Halinen’s home studio in Nakkila. Mixing was done by Sami Niittykoski (SN-Audio Production) and mastering Alho Audio Mastering.

IBRIDOMA Release New Video ‘Ti Ho Visto Andare Via’

Italian heavy/power metallers IBRIDOMA have released the new video for the song “Ti ho visto andare via”, taken from the band’s upcoming album “Norimberga 2.0”.

We wanted to reflect on what we have experienced and what we are experiencing in reference to the drama of the events and griefs linked to COVID-19; to the accidents of those who have profited from masks and gowns; to those who fought on the front line without holding back; to those who have been left there in silence in a corner of the suburbs or in a hospital or nursing home; to those people we have never been able to see again; to whom we would have liked to comfort and help. Our new song “Ti Ho Visto Andare Via” is dedicated to all of them. How many times have we had to deal with tears in our darkest nights.

IBRIDOMA‘s new album “Norimberga 2.0” is coming out in May 2022 on Punishment 18 Records. The artist behind the stunning album coverart is Gustavo Sazes (Cynic, Angra, Arch Enemy, British Lion, Sinheresy, Old Man’s Child).

“Norimberga 2.0” was mixed and mastered in 2021 at Domination Studio by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Elvenking, Injury, Bulldozer, Labÿrinth).

Germany’s Cult Thrashers NECRONOMICON Reveal New Details of Upcoming 11th Studio Album

Just recently, Germany’s Cult Thrashers NECRONOMICON announced their new 11th studio album in the works, and today the band reveals new details about their yet untitled effort!

Freddy, the band’s frontman and vocalist shares:
“12 songs are written and today 12.05.2022 the 13th song will be finished. 13 songs full of power and hardness. A wide spectrum from typical thrash metal versions over punk-heavy versions to driving midtempi songs. Next week the lyrics for the vocal parts will be written and after that Marco and Freddy will fly to Canada to record the drum parts with Rik.”

Earlier Freddy revealed on the album topics:
“As the world is becoming to resemble the H.P. Lovecraft’s Necronomicon (Book of Dead) we have decided to deal with the current situation in Ukraine and in general with the topic of war and violence against children and women. Musically I would like to tie in with “The Final Chapter” and deliver a wide range of song material which also means a new beginning, a new chapter of the band with Rik and Glen at the same time… Again Achim Köhler will do the mixing and mastering. You can be curious.”

‘Rodeo 69’, the first single of FURIOUS JANE is released now through Volcano Records & Promotion!

FURIOUS JANE is a brand new alternative rock band from Italy that today releases the video of Rodeo 69, a powerful hit that seems to well represents the new Italian wave talking about modern rock. The band managed and produced by Alex Liccardo, guitarist of Hangarvain and owner of the independent record label Volcano Records & Promotion, is a four pieces rock ensemble with a very unique and personal voice surrounded by a powerful and solid rhythmic section.

The video of Rodeo 69 has been produced by Tetra Vision and narrates the toxic relation between a boy and a girl like a symbol of any addiction such as alcohol or drugs.
